My brother hired the cellar bar for his 50th birthday. He brought his own decks to DJ. At 10.55pm the female manager suddenly appeared and smashed her hand across his decks and demanded they were turned down. Bear in mind they paid for the cellar bar to 11pm, and the volume had not changed since 9pm. Suddenly rounds of shots appeared as an apology, but far too late. My brothers birthday was ruined. I’m can’t express how much this utterly ruined his birthday. It entirely changed the vibe. Appalling management. Never seen anything like it. I would add the bar staff were lovely. His help then working for her.

Was here for an event downstairs. The staff failed to ID children and served them alcohol, knowing underage children were there. Their license should be taken away. Staff were rude and horrible, swearing at customers calling them c***ts. Failed to inform us that the music had to be turned off at 11pm, when we had booked the event for 7pm-12pm. The staff forced us to turn the music off, whilst being extremely rude and not cooperating well when we were explaining how we had not been informed about turning the music off. They constantly lied saying we was told but we was not. They were petty and rude to us constantly, so we left. Do not come to this pub, the staff were horrible to us and they business should have their alcohol license taken away due to serving underage children.

With only one review posted in 2023, felt I should add my comments to this beautiful olde Dickensian pub. This is my local, and pleased to say, it delivers excellent quality real ale. They usually have 5 or 6 ales on tap. Usual array of lagers and a gin shelf including Tanqueray 10 and Monkey 47! Food is available lunchtime, but not the hot food shown in pictures. More sandwiches and pizzas. Tasty though. Gets VERY busy at weekends and Friday and Saturday nights are a no-go for me - too noisy. I leave my pub to the younger Ware-set those nights and have a glass at home! Always a friendly welcome from the staff and John & Kelly have done a great job since they took over, making this the best pub in Ware.

The tap bar is the only public house in existence that isn’t aware they sell alcohol. Went to the tap bar for my brothers leaving drinks and after about 3 hours I am singled out and asked to leave because apparently they are not aware that drinking alcohol will make you slightly drunk. Would be very easy for the tap bar to reply and claim I was out of control or anything of the sort but the simple fact of the matter is I was having a merry old time with my friends and family and they asked me to leave simply so they could get a fresh wallet and a fresh belly/head in. Buy a crate of Budweiser and chill at home would be my advice in place of visiting this establishment.

Visited on Saturday lunchtime and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Not being local we didn't realise that this was the re-opening weekend and the place looked fantastic with a lot of thought having gone into the Covid safe requirements. It was a really nice looking place and the prices for drinks and snacks were very reasonable. The staff were very helpful and it was obvious they were smiling through their masks. If I was in Ware again, I'd be expecting to re-visit.

Have just come back from a trip to Ware in Herefordshire. We went to the tap bar. It was a traditional character gin bar in the town centre. We were served by delightful waitress called Eva. We stayed over this weekend for a party. The place has four rooms and, on the surface, seemed ok. We have two children under 5 years of age. At first, they appeared to be very helpful, helping us settle in, even compensated for having to move out of the rooms twice. During the night we heard constant talking from the room above chatting until half 5 in the morning. The walls and ceilings are paper thin while the windows are those that have gaps which gave the impression they were fully open and noisy. I asked the manager to query what room was above us, he told me it was the staff quarters. I explained what happened and he appeared annoyed and said he’ll sort it. The following night, as payback, they had the music bellowing and singing loudly to prove a point until 4am. It’s clear they’re used to having no guests as it amazes me this thing carries on. It was one of the most horrible, annoying night of my life and I couldnt discourage people enough to avoid this place as an overnight stay.

I hired the cellar and outside area for my sons christening celebrations yesterday (13/08/17) and all of my guests (approx 100) had a great time! The food served was spot on (hot & cold buffet) and bar had an excellent range of beers & local ales. I was allowed to personalise the booked areas with balloons and decorations and my friends and family were impressed with the venue and quality of service. I would definitely recommend this venue for events, located opposite the the church meant it was ideal for my sons post christening celebrations, also worth mentioning free parking in the large library car park next door on a Sunday meant it was a hassle free location. Thanks to all the staff that were working yesterday and to Mort for managing our booking and requests. I thought the costs incurred were very reasonable and would definitely use the venue again.

It came with garden peas and a choice of gravy. The food is very tasty and plenty to fill you . Following a local Canal Trip my wife and I went into the Brewary tap on the advice from another traveller. The Pub is next to the central park and is only a 60 second walk, especially good for those who are disabled. The menu is based around Pies (at least 20 on the menu) Mash and either Beans or Peas with gravy. From the ones available when we arrived(3.30 on a Sunday afternoon) of which there were at least 10, my wife chose a vegitarion pie with mash and peas. By the way, there are several versions of mash! I ckose the Steak, ale and Horsradish with chezzy mash, peas and gravy. The pies were home made and the meal plus service from really fiendly staff excellent. It might be more difficult during busier times so whilst we were lucky suggest you give your visit time some thought. All in all a great venue for Sunday lunch and we will certainly be going back soon!

I love this place! The ownership was taken over a year ago and this place has gone from strength to strength.First of all, they only do pies...and they do them really really well. I've been a few times and found my favourites, some are better than others but when you find a winner they are simply amazing!!!! (Highly recommend chicken & leek or the steak & kidney pudding). They regularly open up the cellar bar and have live music on a Friday and the place gets really busy - it's a brilliant atmosphere! The themed nights are also great, I'm a big fan of the Gin Festivals they frequently run.The decor is gorgeous with a warm and welcoming feel. A lot of time and energy has been put into making a great atmosphere and it's paid off. (The floor tiles and penny wall is to die for and I'm still trying to find out where they got their lighting from)Nigel, the owner (previously described as grumpy but only when he's hungover - ha!) is a great host and the staff can't do enough to make you feel welcome!Great job Brewery Tap - keep up the good work!

I took friends here for a meal. When we arrived it was quite busy, but the staff did not care if we were there or not. I ordered drinks and asked if there was a table for 4 people and the reply was " have a look, then grab one if free!" I had to ask for menus and other drinks, and I think the staff actually began to understand I was not a happy person, so they did try a little harder!! We all had pies and mash, because that is all they do. Lamb with mint, and chicken with cheese. All the mash were all different flavored. It would of been okay if hot. I felt a embarrassed as taking friends out you do want it to be a bit special, but it wasn't. Drinks were very expensive.

My previous review was very strongly positive for this place. The very competent manager has gone and that is probably the start of the decline I feel. We used to really look forward to a really good pie menu and decent well cellared beer. The pies are now just about ok, seem much smaller and a lesser proprtion of content. The pub used to have a good chef delivering home baked pies, not sure that can be the case now. The pub had an inhouse beer, but the pump was off tonight! Staffing seem a lot less skilled and experienced and are younger I feel, some have an attitude towards customers that a decent host would not dare to make so obvious. As a result atmospere and buzz that was very good seems none existant now. I am sorry it is now a run of the mill average pub and we will not be rushing back very soon.

We live in Ware and were getting desperate to find any really good pub in recent times that we felt we would like to visit. Sad as Ware did have more pubs per the population than anywhere else in UK. really good experience that it now has a different owner and a really good refurb has been done. Beer is excellent and the in-house beer, although brewed in Nottingham I think, is excellent. Has a range of Ciders too but not tested. The in-house pie (and mash) choices are exceptionally good too eat and good value. Mort who manages the place has been in the town for years and now runs this place, always friendly and will show you around and show you some interesting features of this old building. Good for sitting out in the coach/stable yard at side in warmer weather and there are heaters too.

This traditional Ware pub re-opened in August this year after a significant refurbishment, both in terms of decor and food and drink offer. As a piece of advise to those going, disregard any reviews, good or bad, posted before August... it really is a different place.Popped in for a late Friday lunch (3:30PM ish) with a friend. Very clear that they only serve pie (8/9 choices today) and mash (about 5 choices) and gravy (3 choices). Great for a winter's afternoon... not sure how this is going to work in summer!I had a very nice Game Pie with Colcannon. Great pastry. Tasty filling. Lovely colcannon. Huge portion, great price - £8.95!Only downside was the Malbec ordered. Quite acidic and not very gutsy... felt like a £5 bottle of supermarket wine. Maybe just a bad choice, but there are a lot of good Malbecs out there at this kind of price point so a review of the one offered may be in order.Overall though, nice staff, great food and I'll be back!

I took a wheelchair bound elderly person there for a late brunch and a drink. Staff were friendly suggesting I used a different door to enter as it would be easier. It wasn't crowded and the service was quick. The tapas, I thought, was very good value and the choriso had a great flavour. We had the four mini plate deal for £10 which was enough.I was attracted to the place as a result of the board outside serving coffee & cake as well as the alcohol and it seemed to have a mix of people chatting over nibbles as well as having a drink. The outside garden looks scenic all be it it was too cold for this time of year I only ended up looking at the reviews after we went. They did not reflect our experience. The place even had a disabled toilet and baby changing room accessible via the garden as the toilets are right at the back down some stairs. Maybe we were just lucky, maybe it was because it was quite, but this was pleasant, a bit quiet at the start but it was 1145 am. There wee three separate seating areas as well as the garden and plenty of space. We will be going back.

My family have been coming for a number of years and the service has been on the decline for at least the last two years. It used to be packed most of the day but now there is only a lunch time rush. The service has become extremely slow even when it is not full and also, on more than one occasion, rude. Two tables that arrived after us got served before us and after 20 minutes we had to approach the bar just to get a menu. Twice within the last month we have had items missed or the wrong size brought to the table. Its saving grace has been that it used to serve lovely ice cream milkshakes for my young son as a treat. However, on the last occasion, we were served a milkshake that was luke warm when served, tasted of powdered milk, had none of the usual chocolate sauce in it and not even a slight taste of ice cream. It was so bland that my son had no more than a mouthful. When questioned as there is quite a price difference between the flavoured milk and ice cream milkshakes, the manager? said she had seen the waitress put ice cream in. We did not hear the machine going and are very doubtful this was the case but even so, it tasted awful. You have lost our custom and others for the sake a milkshake and a very, very offhand attitude.

Way back 40 years ago I was a regular Saturday night customer along with my then husband and step-daughter. Jon and his parents ran it and it was excellent. I moved away 19 years ago and came back to try it but the menu was poor and no different to a pub. I have not been back for years. However I returned this week and was not disappointed. My friend had the lamb tagine as she wanted a main meal and I had a jacket potato as I eat a main meal in the evening. Both excellent as was my decaff latte and my friend's G and T. We will return.
