Lovely food, good atmosphere, but our whole experience with Waiteress was really bad which over shadowed our whole meal. The Waiteress that served us looked like a 11 year old with the worst attitude ever, she looked like she doesn’t want to be there. Service to our table took ages, and then when the Waiteress came, there was no apology and she spoke so rudely when taking our drinks order that we nearly left at that point. We gave benefit of the doubt that it could be busy, but we were wrong, her attitude was the same for all the other customers too. The Waiteress could barely hold the drinks and gave no smile or appreciation for us even being there. It was very unprofessional and I don’t pay good money to be disrespected by a child. I don’t think I will return to be served like this. I rather take my money else where, where it’s appreciated.

I’ve been ordering from Taj Bar & Grill every week, and without fail, they always manage to miss something from my order. This time, it was the sauces, but it’s always something—whether it’s missing items, wrong dishes, or just poor attention to detail. When I called to let them know, my call was passed between three different staff members before I finally spoke to a so-called manager. None of them had a clue how to handle a complaint. No professionalism, no apology, just a bunch of excuses and attitude. It was clear they didn’t care at all about resolving the issue. If this was a one-time mistake, I’d understand, but it happens every single time. Absolutely shocking service. I won’t be ordering from here again, and I’d advise others to avoid the frustration.

What can I say about this place? The place was great very clean and very friendly. The staff were on point, can’t ask for more so welcoming. We really enjoyed the food which we couldn’t fault at all. Each dish had an individual taste. We have rebooked again for Valentine’s Day Food 5 out of 5 Service 5 out of 5 Atmosphere 5 out of 5 Keep it up guys and I wish you all the best for the future

We booked in advance to dine at the Taj as we heard it does get busy and glad we did. The atmosphere was great along with nice food and great service from staff. We ordered a variety of dishes veg and non-veg which was enjoyed by all. We asked the chef to make some dishes extra spicey which the chef did nicely. Deffo worth a visit if your in the area.

We ordered a takeaway away after visiting the restaurant because it was so nice. Such a difference thought. Items missing, barely warm when it turned up. Crispy items eg potatoes all mushy and horrible. Mixed grill was awful. Dried up, no care 8n it at all looked like it had just been threw together. Curry nice but everything else really a disappointment

Tuve parto. Qué horror. Alimentos fríos, no todos los artículos entregados. Parecía que lo habían tirado en contenedores. Curry era decente, pero el descanso no era comestible. Terminó tirando en la papelera. No tengo miedo de dar comentarios para mejorar, pero se encontró con un argumento y la aceptación de que las comidas para llevar se ven así. ¡No lo hacen!

Last night, we visited The Taj Bar and Grill in Leicester, and it was absolutely brilliant! At last, an Indian restaurant with a modern, straightforward menu—you don’t have to flick through endless pages. You simply pick your favourite curry, choose your options (chicken, paneer, tiger prawn, lamb, etc.), select your side, and decide how spicy you want it—mild, medium, spicy, or extra hot. It’s a bit like an American-style or Nando’s menu but for Indian food, which is fantastic as you can completely personalise your meal to your liking. The vegan options were a real standout—so many choices, and each one bursting with flavour! We’ve tried loads of Indian restaurants in Leicester, but only a few have made it onto our list of regular spots. This one has definitely joined that list—it’s a place we’ll be coming back to, 100%. For spice lovers, there’s even a "Devil’s Curry" challenge! I wasn’t brave enough to try it, but it’s such a unique idea—I’ve never seen anything like it in other Indian restaurants. On top of all that, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the cocktails were spot-on. We felt so well looked after and can’t wait to visit again!

En realidad tenía una comida para llevar. Llegué a casa y empecé a comer la mezcla chisporroteando llegué al pollo blanco por suerte lo corté y busqué encontrarlo crudo en el medio 🤢. Los errores ocurren así llamado el restaurante para explicar y les envió fotos. Se ofrecieron a enviar pollo blanco de reemplazo ni siquiera todo el plato. Realmente ya no nos apetecía comer, ya que teníamos un curry también. Le pregunté si podían reembolsarnos por el chisporroteo que no estaban teniendo. El gerente estaba demasiado ocupado para atender una llamada que pedí que me llamaran al día siguiente, nunca sucedió. Simple no los usaría de nuevo

El pescado con sal y pimienta era excelente y dudo que se pudiera mejorar en cualquier lugar. Uno de los mejores platos de balti que hemos probado durante mucho tiempo y los naans eran tan ligeros. Excelente ajo, excelente peshawari. Nuestro propietario favorito estaba allí también. Tan amigable. Recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante.

Our family went to Taj Bar and Grill last night, the experience was fantastic and the food was absolutely brilliant, from the starters through to the mains and we had both non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes, all of them were fantastic and good portion sizes. The service was great and also the atmosphere. This place is a hidden little gem, definitely has become one of our go to places for a fantastic meal and evening out. Great family curry meal night out. Well done Taj Bar and Grill👌👌

Food was very nice but the delivery time was bad and it was very expensive , which I don’t mind if you get complimentary papadums etc. but you are charged a lot for them and the takeaway menu is expensive and also it took one and a half hours to deliver, also last time I ordered I asked for chicken tikka Dhansak but it wasn’t tikka, it was normal chicken but couldn’t be bothered to ring back as I was so hungry, I think this place could be great if they had more staff delivering and they need to give free papadums etc to there customers who spend well at least like all other Indian takeaways I’ve used always do, I’ve worked in this industry and if you’re not careful you can become greedy etc and start losing valuable customers especially as there is a lot of competition out there.

On numerous occasions, I've found myself waiting over two hours for my food to arrive, despite being assured of a much shorter wait time when placing the order. The frustration is compounded by the need to repeatedly call the restaurant to inquire about the status of my order. When they do answer the phone, explaining the situation from scratch each time becomes tiresome and aggravating. Adding to the disappointment is the apparent lack of responsiveness to customer feedback. Despite negative reviews highlighting similar issues with delivery and customer service, there seems to be little effort from Taj Tandoori to address or rectify these concerns. It's disheartening to see a business overlook the importance of engaging with their customers and resolving issues promptly. In conclusion, while Taj Tandoori offers delicious food that's worth savoring, the overall experience falls short due to unreliable delivery service and unfulfilled promises. For those considering ordering from this establishment, be prepared for potential delays and frustrations. Hopefully, Taj Tandoori will take heed of customer feedback and make improvements to ensure a more satisfying dining experience in the future. I’ve been ordering from Taj Bar and Grill regularly for over a year, often spending over £80 per order. In all that time, they’ve never once bothered to include a complimentary poppadom, which I find disappointing given my loyalty. My most recent order was the last straw. The poppadoms were stale, so I called the restaurant to let them know and ask for a replacement. Instead of any apology or attempt to fix the issue, I got a dismissive "yeah" from the staff member. No care at all—it felt like a joke. The quality of the food is also dropping. The sizzler I ordered this time tasted like it was made from pre-cooked items that had been sitting around for 2-3 days. This place is clearly cutting corners, and it shows in the taste and freshness of the food. On top of that, my order on 28-09-2024 was over two hours late. I was told multiple times that the driver was just "2-3 minutes away"—that turned into 15 minutes with no sign of the food. I used to own a restaurant, and I always made sure my regular customers received small gestures of goodwill to keep them coming back. It’s a basic rule of customer service, and Taj Bar and Grill completely ignores it. We’ve started ordering from another place that provides complimentary poppadoms without even having to ask, and they treat their customers right. Expect a weak response from the owner to this review, but the reality is, they’ve lost a loyal customer due to their poor service and shortcuts with food quality.

I took the daughter and grand kids we have been a few times and always had fantastic food this time for a change we had the large sizzler with boiled rice and I had mushrooms rice with a portion of madras sauce the kids youngest had chicken nuggets and chips and the elder had chicken tikka masala with rice or and popadoms to start with everything cooked to perfection even the chicken nuggets looked really tasty I’m from the north of England but the next time I’m at the daughters we will be back

Ordered from here twice now. Both times we've been blown away with how good it is. Having lived in leicester for about 20 years, Ive not tasted anything better than this! Everything is so flavourful, fresh and cooked to a very high standard. The lamb pathia and garlic chilli chicken are next level! Wont be going anywhere else for Indian any time soon!

I was visiting from Canada and was recommended the Taj restaurant by a friend. It was very impressive…Top quality food and service! The Lipta Kebabs were out of this world…you must try these for yourself! Great prices too! Next time I visit the UK I will be bringing all my friends here to try this unique experience! Ordered online, the food was awful. I shared a buttered chicken with my daughter as she’s not keen on spice and the curry was really spicy, cold and chicken was like cutting a steak. No pickle tray and sides were cold, the chips tasted like they had been reheated 4 times. Won’t order again 😩 waste of money

Best meal out I've had all year! We ordered the large mix grill and fish pakora 10/10. Mains was also good. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff and nice chilled vibe. Would recommend and will be returning :) Only down side- toilet could be cleaner lol

El martes por la noche, a eso de las 7. 30 pm, restaurante ocupado pero no lleno y no habíamos reservado. Tuve un saag de cordero caliente que era delicioso con un montón de cordero muy bien cocinado en grandes trozos. el calor de la guindilla era perfecto, no demasiado caliente, así que me alegré de haber pedido caliente y no media. amigo tenía pollo Tikka masala que era perfecto para él también. encantador naan delgado de ajo. compartió un postre que era muy agradable y no caro como en muchos restaurantes.

En pocas palabras, The Taj es nuestro 'go to' para el curry. El Korma suave se mide perfectamente para nuestros hijos y el cordero caliente / pollo Karahi & Tawa es perfecto para los gustos míos y de mi esposa. Ha estado entrando con la familia y los compañeros desde que abrió y The Taj nunca se ha quedado corto. El único problema es que, si alguna vez vamos a otro sitio (no en Leicester) , es un concierto difícil de igualar : - )

This place is so deservedly popular that you need to book (nb they take a £5/head deposit at the time of booking, refunded on the bill). The best biryani I've ever had (rice glistening with colourful, flavoursome bits and spices). Fish pakora was a new one on me and absolutely delicious. Really good value. We'll be back when next in Leicester!

We ordered a takeaway & the quality of service & food was excellent! We had salt & pepper fish, jeera wings & chilli paneer starters & all were generous portion sizes & delicious! Special mention to the salt & pepper fish, that so so tasty! Our main dishes were just as good, having ordered channa masala, paneer balti & lamb keema tawa. All dishes & breads & rice that accompanied were delicious & the portion sizes were also very generous! We will definitely be returning for our next takeaway soon!

Delicious Appetizers, The Butter chicken and Naan ( Best I had till date) and a wide variety of Drinks on the Menu is what a customer looks for. Went yesterday for a family birthday with a party of 10. We were 30 mins late for our 1730 booking due to how bad the traffic was. We have been several times before to The Taj. This experience was quite poor. When I initially booked, I could barely hear the lady due to the noise and had to keep repeating myself to her. I wasn’t told we had to vacate the table by 2000 until we got there in spite of calling ahead to tell them we were running late. The food was good, But the whole experience was rushed and in all honesty we felt like numbers and not customers. The wine selection is very poor indeed. They only had Bearfoot Wine and none of us wanted it. The staff are lovely and the food is good. But this experience was marred by the rush, rush attitude. We happily spent £250 but not sure if we will return.

Waited 3 hours for my food and when it finally arrived it was cold and was not edible. When I rang to ask they were no help and just blamed it on traffic but the driver said there was no traffic. So then tried to blame it on the cold weather to then turn around and say it was nothing to do with them and they could not help resolve the issue. First and last time ordering here and I am not impressed at all.

We planned a family dinner at the taj I have had takeaways from this restaurant a number of times but this time we decided to seat inside, staff are friendly and food was amazing I am a vegetarian I have to say best Tarka dhal and rice also the veg sizzler is really good . Large selection of drinks and you can’t go wrong with it . Will definitely be returning in the near future keep up the tasty food and friendly service !

Really good! we ordered the dhansak and tika masala , the lamb is so soft and flavours are amazing, not greasy. Even the rice had a great flavour. Beautiful curries, so glad we found this restaurant, we had stopped ordering take out as I always like the idea if it but often had been left dissapointed with other restaurants. Will def be reccomending here to family and friends and look forward to ordering again.

Went here last week. We had the mixed grill sizzler which was nice but not quite as good as some that I have had at places down Melton Rd. We shared 3 curries between 4 of us (korma, balti and bhuna) all were really nice as was the naan bread, rice and chips. Good value too.

Some of the best food I’ve had in ages. Samosas were absolutely delicious and the mixed grill was superb - huge portion too!

I have had a take away from here before and it was good so decided to come here on a Friday night, rang up and booked table with no wait so good and lady on phone was nice. The place itself inside is clean nice with fire plave on the TVs, the only thing I would change is that it was a tad too bright inside for a late night meal. Food itself was absolutely amazing and came out reasonable quick and the service was good. This place is now my favourite place for Indian food and we were able to doggy bag left overs which I had the following day A++ on the food.
