The Tapas at English's Of Whitstable in Canterbury

This is one of my fav places to go, there is a fantastic selection of places to eat and some beautiful little shops, where you will get good quality merchandise and friendly staff. If you need a present for your nearest and dearest, this is a good place to start your search as there are plenty of different shops to choose from. All the food here in South Quay is amazing, and today I had the katsu loaded fries from Rad Burger, and I was not disappointed, totally recommend this!

Disappointed that aftermany discussions the powers at be are still delaying installing a hearing loop which is in contradiction within the equality act 2010 They are now I believe asking the current tenants if it's a viable idea. Just because it's not a visible disability makes it no less important! Disgraceful!

Fantastic dog friendly place. Best hot chocolate in HatHats. Nice sit down after walking on the prom.

A bit cold and dreary, not a place you would want to linger too long in.

Great airy, spacious place to meet a friend. Fab coffee too.

A lively place for coffee and lunch. The only downside is that dogs are allowed inside, and they did nothing but bark, which spoilt our relaxing lunch.

Excellent large indoor venue for socialising, eating, drinking and browsing. Perfect for the coming winter months when a relaxing venue, away from the harsh elements of Winter, is sorely needed. Lots of varied outlets with cheerful helpful staff. My one criticism is that it is not possible to be away from dogs. My respiratory issues make this a problem. My suggestion is that dogs should be accepted only downstairs so that people who have similar problems with dogs can relax upstairs.

Good place to come for coffee and cake or a full lunch. Plenty to choose from.

Brilliant collection of independent restaurants and shops, we ate at Rad burgers (simply delicious) and we bought some gorgeous locally distilled gin (Whitstable Gin).

An ugly smelly fast food court, that would be better placed in a retail park than marring our lovely harbour. What were they thinking????? Re The response- I didn't say this food hall was dirty I don't know if it is or not- I said it's ugly and smelly. On a busy summers day the smell of cooking fat, meat, chips, etc. extends from the shed along Harbour St down Bexley St and the top of Cromwell Rd. I have sent an email to the address given to try and resolve this issue, but no reply.

Great place for a stroll and if you like seafood this is the place, get there early if you need a parking space

An interesting collection of businesses from burgers to sushi, barbers to paintings. A good space to sit inside, summer tables with views over the harbour, and it seems busy. There's a lift if you can't manage the stairsI Sadly, it appears some businesses have already folded.

The concept was very good , with local crafter's and food producers under one roof . A good place to spend two hours . The food was very good let down by the wait for coffee . I'm sounded like a one off delay as they were two staff down that day.will go back

This place is not used as much as it deserves. Food here is great taste and variety. So glad they re vamped it. Although I don't know why cookie place went ? They were incredible 😍

The bar in here is great! Cheap prices and fun drinks, always a quick service by a cute barman!

Nice contemporary setting. Good food and nice view over the harbour

Many of the outlets in the Shed were closed: this was understandable as it was a Monday at the end of the season. We were able to get a coffee and a good seat looking out over the harbour. The toilets were clean and we'll maintained.

Another hipster haven in Whitstable. Dropped in Saturday night; first visit. There was a band, but we found a spot and chatted to peeps from London (obvs; it's Whitstable, kids 😁), who were very nice. It's all fine, and please see the 4-star review (clearly liked it!), but it does, again, add to the gentrification of the town. London prices, natch.

I visited HatHats Coffee with some female friends and on a Friday morning it was busy with a great vibe. I was served by George who expertly made coffees and a hot chocolate. He was very efficient but also personable and attentive, just what you need in a Barista. Hope to see him on our next visit

Cool little food place. We had a coffee upstairs early in the day, then came back for lunch. I had the curried goat from the Caribbean place & the rest of the group had burgers. Everything was lovely & none of it took too long.

Range of outlets for eating and drinking enabling individuals in group to have different options. Lift available to get to second floor. Toilets in unit. Shopping outlets inside also.seating available to eat in. Wheelchair accessible

Artshed had the most fantastic pieces tile coasters, pottery art work that was stunning.

Lots of nice different shops. Unfortunately there is no hearing loop and it can get very noisy at times.

We came on a Tuesday noon, not crowded. Parking spaces available around 300-500 metres (Requires Ticket)

Good range of different food options and plenty of informal seating, so quite an easy place to visit for food and drink. It's all open plan so can be quite noisy .Views from small balconies of the harbour are lovely.

Second time here. A number of nice food outlets with plenty of seating although upstairs seats by the window are very popular. Decent toilets.

We just went there for a beer which was Beavertown Brewery Neck Oil IPA which was easy and refreshing. The bar crew were good and friendly you could tell you were in a large shed because of the noise level and constant flow of people . There were a number of food outlets and the food looked ok and certainly smelt good.

Only visited quickly , seemed a nice place, few in-house shops and cafe.

A nice place to stop for a hot drink, snack and a rest. Very popular and crowded. Also with good facilities including Accessibility needs. Not all the shops were open when we visited at a weekend. And queues for the Coffee shops were long and slow. Definitely worth stopping at though.

What a brilliant place filled with lovely shops and great eateries. Special shout out for Sooshi, which serves amazing deep fried sushi rolls!

Clean, welcoming and a few interesting small shops inside. Toilets clean too. The coffee stall sells excellent coffee and hot chocolate - if it had a slightly wider range of gluten free foods, it would be marvellous.

So many varied food vendors...definitely worth a visit!

I headed down to Whitstable for the day and we came across this place/shed. It has loads of outlets to buy gifts and food and drink. It was nice and clean and had good views out of windows to the harbour and sea. I decided to eat at Pork & Co which is located outside but you can take the food in. The food from Pork & Co was really nice, and their rosemary chips are the best I’ve ever tasted. I would definitely go back there again.

Nice food court which is new to the harbour. Plenty of choice, burgers sushi nachos ice cream parlour deli. Also has a fe which independent shops selling some lovely items. Toilets too!

Great location - highlight is the Rad burgers - Highly recommend.

Lovely place to park off with your family and friends to grab some nice food. The only thing was the lack of highchairs for baby & toddlers -they had only one in the whole place, which was already taken.

My partner had a vegan burger that he enjoyed a lot, my Mac n cheese with pulled pork on top was very average. Wouldn't recommend. The cocktails were a bit pricey but really tasty.

Views of the harbour. All outlets (except for HatHat) are pricey. Appear to cater more for London visitors rather than local persons

Good selection of foods, excellent bar and really nice outdoor seating area. A great addition to the Harbour. And the first Friday night quiz went down a storm. Sold out with 18 tables, get your team's in quickly for April!

I always come here if visiting Whitstable. A pleasant place to sit and have a coffee while watching the world go by, overlooks the harbour. There are a couple of eateries inside and some nice arty shops to look at.

Love what they have done here and all the shops inside. We visited Rad burger and the food was faultless along with service. Their burgers are full of flavour and the rosemary chips are amazing.

Excellent coffee from hat hats Visit spoilt by almost constant yapping of dogs. I accept that dog owners have every right to use the space but 99% of them can control their dogs. There are always exceptions who do not seem to have any consideration for others.

Good space in lively Whitstable Harbour. Great art shops. Quirky fun art, too. Friendly and helpful. Get a coffee and a bite to eat. Found 2 mirrors. I had been looking for a year for what I wanted.

Really nice facility, lots of great little art/craft shops and food/drink outlets. Nice clean toilet facilities. Great atmosphere to stop for lunch or a coffee and enjoy views over the harbour.

Other than yesterday, last time I was in there it was just somewhere to repair our nets and store our fishing gear,,,many years ago, Wow was nice to pop I'm for a quick coffee , fancied a pint though ha ha

Today the weather was so miserable but we endured it to get to the South Quay Shed, what a lovely, friendly, warm and socially great place, so happy it's there!!

What a lovely find! Complete revamp from last time we visited Whitstable. Loved it - loads of great food and lovely arts centres. Decorated to the nines in Christmas festivities. Perfect stop on a nice long beachfront walk.

Came here for coffee late Saturday afternoon . I didn't even know it excited . Nice meeting place with a few interesting sales booths

Pros. - Independent businesses, and amazing coffee (hat hats) prob the best you will find in Whitstable. Rad Burger is good but pricey and you can't beat Pork & Co. Cons: Traders pick and choose when they will open (apart from hat hats) which always seems to be open. Sushi bar is a big disappointment and not very good, incredibly overhyped cookie bar where the staff take 20mins to make 2 luke warm hot chocolates!!! Overpriced bar with rude staff. This place could be so good if there was a bit of co-ordination if you could order at table from all the food stalls would make the place so much more consumer-friendly, at the moment you cannot eat from multiple retailers at the same time. Retailers are local, however not sure how they will survive the winter months.

Fabulous place for food and drinks, some great food on offer

Great place for a coffee, (They have a hat hats) however it is hit and miss as to what else will be open. I have been 3 or 4 times and most of the time the shops have been closed. The burger place looks amazing and is on the list to try.

Really nice variety of foodoptions, reasonably priced bar, and fun people watching from upstairs.
