The Talpore in Stockton-on-Tees

Stayed at the premier inn next door all week whilst on a course in Stockton. The staff were all very friendly and Bev in-particular took very good care of me at breakfast each morning, always willing to have a friendly chat!

Fantastic staff, food and drink...nothing bad to say. But one member of staff has special skills...Katie...managed to ask how my meal was while my mouth was empty....no mumbled answer with food flying across the room 😂 Well done Katie....and thank you...great service.

We went for breakfast today it was amazing food was lush and the staff where amazing bev greeted us made us all feel welcome she couldn't be more helpful with us such a lovely lady and Emily too thanks girls 😊 would definitely come back again 😊

Dogs are now welcome. The whole bar/eating area stinks of dogs. The carpets were filthy and are absolutely covered in dog hair. The whole place needs a deep clean and dogs should not be welcome in a place that serves so much food. Dogs were constantly barking and I would not eat here again.

Lovely environment , and the food is even better .. everyone needs a bit of beefeater cob salad in their life .. you think the foods good ? You know what’s even better than that .. the service .. I was served by a lovely little lad Charlie and lovely lad called Martin .. I would go again without a doubt .. every restaurant needs a Charlie and Martin big up the talpore

Food was really good and piping hot, quick service and Charlie's customer service was excellent. He was polite, funny and engaging. Had a pint of Madri which was spot on also.

Have been to restaurant 5 times previously all excellent service. Meet and shown to table with cutlery .drinks order taken food order taken delivered and extras . C ame T oday. Oh find empty table .no waitress order at bar .await delivery start er food 22 mins then took empty plates back to bar for main courses 46 mins later food delivered no cutlery no sources 12 mins in a queue at bar to ask where cutlery is .on table next to till help yourself food cold by then 46 mins after mains finished with all plates stacked up que again at bar to ask for deserts Ate them finished drinks and left 29 minswith main courses and desert plates still on table

The food was absolutely amazing as well as the service.. Chris was so polite, friendly & easy to talk to & all the staff greeted us nicely & all of them topped it off with a smile.. we have not received excellent service like this in a long time & we would recommend The Talpore to everyone, again thank you for the great hospitality & food. P.S we will definitely be coming back.

food was good. if sitting in bar you will need to like or not be scared of dogs as they are everywhere in the bar area. I wouldn't eat in area with so many dogs. I've never actually seen as many dogs in a pub before. Beer is okay, maybe a little over priced like the grub.

Have been going to the Talpore for a long time, decided to take my daughter in law for some lunch. Well, is it normal to pay £16.50 for burger & chips, I was very surprised how much prices had gone up. Yes it was nice but how can this price be justified.

Popped in this afternoon for a last minute Sunday lunch, we were greeted and served by Chris, excellent customer service, he was quick and efficient and very friendly, The legend that is Ronnie delivered our meals in a very timely fashion, everything was perfect, both lamb dinners were cooked to perfection and honestly couldn’t have asked for more, keep up the good work guys because as usual, an excellent dining experience 👌👌

We have been coming here two or three times a month for almost 5 years. New management has recently taken over and with that destroyed half of the menu with cheap substitutes. There sirloin steak looks like a dogs left overs with more gristle than meat. Real shame as I have had nothing but steak every time we have been. They have now lost out custom I'm afraid. Really really low quality food. Bring back the old management

Best place for breakfast I have been. Plenty of staff so everything's topped up, clean & amazing selection. Everything you can think & self-serve as much as you like. Fruit & juices sweet not sour at all, everything tastes fresh, good quality meat in the cooked section, perfectly poached eggs, good atmosphere, 10/10

Had a great Friday night in this restaurant. The staff are amazing and an absolute credit to Beefeater. Michael and the team work so well together. Constantly serving, chatting, clearing etc and all with smiles on their faces. The place is dog friendly, with water bowls provided and treats for our furry friends. The food was good, well cooked, plentiful and served piping hot. I would recommend visiting this restaurant if you are in the area. Plenty of parking is available too.

We were staying at the caravan park next door and headed over for a couple of early evening drinks....we ended up staying longer! What a great venue with hard working, extremely friendly staff. Special thanks to Michael and all the team that were working. They were all so efficient and worked really well together as a team. You hardly had to wait to get served and considering the place was so busy I don't know how they did it! The food was well presented, tasty and served piping hot. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying nearby and locals alike. Some Beefeater restaurants have lost their way but this one most definitely hasn't. Thank you.

The food and service here are absolutely phenomenal. The staff made me feel like family, I stayed away in the Premier inn next door for a week and was throughly thrilled with the options of food available. But what really made it for me was the service All the staff here went the extra mile for me But the two girls doing breakfast (Bev & Emily) are top notch. I personally didn't enjoy it here. Floors were a mess looks like it needs a revamp. Just seemed scruffy. Granted it was busy and few children in so wouldn't be able to tidy up or hoover. It's a dog friendly bar /restaurant which is good. Because views and walks round the river which are lovely and then stop in here for a meal is ideal. Outside of town. With large car park. I had butternut squach. Spinach and ricotta lasagne. It. Nice but spoilt by it being far too hot after having a long wait we were very hungry. A Sunday dinner was served to a couple that came a lot earlier than ours and they had come in much later than us so that wound me up as the hunger set in.. . The stack burger my Grandson of 17 said it was delicious. The macaroni cheese with butternut squash my granddaughter of 6 said it was really nice best she has had. She tries them everywhere. Nice looking building with a very sizable footprint. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of dogs in when we were there which I have no issue with as I love dogs, though two were having a bit if a go at each other. Staff were really friendly and helpful, I absolutely couldn't fault them. The only real disappointment here was the food. It was average at best and overpriced. Whilst the prices weren't extortionate, they were definitely overpriced in comparison to what I get get for the same price at a local non-chain pub. £15 for a small pie and a handful of chips seemed very poor value in comparison with ... well pretty much any other pub I have been in. Shame, but I don't think I'll eat here again as nice as the bar and the staff are.

We come here every Staurday morning for breakfast as my autistic daughter likes it. The staff recognise us now and are friendly and incredibly helpful. Booking is recommended as breakfast time seems to be increasingly popular now. Food is good and there is a good variety.

Fantastic, unlimited english/continental breakfasts. Staff friendly and super helpful. Wide choice of food and unlimited hot drinks/juices. Highly recommended. 2 kids under 16 also eat free with every adult at the moment.

I stay here regular on business and you always get a warm welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for Bev in the restaurant at breakfast and you feel a welcome guest whenever you stay. The choices are plentiful at the serving counter and well cooked.

The talpore has now changed so don't take your dog unless you want to freeze outside . I used to go a lot when they took dogs but not now , a terrible shame.

Absolutely terrible service - worst I’ve ever had in the UK - we were asked to sweep up before we left - we have a three year old a five year old and a one year old - the table wasn’t that messy - we were told we should tidy up and that it was ‘disgusting’! And that ‘you wouldn’t leave it like that at home’ - despite pointing out that we weren’t at home and were paying customers we were told it was ‘disgusting’ and that we ‘should leave and never come back again’ - unbelievably poor customer service - I pointed out that when we entered the restaurant with the three children no one said anything when we came in - NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN or to any other Beefeater - how staff can possibly think that sort of behaviour acceptable I have no idea - why have a ‘kids eat free’ policy and give out high chairs if you think they are ‘disgusting’ for eating their breakfast in your restaurant - truly shocking customer service! There should be an option for 0/5!!!

We just left your Stockton on tees (teeside) restaurant. We had three children under five and a half with us. We were on our way out when one of your staff came to us and told us he wasn't going to let us leave without cleaning up the crumbs from the floor. He was very rude. We said there wasn't much mess and we weren't going to go get a parker and a brush to clean up when we are paying for our meal. He then told us never to come back again which we gladly agreed.

Went for the 1st time last night really expensive for what it is very small piece of chicken coleslaw was warm strange funny taste to it chips undercooked £14.99 really not worth the money weatherspoons like food but dearer wouldn't go back

So after arriving I was told the table I'd booked 2 hours prior wasn't available as the restaurant area was closed, not the end of the world but slightly annoying. Ended up having to sit next to a table of unsupervised kids. Wait for the food was only around 20 minutes but the chicken burger I'd ordered had burnt batter, the chips looked anemic and the coleslaw was warm so who knows how long it was sat out. Table was sticky but this is pretty typical of Beefeater. I'd been avoiding it after staying next door but thought I'd give it a try on my last evening, this particular Beefeater is below par compared to others I've been too. Honestly you'd be better off at a Wetherspoons and spend half as much.

Had a really nice meal, 3 courses for about £20 each person. Friendly staff and good company.

I had the pleasure of having breakfast at the beef eater talpoll and was greeted at the door by Bev who had fantastic customer service and made me feel most welcome will definitely recommend and return. Bev was hands down the best and most helpful in guiding us around and making me feel comfortable.
