My son and I only had about half an hour for lunch before I had to catch a train, so I checked with the waitress and she said that would be fine - and she kept her word! We sat outside and I had a jacket potato and my son a panini, both delicious and served with a fresh salad garnish. The portions were really generous, I gave my son a bit of my tuna!! We would have liked to stay for cake but hadn't time, so the very kind waitress said she would pack us up our choice of cake so we could just chill and take it with us. My carrot cake was humungous!! But so well packed in a box complete with fork and napkin. My son's almond slice was in a paper bag and easy for him to take in the car. The prices were reasonable and the staff so very kind and welcoming, we would highly recommend the Tea Cosy.

Walked into this cafe on a Tuesday afternoon only to be greeted at the door by a rude lady who informed us they shut at 3pm, the time was 2.45! But it was made very clear we were not welcome. Don’t worry we took our business across the road to ‘The Hub’ for a warm welcome, great coffee and cake. What a difference obviously they want to succeed and appreciate the business!

We celebrate a70th birthday here. It was amazing, they went all out. Made beautiful glutton free cakes just to accommodate our different intolerance. The afternoon tea was the best I've ever had. Beautiful cakes, lovely sandwiches, all hand made. All serviced on lovely china cake trays with bone china tea service. I would highly recommend if your looking for a great afternoon tea experience, this is the place to be.

Visited this cafe with 2 friends and their little ones. Cake & hot chocolate were nice and staff friendly & happy to accommodate our children in the small space! My only struggle was the glass table top. With a baby who loves to bang anything she can grab hold of on a surface it was slightly ear splitting. Sounds silly but as a parent I’m always conscious of my children making too much noise and disturbing others. The menu looked delicious so maybe I will return without the children 😉💖

We visited "The Tea Cosy" for a quick lunch today my wife had homemade Red pepper and Wensleydale soup with a brown roll, my father in law had Tuna and mayonnaise sandwiches which came with a side salad and crisps with an orange juice to drink in a good size glass. I had a bowl of homemade carrot and coriander soup with a brown roll with a pot of English breakfast tea. There was enough tea for 2 1/2 cups in a lovely China cup and saucer. Although the cafe was extremely busy they did find space for us. All the members of staff were friendly and courteous and food was served with no delay. I would recommend you visit when in Nettleham or the surrounding villages.

Visited with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. Although a Saturday lunchtime visit, we had asked for afternoon tea. We were quite a large party (in number, that is, although after delicious cakes, rather larger in size too!!) and we arrived to find our tables reserved and nicely set. Tea and coffee were plentiful, with regular top ups and we were given cake stands laden with delicious treats. We had a good variety of sandwiches, including egg mayonnaise, cheese and pickle, tuna and cream cheese and cucumber. All were generously filled and seemed to disappear rather quickly! Next came warm, fluffy scones with jam and cream, they were delicious. Mel served a number of scrumptious, home made cakes. My favourite was the coffee and walnut, although they all looked extremely tempting. There was Victoria sponge, Bakewell tart and several other tasty looking cakes. All portion sizes were good, not the usual, one mouthful you often get with afternoon tea. All staff were friendly and service was excellent. We stopped to ask directions and the couple had just been in to The Tea Cosy and told us they had just had the best English breakfast. The cafe closes at 2pm on a Saturday, and around 1.55 three people came in, instead of being turned away, they were quite happily served tea and scones. I would highly recommend a visit and I will be going back again soon.

Nettleham is the most beautiful village with a beck and ducklings, a real picture postcard village, therefore I felt it would be somewhere nice to take my friend. The staff and atmosphere were very good, however the soup was £3;50 with bread. I saw the bread being taken out of a package which was priced at 6 rolls for £1, it was nothing special, the soup was ok. The coffee and walnut cake had a weird fishy taste, I had one mouthful and could not eat the rest, my friend tried it and said she didn't like it either, her lemon cake did taste nice. I was not charged for the cake, the waitress did apologise and say she didn't make that cake, other reviews are all good so maybe this was an off day?
