Great food service with a smile.

Always a lovely pub to frequent

Another wonderful pub in Norwich, extra points for allowing us to 'win our round for free' by rolling a double 6 on a pair of die. The selection of beers and ciders on tap were great. Plenty of bar snacks as well. Plenty of seating inside - lots of little nooks and crannies to sit in as well. Very cosy place with good staff.

Nice pub with good selection of drinks in a good location, nice bit of history in the pub too. Bartender let us play a dice game to try and win our round for free which was a nice touch

We took our drinks outside to the spot under the tree where you can watch the world go by

The perfect pub ! Staff are genuinely lovely, we brought our dog with us and he was treated like a king 🤴 he was givin biscuits and water from a very welcoming lady behind the bar , the decor and vibe is perfect ! We had a really lovely time an absolute pleasure!

Just popped in as it was part of the Shoebox Tavern Trail. Service was very quick.

Burger was claimed to be homemade, was dry, tasteless and too much grizzle parks mixed throughout, when I mentioned to waiter about it, it was a very quick sorry and left

Great place with a good selection of beers, decent pub food, nice staff and lots of interesting murder / true crime themed information to read. Plus great air con which was most welcome on an excruciatingly hot day.

To be fair we went late on a quiet Tuesday. Definitely a good pub to visit when its buzzy. But really lovely characterful pub inside. Good selection of real ale. Summer Daze not the best. Downer was 3 old guys incl security man f'ing and c'ing every sentence. But I shall return

Was in Norwich for a day and had heard of the place through a podcast. Great pub with good food and top-quality bar service! Bar staff couldn’t have been better to deal with, well worth a visit!

Very disappointed in the food. Ordered a simple cheese sandwich and a cheese and tomato sandwich - quite expensive and received simple' sandwiches. Bread was dry - cheese was thinly sliced and warm. Looked just what you would make at home with 'normal' bread Complained but received no interest in my complaint! I'm sorry but I won't come back to eat again.

A decent, no nonsense British pub which thankfully, over the years, hasn't seen the need to change it's winning formula.

First time. Popped in fao a real ale and sat outside. Good beer and atmosphere

First visit too this pub . Went in at lunch time had the best fish and chips in a pub I've ever had . The service was great didn't have too wait too long just enough time too know your meal was cooked fresh The staff were very professional. Will definitely visit again next time in Norwich

I have been in the murders last year And 2022 I was on a coach holiday to mmwRYarmouth last week and there was Trip to Norwich so we had to go the Murders

Popped in at lunch time today after hearing the pub mentioned so much on Jaack's Happy Hour. Was worried it would be a nightmare with my 2.5 year old but was determined to have a drink there just to say I had. I was PLEASANTLY surprised to find the pub so chill inside, staff were lovely and the atmosphere was just nice. Sat down with our drinks and decided to order food too, and it was the best food I've had out for a long time. The burger meat was so tasty, everything was just great. Would absolutely recommend a trip if you're around.

Food absolutely dreadful. I would echo the comments of another reviewer who said it was the worst food they’d had in a pub.. the eggs Benedict were cold and served 10 minutes before the rest of the food. The jacket potato with chilli was tasteless. The coleslaw was most strange as well. Seating was uncomfortable and the place was a bit noisy. The less said about the toilets the better.

Excellent service with a warm welcome as we entered inside the pub. Ordered a dry hopped lager and gin with lemonade for around £11. They have a roll the dice game happening and if you get 2 doubles you receive 25% off or double 6 it is half price! A nice bit of fun!

First time visiting Norwich and was told to try here, it's definitely my favourite that I went to. Good beer I got a stout and a larger both tasted good. Service good, didn't try the food, a really good old style pub

Thought we would have a nice tea out ordered a steak and ale pie my two friends had the same, very disappointed with the pie, very small with chips peas and gravey not worth the money ,my husband ordered a curry it was terrible very runny dark brown hardly no chicken it actually looked disgusting, so very disappointed.

Good pub, and good selection of ales. But would not eat there again. I was there with my wife and 2 friends. 3 of us had the steak pie, which was tiny and came with a few chips and peas. it was edible but not great and over priced for what you get in our option. The other person ordered chicken curry, which looked like a brown slop with very little chicken. There are better places to eat in the city for what we paid

So I had steak and ale pie very dissatisfied for the money ,just a pie stuck in microwave no leeks few chips and peas not worth money

I've been going here on and off for about 40 years but hadn't been for about 10 years, and I found it reassuringly familiar on this visit. Norwich institution.

Great pub! Shows football, good beer

I do like the murderers but for some reason I can't fathom I never really feel like I can stay here for too long. Perhaps it's because it's a city centre pub and there's a constant flux of people or perhaps it's because the beers and real ales seem to be some of the most expensive in the city, but if you're there to meet some friends for a post shopping pint or catch the match on any number of screens dotted throughout the building, then it does just fine.

Good range of beers in thus old, busy city centre pub. Menu looked good and reasonably priced.

Great old pub. Loads of nooks and crannies. Friendly staff, with great knowledge of the huge variety of beers. The food is unbelievable value. Halloumi sandwich was packed with salad, including red pickled onions. Fish finger brioche was bang on, with really good tartare sauce. Well done. Keep it up.

Fabulous real ale pub in the centre of Norwich. Plus great food. The KRAYS burger was superb and really good cod and chips as well.

Don’t bother with the food ! I ordered the home made chicken curry…..worst curry I have ever had ! It said it was a medium curry… well I failed to find anything curry about it at all,I don’t like strong curry, but this failed, not even a whisp of curry flavour.. it was thin, runny stock, with onions and green peppers and the chicken was very dark meat…not sure it was even chicken… the Nan bread was warm, the popadom was good and crispy, the mint yogurt was very minty. The rice was just rice. My husband had steak pie, chips and peas, he said it was ok, but nothing special. I did give feedback to the staff when he cleared our plates. He did say sorry, but we did not feel that we would ever return in the future.

I great multi roomed pub. Previously two buildings, one side has a lot of old timber framing. Mots of old pub mirrors etc and also famous murderers. A great selection of real ales, ciders and lagers including some dark beers. Plenty of staff and a nice atmosphere and varied clientele. Also got some sports screens down the back.

Liked the way the pub has not really changed in over 40 years!

Fell into here for a lunch. Convivial atmosphere helped by the lovely landlord, Phil who was great to talk to and clearly loves his job and pub. Good pub food with a twist. Go for the fish finger sandwich or the maple infused halloumi fries with a soft poached egg. Would return. Loved Norwich after a first visit.

Barman tried to overcharge us, until I said something. I saw him enter extra item on the till so wasn't a mistake. Be aware!

Great old pub good selection of drinks and a good place to watch sports

It was my fourth time here, three on different City of Ale trails, and last week on our own bespoke trail. I had the Edith Cavell and it was in fine condition. I like the layout of the pub as well as its central location. I can recommend this pub to beer enthusiasts, as well as a wider set of drinkers, without reservation.

Historical city centre boozer with a decent selection of ales and live sports.

Love this pub, it's one of the best in town, a true old school local with heart and a story. Beers on tap are great (one of the reasons I go) and the staff and regulars are super welcoming, don't let the name put you off paying them a visit! You can tell it's loved and well managed, I always judge a place by it's toilets and theirs are spotless, five stars well deserved.

Always friendly and helpful. Bar staff don't take long to check you are being served. Nice selection of beers and great food (particularly if you only want something small for lunch).

Think this was the worst lunch I ever had in a Pub. We were with friends and we left most of the food on the plates including siste salad that should have been binned not served to customers.

Lasagne was only ok and wifi not that good. Beer selection and everything else is great.

Went here for some work drinks around Christmas. It was heaving and whilst the barstaff were working admirably, the clientele was rather rude (called someone a c word for just trying to order at the bar). It was hard to walk past without brushing up multiple people. I would not recommend this pub in the future for this reason.

Absolutely fantastic. Great drink selection and the food is amazing. We had homemade chilli and a burger and it was so good. The banter from the staff is also top notch!

A great selection of British ales in a good old fashioned English pub. It's becoming harder to find places like this. Ask the barman if you can play the dice game.

Now I wasn’t holding out much hope as there was no one else eating when I arrived on a Friday around 5pm, but the curry was surprisingly good and served very quickly. No puddings though.

Fabulous place I love the murderers! Great atmosphere, clean and tidy and lots of options for food and drink. We didn’t eat but the food looked delicious that was being served. The owner/manager Paul needs a shout out just of his own as he is a brilliant host. Made everybody feel welcome (put the footy on for my very demanding partner!) and had a laugh and a joke with us all. Really enjoyed our visit and will obviously go back again and again. Please visit as it is a lovely pub and the staff are fantastic.

Great little pub. Heard about it on the Happy hour podcast for years and so we had to pop in when in Norwich for the first time. Quirky little place. Didn't try the food but the menu looked lovely and well priced 👍

I went in to watch the boxing on a Tuesday at 11:30. The staff were happy to accommodate and served a couple of great pints of Adnams hop house lager. Loads of screens, food looked hearty. I didn't eat, but the chili looked good.

Have been here many times before. The Murderers interior has pictures of famous criminals and also details a murder that only people who have read about it. One of the delicacies on offer is Chips or Curly Fries with something extra. I had the chicken curry and cheese option.

Had an amazing breakfast and a pint, looking forward to going again.

Good pub. But these days shuts early, such a shame. Came tonight at 22.06 , told close, politely, but still closed and their Google says 23.00. Not what it was but still

We went on to try a pint. Never been to Norwich before. Went to pay and there was an option of a gamble. Throw a pair of dice and get any double 25% off, throw a double 6 and the drinks are free! Good fun, I got 25% of and the beer had an even nicer taste. The pub name theme does get through into the bar area with various posters eg Crippen. Plenty of small private areas too which was nice. Folk seemed to be enjoying food, we didn't have any. Quirky place and well worthy of a visit.
