If your looking for a home cooked roast, here is the place to come! It’s absolutely delicious It’s a home from home pub, the staff are welcoming and the atmosphere is outstanding . Dogs are welcome! 10 out of 10 would 100% recommend! I didn’t t want to write this review because it’s an absolute gem that I’ll be continuing to visit every Sunday and I don’t t want to fight for a table

A regular place we go to. Unfortunately we were turned away from using the pool table due to the ‘owner’ using it. Our names were wiped off the board for next play and I was spoken to very rudely by a lady and the supposed ‘owner’ when I asked if we could have a game. Never known anyone to speak to their customers like that. Very disappointing.

We’ve been coming to the Temple Bar for years, for both food and drink. We often bring our Irish friends here who are visiting Norwich and normally really enjoy the atmosphere. However the last couple of times have been a very different experience and we’ve stopped going all together. We visited with friends over the summer to watch a match and as we were leaving, my partner went out the front to say goodbye to our friends, while I waited at the benches. When my partner came back, the manager came out, saw that he had been around the front of the pub, and started shouting and accused him of “pissing” on a car that was parked. He demanded to know why my partner had been around the front of the pub and then come back, and although we explained he had been saying goodbye to our friends, the manager shouted that he was “disgusting”. We were incredibly taken aback, pretty confused and astonished really, by the accusation and at how verbally aggressive he was towards us. Absolutely shocking behaviour sadly.

The best Sunday roast I've had in a pub for years. I had the belly pork, huge portion of meltingly tender meat, with generous portion of roasties. Delicious red cabbage, assorted veg and cauliflower cheese, lashings of gravy absolutely delicious. You can't book, you'll probably have to wait for a table, but it's definitely worth it.

I have never been so insulted in a pub in my life - and I am old and have been to thousands. Were it possible to give less than one star, I would. I only write this as a warning to others who may be tempted to make the same mistake I did last Sunday. The pub, though a little dingy and shabby, was quite busy. I stood waiting at the bar for over five minutes as a number of staff ignored me, filling trays with drinks and waking past. Eventually, I stopped someone - a little, old guy - and asked: "Excuse me, but is it table service only here today?" To which he curtly replied: "No. But I'm not stopping doing what I'm doing now to serve you." With this, he picked-up his tray of drinks and walked away. Well, "cead mile failte" by backside!! A simple, "We're very busy, but someone will be right with you" perhaps? No, not a bit of it! So, I'll never know if the Guiness (sometimes I've been known to have a second pint!!) is as good as other reviewers have said, but I couldn't say that the smell of the food was particularly tempting. Norwich is a city blessed with loads of pubs, many serving food, where you can enjoy a warm welcome and a well run bar. This place isn't one of them. You have been warned.....

My partner and I arrived on a very busy Sunday afternoon. It was obviously popular since it felt like we had walked into organised chaos! Greeted, promptly and efficiently by staff we waited at the bar for our table. The staff were working so hard ,and watching the team working together was a triumph. Having spent my life in Hospitality it actually brought a tear to my eye. Our meal arrived, I chose the beef and hubby had the pork belly. Both were cooked BEAUTIFULLY and presented well. We actually counted 13 different vegetables in total, a little of each, and not a grey mushy 'undesirable' in sight. I'm so impressed, and will spread the word on this little gem. For £12.95 and the standard of our experience, we are sure to return .

The roast was great, but can’t comment on the pudding as we were (all 12!) asked to leave before it could be ordered as they ‘needed the table’. If that was the case why not warn us and ask us for dessert orders sooner? This was a pre-booked birthday party of friends, and we found ourselves abruptly out in the street at 1.30pm on a Sunday without half the meal or coffee! The lack of care (and meanness of a 90-minute slot for a birthday group!) puts me off wanting to return however good the menu.

Best Sunday roast in Norwich! Staff were all very nice, so don't really understand the negative reviews on here. It is a bar, not a restaurant, so not really sure what others were expecting in terms of being shown to their table and waited on, but I was very impressed! Everything exceeded my expectations and we were treated very well. The only thing I would say is that the ladies toilet could do with a bit of a makeover, a bit grubby but not too bad. Everything else spot on. 👌

Came highly recommended by a work colleague so naturally had to be tempted. After a 3 mile walk we arrived, needed to get that appetite ready. Great atmosphere and very friendly busy staff. Only serve a Sunday lunch, so booking is a must. Don’t be disappointed if you can’t get served for food if you’ve just walked in. Arrived early so made time to use the outside seating area and sip a nice cold Madri. Once seated, very Fast service, all food arrived served hot as you’d expect, with a side dish with a selection of vegetables cooked as they should be. Another dish of gravy provided if you so wish to float your peas. The meat for our lunches, was the beef and turkey crown between us. Absolutely delicious. I can’t say no more than that. Just try for yourself. Had to finish with a tasty fruit crumble dessert off the menu. Great value for money, if you’re disappointed after your visit, may be stick to a burger then.

Eventually visited here with my daughter as I’d heard a lot about this bar and I live and work locally so wanted to try it out. I called on Friday to book Sunday lunch but my booking for 1pm never got passed to chef so had to settle for early evening. Initial impressions were good,it seemed friendly and lively with a great outdoor space ..We were welcomed and seated quickly.I was told that the lamb option was finished so I had beef and my daughter had pork.Service was speedy and friendly and the vegetables were amazing, however I felt that potatoes,Yorkshire pudding and meat were a little tasteless. A large party was seated next to us and as we finished I noticed that one of the party had the lamb..I questioned this when paying and was told that they’re probably friends of the chef!!! WTF!! What a bittersweet experience..I was prepared to give this pub and food 7-8 out of 10 but that was so disappointing that we just left without having dessert etc and I probably won’t be back.

A favorite of my hubbies (although it’s becoming one of mine too) always try and meet here for the Norwich games and avoid the busy ones closer to the ground which are a nightmare…. Plus this is a great sports pub if you’re lucky enough to get a seat at the front- Bar staff are friendly and diligent! Love the chance to win your Round for free with the roll of a rice (not win yet) The selection of drinks they have is great, lots of delicious ales (but not one bitter- when we took my dad he looked as if he’d just seen a. Ghost when we broke the new to him) the food and in particular the pies are great, hearty food for the match. Really like the lots of little nooks of seating area although some leave you with restricted views to watch the game, but other than that it gives the pub real character!

**Cozy Spot with a Great Patio – Perfect for Drinks with Friends!** The Plow in Norwich is a charming spot with a cozy, quaint atmosphere that makes it a great place to unwind. The garden patio is a real highlight—it's absolutely lovely when the weather is nice, providing a perfect setting for enjoying a drink outdoors. However, one downside is that the menus don't always reflect what's actually available, which was a bit disappointing. Despite this, The Plow remains a fantastic place for catching up with friends over drinks. The ambiance and friendly vibe make it well worth a visit.
