Excellent food and superb food. We hadn't been for a long time and grabbed the chance to go on our way back to Swindon. It was difficult to choose from the extensive menu and specials board but ended up with the beer battered cod and triple cooked chips. 10/10. We also had the pleasure of Sue's company at the end of our meal. What a treat.

Visited on a wet day and Pub was quiet and slightly deserted that is always a worry. The young man on duty was engaging and polite and his service was good. We were looking for sandwich which was advertised on the online menu but were quickly told sandwiches were not on offer and maybe on next week!!! We went for the two course menu that arrived the meat platter was not a meat platter and the Mac cheese had absolutely no flavour. Main coarses of Fish and my colleagues crepe was very average and I can see why people are not coming in ! Would not recommend very poor overall for quality of food and presentation. And what no Sandwiches !!

Having written a glowing review last year, this is the opposite-I have never been so disappointed in my life! My husband phoned to book Sunday lunch and to check that there was gluten free options on the menu, and Charles apparently said yes, apart from the Yorkshire puddings (he said they'd had problems with their supplier, yeah), most things were ok, so he booked for my daughter's birthday on 4th. We arrived and the service was slow, but my daughter asked for the allergens list to check what she could eat. The lady told us they didn't have gluten free Yorkshires. So, we went prepared and she brought three home made gluten free Yorkshire puddings with her. We ordered and gave the person who took the order to ask the chef to pop them into the oven for three minutes. They were brought back saying he refused because of cross-contamination! I couldn't believe it! We got up and left. This is one place I shall not return to at all! Really so short-sighted, they are the easiest things to make and foolproof!

The roast beef and roast potatoes were excellent, cooked beautifully and hot. The rest of the vegetables were not particularly hot and the dish for 4 people was the same size as the dish of vegetable served to a table of 2. The service was a bit chaotic with several people attending to us resulting in a bit of a wait to place our order as each person serving thought somebody else had taken our order. There was also a long wait between courses. We will eat here again as we want to support our local pub and the new team.

The last time I visited The Three Crowns would have been around 8 to 10 years ago when it was in its Hayday, renowned for being one of the best restaurants in the area. It's fair to say a lot would have changed over the years, not only here but the food scene in general with a lot more choice and quality locally, meaning a trip out this far would be more of a rarity.I came back to have Christmas dinner with my team. Although a number of years on the restaurant still felt family, a traditional bar area and then seating sprawling out into a conservatory area, it felt warm as cosey. As far as the food goes it was a pretty good. The started was modest and simple (salmon ) the main was well cooked, seemed fresh/not over processed and a good size portion, topped off with a Bailey's crème brulé.Staff were friendly and attentive, it was quite quiet and therefore lacked a little of the Christmas cheer, but that could be a good thing having been to some rowdy places before. It's hard to judge a place on a set menu, it didn't have the finesse of days gone by, but it was a solid Christmas meal, as good as I've had when eating out, I'd definitely welcome a return to try something from the normal menu.

The 3 Crowns is your high end price for food but once you've been you don't regret spending every penny. The food is cooked to a very high standard and you pay for quality and not quantity. Depending on the night you attend there are different options aswell as a specials board. For us its a bit of a journey as we live in Swindon but we have never had a bad meal and have organised special occasions to be held there such a birthday meals etc. The staff have always been friendly although you have to walk past the bar to get to the restaurant. This can be filled with locals and can be a bit busy as you walk in. The puddings are amazing and will always leave space for one. It used to be on the taste card which was unbelievable value. The staff are pleasant and efficient, the wine menu is varied (options to buy some by the glass = small, medium or large) and the food is superb. There were specials in addiiton to the normal menu. We all had both the surf & turf, 3 had fillet and one had cote de boef. All the meat was perfectly cooked and delicious. The lobster was a good size but had been dressed with something that tasted like fennel which spoilt it for me. I would’ve liked a choice or told it was going to be cooked this way as usually they come up plain grilled. I also tried the scallop which was cooked beautifully. Very good fat chips too! We shared some desserts which were also very good. Nice wine too. My only gripe was that our starters of bread & olives came up with the main meal. Would definitely go back and try a Sunday lunch.

First on the table was cured trout and scallops, the scallops were cooked perfectly and the additional of pork skin gave that little extra crunch. The steaks were cooked perfectly, full of flavour and the chips were proper triple cooked....need i say more.

The menu needs modernising and to take account of the seasons- no salad dishes for example in August.

We were staying down in Wiltshire for a few days and it was raining really hard so decided to get out of the bad weather and have a meal out. Was recommended this place by our campsite owner and she was not wrong. Food was lovely and really good portions. Children’s food was great. Staff were really polite and friendly - couldn’t fault them. Would certainly eat there again.

Dined out with our friends. On the whole the food was good. However, I do think it’s a tad expensive as the portions are small. Dauphinois wasn’t the best but the triple cooked chips were lovely. Service was ok, although could have been better, the specials board wasn’t pointed out to us and we didn’t see it as it wasn’t directly in our line of sight, so we missed the opportunity to choose from that.

Visited with a couple of friends and all of us had the steak and ale pie (based on past experience of great pies at the Three Crowns) and I have to say we weren’t disappointed. Very moist and tasty with excellent chips and nice veg. Service was friendly if a little scatty at times. Throughly recommenced!

Haven’t been here for a very long time so when old friends suggested we meet here for lunch I was looking forward to returning. The 3 Crowns didn’t disappoint. An enjoyable long lunch taken outside in the sunshine on the patio.

We arrived on a Friday evening to find the bar and restaurant full and buzzing - a really good way to start the night! Things only got better with the food which was beautifully presented and really tasty. We were glad to see that the Makutu Sauvignon Blanc is still on the wine list too! We feel very fortunate to have a pub which serves such good food in our village. We will be back again very soon!

Moved into Brinkworth in October 18 and have been a regular visitor to the pub. The food is excellent, always a large selection to choose from, but most important it’s always of the highest standard. The staff are very friendly to both humans and dogs, and will always go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Visited on a Sat night with short notice, but plenty of tables available. Warm greeting from the staff on arrival and offered drinks before being shown to our table. Service was quick and friendly, and the food was excellent. Quantity wasn't huge, but we left the table 'comfortable' Possibly a little pricey, but very good quality.

Overall the food was good, it should be at that price. The poor part was the service, nearly 30 minutes to be able to order food. Another 25 min to get a prawn cocktail starter, another 25 min to get your main meal. We booked a table for 15.00 hrs, got there 5 min early and did not leave till after 16.30hrs. We will not be rushing back unless we see reviews that shows improvement on service.

Service if I’m being honest was shocking , we were sat down for 25minutes and no one had come over to us so I had to ask a waitress her response was “ I’ll send someone over”. About 10 minutes later I asked her again as STILL no one had come to our table.. Finally we got served and ordered our starters and mains. The food was good however the steaks were brought out cooked incorrectly and some had to be taken back, meaning some people were eating before others. We ordered the cabbage and bacon which was unimpressive to say the least, the cabbage looked anaemic so I wouldn’t recommend that. Overall, once the steaks came out correctly the food was good but it was just ruined by the poor service , I understand having an expensive menu however when I’m paying £26 for a steak I expect it to be cooked correctly at the very least. If I had to rate this on the food itself I would’ve given it a 4 but with taking into consideration everything else I really don’t think this pub deserves it... MORAL OF THE STORY: if your to busy to squeeze in a table of 4 just say NO instead of leaving customers waiting , dissatisfied and making silly mistakes.

Lovely setting, main courses were all good although roast potatoes were dry and we did not receive cauliflower cheese as detailed on menu. Deserts were expensive and strawberry pavlova dish only had some sprinkles of pavlova on one scoop of ice cream, certainly not worth £6.25. Waiting staff were unsure what was on the menu too, so needs some improvement.
