Had a booking for dinner for 4 people, we arrived 45 minutes early to have a drink in the garden, we sat outside and had our drinks, all good. But then it all went to hell. At the time of our booking, we came in for our table but had to wait at least 5 minutes to be seated. No problem with that but we sat at our table for at least 30 minutes and no one approached us or offered us any explanation. We flagged someone down and finally a very friendly waitress came and took our order, we were given drinks but I did not want to have another drink until I had some food. We were not given our food until another 45 minutes! Then when I got my burger- it was not fully cooked inside! I couldn’t send it back even if I wanted to as no waitress was around until we were finished. I was very disappointed and the service and quality of the food were terrible. We were offered a free drink and my friends accepted one, but I cannot drink without eating - so this offer was not good for me. It’s a lovely looking pub, but the bad service ruined my evening, I would not return.

Stopped in here for a few beers after a long drive to the campsite up the road. Friendly atmosphere and a good looking pub. Arrived at the bar to see a flat Morretti being served up to someone so dodged that and had a Guinness instead. Was also a bit disappointing being served Guinness in non Guinness glasses but not the end of the world. The bar staff were a bit hit and miss but majority were friendly and efficient considering how busy it was. The pub gets very busy, all times of the week apparently. I would recommend getting there earlier rather than later if you want a table inside

The pub serves absolutely delicious food . It is well thought out, in a beautiful location. However, A family arrived and sat their 3 very loud children on the table behind us, while the parents sat 3 tables down. We and another elderly couple had a very disturbed meal because of these unsupervised children. Really disappointed.

The Swan has such a convenient location right by M5 Junction 7 on the edge of Worcester, which makes it a great place to meet up with people, avoiding town traffic. However, we like meeting there mainly because it has a very pleasant, comfortable, relaxing atmosphere in a beautiful old building and the food is excellent.

Live local prob visit 6 times a year Love there truffle fries with Parmesan but the quantity was smaller than I remember. As a. Vegetarian I had no choose just the squash risotto which I dident want my friend had it. It looked stodgy and boring. So I had a starter as a main the cauliflower bites deep fried they were over cooked the cauliflower was dark brown in the middle and dry tasteless not crispy as I would have expected. Our other dinners were very happy with there steaks and salad So at £160 for 3 starters and 3 mains one bottle of Prosecco 2 pints of beer not good value for money and v slow service. such a shame.

Came for a light lunch in this much reccomended pub. Saturday afternoon and the bar was half full. Lots of waiting staff but no one behind the bar. Waited for 10 minutes and completely ignored by 4 waiters. No acknowledgment at all. Eventually I had to go and find someone to serve! Then told that would not take any food orders for at least 15 minutes as the kitchen was very busy. Found this quite odd. Why not take our order and warn us that there would be a wait as they were very busy? We then felt awkward going back to ask if it was ok to order now! Finished our drinks and left to find a more welcoming eatery.

This is not a cheap restaurant. So when there are only two options that meet your dietary requirement you are already disappointed not to have more choice. I had the squash risotto, vegan. It has to be the biggest waste of calories ever, basically a bland plate of stodge with walnuts on top. Where was the effort to make this less boring? Such a disappointment. My family ate meat and were mostly pleased, though one person had a chicken dish that sounds as dull as the risotto. Add this to it taking over 30 minutes for them to come and take a food order… Overall the whole experience was very average.

10/10. We have recently become frequent visitors of The Swan at Hanley as it is by far the best pub around. The staff are exceptional, same goes for the service. The drinks are excellent and I will add always a perfectly clean glass! I know that sounds silly but not enough places will serve out of a nice clean glass anymore and it really makes a difference when you get to drink out a glass that’s not dirty! Myself and my partner tried the new menu they have just brought in and what a treat it was! We had a three course meal each and it was worth every single penny. Most definitely recommend the Swan for both a drink or a top quality meal. Special thanks to Immy for looking after us! See you soon!

Wonderful attendance from the outset. Young team but very well trained, and I didn't have to ask for anything it was all served impeccably... The only reason I didn't rate it 5star was because 2 of the 4 meals came colder, and one pork dish was very tough. I should have returned those but failed to on our part. Our third attempt at having lunch at this place on a Tuesday afternoon was met with disappointment. Despite the empty interior and only a few tables outside, we were initially hopeful. We ordered our drinks, received menus, and were told to come back to the bar to order when ready. However, when we returned to place our food order for two people, we were informed that they were too busy to take food orders at the moment and to come back in 15 minutes. This was frustrating, especially considering the place was nearly empty. When we asked about the situation, we were told that they only had a small kitchen. The lack of service and inability to provide timely kitchen service for such low capacity was baffling. We weren't willing to wait and then potentially have to fight for our place in another queue once the kitchen reopened. So, we took our drinks back to the bar and requested a refund, as we had only taken a sip. It's disappointing to see the decline in service at a place that used to be good. They even suggested booking in the future for a Tuesday lunch, which seemed unnecessary for a pub and garden with such low capacity. It's clear that they need to improve their operations, as even a chain like Harvester provides better service when busy.

We stopped off at the Hanley Swan for a pint and something light to eat. The setting on the village green is beautiful. While the pint was lovely the food was expensive and disappointing. Having ordered some 3x fried chunky chips I was a little surprised to have something more like chunky oven chips (soggy and definitely not 3 times fried) served in something that looked like a pen holder from a desk organiser set that you might find at home bargains. Arty presentation but very poor standard/value for money. While the bar staff were polite enough the staff circulating around the tables were actually quite unpleasant. I doubt we will return even though we’re often in the area.

My wife and I stayed here for one night before visiting the flea market at the County Showground the next day. The room was OK, but the toilet didn't flush and when I told them about it, they said they'd get it fixed...which they didn't. Shower was also pretty pathetic in terms of power and heat. We ate in the restaurant that evening having booked a table. The place has received a power cut for 10 mins that evening, and so we were asked to wait for our table to be prepared. When we were finally shown to our table, we were sat there for 15 mins waiting for someone to take our order. When we finally managed to get someone's attention, they said we'd have to wait to order as the kitchen hadn't caught up with the backlog. Thanks for telling us. We were offered some complimentary olives and bread, which were well received as we were starving. Food, when it came was lovely but the waiting staff were really sullen and moody, and really not very friendly at all, including what I presume was the restaurant manager. She was quite rude to some of her staff and the general vibe was one of stress. We have to give a huge shout out, however, to Joe working behind the bar, who was a breath of fresh air, funny, engaging, and up for a laugh. Had it not been for him, it would've been a very very poor experience all round. I'd suggest you make him the manager if you're reading this.

We had a poor experience here. Stayed in the pub for 1 night but the toilet didn't work and the shower was pathetic. Told the toilet would be fixed, but no one ever came. Food was good, but it was busy and the waiting staff looked very stressed. Might have been because of a short power cut, but didn't seem to have any decent management going on. Staff were moody and sullen apart from Joe, who was excellent. Garden is fantastic, and the band that played outside was great. The music inside from a singer made absolutely no sense and was poorly judged...singing dance classic in an old pub was ridiculous. Didn't need this at all as it was so busy there was already a buzzy atmosphere. Might have been a one-off, but somehow I doubt it.

What an absolute gem of a genuine village pub. The location is fabulous, the pub sits on the edge of the village green, with the village shop and duck pond opposite. I would describe this as the unspoilt village location, it truly warms the heart. We strolled from the local caravan and camping club site (1mile, easy walk). The pub is absolutely gorgeous, retaining the essence of the old traditional pubs of my English youth, characterful, beamed, with comfortable seating inside and out, and fabulous food. We decided on sandwiches for lunch, one beef and one lamb (Gyro), both came with a fresh side salad and fries. You choose the bread you would like, and the bread is fantastically fresh and the beef/lamb truly melt in the mouth. Best pub sandwiches ever. To accompany the food we had glasses of White Rioja and Argentinian Malbec, again very acceptable, well rounded wine. The staff were extremely professional and friendly, the pub itself is spotless and enjoyed by the locals as well as visitors. If you venture this way, the pub is a must visit, you will not be disappointed.

Stayed overnight and also had an evening meal. Room was clean and tidy although quite small with a very small window and a sloped ceiling bathroom which restricted headroom. That said it was excellent value with a nice breakfast included. The evening meal was very good with a great menu, but booking is required. Recommended - would stay again

Stayed for one night. Ate dinner in the restaurant which was very nice. The room was pleasant but the bed was very uncomfortable. We prefer a firm mattress but this was beyond firm, and obviously well worn as there was a dip each side. Not a good night’s rest sadly. The breakfast was excellent though!

Great selection of beers. Bar area is small with low ceiling and can get cramped when busy. Didn't stay or eat but from what we saw would definitely come back to try. Only draw back cubicle in gents toilet is so small that you can barely use it unless your a stick man!!!

On a late decision we went to The Swan for an evening meal. It was a Monday and it was relatively quiet as we dined early. The food was very good, and so was the nice bottle of white wine we chose, all reasonably priced. The staff were attentive. We will go again.

What a lovely little pub, a bit scruffy from the outside but don't let that put you off. Ale selection limited but what was there was good. I'll be back.

Visited twice this week for dinner as we were staying nearby. Food was excellent and the Brakespeare ale superb. Bar staff were very friendly and made a great fuss of my Labrador. We were told about the 10% service charge and asked if we wanted it removed, which we didn't! Just one thing, if you're 6ft ish, make sure to duck! Highly recommended.

Simply can’t go wrong with the Lounges! Good food, quirky and cosy atmosphere. Good selection of drinks. Another one to tick off the list, the consistency of great service across this chain is amazing.
