Great food and a lovely pub with happy and helpful staff. Good selection of beers. Just wish the car park was bigger but that is a very minor criticism.

We order two steaks they were cooked beautifully. The pub is run well. The atmosphere is amazing and every is lovely so warm and welcoming. I couldn't fault anything we have been back many times for just drinks and for food. I Def recommend the roasts

The pub is well presented, the burger was not great, or the dessert especially for the cost.

Just had an amazing Sunday lunch with friends and family, the carvery was out of this world, the kids stake was lovely and cooked perfect. The children nuggets; we’ll never seen a kid eat so fast. And to top it all my son said he was full and couldn’t eat any more. The deserts were just as good. Definitely a place to eat at.

A fabulous pub, well kept gardens with a lovely play area for children aged 10 or under. Superb Sunday carvery, that is excellent value for money (£11 95). Mid week, my husband and I had lasagne, cheesy garlic bread, and a seafood linguine that was delicious. The Tavern has live bands and open Mike nights. I can not recommend this gem highly enough. Excellent value for money, great place to hang out with friends and family.

First time here very friendly staff quick and efficient. we had a carvery and a couple of meals off the menu it was all amazing honestly never had a roast like it and the meals from the menu arrived as we sat down for the cavery so no angry children its a 10 from len

Great food, well priced. We had the meatballs, curry, steak pie and bolognese, all were very good. We finished with some sundaes and a cheesecake.

Drink? Rattler (guaranteed crowd pleaser) Food? Sausage and mash, pretty excellent. Service? Guy at till perfectly proficient. Niamh, if ever she moves to Northamptonshire I'll hire her. Absolute soldier. Venue? Wow! Superb. Diverse. So much going on. Sad I had to leVe before the live music began (too much Rattler) I'll be back.

Looking for evening meal while staying in Newquay, found tavern on Internet a short drive from b@b. Good service ,good food,friendly place ,would recommend.

A friendly welcome, the carvery was amazing and reasonably priced, the deserts were amazing, best cheesecake I have had in a long time. Would definitely recommend. It’s a hidden gem xx

Good food. Found off the beaten track. Was raining when we visited but we all said what a great beer garden to spend an afternoon in the sun. If you're in the area, it's well worth a visit.

The burger was the same standard as you would get in a Carboot sale. I would recommend that you avoid this place if you like good quality food.

Such a lovely place and delicious food. The prices are affordable, and the food was very tasty. The carvery was delicious. And the portions were good. The atmosphere was great . They are dog friendly, and the service was spot on .

Been today total disgusting argument with to customers the language was disgusting not the bar staff or nobody did anything we felt uncomfortable and left as we was going to eat thier would not recommend it after wot we witnessed today

Wished we had found the Tavern earlier in the week. We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed as soon as we arrived. A very nice hostesses looked after us, and we had a lovely meal and a drink. Even our little dog was treated to some personal pampering.

Nice pub to watch any sports you are looking for, great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Good selection of beers and generally a good friendly welcoming pub

What a great place very friendly staff and all customers speak and pass the time of day with you... the food where do I start its amazing, very fresh cooked when ordered, not made earlier and kept warm. The fish is like a whale, nicest fish and chips iv ever had , Can't wait to go back

Completely taken aback by this absolutely massive, hidden tavern. You'd blink and miss it coming through Newquay but trust me don't miss it. Whilst it's very much got a locals pub feel about it, the service was incredibly friendly and they were more then happy to answer our 1000 questions. We ordered 2 mixed grills at an okay price. The value is definitely in the portion size. Accompanied by MUST EAT!!! onion rings. The chicken burger comes in the same batter as the onion rings. It was so big at first we cut it open thinking it was fish. Don't worry it wasn't. And the crispy juicy chicken surrounded by the crunchy light batter was fantastic. The only gripe, and it's only a little one, is the peppercorn sauce was a waisted order. Thin and very bland. Only thing that stopped this being a five star review. But please please please, go and try the travel inn. You won't regret it. 2 mixed grills, 1 chicken burger, side of garlic bread and 3 pints of coke £80

Great old local pub hidden away in amongst new housing. Not the first word in terms of style or charm, but the food was excellent and generous, and the staff (and locals) friendly. Definitely head back there next time I am in Newquay. Better than anything on the main drag.

Had a beautiful meal here this evening. Nice atmosphere and lovely staff. Plenty of food choices, big portions and we all enjoyed what we had: Tex Mex burger, lasagne x2, child's burger, chips & beans, side of chips.

Overall good experience with live music; we ordered pizzas and a few drinks which was overall good. They also offered parking.

We had a table of 7 on we all went for the carvery it was lovely they had turkey, gammon, lamb and beef on as well as a great selection of vegetable options like red cabbage, creamed leeks, carrot and swede, broccoli cauliflower cheese and more. The food was cooked well and we all loved it a couple of us managed desserts as well. The desserts were lovely and lots to choose from. They gave all the mums a bunch of daffodils which was a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend it.

My husband & I had the most delicious Christmas meal on 24th December on our Xmas break. Fabulous meal, great service from Kelly who booked it for me & Simon who was a very attentive waiter. Our dog was made welcome & the atmosphere was warm & cosy. 5 stars from us! 😁🐶👍🍽😋

Happily accommodated 16 of us for a birthday celebration carvery lunch. Incredible food, cosy atmosphere and friendly staff.

Had an amazing dinner. Staff popped over a couple of times to make sure everything was ok. Dog was spoilt with treats too.

Good family run venue with good selection of wine,cider and ales. Something for everyone on the menu and they offer taste worthy homemade lasagne and lemon meringue cheesecake that where perfectly created to perfection. This place is a laid back pub that welcomes children and dogs with good display of t.v screens for sports and if you go on a Saturday night you might be fortunate enough to get some live music. Ample seating for large family gatherings. They don't offer table service as you will need to order at the bar. Nice clean toilets which is always a good reflection on the state of restaurants kitchens so 10/10 from me. This place is well worth a visit if you have children and want a nice local with cosy homemade pub grub. I visited with my family of 6 hard to please diner's and we all came away pleasantly surprised by this lucky find.

Quiet pub with lots of outdoor seating and car park. Off the beaten track but worth finding! Good traditional pub menu. Good choice of beers.

Ribs were dry and lasagna very little flavour, however calamari starters were very nice .

Booked table for a rare family occasion whilst visiting my parents in Newquay. Reservation was made on Thursday for Sunday lunch for 6 people at 2pm. Although the reservation was confirmed, upon arrival we were told that our table had been taken by a different group who had only just started eating. We asked to sit at a different table but even though there were other tables free we were told they had been reserved for others and we were left standing in a gang way by the bar for 20mins until our table was vacated. After finally sitting down we were told the carvery would not be ready for 15 mins because they needed to cook vegetables. Family member then went to bar to order drinks only to be told they had neither types of beer they wanted, plus they had no Pimm's. None of the adults in the party were able to purchase the drink they wanted. After queuing for the carvery, it was 3:15pm by the time we started eating (more than an hour after our booking). Another party had booked the table for 4pm so had to rush our meal. The food was ok but nothing special. Do not visit if you have a wheelchair user. Disabled toilet is not accessible by wheelchair (need to get up a couple of steps). WiFi credentials displayed behind bar didn't work. Not a great experience at all. There are much better places to visit in Newquay.

Lovely little find whilst we waited to go to the airport. Food was delicious, service was great. Staff very pleasant and polite.

Rang first to book a table for 8 for a small post wedding meal and was told that no bookings were being taken and to just turn up and we would be seated. So come the day, looking forward to a nice meal, we arrived and explained what we had been told. Only to be told that they did not have a table to suit 8 guests. We asked if they could maybe put 2 tables together and after a sigh they arranged this albeit with 2 very small tables. we ordered our starters and main meals and awaited their arrival with anticipation. What happened next totally threw me as never experienced any thing like it in any pub before. The meals kept coming and filled the entire table. Thinking a mistake had been made we asked why ? "At peak times and when we're busy, we always serve the starters and main meals together" (there were'nt many people in ), And with an abrupt retort the lady said "It says on the menu "and strode off. Leaving us astounded. some left the starters because the main meals were getting cold. Was'nt even impressed by the quality of the food. I believe the woman was the landlady. Still astounded and will never darken the Tavern again.

The Tavern Inn is a lovely place to eat and drink a great place to meet with a large car park . I spent 4 hours in their outside garden area in the sun chatting eating and drinking a lovely place. I will return.

bit disappointed as it’s a dog friendly pub but nine of us came to dine with one very well behaved dog,and weren’t allowed to sit in the restaurant. had to sit in the lounge bar on two separate tables. we had rang up to book a tables as it was a large party but they wouldn’t accept bookings…first come first served. food was a bit of a let down as a few ordered the special …bbq ribs. they were chewy and didn’t fall off the bone. the fish and chips came out worst…really disappointing piece of fish. especially as we had dined at the smugglers den inn the night before…the fish and chips there were on a different level. took us ages to find this pub as the sat nav took us all over the place…never done so many three point turns!

Our second visit to The Tavern and on both occasions we weren't disappointed. Superb food and reasonably priced (it works for us), check out them Halloumi fries (best we have ever had), see you next time!

We been coming to this pub for awhile the food has allways been spot on. But on this occasion when we been there today was big let down, we ordered some bbq ribs and they both dry , and after we order a pizza which is our favourite, ordered the all meat pizza and apart from the sausage on the pizza everything's else was either undercooked or not cooked at all in case of the chiken on the pizza. Unfortunately we won't be back at this establishment as this put us off badly.

Visited here today for Sunday lunch whilst staying on the area. myself and my son and the 2 x carveries and 2 x desserts for 13.95. Husband had a burger and daughter kids meal. Can't complain about the food at all. Was good quality and good value for money. All staff very welcoming and friendly. All facilities tidy and clean. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you!

Good affordable quality food 👌 😋

My grandad booked this for a restaurant meal out for the final night of our holiday in the area. We expected it to be more of a general restaurant atmosphere, however there was a live band playing and many people drinking and dancing at the bar, our mistake! We were the only diners in the restaurant section, so service was very fast and the portions were very big! Despite it being different to what was planned, we still enjoyed the food and left shortly after so we didn't get caught up in a party unexpectedly.

Went for tea today with my family, 7 of us. The food was terrible, it says all home cooked food but doesn’t say when it was cooked. I had mixed grill, all the meat had been previously cooked, hubby had dirty fries, they were so dry, his meatballs wasn’t good, other one had stale and ale pie, that was all hard on edges from microwave. Other had fish n chips, we got wrong chips, after asking twice…. We all didn’t enjoy it, wouldn’t return.

Well what can I say what an atmosphere! Amazing band and the best hit the carvery! Wow! The best carrot swede mash I have ever had! The Yorkshire puddings was amazing!!! The best carvery I have had in Newquay!

Disappointing carvery,everything was lukewarm, mashed swede and carrot watery and blitzed to a pulp,worst roast potatoes ever,and meat carver touched meat with his fingers and served onto plate, not impressed

Lovely pub but please stop serving customers when they are obviously extremely drunk !! Serving a customer who can hardly stand and falls over twice .... then having bar staff laughing and filming them on their phone isn't funny !! That particular customer tonight was an absolute pain ,he was continously pushing into women and should have been asked to leave !!! Very disappointed that 2 customers were left to deal with him .
