Pretty Decent pub with some drinks being on the more pricey side at times and also there can be quite a rowdy crowd outside in the beer garden now and then. Pub owner is really nice. Food is great and the drinks tasting brilliant.

Friendly locals, friendly atmosphere, dog-friendly in the front area and outside seating area under cover!

Although the staff were friendly and accommodating, unfortunately can not say the same about the manager/ owner, a friend of his was in distress and really needed help from someone, but he was outside the bar laughing and joking and egging his friend to take his live, I will never go back to the squash in knot end, this poor man needed help and all he could think about was taking his money, on that basis I wouldn't even give it one star rating.

Very good burger, well presented, good sized portion. The place was very clean and well kept, including the toilets.

I've known this place for many years and always thought it was a nice little place so yeah it's definitely worth a visit. Plus I've known Steve since early days when I used to empty his commercial bins years ago.

Thank you to lynne and Steve who put on a fabulous buffet for our relatives who came from USA. They also stayed in the accommodation above the squash which was amazing and very reasonably priced. The food and atmosphere was excellent. It ended the holiday from our relatives perfect..10 STARS

Food is really nice, landlord always cheery and welcoming,

10 of us turned up for lunch arranged by one of the group who lives in knott end. Pre ordered to try and make it easier for staff to prepare. Had a separate room to ourselves. All food was really enjoyed by the 10 of us and hopefully we will meet up again in the future. Fish and chips where really good. Liver and onions etc was enjoyed by those who had it. All good size portions and at a very reasonable price.

Love this pub when we visit camping. Always friendly and welcoming with good drinks. Wish it was our local.

Great Pub Very busy on a Saturday afternoon. We were passing through and stayed in for half a dozen at least. A very local boozer but really welcoming to any new faces. Being Lancastrian it's the welcome we are used to. Really well kept Guinness, what's not to like. Bar staff were spot on too.

Enjoyed a festive meal with a social group here - food was decent. Had a set menu so not sure of other menu choices. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Another year & another festive meal - friendly staff, reasonable prices.

Just popped in to watch the Liverpool match while we're staying at a campsite near by - landlord was so welcoming and we all had the food which was amazing, seriously so good (special mention to the steak cooked in Guinness and the broccoli bake) - would definitely come back if we're in the area again

The squast is great we were in the apartment over the bar really good spotless clean and very comfy £50 per night the food from the bar downstairs looks gorgeous we are staying for 3 nights

I've lived near here for 4 years and never visited this pub. Doesn't look attractive on the outside and I like the pretty country pubs. I expected it to be rough looking inside. I couldn't have been more wrong. Totally modern and fresh interior. Nice bar area and lovely dining area at the back. Quite the tardis. So more fool me for discounting this little gem of a pub. Menu Basic not a huge selection. However the food was hot, tasty and great value. All in all, a positive experience. Brill 👍🏻

Called in for a Friday evening drink and found it pretty busy. Staff were pleasant and helpful but decor was more like a working mens' club from years gone by. Locals seemed perfectly happy, though.

the meals that are served within the club are really good value and the service is second to none,the meals are plenty full and always fresh veg.

We have visited the squash twice this week..excellent food good service. Good value for money..shame we didn't go when we first moved into the area. 5 stars..

First visit. Much better than thought it would be. Several rooms provide functional spaces. Tvs dominate probably due to mostly male clientele. Food served is credited as very good although service hours are limited to lunchtimes. It is basic in terms of table and chairs, cafe like would be good description.

Good food, good value for money

The decor and layout reminds me of a 1970s working mens club rather than a pub. On the plus side the staff are great and the place was spotless. The food was OK and reasonably priced. The range of beers were the usual mass market keg offerings plus the ubiquitous Doombar. Quite expensive. I think it's fair to say that the Squash attracts a more mature clientele.

Outstanding, top Barman, Steve the establishment is clean and presentable, staff will assist with any requests if only all pubs could have this high customer service
