In truth, the location is very nice. Clean inside. Food was average. Orderd lamb with extra vegetables. The lamb was very fatty. More so than normal. The vegetables that came with the lamb was brocoli. The extra vegetables orderd separate was carrots and guess what broccoli. Bit lazy for £26. I feel there trying to be something their not. All in all I won't be going back.

Usually happy with food but disappointed at latest visit. Coffee machine was broken so I could not have a herbal tea. I would have thought they might have had a kettle. Also, I have only their word for it that the nut cutlets we ordered had nuts in them. They tasted like rissoles to me and I found no trace of nuts. Disappointed. The mushrooms were tasty but very salty.

I lived in the area for ages and frequently drove past : now we’re in Wales but we’ve eaten here twice in the last week. The Swan is Tardis like, with so much dining room but arranged so it still feels intimate or cosy. You get a genuinely warm welcome. Staff are excellent. Decent choices on the menu: we returned for the second visit without booking, because the first experience was so good. Just the same second time around. Real Ale was perfect and house wines very good

Went for Sunday lunch. Given a wonderful, generous roast dinner with an oversized Yorkie on top, like an ode to the Malvern hills themselves. Starter was very good too - beetroot salmon gravlax. Good service. Very comfortable dining inside and outside with a covered area. Dogs allowed in the bar area. Overlooks a small village green and the village pond. Worth booking in advance as popular. Not far from the 3 counties showground and a camping site a mile away.

Wonderful attendance from the outset. Young team but very well trained, and I didn't have to ask for anything it was all served impeccably... The only reason I didn't rate it 5star was because 2 of the 4 meals came colder, and one pork dish was very tough. I should have returned those but failed to on our part. Would go again, but if meals were cold , I would send them back to the kitchen. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant evening.

Our third attempt at having lunch at this place on a Tuesday afternoon was met with disappointment. Despite the empty interior and only a few tables outside, we were initially hopeful. We ordered our drinks, received menus, and were told to come back to the bar to order when ready. However, when we returned to place our food order for two people, we were informed that they were too busy to take food orders at the moment and to come back in 15 minutes. This was frustrating, especially considering the place was nearly empty. When we asked about the situation, we were told that they only had a small kitchen. The lack of service and inability to provide timely kitchen service for such low capacity was baffling. We weren't willing to wait and then potentially have to fight for our place in another queue once the kitchen reopened. So, we took our drinks back to the bar and requested a refund, as we had only taken a sip. It's disappointing to see the decline in service at a place that used to be good. They even suggested booking in the future for a Tuesday lunch, which seemed unnecessary for a pub and garden with such low capacity. It's clear that they need to improve their operations, as even a chain like Harvester provides better service when busy.

We are on holiday so will sadly not be able to return here but we were very impressed! The food is delicious & reasonably priced but for us, the real show stopper is the garden! The layout has been carefully thought about to give each table privacy while still being part of the atmosphere and it looks beautiful! Very dog friendly-each table has a little hook to attach your dog to and all staff are lovely and welcoming. Many of them asked to fuss our dogs as they walked past & even brought out treats & water for them. Wish this pub was closer to home so we could visit more

We stopped off at the Hanley Swan for a pint and something light to eat. The setting on the village green is beautiful. While the pint was lovely the food was expensive and disappointing. Having ordered some 3x fried chunky chips I was a little surprised to have something more like chunky oven chips (soggy and definitely not 3 times fried) served in something that looked like a pen holder from a desk organiser set that you might find at home bargains. Arty presentation but very poor standard/value for money. While the bar staff were polite enough the staff circulating around the tables were actually quite unpleasant. I doubt we will return even though we’re often in the area.

We had a poor experience here. Stayed in the pub for 1 night but the toilet didn't work and the shower was pathetic. Told the toilet would be fixed, but no one ever came. Food was good, but it was busy and the waiting staff looked very stressed. Might have been because of a short power cut, but didn't seem to have any decent management going on. Staff were moody and sullen apart from Joe, who was excellent. Garden is fantastic, and the band that played outside was great. The music inside from a singer made absolutely no sense and was poorly judged...singing dance classic in an old pub was ridiculous. Didn't need this at all as it was so busy there was already a buzzy atmosphere. Might have been a one-off, but somehow I doubt it.

My wife and I stayed here for one night before visiting the flea market at the County Showground the next day. The room was OK, but the toilet didn't flush and when I told them about it, they said they'd get it fixed...which they didn't. Shower was also pretty pathetic in terms of power and heat. We ate in the restaurant that evening having booked a table. The place has received a power cut for 10 mins that evening, and so we were asked to wait for our table to be prepared. When we were finally shown to our table, we were sat there for 15 mins waiting for someone to take our order. When we finally managed to get someone's attention, they said we'd have to wait to order as the kitchen hadn't caught up with the backlog. Thanks for telling us. We were offered some complimentary olives and bread, which were well received as we were starving. Food, when it came was lovely but the waiting staff were really sullen and moody, and really not very friendly at all, including what I presume was the restaurant manager. She was quite rude to some of her staff and the general vibe was one of stress. We have to give a huge shout out, however, to Joe working behind the bar, who was a breath of fresh air, funny, engaging, and up for a laugh. Had it not been for him, it would've been a very very poor experience all round. I'd suggest you make him the manager if you're reading this.

What an absolute gem of a genuine village pub. The location is fabulous, the pub sits on the edge of the village green, with the village shop and duck pond opposite. I would describe this as the unspoilt village location, it truly warms the heart. We strolled from the local caravan and camping club site (1mile, easy walk). The pub is absolutely gorgeous, retaining the essence of the old traditional pubs of my English youth, characterful, beamed, with comfortable seating inside and out, and fabulous food. We decided on sandwiches for lunch, one beef and one lamb (Gyro), both came with a fresh side salad and fries. You choose the bread you would like, and the bread is fantastically fresh and the beef/lamb truly melt in the mouth. Best pub sandwiches ever. To accompany the food we had glasses of White Rioja and Argentinian Malbec, again very acceptable, well rounded wine. The staff were extremely professional and friendly, the pub itself is spotless and enjoyed by the locals as well as visitors. If you venture this way, the pub is a must visit, you will not be disappointed.

This pub/restaurant is a little gem. There are plenty of areas to enjoy a drink and a meal and the various areas cater for dog friendly visitors or non dog friendly visitors. The venue has lots of character and overlooks the village green. The food is served to a high standard and we were stuck for choice. We chose different courses so that we could try more items. The meals are of a substantial size but we couldn’t resist a dessert......and they were also delicious.

If we’d been there 3 hours earlier to eat the roast potatoes when they were first cooked it would have been good! The menu was a traditional Sunday lunch offering and I’d probably not go on a Sunday again - for some places it seems to just give them a license to cook a big batch of food early doors & then keep it hot. At least if you’re ordering individual meals off a much wider menu, it makes it more difficult to take that short cut in preparation! The couple next to us complained about theirs at the end of their meal - and got a discount - so we suspect that the pub knew what they were turning out wasn’t really up to scratch! Aspects of the meal suggested it had the potential to be rather better than our experience - so will give it another go at some point.

Had breakfast and food was disappointing and over priced. Food and drink quality was not as advertised and poor quality. Eggs were cooked badly. Sausage was hard as a rock. Potatoes overcooked.

Right, started off with a few Stellas, turned into a game of pool which made the vibe just perfect. Shuffled outside outside, to some shots and more Stellas! I can’t recommend it enough, get down here now!

I feel sad that I can’t give this pub 5 stars, I would if it was based on the pub itself but sadly the service very much let the experience down. The pub itself is really lovely. It has great spaces such as dog friendly areas, conservatory, areas where dogs aren’t allowed, stunning conservatory and great outdoor seating under cover. The decor is stunning and has lots of fairy lights which give it a cosy and romantic feel. First time we went there was just for drinks. It took 15 minutes for someone to realise that we hadn’t been served. When we had finished no one bothered to ask if we wanted more, so we left. The next time we came we were hopeful that the service would be a bit better as we went for breakfast and were the only people in there. Food was really good and was good value, especially for the full English. The service was still slow and no one bothered to ask if everything was ok. When we wanted the bill it seemed everyone had vanished and it took ages for us to find someone. We were then charged incorrectly and it was a bit of a faff to sort out. Great pub but sadly the service really does let it down. Needs vast improvement.

Having just got home from a holiday in Italy we fancied a final evening out but our local was fully booked. The Lion was second choice as it is not walkable for us. Very buzzy atmosphere, good pub food and , best of all, the most excellent service, from a young woman who seemed to do everything front of house and still have time to chat, quite up to anything we had abroad.

We called in here before a concert at Stanbrook Abbey and both had fish and chips. They were really delicious and very tasty. I don't like mushy peas and had a decent salad with it instead, not just a "garnish". The prices are reasonable too. Not many pubs now with good price points. A nice welcome and friendly lady. We will definitely revisit next time we are in Worcester.
