Staff were so lovely, went above and beyond! Best veggie parmo I’ve ever had

Food was lovely enjoy every bit of it and staff were very welcoming pub was very spacious and clean could had a game of pool too

Really nice friendly place, parmos are actually decent and the fries taste like they've been triple cooked. Surprisingly the vegetarian parmo was good.

Visited from out of town on a Friday night and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal & evening at the Smiths Arms. Spacious & comfortable restaurant area, good menu variety & the food itself was 1st class. Surprised by a previous TA review about service as we found staff warm, friendly & courteous. Would definitely return & recommend.

Really nice food a great service

Sat for nearly 25 minutes waiting for staff to come and take our empty plates away, we would of loved another drink and desert but staff were too busy applying lipgloss and gossiping rather than doing what they’re payed for. If it was busy and we had a wait I’d understand but the place was dead. Food ok but service is terrible!

Just had a lovely Sunday Lunch, the staff were lovely and welcoming and very efficient. The ambience was cosy and warm. Lunch was yummy, and the dessert was scrumptious. Thank you we will be back very soon.

Booked a table for 18, meals where pre ordered via email, responces where quick and all questions answered. The place is lovely modern/country decor. As we had children we asked for their meals to be served ASAP, which the staff under stood and did. Once we all arrived the main meals where served quickly, so food was hot, fresh and lovely. Will definitely be visiting again. **The menu on the website is not correct, recommend contacting the pub & they will send you the correct menu**

Incredible place for food a drinks. Superb outdoor terrace area with ambient lighting and music. Been to several events here now and absolutely love the place. Food is gorgeous with super friendly staff. Would highly recommend the Sunday lunches and tea time menus.

Nice pub. We popped in for a quiet drink on a Wednesday evening. The drinks were lovely. Definitely the nicest pint of coors I've had. We sat outside for our first then in the restaurant side on our own as the bar area was full. The place was tidy, clean and welcoming.

The staff are friendly and welcoming. A good selection on the menu including vegetarian dishes. Normally there are 2-3 real ales. There is a lounge and seperate bar area. There is also a large outside paved seating area. Car park to front and rear.

Visited today for mothers day lunch. We had the 3 courses. Everything was cooked to perfection. Very friendly efficient staff. Also a lovely gesture as we were leaving a potted primrose. I would definitely recommend and return.

A lovely welcome from the Staff. The pub is cosy & well furnished. 5 adults & a toddler ate lunch here. All our meals were delicious. The portions were large but Staff very happy to box stuff up to take home. There is a nice outside seating area for the warmer weather.

We have visited this pub many times. Never disappoints. Meals are excellent and well priced. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Family run and very child friendly. Now doing a half/ half menu. Had half parmo and half pasta. Brought parmo home! Highly recommended.

Everything was OK, but just OK,

It was my sons 21st birthday so we booked to mark the occasion. Food was fab, staff were so friendly & the atmosphere was great.

Lovely Christmas lunch, very friendly and food beautiful.

A very hearty and generously portioned roast dinner, which was lovely. Dessert of bread and butter pudding was huge and delicious. The beer was good and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Very good value for money and will return.

Could not eat the food, had to walk out, will not be back. Party at the next table did exactly the same.

Lovely pub and great staff, really looked after us with a party of over 50 in the marque in the pub garden. Buffet was lovely and later in the evening the pizzas were great.

Can not fault the smiths. We have been a few times now and the food has always been excellent. It’s beautifully decorated and the staff are brilliant. We had my two year old niece with us and the waitress was brilliant with her - letting her pretend to take the order with her etc. and even giving her a 50p. We will definitely continue to use the smiths when we go out for meals and will recommend it to our friends because of its family friendly atmosphere, reliably good food and excellent staff.

Staff was exceptional. Food was amazing. Loaded nachos to start fresh & very tasty. The surf & turf parmo unreal full of flavour , steak cooked to perfection served with proper chips No room for desert sorry. Will be back soon to try the rest of the menu

Warmly welcomed with the family for Fathers Day lunch. In addition to their generous Sunday lunch choices (especially delicious yorkies and gravy) they offered parmos (enjoyed by 2 of our group) and a range of options for the children who are always difficult to cater for. We all enjoyed our lunch (too much food as usual) and one finicky grandson said he had the best Mac and cheese he had ever tasted! Praise indeed. They all want to visit again!

4 of us went for lunch today. Steak and Ale pie was outstanding. Packed with the tenderest beef and tasted delicious. Staff very pleasant. Altogether a great experience will certainly return, great price too.

Went to this pub for the first time today expecting a lunch menu which is advertised on their website. To be told that they no longer do one (which is in fact false advertising) so we went on to order from full menu. Partner had fish and chips which he could not eat at all as smelt funny and did not taste nice. I had what I thought was a chicken breast burger with bacon and cheese the chicken was infact just bits of chicken smothered in cheese to make it look like a burger. Then charged full amount even though partner only had one mouthful was not even offered a substitute meal. Suffice to say will NEVER eat at this establishment again and will certainly never recommend it !! I have had to put a 1 star rating as it will not let me post a zero star rating which is what we give it !!

Called in for tea one night just passing this lovely little pub , very nice menu very tasty home cooked food. Will definitely visit again when passing.

I visited The Smith’s today with my daughter and enjoyed reminiscing about my youth and family events held there in the past. The venue has maintained its charm but updated and modernised to offer a lovely environment both indoors and outdoors for drinks and food. Everyone we met from this family run venue from the owner to the bar staff and chef was so friendly and welcoming. The food was cooked fresh to order, although it takes a little longer it was well worth the wait. No microwave warm ups here. The pie chips and vegetables where lush with lovely thick gravy. My daughters Parmo was lovely too with chips and fresh salad. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks

Nice pub, friendly staff an enjoyable lunch with wife. The chicken tandoori flatbread was excellent.

Last minute booking at the Smiths last night. Warmly welcomed by staff, including chef Chris. Main menu and Valentine specials available. Chorizo scotch egg and flatbread with 2 types of hummus were very tasty. Cod and pea risotto was unctuous. Penne puttanesca and tandoori chicken flatbread full of flavour and went down easily. Too full for dessert other than icecream but Dave thoroughly enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding. A great night!

Brilliant pub! The portions are large and good value for money and the parmo is one of the best in the area (I really rate the garlic sauce but beware, it's very strong)! Friendly staff and relaxed and homely atmosphere.

8 of us had bottomless brunch at The Smiths Arms in Carlton yesterday. It was absolutely brilliant afternoon tea was delicious with homemade desserts. You has a choice of larger, Prosecco or Mimosas the staff were very attentive and made sure the drinks flowed for the 2 hours drinking we had. Such a friendly pub if you've not been check it out food always good and staff always aim to please. You will always be greeted with by a friendly face

Having read previous reviews, I was apprehensive about my visit but much to my delight everything was amazing! Such a lovely, warming and friendly atmosphere with the most helpful staff; Lucy and Katie couldn’t have done more for us!!!! They were very knowledgeable about what they were selling, both food and drinks wise, we left feeling excited for our next visit. Can’t wait to come back on more occasions, perhaps some Christmas and seasonal events would be an idea? Would love to see the outdoor space utilised and you will certainly have more business from us lot! Thank you all at The Smiths Arms Xx

The service is so slow.... 20 mins for drinks, there was only 15 people sitting outside. The manager needs to lead by example and train the staff properly. The pasta dish was very poor, it may as well of been pasta in a tin of...

Food was absolutely delicious! Couldn’t fault the starters, mains or desserts and I am quite fussy. Will definitely be back again, maybe as soon as next week as we enjoyed it so much. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Friendly, great place, good food, good choice, nice

The food wasn't great, especially for the price. Bland and soggy Mexican fajitas that included oblique cut chunks of broccoli and carrots. Thai curry, not much better. A lovely place for a drink though.

Poor and very erratic service. Ordered two pints which took ten minutes to arrive but only after a gentle reminder. I ordered fish and chips, the fish was excellent, chips totally inedible. Meal arrived but no cutlery. Cutlery finally arrived after a further five minutes....

Customer service was amazing here the ladies who served us were so happy always smiling and making you feel really welcome but also the food here what we ordered was absolutely 💯 lovely heads up if anyone wants garlic mushrooms .... awesome.

Good food good service felt comfortable and safe.

Located 2 villages away the Smiths provides a good selection of beers and food. Staff are good and helpful and provide great service. There is plenty of parking though at busy times people park on the street making navigation difficult. Nice garden when weather obliges
