Food was okay but the drinks (milkshakes) were very disappointing. Looked lovely but were quite tasteless - just milk and syrup. Most other places I have visited use ice-cream in milkshakes. Maybe I'm too fussy? Dog-friendly which was a bonus but wouldn't go back I'm afraid to say.

Nothing is too much trouble for the lovely staff in this Tea Room. My husband has Parkinsons Disease and they are patient when he is slow chosing from the menu and make us feel so welcome, I know I can relax and enjoy my lunch. The food is well priced and freshly cooked and very enjoyable. A lovely place to come to again and again, thank you to everyone involved.

We stumbled across this cafe as we’d parked our car a little away from the seafront- I’m so pleased we did. We were only going to get a coffee as usually ( I’m coeliac) it’s too difficult to find anything that’s gluten free and suitable. I asked the waitress “ do you have anything gluten free” and was pleasantly surprised that they do gluten free bread (for sandwiches) and also had a selection of cakes. We both had scones, jam, butter and cream - which were served warm and were delicious 😋 . The price was reasonable including a coffee or pot of tea. Now I know that I can eat here - I’ll come hungry next time!

We were given a voucher for Christmas for a luxury cream tea. It was valued for 6 months which I thought was fair. We were in Lee so gave them a ring to see if we could go in. So glad we did as it was really good. Plenty of filling in the fresh bread sandwiches. The scone was fresh and tasty and the cake was delicious. We both had coffee and I’m fussy about coffee but it was very nice and it was hot which is not usually the case. So I would highly recommend it.

Popped in for a drink and piece of cake. Sat inside to have a chat with family and had to move outside as couldn't hear waitress or each other due to approx 10 ladies have an alcoholic afternoon tea. I love seeing people enjoying themselves but they took over the whole place. When paying I said I am unable to leave a tip due to the noise and having to move outside and the reply was 'its not our problem nothing we can do.'. I feel a more senior member of staff would have not allowed this or replied in this way. Milkshakes were made with warm milk too, very disappointed with visit.

First visit since before lockdown. Service by the youngsters was excellent. However, very disappointing the menu has not changed and STILL does not serve vegan food. Choices limited to salad 🙄 or jacket potato with beans 😒. They do have oat milk, but you have to pay 30p. Seriously behind the times and not catering for 2022 public. Still also incredibly noisy and having a conversation is near on impossible. Sadly, after 12 years, won't be going back.

Ladies who work there are lovely and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed...however when we arrived we weren’t sure whether it was table service as it was in most places due to Covid. So we went up to the counter to order and were told to go back to the table which is fine, but we were sat for a long time waiting to be served. The coffee didn’t really taste of coffee, it was very weak. They did offer an extra shot for a small price, however in most places the coffee is stronger than that. Cakes were average and very over priced for what they were. Lovely setting, but just wasn’t what I was expecting. Used to be a lot better from what I remember.

Visited for an early lunch & ordered toasted tea cake, chicken, chorizo & cheese toastie as well as a leek & potato soup between us. Service was nice & friendly and the cafe was quite quiet when we got there but got busier as the time passed. Portions of the food are small - the soup filled half the small bowl with 2 slabs of granary bread cut into halves on the side, with 2 cubes of butter. Perhaps it should have been advertised as bread with soup on the side rather than the other way round 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Soup was a bit thin & very bland so I went to get some salt & pepper. The toastie was just on toasted bread with thin slivers of filling & the salad garnish was really just that - a slice each of tomato, cucumber & some cress on top of each other. Overall, very average & a tad overpriced for what you get. Toilet was nice & clean though the hand towels felt cold & wet.

Odered a toasty, sausage & cheese; it came to £6.30 !! Pretty steep for a side-street non-descript cafe toasty, I thought. Even though it's waitress service, I was asked to pay "up front" because, "I was on an outside table", although, the two lads sitting next to me, didn't pay up-front. When I queried this discrepancy, she went all squirmy and a little speachless. Much better value only 3 minutes walk in either direction. The food was average (for the price) as was the decor and the giggling teenagers (staff).

Myself and my friend used to lunch here at least once a month and mostly had the afternoon tea for two. It was always so delicious, but they started using prepackaged clotted cream and pots of jam. This means that the jam and cream ratio to the size of the scones doesn’t work anymore. That, and the other cakes on offer not being that nice has meant that we have stopped going. It’s not worth the money any longer for a round of sandwiches and half a scone.

We arrived at the cafe at about 12.20 and ordered a coffee, a hot chocolate and two toasties. The drinks came very quickly then began the long wait for infamous toasties. After half an hour and drinks finished,I went in to enquire about the whereabouts of the toasties. The lady seemed suprised and said,”oh, you are next”. After another quarter of an hour I decided to go and cancel the order. I saw the waitress approaching with what looked like the fabled toasties. Shocked I went to sit back down and enjoy the food. However they were not really worth the long wait and we were disappointed. I appreciate that it was a warm day and the cafe was busy. I would have thought that a member of staff could have come and apologised for the long wait. The waitress just dumped the food down with no sorry for the wait. An apology would have been nice.

Wasn't acknowledged walking into an empty shop. Luke warm, small and weak coffee. Staff uninterested. Plus side, great location and clean.

We wanted somewhere to meet for our regular coffee and catch-up and my friend suggested The Tea Room as she had been before and said I would like it. Easy to find and plenty of parking. She had a slice of cake and I had a sandwich. Well I wish we had gone for lunch! The choices from the menu were great and the display of cakes was wonderful. We really enjoyed our food but I was enviously looking around at what others had chosen. The staff were lovely and friendly but my only criticism would be that they could be more generous with their coffee. A medium cappuccino came on a very small cup. Even though it was a beautiful cup and saucer there wasn't much in it. Will definitely be going back soon for lunch. It doesn't have the views of other local cafes but the ambiance and quality makes up for that.

Oh dear. I loved this Tea Room but on this visit, on Saturday 19th August 2017, the tables are now crammed in and more uniform, instead of looking like mismatched furniture. It's more like a canteen. The cream tea was very disappointing. The scones have shrunk in size and were slightly burned , so the fruit was very sour tasting. The tea was nice but very disappointed with the whole atmosphere and seating. Sorry, won t be recommending you again

Have been here in the past and loved it, but have not been for a couple of years, but was in the area so called in for a late lunch. We both had excellent ham, crispy bacon and cheese toasties, a pot of loose leaf tea for two, and I succumbed to a slice of coffee and walnut cake. When we arrived every table except one was full which we took, but despite this we still received a very speedy service and delicious food. We will be back when next in the area.

We went because of a gift for our 50th wedding anniversary... Had to bring food home for it was too much to eat it all. Excellent FULL sandwiches, Tasty Tasty scones and lush cakes... what more?? ok nit-pick I'd pick a stronger tea brand BUT was piping hot and ok.

Came here for lunch today with 2 friends and their children and I bought my puppy along. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, providing my pup with her own bowl of water and even mopping it up when she knocked it over! Nothing was too much of a bother for them.

Found by accident as most tea rooms close in lee by 4pm, they stayed open till 5pm, let us in with 8 minutes to go. We got two lovely cakes, GF for Mrs B chocolate and beetroot & I had just chocolate, very moorish indeed and lovely uppa & espresso to boot.

Really nice lunch here and very popular! Sadly, this does mean you may not be able to get a seat straight away and it can be quite noisy inside as it's a small place but we will keep coming back again and again because the food is so nice here and it's very lovely to have loose leaf tea in real bone china. Keep up the good work!

Went with a friend. First time I had been there. Very clean and the food was delicious. A little dearer than usual but the quality was good. We did not feel at all rush as we enjoyed food and a chat.

Ordered Coffees' and orange juice & 2 Toasted sandwiches at 12:05 as printed on the receipt. Serving staff member was friendly and drinks arrived promptly. At exactly I 12:30 I politely asked if the Toasties' where going to take much longer and was told they are on the way. At 12:38 I informed different staff member at cash till that we are not prepared to wait any longer. An offer of free further drinks and an apology was offered but I felt the apology was insincere and so asked for a refund. This lack of genuine regret on her part was then underlined by then taking further time to calculate our refund minas the drinks that we had while we had been kept waiting. The reason given for the delay was quite possibly the worst excuse that can be given to a customer in a restaurant. " We are very busy". To this problem, I am happy to help this establishment with in the future !

We had the afternoon tea for one....in fact it was large enough that we could share one. It was very nice. Only slight criticism was that the orange and chocolate cake was too sweet. A lovely tea room

Well I turned up half an hour before its advertised closing time to the evident annoyance of the staff. Tried ignoring me and when that didnt work reluctantly served me and forced me to listen to a rant about how they were just about to close. The finale to this performance was deliberately putting the cup of coffee as far away as possible on the counter. My tip if you want to close early shut the door and put up a closed sign. Absolute height of rudeness. The coffee was ok

Had trouble finding the Country Park but once we had, afternoon tea & ice cream were a must in this little cafe. The ice-cream is just fantastic - you must try the UNICORN flavour!

Under new Management since around May, seen a few Landlords/Landladies over the years, but the latest seem to be struggling getting things right! Firstly it was teething problems then it was the Euro’s, but what use is a Bar with no beer & soft drinks?? They seem to be consistently running out of beer, wine, spirits & soft drinks. On one of the visits there was only 2 pumps on, no Pepsi on the gun or soft drinks in cans, vodka. Please don’t presume that the bottles on the optics are House Spirits, check price before requesting, especially as the splash is even more than requesting say half of Pepsi. Prices are consistently changing from day to day. Wine selection is not great, that is if they have any. Pool table is not in the greatest place, especially at one part of the bar. I do believe they also have The Tap across the water, never been, so only comment I can make is that if it is run the same way as the The Five Alls I will not be visiting in future.
