The Talpore in Stockton-on-Tees

Stayed at the hotel next door and had breakfast 4 days here. Quick and attentive staff and Bev always started the day off with a smile!

All the staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfast lady (Beverly) is especially cheerful and smiley in the morning. If I'm up near Stockton again I would definitely stay here.

Went with my wife and 3 family members were greeted at the door by the manager and shown to our table where we were looked after by Abbie she was brilliant and happy and made the experience and she made sure we were ok and had drinks the food was excellent we had 3 haddock 1 gammon and a mixed grill all cooked well Brilliant job thank u all

Bev looked after us at breakfast whilst we stayed at the premier inn for a couple nights and we were well looked after! Very friendly and welcoming service and extremely great singing 😂!

A great place to eat, staff are all incredibly helpful and polite.. breakfast staff were exceptional, friendly and made for a lovely morning. Bev was standout at breakfast both morning full of joy, extremely helpful.

The place is rather "tired" sticky tables, stained seats, dirty carpets. Food was appalling, cold, tasteless and no cheese on the nachos, mentioned this to the guy clearing our table, he agreed.

Lovely though very loud as was quite busy. Staff were great, especially Emily our main server. Food was very nice, portions just right.

The only let down was the ladies toilets mentioned above no toilet rolls and mess toilet rolls replaced mess still in toilets

What a fantastic server Abigail was. She met our every need, and we are simply delighted about the quality of service her attention to detail and the exceptional attention to my specific order. Normally there are issues with my order however Abby was absolutely super. The order was perfect The service was with a smile who can ask for more? What a lovely evening and I will be back soon.

Great full English breakfast £10.99 - self service buffet with continental buffet too. Good quality food, well cooked and buffet kept well stocked. Friendly, efficient service from Bev.

First time today very polite greeting on entering. Well appointed seating area . Tipical premier buffet breakfast ,but excellently laid out and cooked. Not rushed but took liesurely breakfast.most enjoyable experience.

Been here loads of times and it's always been great. Service is spot on: friendly, attentive and efficient. Food is normally very good with excellent steaks. However, I visited last week and had a surf and turf. The steak was over-cooked, the prawns were cold on one side and the tomato was completely uncooked - like it had just come out of the fridge. It's a shame because I won't rush back now.

Breakfast was awesome lovely female staff can't remember her name but was young slim and worked on sunday morning early 19th January 2025...so so helpful and went above and beyond 😀

Excellent restaurant with a fantastic breakfast. Sharing the experience with Bev, who occasionally adds a touch of charm by singing a few lovely chords during breakfast, making the great food even more enjoyable.

Small portions, mid tier food disguised to look bougie, way too expensive.

I stayed at the hotel nearby and had breakfast included. Breakfast here was great had plenty of variety. A big shout out to Abi who welcomed me to the restaurant this morning she was great her light and the aura that she had really made me feel welcomed she explained everything to me before i sat down which gave me that comfort of knowing what i was doing as sometimes hotel breakfast can be a bit complicated. Great restaurant lovely staff.

Called in for a few drinks and we decided to get a couple starters to accompany our cocktails, 2 stone baked garlic flat breads and side portion of chips approx £15. The portion size of the flatbread was terrible and the scoop of french fries was daylight robbery. On complaining to the manager we were given no apology or acknowledgement of our complaint. A simple apology or understanding of our complaint would have been nice considering we spent a lot on drinks.

Went for a meal on New Year’s Eve, couldn’t fault the service, very single member of stay we came across was really happy, friendly and helpful which was wonderful especially with it being so busy. Didn’t feel rushed and the food was lovely, rare steak cooked just right, moved over to the bar for drinks, cocktails were all a really good quality and tasted great.

Bev was brilliant at sorting out our special dietary requirements. Thank you Bev!

Went with a group for the festive menu at lunch time the restaurant quiet and parking was easy, the waiter was friendly and efficient, some of the reviews are hit and miss so I was a little apprehensive, but I thought the meal was spot on and I would visit again Roast turkey dinner, veg, trimmings✔️ Apple berry crumble custard ✔️

Very overpriced, I had chicken and ribs, chicken was warm and watery, the ribs were tasteless, the only part I enjoyed was the pudding, it was lush. But 27 pounds for a main and dessert. Think I will try other places , yes I did eat the food at the price .

Came for some food with my partner. Brought our dog as it is dog friendly in the bar which is great. We both had spare ribs. Good meaty ribs and a lot of them. Very tasty. The let down was they were served lukewarm and so were the chips. No one came back to check on the food despite it being quiet. On finishing someone eventually removed the plates. I said the food was not served hot. He said he would get the manager to come over. We waited a while but no one came.

Came here for a Sunday dinner today. Worst one I’ve ever eaten. No mash, rock hard stuffing. All frozen food. Wetherspoons do better food. Don’t waste your money. So expensive for the garbage they serve up. Nice pint tho

Never leave reviews but was super impressed by our server, didn’t catch his name but he was so lovely with my baby. We are first time parents and took our baby here to eat out for the first time and had hugeee anxiety doing so, but he was attentive from the start. Was chatty and polite, fetched the baby a cold flannel when she had a sore hand, and made us feel dead at ease, was just a proper lovely man. Food was delicious and had vegan options for me. Drinks were filled up fast. Overall would happily come here again with my family.

Come here for breakfast a lot, this might be the best value breakfast ever, 10£ or so and you get unlimited pastry, real Nutella, a incredibly amazing breakfast with perfect poached eggs! Staff are always amazing, Bev especially helps a lot when I'm there as I come alone bringing a plate when my hands are full. The best place for breakfast in tees side for sure

Very handy if staying at the White Water caravan club site. Food is as would be expected from any Beefeater. You know what you are getting. Need to enter your car registration in the restaurant if parking there.

For the second time this year 3 days visit, very friendly people, nice location.

Went with the family on a Sunday waited over 1hour and ten min for our meals toʻ be served and when my was brought the fish was stone cold so was the chips which was bought was about ten in number will never go again

Stayed in the Premier in for 2 night the breakfast is nice and Bev is a lovely host very welcoming and chatty.

Attended as a work function served 13, all meals out hot and together. Food was good.

We went here about a month ago without booking and thought it was really nice, so we made a return trip today, we did not book again but I had checked the booking system and it didn't seem busy, when we arrived the restaurant didn't look busy and I didn't hear what the waitress said as I was trying to put the car reg in, anyway we had been sent to the bar, I thought it was until a table was free, apparently not, I ordered at the bar, was told where to retrieve my cutlery from and that the food would be served in the bar, I had paid the bill by then or else I would have left and found another restaurant, so I doubt I will return, paying restaurant prices for help yourself bar food is not for me, thank you

Just called in for a drink today but the food look as good as it normally is,atmosphere is vibrant,really like it in here

👎 food not worth the prices on the menu I ordered the Beef Double Stack Burger £16.99 which is not worth the money 2small 4oz burgers, 10 chips & small teaspoon of coleslaw which was warm,my girlfriend ordered the fish& chips which was soggy.

Always a solid pint a decent food, good for kids and able to bring the dog

The bar Staff seemed put out about having to serve us. Told we had to pay before our drinks were served but other customers paid after service. My wine was served in dirty glass when mentioned the full negative attitude was on show and they poured my tainted drink into slightly cleaner glass. Think I should have had new glass of wine. Toilet facilities are poorly maintained and in need of refresh.

After having surgery on my stomach I can’t eat a lot of food I have been to a few restaurants and asked for a children’s portion and because I’m an adult the answer has always be no and try a starter. So for my wife’s birthday myself daughters and grandchildren took my wife there for tea I wasn’t going to go but glad I did I asked could I order a children’s meal and the answer was yes the young man who served me even explained that the children’s main course was £5 pounds and for £2 pounds extra I could get a 3 course meal which I wouldn’t be able to eat but the rest of my family could which was nice of the young man. I had sausage and mash and the quantity was just perfect. Thanks for making me feel human after a traumatic few months.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at the Beefeater at Tees Barrage, and I have to say, the experience was made absolutely wonderful thanks to Bev! From the moment we walked in, Bev’s warm and welcoming demeanor made us feel right at home. Her friendly smile and positive attitude were the perfect start to my morning. Bev’s attention to detail and her commitment to providing top-notch service did not go unnoticed. She went above and beyond to ensure that our breakfast was perfect, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and always doing so with genuine care. It’s rare to find someone who truly understands the importance of great customer service, but Bev certainly does. Her professionalism, efficiency, and cheerful nature made our breakfast a memorable experience. It's OK to call in but food is just average and in my opinion over priced chain pub food

Good food good service and great value for money.

Food was good, just expensive. Service needs to be reviewed. When we arrived, we had to wait over 10 minutes before someone came over to us. Then their was no remorse. When we asked for a table for two. Considering there were multiple clean empty tables. All we got was a blunt! No tables for an hr so you need to go to the bar for food Strange Considering it was the same menue.

Sunday evening, 6pm. Place was barely a quarter full. I had a 40% off food coupon, which brought the cost down to what I would have expected to pay for what we had. Got to wonder if the high prices keep people away. I had the steak pie which came with chips, peas and gravy. Wetherspoons chip counters should come here, I had less than a dozen chips so mentioned this to the server. Would you like more, she asked. Erm, yes please. I think I got another three when my plate was returned. That said, the food was hot and tasty. Service ok. We only come here when we have a coupon so it pays to sign up to the app.

Good cooked breakfast. Lovely server in the morning that greets you by name. There is a good choice of options even for picky eaters like my son.

Loved it here - was staying at Premier Inn next door, so this was our go-to place for breakfast, etc. Staff were fabulous, helpful, kind, and very efficient. Also knowledgeable about local area and gave us a few tips about where to go and best parking places 🙂

Great place to start your day with there lovely breakfast.. staff are really friendly and helpful.. my waitresses Bev was brilliant . Not bad for a girl from battersea ! Highly recommend

Not Michelin 5 star. Basic fayre but nice

I just wanna share my very honest opinion that Bev and Natalie were such a lovely people and the quality of service and joy they bring to the restaurant is absolutely incomparable to any other premises I have been to I would defo comeback to this hotel because of them , I highly recommend this place it’s something to not regret and the food is spot on thank you very much ❤️

Great service from Bev @ breakfast, makes everyone be feel welcomed. Breakfast good, just could have been a bit hotter.

We went mid week where the prices are reasonable, whereas at the weekend it is double the price. The meal, however, was rather good - We couldn't fault it. We took our dog into the restaurant and he sat quietly on the floor. Husband loved the stake and said it was delicious and shared it with the dog who normally does not take food from us in a restaurant but on this occasion he woofed it.

Nice environment and great self-serve breakfast friendly staff, especially that chatty Bev!

Lovely place to sit and have a beer in the sun

My family was up from south so I decided to bring them here for a evening meal we where welcomed by a gent called del he pointed us to a table for 4 i have Parkinson and couldn’t get to the table his attitude towards us was unprofessional and very unreasonable and stated that there was only 2 seating tables which he could of easily pulled the tables together but he wouldn’t do this so we walked away from there and sat in the bar area and the staff behind the bar where lovely and friendly

Use this venue regularly. Always good food and quick service. Nice beer garden for drinks outside. A great breakfast topped off with excellent service from Bev who always makes sure we have a warm welcome.

We were there on Saturday, it was busy but we ate in the restaurant. Shout out to the guy who served us I never got his name but he made our visit great. Speaking to us and interacting with our grandson. Food was lovely also

Bun with 1 slice of hallumi & 1 mushroom, cold rubbery chips & a spoonful of coleslaw £15.88 Mediocre lasagne with 2 tiny pieces of garlic bread £13.99 £8.88 for 2 soft drinks. Spent just shy of £40 on 2 very small, ⁷expensive terrible meals.

Good food, my son particularly enjoyed the halloumi burger and the fish and chips were really nice. Very friendly, accommodating staff. They helped us put two tables together for our group and carried our drinks order to the table for us. Nice atmosphere, background music not too loud and we were easily able to have a conversation over it. An enjoyable night.

We usually grab food when we come to the Talpore, but with the weather being glorious, we stopped off for a glass of wine and to chill in the large outside seating area that overlooks the white water rafting course.

I go for breakfast regularly with my Gran, Bev is always there to greet us with a warm welcome and cannot do enough for you. Eggs always ordered promptly and seated with ease. Plenty of choice of food, fresh and hot, as well as selection of continental. Dirty Plates taken away quickly. Lovely service and great breakfast

Used use regularly when stopping at caravan club next door.if went in from 1500 to 1730 used get buy drinks get 1 free.apparently new Area managers & have over ridden land lady who implemented it.prices shocking for teeside in my opinion also food.pity as used like pub & staff are Lovely.

Pleasant staff very polite unfortunately spoilt by lazy parents allowing kids to run around inside backwards and forwards past other visitors tables. Decided not to dine and left.
