Recently moved to Thornton clevelys from Manchester I have been in plenty of pubs in my time but never quite as good as this. The staff were so polite the food was exquisite. And the atmosphere was some what soothing and calm. I would highly recommend to anyone to come here and I will definitely be back again soon! Never in my life have I experienced fast food the quality and speed of the table service really does label fast food. And puts McDonald’s to shame.with time of delivery to your table. Thanks again to the bay horse team You really made mine and my friends day.

I came in with friends to watch the football. ordered a meal it was absolutely delicious it was the old faithful burger meal I would come here again definitely recommended.

I am a member of a quiz team who regularly attends the Thursday night quizzes at The Bay Horse. The staff are all lovely but I have to mention 2 in particular, Gary and Ryan who are always very polite and friendly and go out of their way to help solve any problems even when the pub is very busy. They are a credit to the manager and deserve all 5 stars awarded. Keep up the amazing work you do guys.

We love coming to this place the refurb as made a massive difference, shame it hasn’t about some rude people, as they can be very in patient to wait, the staff are lovely here and I rather wait for my meal when it’s busy for it to come out perfect it is value for money and the chefs specials 10oz ribeyes steaks are beautiful. We love the little pub.

Great service , smiling and happy staff and great food! Visited today with two work colleagues. All had ribeye steak, one medium rare and two medium. Perfectly cooked and well presented. Nice atmosphere too, thanks Bay Horse!

This pub is so friendly and the team are so nice it is run by toni and her team who are always. There to please the food is always pipping hot and the sizzler meals come out really sizzling they have bands on too and cater for all occasions and charity too keep up the good work team bay 👍

Popped in for a few pints originally with friends, thought we’d give it a whirl seen as we haven’t been in for a few months, I have to say the service was fantastic, really well looked after, the place was clean and tidy, we eventually decided after some time we’d have something to eat and it did not disappoint, I had the hunters chicken, my friend had the chicken and ribs both were excellent, thanks to Chris who I believe was the chef, we will be returning, would highly recommend

First Time here for a late lunch and sat here now enjoying the sun in the lovely garden area. Just had a 5oz steak asked for rare The chef is apparently Scott and I can tell you can certainly cook a decent thick rump steak. Lovely chips. Super friendly service from Mollie and we will be back. Lovely sitting out area compared to others I've been in recently. Well done all. And no I don't know anyone here. Credit where credits due.

After a very warm and friendly welcome from Ryan behind the bar, Tim and the rest of his team looked after us superbly. The atmosphere was just as we like it with plenty of space indoors (the majority of customers were enjoying the sunshine outside) and the background music at a level which permitted normal conversation (rather than raised voices). Our food was delicious. Thanks to everyone concerned. We will certainly be returning

We booked a table for two, got seated in the middle of the pub, but was OK. The food on the other hand was very below average. I ordered the fajitas, there was no seasoning on it, so was just grilled chicken with peppers and onions, the wraps were cold and hard and there was no guacamole. My husband enjoyed his pie but ordered mash and was given chips. All in all a bad experience and wouldn't return. When I said to the manager that the food wasn't great, the only thing she offered was a free pudding (I don't eat pudding) to which she just shrugged her shoulders and then brought a full price bill to us! It's a shame because we used to live by one of the other sizzling pubs in Blackpool and the food was amazing! It's just a shame that our new local is very much lacking in both food and service.

Was treated absolutely disgusting because my brother dyslexia and he couldn’t use the app!!! The manager at the time was more interested in making a member of staff look after some people as they spend well and always go! But after asking on 3 occasions for help a nice lad come to help us. Will never go to the bay horse again as we normally go to the Devonshire in Blackpool and they are so helpful plus the food tastes better their.

Amazing service in a nice beer garden. I ordered the cluckin hot stack burger cooked by Scott in the kitchen which was delicious.Would 100% recommend.

Met at the door by Tim & shown to our table. We ordered food on the app but needed help with some adjustments. Tim gladly helped with this. The food came quickly sizzling away. The meals were absolutely scrumptious. I couldn't manage all of mine. The garlic bread was lovely. Keep it up Bay horse we will be back again.

Called on chance for a quick drink Emma looked after us and nothing was to much trouble. Not sure of the waiters name (big lad) think it was Ryan gave us great service and made time for a chat . Really enjoyed the visit keep up the great work thanks Paul

My wife and I and also my daughter have visited the Bay Horse on a number of occasions and have eaten on each visit. They have an excellent menu with loads of choice, I generally have a steak and I`ve never been disappointed at all, all cooked exactly as requested. The same with my wife and daughter, they also have never been disappointed whatever they have had. All in all, a lovely pub with a wide selection of beers(plenty of handpumps)and a menu that won`t dissapoint.

I’m a carer in the local area and brought a gentleman to have a pint while we were out today. We had a wonderful time and our host, Emma was so cheerful and wonderful. Spoke to us with such respect and understanding, couldn’t have asked for a better welcome, thank you!

I pop into The Bay quite regularly for breakfast with my family, for tea or just drinks and it really is just the best little pub. Lovely food at a fantastic price, the breakfast is so good for the cost! The staff and management are brilliant - always friendly and coping so well in these current tough times.A welcoming atmosphere for everybody here.

We had a weeks holiday at Thornton Cleveleys and we called in at the Bay Horse on a few occasions for both a drink and also a couple of meals and I must say every time we had a lovely warm welcome with very nice professional staff making our visit very pleasant and comfortable.The food was good decent quality, very tasty at the right price, We would recommend and visit again.

Had a lovely evening. Could not fault the team with all the new regulations in place. Such a difficult time but felt very safe. A very strange time but the food, staff and company was amazing.

Especially since the Covid outbreak, I've found myself visiting this pub/restaurant when I feel the need to go out for drinks and/or food. They've set the standard in my view on distancing and table service, and whilst their competitors displayed laxer attitudes, the Bay horse has stuck to their principles, despite the obvious cost in lost business. The staff are great and work tirelessly to provide a decent service. Yes, it's not a Michelin star restaurant, but it doesn't pretend to be. It's priced well, the food is decent and it's good value for money. Highly recommended

This pub was really well organised. Social distancing in place and all staff wore masks. Very helpful and friendly bar staff. We were shown to our seat by Emma.Ordering the drinks on the app was easy.Four main meals were ordered- chicken tikka, gammon and 2 Sunday roasts.Food was piping hot and really good.Would definitely recommend this pub

On 9 September I took my parents out for their wedding anniversary. When I went to order I had ordered sirloin steak - I was advised that this was not available but I could have rump steak instead. When the food came my steak was tough and my mother could not eat her beef strips as they were dry and hard - she said it was as if they had been pre cooked then microwaved for too long to reheat. I ordered and paid for deserts and coffee. The waitress then came to out table and advised that we could not have coffee - or any hot drink as the coffee machine had been turned off for the evening -this was at 8.20pm. She said she would sort out a refund to my card. She then came back and advised the 3 of us who had ordered Eton Mess Sundae that there was no raspberry sauce, but we could have toffee or chocolate sauce. My dad asked to change his desert to arctic roll. As this was cheaper than the sundaes I was asked to return to the till to sort out a refund. The gentleman on the till couldn't work out a refund for 4 coffees and one desert plus the addition of a cheaper desert and said to return to the table and he would speak to his boss. We were then told that the raspberries for the arctic roll were not available - would have to be strawberries. The man who was sorting out the refund eventually came to the table and gave me cash as he couldn't work out how to get it back onto my card and I don't even know if I got the right amount as no receipt was given for the coffee or deserts.

Hello, I visited this lovely little establishment last night, it seemed that even due to the new social restrictions the pub had a great atmosphere, Tim was an exceptional host making sure we all had everything we needed, Shannon and Katie did their best to accommodate everybody with drinks and orders and the food was of great quality and value, the handsome bearded man behind the bar seemed to relish the challenge of the drink making, all round great trip, I will recommend to my friends, big thank you to the team in these unfortunate circumstances

Amateur set up. Over zealous ignorant staff. Basic food. Empty tables everywhere. 'Let's see if we can find you a table' ' Yes, over here'. 'But we want to sit outside' Oh I'm not sure if there is one free outside'. We go outside and the place is empty ! WTF ! 'You can sit here' 'My wife likes to sit in the sun. This is in the shade. There's one over there.' 'Oh that one's booked from 4pm' 'But it's only 2pm now ?!! Barking mad !!

Came for a few drinks with my friend in the beer garden and can’t recommend the bay horse enough, beer garden is clean tidy and has lots of room for large family’s and is family friendly. can’t explain how lovely all the staff are at The Bay horse , they are very professional and on top of heigene and Hand sanitizer is available all around the pub and on the ball all the time to make sure all customers are happy. Tim and the staff can’t do enough ... well done guys

Such a lovely pub, great food and great service.Every credit to all the staff especially with everything going on at the moment. Social distancing adhered to and on the whole everything is very well handled and feel very safe. Can order at the bar or on your phone to limit the contact. Great new way of running the service cycle. Never had a bad meal, glad to be back!

The Bay Horse is the perfect Village pub. it has a lovely authentic rural decor, which exudes warmth and hospitality.this warmth and hospitality extends to the staff team. knowledgeable bar staff waitresses who were attentive without being intrusive. And, food which was excellent . beautifully cooked and With excellent ingredients (I heartily recommend a large mixed grill) Despite being busy, our waiting time was short. I cannot recommend the Bay Horse enough

We travel from Manchester up to Fleetwood most weekends, the pub we normally visit has let us down recently. We therefore decided to visit the Bay Horse and we are so glad we visited last week and then again today Sunday the 25th of July. On both visits we were welcomed by a lovely pleasant lady with red hair. We were seated in pleasant clean surroundings. The food was reasonably priced and really nice, no complaints. Will not hesitate to visit again, all of the staff were pleasant and attentive. There are also a lot of tables if you wish to sit outside. What more can you ask for? Best wishes from Jean & Family.

Attended the bay horse yesterday to watch the football with a few friends. Food was great as was the service, was served again by gary who was as always on top form! Great work.

Dropped in for the football on Sunday,and despite a packed house the service was efficient whilst at the same time warm and welcoming. Great bunch behind the bar a relaxed Irishman,a young girl with hair like Rapunzel and a bearded giant who helped me download the sizzling app. Stunning food across the table, an American Platter, Steak Fajitas, Mexican Chicken and a PepperJack Burger, great variety and delightful presentation all served by a tall young lady who couldn't have been more accommodating. Look forward to visiting again soon, just feel guilty I didn't ask for the names of these great people who are working hard for their pub.

Pleasantly surprised. The menu here has changed, my wife enjoyed her meal, and I was pleased with the kebab. Wasn’t sure what meat would be served, was pleased with the outcome. Good range of tap beer, was disappointed the barman ignored me to obviously serve a regular who had arrived at the bar at least two minutes after I had been waiting. Not professional. But will consider a revisit.

Called in Thursday night having recently moved to the area went armed with a 40 % voucher that they had sent us ,soon as we walked in was told no credit cards accepted no cash ,that was fine but on ordering meal was then told that they could not accept our voucher due to network problems so we had to pay full price feel let down

The last time I was at this pub was a few years ago for a warm Saturday afternoon rock band competition. Burgers and much beer was the order of that day. This time things were a little more civilised - a wintry Monday evening when we didn't want to cook but we did want warmth. With a large car park and extensive menu this place ticked the right boxes (there's lots of outside seating too for the hoped for better weather later in the year.It's' a Sizzler venue so plenty of choice at very affordable prices - burgers, pastas, grills, light bites, Mexican, curries, traditional pub grub - almost too much to choose from.There was a steady trade for a cold start to the week - all ages - and it's a welcoming place, far from posh but it's kept clean and the service is friendly and attentive. My wife's lemon and piri piri chicken skewers was excellent value (abut half the price and twice the volume of some competitors) - complete with chips, onion rings, sweet corn and a separate serving of piri piri. My shepherd's pie was a bit more basic but still satisfying enough -- especially if you like peas (lots of them!).A pint of well kept Hooky ale and a medium glass of chardonnay went well with the food. Children are welcome in the family dining room until 10pm - there weren't any the night we were there. All in all a decent way to start the week.

myself and my family came in for food this afternoon during an extremely busy period. there was a wait on food but our meals arrived before the expected waiting time which is always good. the food was at a high standard and we want to thank both Lewis and Scott for making us all a tasty lunch. i had the steak and chicken which came on a skillet and it stayed hot throughout, so i was very happy with it. the steak was also cooked to perfection, i had it medium rare and it was exactly how i liked it. thank you to Chloe and Josh who were both rushed off their feet, yet made our experience worth while and we will definitely be returning. thank you so much team Bay!

myself and my husband visited the bay horse pub for a late afternoon lunch. Pleasantly surprised at the food standards and the wonderful staff whom made our experience a very enjoyable one. We ordered a peppered beef, which was delightful, you could cut the beef with a spoon it was unbelievably tender. My husband had the haddock and chips, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We would like to thank chloe on the bar, and josh serving us as they both were lovely people, who made our experience worth while. Another thanks to Scott and Lewis, our chefs. So i booked a table for 8 plus high chair I tried to call several times to ask for a plus one no answer when we arrived gave my booking and no booking had been entered onto the book this was for a family birthday get together no apology nothing staff member unhelpful and didn't even apologise or say if we could wait he would sort something no effort at all been numerous times no problem.but this time felt very let down and disappointed in customer service

Myself and some friends came in for the first time the other day and were welcomed by a very friendly team! I have a gluten allergy and as we came to order food, one of the chaps on the bar asked if there were any dietary requirements (think his name was Ben) and showed me the guide in the sizzling app. After looking through the guide i decided to have the tuna mayo jacket and my friends had some of the sizzling skillets (i was so jealous). Ben brought our food out and also a fresh set of cutlery and kept checking back on us. He made us feel very welcome and appreciated when we cam back to the bar for drinks also. The staff were brilliant and we will be back again!

I came with my husband and both of us had the sizzling breakfasts which was just delicious it was packed full on the sizzler with amazing food cooked amazingly!!!! You all made our experience worth while and we will definitely be back very soon! Well worth the visit and would recommend to everyone and anyone.

Fantastic kids Christmas party this week. My son had a great time playing games, dancing and seeing Father Christmas. Emma and the Team did a brilliant job, it's lovely to have a friendly local pub that does so much for the community. Food was lovely as always to.

Tried to get ripped off at it clearly states that it is £1 to add an alcoholic drink to the burger meals. Apparently it doesn't include cider which it fails to say on the menu. The lady also half filled our pepsi's in spite.

This was our 1st visit to Bay Horse although we know Sizzling Brand.

I had a lime & soda for my beverage and he had Hobgoblin as we perused the menus. I decided to try the Tennessee Sirloin & he ordered Penne Arrabbiata.

I recently visited here with my family for the halloween night and received a wholesome welcome upon arrival to the pub; the food was excellent, along with the service. I was extremely impressed with the vegetarian menu as not many places offer as much in the way of meat-free dishes. The atomosphere in the pub was very homely during the day and bouncing during the night with the band on. A vast array of drinks to choose from and packed menu makes for a great experience at any time of the day. I was also advised that they do a lovely breakfast which we will look forward to trying when we return. I'd like to give a special thank you to Ben and Chloe who looked after us for the duration of our stay, also to Andy and Scott - the Chef's on the day!

Visited the bay horse a few weeks ago with family and had incredible service from Gary so we decided to go again and what a delight it was! The pub was busy but we were able to get a table, the food was excellent but the service was what made our visit that extra bit memorable. Gary went above and beyond for us. One of the meals wasn’t available but he was quick to offer an alternative which was really good. He really is an asset to the Bay Horse. Will definitely be returning.

I visited yesterday with my family, we sat down and had a meal, there was a few of us. We were served by Josh, he was polite and well mannered. Our fussy family order was no trouble to him either! Our meals arrived and they was lovely, sizzling hot, we couldn’t be more happier. Lovely atmosphere and staff all well mannered. Thank you again for making our visit great. I’ll definitely be back!! We visited here as it is close to where my parents live and it use to be a great place to have dinner, this time however it was awful. The food was badly cooked and nowhere near value for money. The Mac and cheese was burnt dry around the edges but stoggy and under cooked in the center. The fajita wrap came with half filled tiny plastic containers of salsa, cheese ect and was seven thin slices of chicken that the manager laughing claimed was a full chicken breast. ( The chickens around here must be the size of sparrows). Scampi was reformed and tasteless. This was also undercooked. The children's burger was also awful.

Went to the bay horse for food last night with family. The food was excellent, was served by Gary. He was very attentive nd friendly. What an asset to the pub! He couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely be returning.

Well i never been in the pub trade for 20 years an wot a amazing gem walked into the pub was greated with a smile and a good evening then sat down in nice an busy pub full people talking to each other not staring into phones ordered some drinks at the bar an food all came out in good time saying that the pub was very busy chefs did the pub so proud amazingly cooked food an couldnt ask for more felt like i had gone back 15 years not felt like that in a pub for long time credit to all the staff and the management will be back for deffo.

We haven’t visited the pub for a number of years due to bad past experiences with the food. However, as the pub seemed to have changed hands a few times since we regrettably decided to give it a try.

we regularly visit this pub when were in the area and always met with very friendly staff and very helpful. beer garden is brilliant on a sunny day but on our last visit we were somewhat disappointed. there are tables outside to sit 80 people but we couldn't get a seat. only 31 chairs in total although there must have been 50 or so stacked up behind the shed broken. lots of tables were totally empty and it was far too warm to sit inside so decided to go elsewhere where we had a lovely meal and nice outside surroundings. could potentially cause lots of people to leave. we saw several people on the same day do the same as us and walk out before dining.

Dropped in for a casual visit and was greeted in the most wonderful way by Richard behind the bar and served by Ryan who never seems to stop. Was so impressed with our tables order ( American Platter, Ultimate Mixed Grill and Pepperjack Burger) I felt compelled to ask who cooked this most insatiable feast and i was informed it was Carl so thank you chef Carl. Will definitely recommend to family friends and even people whom I don't like so thank you guys. Put a fork in me, I'm done !

We recently visited the bay horse as it was local to some family, although I had never been. I was greeted by a nice man at the bar named Ben in which I had a great conversation with, he was friendly and also had a good humour. The food was pleasant and the servers were great. I will definitely visit again now I know how nice of a pub it is

It was busy when we went in due to a band playing, however the service was prompt and excellent. We were served by a gentleman named Ben, who was very friendly, polite and served everyone very quickly. Visit the bay horse a few days ago with a group of friends for food & drinks. Was served by a gentleman called Gary (assistant manager I believe), he was very friendly and gave great customer service. Couldn’t fault any of the meals we ordered, even opted for a pudding! Will definitely be back.

This is our local and we are so lucky. We have had many meals which have always been lovely. The atmosphere is always good, especially if there is a band on. People up dancing and having a great time, lovely to see. Staff are always welcoming, friendly and work hard. They seem to have a good team and all work well together. They are a credit to the manager. New staff are always well picked to fit in with the team and locals. Ben often serves us and always has time for a chat. It makes us feel very welcome. The beer garden is one of the best around and I think they have won awards for it. Definitely worth a visit. Wish I was there now.

arrived at 6pm on Friday, and it was very busy no avalaible table so hung around for 10 minutes and hey prestto. ordered food at the bar and it soon arrived. the 4 of us had mixed grill, surf and turf, hunters chichen and crispy sweet chilli beef and we upgraded the steaks to 9oz ribeyes. everything was perfect, very nice meal indeed. the bar seemed a bit kaotic but otherwise no problem whatsoever, definately go back again. after we had eaten and partly to free up a table for other people wishing to dine we went into to very nice beer garden area which was also very busy. this pub is worth a visit but you may be well advised to book a table specially on a Friday or weekend. if youare in the AA you can get 20% discount off your total bill if you open a tab at the bar and have the AA app on your phone. big saving.ps this is a sizzling pub, it also has good car parking facilities

Came here for first time today. Judging by reviews we expected a good experience. It was one of the worse pub lunches I've ever had. Firstly, the staff got order wrong. When the food arrived my heart sank. The food was very poor. No effort in quality or presentation. Measly portions. Ordered tikka - half meal missing including salsa and chutney. Popadoms inedible. Complained to duty manager who didnt know what he was doing. He was apologetic but didnt offer a replacement or alternative. Very poor customer service. Never again.

visited yesterday with friends and the food was amazing, as were the staff. it was a very nice atmosphere and the portions were all sized well, very good for vegetarian & vegan customers aswell. 10/10 recommend

amazing food, amazing atmosphere and all round excellent, the staff were polite and were willing to alter our food to our personal preference. Definitely going back 100% recommend.

I went yesterday for my birthday lunch with three other friends, we were quickly served drinks and within a matter of 5-7 minutes our starters had came they were delicious, warm and it was a good sized portion. Our mains arrived and we had no problem with any of them they were once again warm, tasty and fairly portioned. A member if staff checked back within minutes and we had no complaints. Overall it was an amazing lunch and I would like to compliment a particular member of staff, Emma as she was very helpful as we were slightly picky eaters but still catered to our every needs. I would 10/10 recommended to anyone trying different puns in the area.

my grandsons always ask can we come to the bay horse to eat as a treat,we have been coming here for a long time now so i suggested having a change. But they wanted to eat here so a party of 9 of us came for early tea . All i can say is every thing we ordered was cooked to perfection thanks to the head chef and 4 adults plus 5 children went home with full bellies.No doubt next time we go to our caravan we will be eating at the bay horse again thanks to all the staff and the head chef.

Awful! Really awful! Food over cooked, then left to go cold and then brought to the table. Poor quality!

Was greeted with a warm welcome on arrival by the waiting on staff, the service was excellent and the food was piping hot, my friend had the haddock which he said was the best he’d had in a long time, cooked and battered to perfection, I had the Mexican chicken which was also very tasty, thank you to the chefs I think it might of been Carl and Scott, or something along those lines ?, will most definitely be returning

Food at the bay horse was excellent and great value for money, obviously the chefs here must take the credit, food was served nice and warm , also the food was served on a warm plate which is a must in my opinion, well done everyone, staff are all so friendly

A really great place for a pint or two & enjoy the regular entertainment live music is something they have started to offer in a regular basis.

4 of us including a child went for a meal, was a lovely meal in peaceful surroundings. Thank you....

came on opening night of the new menu with my partner and children and the pub with thriving. Nice and sunny bear garden but chose to eat inside the restaurant. My partner tried the new pepper jack chicken which was delicious and i had the eastern trio which was very filled but yummy. Food was at great standard and the new sundaes were ace! We were told 30/45 minute wait for our food yet got it within 25 minutes. Will be back to try the rest of the new dishes.

Me & my partner both ordered a Hunter’s chicken. When the meals arrived, the chicken it’s self was hot & lovely but the chips on the side were stone cold. I also didn’t realise how hot the plate was & burnt my finger, resulting to running it under cold water. The young gentleman didn’t warn me about the plate being hot. I wanted a Pepsi drink with my meal but was informed there wasn’t any & had to settle for Pepsi Max instead. We both had an ice cream for dessert & that was lovely. But I don’t think that we will be returning anytime soon.

Visited on a Friday tea time and the place was 'jumping' . Managed to find a table though. We have eaten/drank here over the last 37 years so are well accustomed as what to expect. We have under its current guise tried several dishes off the current menu with some hit and miss. However, awhile ago we discovered the sizzling chicken fajitas and this is what we order whenever we dine. They are delivered to the table piping hot and of good quantity and quality. We usually go for a couple of starters as well, on this occasion choosing the beer battered mushrooms and a new dish- torpedo prawns, both of which were very good.

Came here Sunday all ok but average food. I ordered chicken tikka but it was average and a very small portion. Surroundings were nice and service good. Beer was good but I suppose as with a lot of these chains they try to do as cheaply as possible, hence small portions and average taste. Probably not bother again although the place itself is good for a nice drink.
