Absolutely awful service!!!! Do not recommend using Banaras if you want a decent curry. Have used this establishment for over 4 years when it was known as Taj, as regular customers we didn’t question trying the new ownership. Ordered a takeaway over the phone and the man on the phone hardly spoke a word of English, which wouldn’t have been a problem if he was polite. We’re patient people & We repeated the order about 10 times and checked he’d got it correct in the end. After 2 & a half hours of waiting for the food to be delivered we rang and asked how long it would be, it took another half an hour to arrive. When it arrived it was a completely different order! We phoned straight away to be greeted with the same person who couldn’t understand what we were saying, kept trying to get us to order more food (and pay for it) he couldn’t understand at all that the food we had paid for isn’t here and it’s the wrong order! We had to speak to the delivery driver in the end to translate & we asked for a refund. The manager then got involved and said give me my food back then… which we gladly did because it wasn’t the food we ordered! Shock to find 5 days later still no refund! Had to go in tonight to request the refund in person which they still argued!!! Very disappointed, loyal customers now lost and now using a different restaurant. Highly suggest getting someone to answer the phone with a strong knowledge of the English language & customer service skills.

Under new management and has had a name change. Ordered a take away to be delivered. Food wasn’t great. Tikka masala was watery and not as nice as previous owners sauce. Naan bread was soggy. No sauce with chicken pakora. Disappointed

Had a lovely meal tonight. An extensive menu catering for all tastes. The food was served promptly, was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return!

Just been here for a Meal, now it’s Called Banaras brasserie… Oh my god, it was horrendous. The Cobra tasted like pipe cleaner, so I ordered a Moretti instead, and that pint was even worst. It left me with a horrible taste in my mouth and throat. The mango chutney was very salty, told the waiter and returned it, just to get another bad one, gave up complaining. Soggy popadoms and naan. Greasy mixed grill. Just gave up eating , and left as fast as we could, they just were not interested in hearing it

Ordered a few take seats from here and the curries taste good however the meat is too chewy or hard. Not sure the food is cooked on the premises and just heated up. The tikka mix grill was awful, cold and dry hard meat. Tikka Masala is a nice flavour but chicken is chewy or feels like it’s undercooked. Rice and naan breads are nice.

Just awful, new owners have taken over, let’s be honest this is a takeaway with seats. The atmosphere is as about exciting as the heat in the building, ie none, I went to the gents and thought I have started vaping before I realised it was just my breath misting up. First dinner I have eaten with my jacket on, obviously being run on the remains of a shoe string…..The one waiter lacked both personality and professionalism in equal measure, he mumbled something about being on his own, I didn’t listen because I genuinely stopped caring. On the upside the new owners won’t be there for long at this rate so the experince will be short lived. It’s times like this that you miss Cam and No72 in bidford, now that is how you run a good restaurant. If you have the choice of going here or M&S for a ready meal, you stand a better chance of getting more engagement and customer experince out of an inanimate chiller in M&S than you do in this place…. PS bring you our heater for heat and layer up!!!

The curries taste great but they're pretty oily. The food has great flavour so full-marks from me for Food. Shame they don't do the red onion sauce which is my absolute fav. Cheers guys for many nice dinners.
