We had afternoon tea and it was absolutely superb. The food was fresh with local products and the cakes were to die for. The service was swift and friendly and Maisy kept checking in to see if everything was ok. She really looked after us. Also the atmosphere is calm and friendly and the facilities were clean. I would thoroughly recommend this place.

Went there recently and was very disappointed with the service and the high cost. The price of a decaff tea is £3.10 which is too much for a small teapot of tea. They charge more for decaff than normal tea, even though decaff does not cost any more to buy. I did ask for a pot of hot water to top it but they obviously forgot to bring it. Also there were no sweetners on the table so I had to ask for them and they only brought 2 for me and my husband had to ask for more. I asked for brown bread and when it came it looked very white but when I asked to change it I was told it was in fact brown. I have to say it looked white to me and tasted like white bread too. We have been here before but will not be going back any time soon.

Vastly over priced drinks and the food was quite simply poor. Avoid and don't waste your time. A simple bottle of Coke was hiked upto £3.50. Cakes tasted old. Tiny glass of milkshake for £4.00. A big disappointment.

I've come here a few times and generally it's really nice. I was shocked this weekend to realise that a small oat milk flat white is £4.15; a 65p supplement for oak milk!! A small flat white using dairy milk is £3.50 which has also got to be one of the most expensive around, but when you consider the price of a double expresso is £2.80 then they're effectively charging £1.45 extra for the oat milk. We mentioned this to the supervisor who tried to justify the price but then said she'd mention it to the manager. The manager didn't bother coming over. One option on the day menu for anyone following a plant based diet. Poor effort IMHO. It's a nice place but I think the coffee prices need to be rethought and more pant based options on the day menu.

This is a nice cafe at a nice garden centre with a nice gift shop... The food is good quality and well presented so it isn't a cheap option. The menu has vegetarian and vegan options BUT i wasn't expecting to have been charged 60p extra for oat milk in my coffee though!! £3.50 for a SMALL coffee is too expensive enough as it is but £4.10 with oat milk was a joke. The waiter said that he wasn't liable for any mistakes in our orders due to allergies, this was a joke also.. but funnier than the price of the veggie coffee. Its the small things like this that make me not want to return unfortunately. Why should a veggie/vegan pay £4.10 for a tiny coffee but a non veggie pays £3.50? Riddle me that! P.s I'm not veggie or vegan ...

This place is hard to beat! I'm from Norfolk, and I make a bee-line for this lovely place with the plants, the clothes, cooking bits and bobs, the courtyard outdoor seating and the cosy inside tables EVERY TIME I visit Lancaster ... THE FOOD: home-cooked, absolutely delicious, plenty of it - OH MY you will NOT have that "is that all I get?!" feeling here!!!! LOCAL-sourced, beautifully seasoned, whether soup of the day or mains, savoury or sweet, this place is EXCELLENT. Staff are friendly and relaxed, can't do enough for you. Atmosphere is bustling and often busy but they have time for a quick chat and luckily plenty of seats ... and when you're sat down enjoying the food there's no sense of being hustled along - you take your time and thoroughly enjoy ... and the CAKES are to die for ... I often add extra traybakes and brownies and get them to wrap it all up so I can take them away with me ... This last time I had the most delicious cheese-and-onion pie - six inches across - filled with lots of both - and the lightest, flakiest pastry pie-crust all around - with garden peas because I prefer them to mushy peas (no problem with my substituting), crisp hot chips, and an entire gravy boat with more yummy cheese sauce! - and I'm a meat eater, but this was heavenly and so warming on a chilly wet September day! TWO cakes to follow, shared half-and-halfsies with a friend - moist, delicious: one coffee/walnut and t'other chocolate/orange ... with soft drinks of rhubarb and of cloudy lemon - all very nice - Time before that: a most excellent spiced chicken flatbread wrap with salad and mango chutney and very nice tangy seasonings ... so large I ate half and wrapped the rest up for later ... And did I say all their serving team are lovely? Well, they are! I wish them all continued busyness and success, it's well deserved. See you all on my next trip north-and-westwards ...!!

Dont know what has happened to this delightful cafe. Used to visit quite a lot .but been disappointing last couple of time. No cakes (or very few) on display. No shortbread now sold( was told, "we sell it in the shop", did that mean I could buy it and eat it in cafe ? Had teacake last time which suffered from shrinkcation and was served with one butter, had to ask for another. Asked for scones (which used to be on display) but was told they were still in the oven (at 10.45am ?) Cafetiere now not offered. I get times are tough at the moment for the hospitality industry but I really do think that sometimes less offerings are not the answer.

Did a review last month that I think was 2 stars. I thought it had changed hands but the owner responded & said it had been is same hands for years. We went back really hoping it was back to the multiple previous visits all of which had been 5 stars. I’m disappointed to report it was okay but no better than that. Tea in a lovely teapot with a filter for real tea leaves, no real tea just a teabag in the filter? Such a shame not to use tea leaves when you have the purpose made teapot. Unfortunately the teapot also has 2 dirty marks on it (tea stains) I had avocado on toast. Literally one very thin slice of sourdough toast which as it was so thin was hard. Avocado smash literally had zero taste, definitely not been chef tasted as it was completely lacking seasoning. Chilli & lime supposedly, two big hitters taste wise, I could taste neither. £8.50 On a positive note the poached eggs were spot on. Waitress didn’t offer any sauce or salt & pepper either. I’m afraid after two dodgy visits The Tearoom will now fall out of our top three places for food in the area.

We’ve been to the daisyclough many many times but recently we’ve found that although the food is nice, by the time ours has reached us and the young girls who work there have been backwards and forwards to 3 different tables with our order, back to put the food under the hot plate while they talk to someone else about it and then it reaches our table, it’s sadly luke warm at best.Totally appreciate the difficulties that restaurants and cafes have faced with COVID recently but we feel that despite the 7 (yes 7) different people behind the counter and the actual cafe not that busy at all it still took 20 minutes for someone to take our order, a further 20 for the drinks to come (only had a pot of tea and a filter coffee) and 30 mins for the food! Unfortunately, even without the additional covid difficulties when you observe the staff they don’t appear to have a clue what they are doing (some are obviously new and being trained and this is understandable) but to take 20 minutes to make a pot of tea is ridiculous. I must add that the staff are very polite and friendly and it could be one of our fave places for a Sunday breakfast if the service was just a little better and it didn’t take an hour to get to us- I’d like to say this has just happened once, but it’s happened the last 4 times we’ve been.

Eaten here before and was ok but today was a shambles. Arrived and ordered no problem. Sat at the table and waited over an hour before told cheese pie was sold out so ordered a burger instead. Waited a further half an hour along with a mass of hungry annoyed people. Most people left getting refunds, others were sending poor food back. We asked again and as it was only 5 mins off and we were very hungry we waited.... another 30 mins!!!!. So a 2 hour wait for a caeser salad and a burger. When it came the burger was overcooked and dry with burnt bacon, a small paper cup of poor soggy coleslaw and fries which were ok. My caeser with chicken and bacon consisted of a dish of lettuce with 2 small pieces of chicken ... maybe half a small breast and no bacon. The croutons tasted of a chip pan and the sauce was nearly non existent. Both dishes cost around £12 each. If we had been told there was an hours wait when we ordered we would have gone but tried again some day as i use the garden center all the time. I now will never eat there again.Seeing in the kitchen there seemed to be a chef and 2 helpers. Obviously not enough as the quality of the food was shocking. The girls in the cafe were doing there best but should have stopped taking orders when the backlog became unmanageable. I feel if they had turned people away those people would return at some point. As it is all the people sending food back and all those being refunded as the wait was ridiculous will not go again. Lost business and a dent in your reputation. Very disappointing.

Difficult times for garden centres and tea rooms etc. All the more reason to pull out the stops.First impressions, poor signage and we had to ask our way to the tearooms. No welcome but a queue at the counter. We were finally shown to the table we'd booked. Went back to the counter to order but we couldn't hear the girl taking our order because the noise from the tearoom was so loud. (Nothing special, just poor acoustic.) Also IF the tables were 2 meters apart then the people sitting there certainly weren't. My partner had "steak pie" with chips and seasonal veg. The pastry was dark and overcooked and the chips had clearly been warming too long in the oven. I had a small helping of the Thai red curry which was very poor and tasted slightly sour. Almost totally lacking in flavour so I asked if there was any chutney. The waitress brought me a pot of Branston pickle, saying apologetically that's all they had. We were asked if we wanted any salt or anything and were brought ONE tiny sachet! All the staff were pleasant and helpful, but I'm glad we didn't meet the chef or I might not have been.I walked round the plant display area doing my best to avoid the standing water everywhere. Nothing tha couldn't be cured with a couple of sacks of gravel. It all made for a generally poor impression, I'm afraid.

My reviews are based on more than one visit and only my opinion. My first visit was two weeks ago.The cafe/resturant looked flesh clean with a lovely bright atmosphere. The staff were polite and very helpful.I had chicken tikka skewers chips and salad from the specials board. It was amazing. The second visit had chunky steak pie, chips veg and gravy, the pastry was nice and thin. The specials board did have salmon and other various delights, but I’m mostly a plain eater.I was full but still managed a cake for afters(rude not to), there were a lot to choice from. This is a high end cafe/resturant, In my view the pricing matched the quality perfectly. On the way out there is a little shop, beware of the jumpers, i’ve ended up buying one on every visit.

Visited as a couple for our lunch. I chose pizza which was really nice. My wife had a toastie and fries. The fries were cold and the cheese on the toastie didn’t taste very nice. The service was good though and the cafe and garden centre are nice inside. Wouldn’t rush back due to the wife not enjoying her meal.

Four of us had brunch here last week. It's a pleasant space with friendly and helpful staff. Three of us had sausages presented in different ways and were delighted. I had avocado with eggs - very disappointing. Cold tasteless rubbery toast, with a rather miserly spread of also tasteless and watery avocado. No discernible chilli flavour, despite being listed as an ingredient. Slightly overpriced. Maybe the lesson here is only to eat sausages!

While visiting locally we have often stopped here for a very nice meal or breakfast. The food and staff are as good as always however the menu is now extremely expensive after they increased by 20% (a £9.95 breakfast last year included all the trimmings plus pot of tea and toast - it now costs £11.95 plus another £2 for toast making it £14). The staff themselves seem a little embarrassed and were eager for feedback. Other increases take the humble teacake up to nearly £3 (£3.10 with a bit of jam!)Brekky barms are still to be recommended. Lovely local sausages, best anywhere and nicely cooked.

We visited for the three course Christmas lunch and it was lovely. This was our first visit and we were impressed with the modern but cosy decor, and the cleanliness of the cafe. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we were seen to our table quickly. Our food arrived promptly and was piping hot and delicious. All three courses were excellent and the festive gin and tonic was also amazing. Prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food. We both commented that we will have to return soon to try the regular menu, which also looked very nice.

Our first time visit so first impressions were very good a nice little nursery close to the A6. We decided to have lunch in their tearooms which were quite busy at the time. We originally ordered the steak pie only to be told that it was off the menus so I then ordered the fish and chips and my wife ordered the cheese pie. When the food came we both said the chips looked a bit dark and crispy as did my fish (basically over cooked). When we tried to eat them they crunched in your mouth and whilst some of them did have a soft center they were not pleasent chips. I persavered and ate mine but my wife left hers despite dousing them in vinegar and sauce. When the waitress, who I also think was the manageress as she did not have any uniform, came to clear the table we pointed out the state of the chips and also that the pie did not come with the side of cheese sauce as stated on the menus. Her explanation was that we should have been told that they had run out of cheese sauce and she would ensure the girl on the till told others, she also said that the problem with the chips was because they were a new type of chip from the wholesalers. We both felt that our complaint had been dismissed without any real consideration. Sorry but we will not be eating there again!

Breakfast ordered - poached eggs on granary bread! It should have read ‘vinegar on toast with eggs on the side’. Too much vinegar just awful .... usually a sign of an unskilled chef needing to use vinegar! Awful never order that again !!

I last came to Daisy Clough in early 2016 when my wife and I regularly visited to buy plants. At the time a lot of alterations were taking place and after asking, we found out that expansion and a tea room were proposed. In the interim my wife has been quite ill so we have never been back until now. In 2016 we never had to compete with more than a couple of cars in the small car park so imagine our surprise when there were at least thirty cars in a much extended and well organised car park.

Called in recently (10/8/19) really of the beaten track but what a find. Gorgeous tearoom and sublime food. We had the Ham sandwich with mustard, egg mayo, 2 portions of chips served in a miniature basket and 2 Caramel Latte's. The food was absolutely gorgeous, we spoke to the lady as our table was being cleared who turned out to be the manager. We told her how much we enjoyed the food, the staff were so polite and looked like they all enjoyed being there ( always a good sign) .Highly recommended if you are in the area, just off the A6 North of Garstang

Went today for the first time and really enjoyed it. The place is clean and tidy, the staff friendly and the food was really good. The menu was good and the specials board had plenty of choice. My wife and I really enjoyed our choices which were served by a smiling waitress.

I have been wanting to go to Daisy Clough for quite a while now. I know what a good chef Neville is, since his time working in Lytham. I went today with a friend and we were not disappointed! I had the Special Quiche, ham and mushroom which came with salad and coleslaw and I had a portion of chunky chips too. My friend had fish and chips and she said it was delicious! The fish was so white and the batter was lovely and crispy. We done to Neville and all the other staff who were all very hospitable and the service was quick and efficient. Overall an excellent day!

This was my first visit to Daisy Clough and it was very enjoyable. I had a BLT which was served with salad, crisps and coleslaw and was probably the nicest BLT that I have ever had. My friend had a goat's cheese bruschetta and said it was lovely. To follow we had a slice of lemon and passionfruit cake served with ice-cream. The food was plentiful and reasonably priced. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. We will certainly be visiting again.

This fabulous (recently redeveloped) place is a text-book lesson on how to strike the perfect balance between plant centre, cafe & gardening / gift shop. The large plant areas have not sacrificed any quality whatsoever during the expansion; in fact they have greatly improved, thanks to the highly experienced, knowledgable & (crucially), enthusiastic staff. The cafe is fantastic and so is the food! The seating areas outside are beautifully arranged and so picturesque. It seems Daisy Clough has been created not just with sheer hard work, but also with love and real flair. It's a place for literally every human to enjoy...canines included!. Thank you Daisy Clough for getting it so right.

Been here many times but really has gone down hill more each time and this was there last chance and won’t be returning, the place has got to busy for them to cope with and it just effects everything with service/good quality. Also witnessed workers going in the kitchen that work on the plants etc and he didn’t look to clean and probably was best not to be in the kitchen. Sorry daisyclough you have lost some more good local customers. Seem to have a lot of turnover of staff which is never a good sign.

Vegetarian breakfast served with a free coffee. For £10.95 you'd expect a bit more really as the breakfast was minimal and unfortunately served cold, stone cold; the coffee was a very small cup of filter coffee (token gesture) weak and tasteless. The lady who attended our complaint however was lovely and very apologetic courteously taking the breakfast immediately back to the kitchen returning a couple minutes later after a short blast in the microwave; there was no offer of a replacement breakfast nor a free coffee (or even a coffee top up....standard practice I'd have thought?) I had creamed mushrooms on toasted ciabatta topped with a poached egg - exchanged for scrambled egg. The bottom half slice of ciabatta was paper thin, hard and tasted rather like a deep fried beer mat I'd imagine; the scrambled eggs would have been very tasty and so would the plentiful amount of nicely cooked meaty mushrooms had it not be for the fact someone in the kitchen poured about a 1/3 of a pint of cold double cream on top of everything rendering the meal, well, totally inedible to be honest. The plate was literally SWIMMING in cream; why didn't someone in charge notice this when it was prepared/taken out of the kitchen? I like cream and it was a creamed mushroom dish but come on has no one there ever heard the phrase ...'less is more'?.. I don't usually complain but if someone from the tea rooms reads this review please treat it as a genuine and a considered complaint, please take my issues onboard as constructive criticism. You have a beautiful venue, your young 'Saturday kids' waiting staff are extremely friendly, courteous, smart, clean and lovely. The lady in charge was lovely too and as I said courteous and most apologetic. However everyone needs training; not good enough chaps I'm afraid!

My young daughter and myself visited today, and were delighted to find a great range of vegan cakes. My baby cannot have dairy so it was lovely to see she was able to eat something. I always take her snack box in case she isn’t able to eat off the menu, but it was lovely for her to be able to help Mummy eat her cake today. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the tea room was lovely and clean. The banana and Biscoff cake was yummy and we cannot wait to come again. Thank you for making us feel welcome despite allergies, you set a great precedent for everywhere else.

Often go to Daisy Clough for a breakfast. Always excellent. Went for lunch yesterday. We ordered quiche and steak pie, milkshake and a latte. All very nice. The only down side was the table we were sat at was in full view of the toilets. People queuing, could see the toilet every time the door opened. Don't really want to see a toilet whilst eating my lunch. I'm sure it would be possible to put some sort of screen across. A few tall plants from the nursery? Wouldn't want a loo view from my dining room.

My friend was treating me and another friend to afternoon tea at Daisy Clough. We checked the website and it said you only had to book for 4 or more people. We drove all the way from Lytham St Annes and arrived about 2.15. When we went to order at the counter we were asked if we had booked. We said the web site said we didn't have to. The girl went off to check and came back with another lady. She said we couldn't have one as we hadn't booked and they were too busy to do them without being booked. The place was barely half full and sandwiches and other meals were being served to other customers as we were stood there. She asked us if we would like to book for another day and we declined as we had driven all that way. My friend was upset and embarrassed that she had taken us there for nothing. We left and went to Barton Grange Garden Centre where they did us a superb afternoon tea with no hassles or quibbles. I checked the Daisy Clough website before writing this review this morning and it is still saying you only have to book afternoon tea for over 4 people people.

Poor service on arrival, no welcome greeting or anything. Could cut the tension between the staff in the OPEN kitchen with a spoon. No staff wearing gloves whilst handling meat and vegetarian options or anything in the kitchen for that matter. Share one fryer for meat and hash browns which are supposed to be vegetarian. Lady who handled food at the end just winged it into the hot hold as if it was rubbish. No wonder the hygiene rating isn’t on display.

We went for a large family meal 12+ people reserved. When we arrived they had run out of carvery knowing they had a reservation so we made due but when ordering we where also told they had ran out or steaks for the mix grill. We made due yet again but the food was cold and bland only redeeming quality was the outside area for are party. I will also add when paying the card machine automatically asks for a tip before you have even tasted your food or had service min options being 15%.
