The Tea Bay in South Lanarkshire

I went with friends and found the staff seemed nice to start with but seemed irritated when I asked a Question about ingredients. After that every contact we had after that was met with rolling eyes and hostility.

Absolutely excellent, food, service, coffee and value for money. Home baking and tablet delicious well worth a visit

Love this traditional tea room , owner and staff always very welcoming, food fresh , great variety , and the cakes are delicious , always something different on offer , truly is Cambuslang’s gem .

Called in for the second time with my family to have lunch. Was welcomed like an old friend. Setting is beautiful, lovely menu at very reasonable prices. Angeline is a fantastic host and was very kind and friendly. The food was delicious, everything home made. Beautiful cakes, excellent coffee and fudge. However, its the Owner and Staff that make this place, we will definitely return.

We found this tea room when waiting to pick up my son from the station, it is small inside with a few tables. We were asked for our order without seeing a menu, there was a little huff when we asked to look see it. Placed our order, whilst we waited we couldn't help but hear the general conversation between who looked to be the owner and two other patrons, it made us feel uncomfortable as they were gossiping about other locals in the community. We understand people gossip but it is not ideal when you have others waiting for their food. When our order arrived, it was placed on the table with no conversation. We were made to feel unwelcome and awkward, maybe because we were not part of the local scene, we ate quickly and left. Disappointing as it could attract a lot of customer from the station.

Every time you open the door the warmest of welcomes await Angeline always has a smile and nothing is too much trouble The food is 1st class simple menu but warm & hearty food the home baking is truly awesome You want to feel at home pop in and you most definitely will feel at home

Not been in for a long time due to family illness but nothing has changed Still freshly prepared food served by polite and caring staff. Excellent fresh coffee She go to an impersonal coffee chain when you can support a local business which is friendly and offers excellent food and coffee

Lovely little tea room which I visit almost daily. Great atmosphere and friendly, welcoming staff who always have time to chat, no matter how busy they are. Great selection of delicious home made scones and cakes. Tablet served with tea and coffee. Lovely decor and everything spotless. Good value for money. Cannot fault it. A 'must' for anyone wanting a decent lunch or coffee in Cambuslang.

We had a lovely lunch at Tea Bay on Tues 12th Feb 2020 we where made very welcome. There was 4 of us and we all enjoyed our lunch I had a nice vegan sanwich. The service was 10 out of 10 very friendly owner and staff . Wee Elizabeth did a great job and was a lovely girl. It was like lunch with friends although we just met. Thankyou so much hope to visit again Maureen

A small welcoming tea house on the high street. The staff always make you feel special as they serve you a good quality leaf tea and wonderful home made soup, sandwiches and sweet treats. This venue is obviously well support by the friendly locals and we highly recommend a visit if your in Cambuslang...

Needed a cuppa on a hot day and found this little place. Proper tea leaf tea and excellent home made pancakes. Owner friendly and obviously has regular clientele who were having a good banter. Loo spotless.

Love this place for an enjoyable quick cup of tea or coffee and home made baking....toasties and French toast are also great.....but more important than the food is the homely atmosphere provided by staff and customers. Give it a visit you won’t regret it!

When I walked in, I asked about breakfast and the owner came up from the back and said no problem. They told me to sit down. Brought me a lovely cup of fresh coffee and about 10 mins later the owner came with my food. As the place was small, we could talk and I was able to ask different tourist type questions. She was very knowledgeable about Scottish history. She also helped me with the directions to my meeting. Great time and great food.

The small tea house is prettily decorated in pastel colours and even in the little loo the fabrics are light and high quality with Lomond soap for washing hands with.

This was my first visit to this excellent little tea room. The food was freshly prepared and served by welcoming and friendly staff. I will certainly be visiting again

Have been to the tea bay a few times. Always a warm friendly atmosphere. Food is delicious and home made. Worth popping in for a cosy lunch.

Lovely lunch of home made food . Spotlessly clean . The menu is small but ample with a good selection of food. I would have given 5 /5 , the only downside is the size . It is very small .

Stopped here for lunch today. Had home made soup and a sandwich, so good I had to have two bowls. My wife had a toastie with some home made coleslaw on this side which was very light and fruity. Overall the standard of food was outstanding, staff were very friendly and local as are we. Great value for money. Highly recommend, little gem.

This place is a little hidden gem on Cambuslang Main st. A beautifully quaint little place, the décor is lovely , the food and homemade cakes so tasty and the staff very friendly.

Como dueño de un salón de té, me encantó cuando entré en este precioso lugar. Tiene un ambiente acogedor que te hace sentir al instante bienvenido. Yo opté por un bocadillo tostado pollo y taza de té. El té se sirve en una taza de porcelana con una estufa de té para mantener el té caliente. Sin duda recomiendo el té de Bahía si estás buscando un lugar estupendo para comer.

Lovely little tearoom conveniently placed next to Cambuslang railstation. Good selection of teas and coffee (I had a latte). I did not have food but good selection of breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes, as well as a selection of cakes & scones. Angeline, the owner, is very friendly - almost feels like you're sitting in her farmhouse kitchen, lol. Would definitely recommend.

Great wee spot! As always searching for a place with good coffee, these gals have nailed it. Great cup of coffee is always served here. Have one of their home made cakes along with it, bliss. Great cafe, lovely staff, the owner is always buzzing and happy to speak to customers and make them feel welcome.

A beautiful little cafe that I go to regularly with family members. Food is all delicious especially the homemade soup and cakes! The empire biscuits are always a treat and only 50p but they do sell out fast! I would definitely recommend a visit here if you are in cambuslang! Lovely friendly staff members who make you feel very welcome. The hot chocolate is the best!!!! X

This was one of the warmest friendliest places we've ever had the pleasure of coming across. In my travels I have rarely come across cakes and coffee so good and service and atmosphere so close, yet so well balanced and calming, warm and welcoming.

A wonderful little place, so glad I found it!The menu is small, soup and sandwiches with lots of cake and scones, the range is exactly what you would expect from a small cafe and all the food is to the highest standard.I had a scone (home baked by the owner) which was just great, as good as I have had anywhere. Had a Diet Coke, they carry all normal soft drinks as well as San Pellegrino Italian drinks too. I also had a hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream, which was delicious - real whipped cream on it too! - and the lady working behind the counter gave me a free top up when I was halfway through, because she had some left!My partner had lentil and bacon soup, which looked wonderful and was presented beautifully and with crusty bread, he said it tasted great too (I'm veggie, unfortunately no veggie soup option although I think it varies from day to day), an Irn Bru and Earl Grey tea. I did try the Earl Grey, which was wonderful - loose leaf and a great flavour, light and fruity and refreshing.The cafe itself is warm and inviting, decor is beautiful and real china plates etc, lots of lovely pictures and slogand on the walls, all very cosy.The owner was amazing, friendly and chatty and sent us away with an extra scone and sample cakes she had baked herself! The little samples were lemon sponge, millionaire's shortbread and some really nice light chocolate brownie bites, all lovely.We got tablet with our tea and chocolate too - absolutelyspoiled, everything was great and will definitely be there again when visiting Cambuslang! Visited the Tea Bay with my wife and daughter both of whom enjoyed it immensely. Home baking is superb and great friendly service. The town has been crying out for a place like this. You will not be disappointed.

I have tried this café several times. I love the fresh tea and scones and the lady who owns the shop is a lovely person, very chatty and helpful. It is a little gem in Cambuslang.

Nice wee cafe with lovely proper tea, and tasty homemade cakes. I hadn't tried any of the savoury options but they look nice

Had tea and cake in the Tea Bay today and so enjoyed it, cake was served with fresh strawberries they even put lovely handmade tablet on my saucer, lovely china cup saucer and plate, it is so clean and such a pleasure to sit in, loved my visit and will go again.

My wife and me have been in a few times now. Cracking place, lovely food, all freshly made. Relaxing atmosphere, the staff are all exceptionally friendly. Just what Cambuslang needed.

This has just recently opened in Cambuslang, tastefully decorated, staff very polite & friendly lovely atmosphere something's on the menu a bit pricey, but worth it for the sevice you recieve

Been a few times since opening and cannot fault it in any way from the very friendly owner and her staff , the baking is all homemade fab coffee and the tablet is delicious tea room spotless and food always presented well and reasonable prices would certainly recommend
