I recently ordered butter chicken, chilli paneer, and chicken biryani. Unfortunately, the meal was disappointing overall. The butter chicken was far too sweet, which really threw off the flavor—authentic butter chicken isn’t supposed to taste like that. The chilli paneer was also a letdown; it looked and tasted more like paneer tikka than actual chilli paneer, and the portion size wasn’t great considering the price. Thankfully, the biryani was decent, but it wasn’t enough to redeem the meal. Not the experience I was hoping for.

Amazing food, good prices, always order from here, cannot recommend Taj Mahal enough. Best Indian takeaway in Essex!

Would highly recommend this Indian, the food is amazing and the staff are very warming and friendly. We have been coming to this Indian for a long time and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

wrong rice delivered! other than that the food was lovely.. couldn't eat the rice though 😕

I ordered the non chilli version of the Karahi but it was so spicy it was basically inedible. Also the description of the Karahi is chicken or lamb but you get no option to choose so it's basically luck which one you get

Just received our order after waiting over the time specified!! And sorry to say this meal was awful, all of the curry’s were watery our plates were swimming in water!! The two people who had the kormas both said how poor they tasted it reminded them of microwave curry’s cheap and nasty!! You also forgot our onion bhaji and we had a sag potatoes that’s we didnt order!! First time we ordered from you in years as we are wanting a new Indian to use and it was so disappointing and poor I don’t think we would use again

Excellent take out for a family Friday dinner :) Everything was fresh, piping hot and full of flavor. What a fantastic feast we had. From starters to mains and sides every dish was spot on and very generous sizes too. Also, important to note the great costumer care and service this place has to offer. Highly recommend and will most definitely visit again. Thank you for a lovely family meal .

Recently moved to the area and decided to go with this Indian as their reviews were a lot better than others. Honestly the best Indian I have EVER had so flavoursome. Heated the rest up the next day for leftovers and was just as good. Delicious

I got 2 peshwari naan breads yesterday evening to take away. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick! The naan breads were very yummy, I recommend!

The best Indian we ever had, had a birthday meal for the mother but the Indian restaurant we booked decided to tell us last min they were fully booked so we ordered a Indian, was so worried about how the food would be because we don’t usually order takeaway’s especially Indian but we ordered with taj through a chance and wow the food was top quality, we were so impressed we’re going to be ordering again on Saturday for another family meal, from the service to the food hands down a great experience

Absolutely incredible service. Food tastes excellent and always really hot on delivery. In fact delivery has been quicker than estimated and everyone is really kind and helpful. The food was amazing, best in the city by a far. This is the this time this month. We was recommended by a friend so we tried it it is a shame it isn’t a restaurant because fresh food from must be even more amazing, always tastes fresh.

6 weeks ago I was recommending this takeaway to everybody..: tonight will be my last order. I’m happy to pay more for good food but last 2 order have been so lacking in meat in dishes is a joke.. sauce is very nice but more than 3or4 small pieces of chicken make it pointless..

Ordered a Tiger Jalfrezi, had no idea how it would taste as it was my first time, amazing flavours and the food was top notch, I did wait 10 mins for the food longer than it was expected but I can understand why, the food here is the best we had, tiger jalfrezi has a unique taste to it I never had it anywhere else, I called up to ask for the sauce but I was told it’s homemade, the best jalfrezi ever and the lamb was so soft. Will order soon

Amazing authentic flavours, our family order here a lot and our whole street all have their indian from Taj Mahal, we tried others in chelmsford now and again but there’s a authentic twist here hence why this place is so popular, the dansak is out of the world. Delivery time and food generally good. We were disappointed after paying £16+ for 2 king prawn dishes to only get 3 small prawns in each.. Will stick to lamb or chicken if I order again.

Food was delivered late with the added insult that they had forgot a dish. I understand mistakes happen but there was no apology when I rang the restaurant or a free side dish to make up for the extra wait

Great delicacy of food. A perfect Indian takeaway! Loved it’s curry. Specially It's creamy chicken malai curry full of flavour and the chicken was really soft. The biriyani and side dishes was fabulous ! Will be ordering again very soon!

Ordered the Tandoori Chicken and Keema Biriyani for a party. The taste was just divine and savory. The Tandoori King Prawn Real Paneer Cheese Korma curry was just outstanding Spice was adequate and the order was delivered very quickly. Nothing to complain.

Ordered a take away via Deliveroo, this restaurant has no tracking and the suggested delivery time is very inaccurate. Ordered at 7.15pm told food would delivered at 7.45pm. Rang at 8pm was told food is ready but waiting on a driver. Rang at 8.20pm told delivery was already on its way. Rang at 8.40pm straight to voice mail. Food finally arrived at 8.50pm. Food was very nice but a little cold, but none of Naan breads we ordered where there. A real shame and not somewhere I would recommend for take away.

Whilst the order was really early which was great the food quality wasn’t so good. We haven’t used this Indian restaurant before and the taste was lacking. I also found a hard lump which I can only assume to be a piece of bone in a dish that didn’t specify there may be bones.
