Best Sunday lunch around, no doubt! The atmosphere is brilliant, an really well run and relaxed place to be. The garden in the sunshine is idyllic. No misconceptions of being anything else but a village pub! I'm a big fan of the selection of beers/ ciders available and in regards to the food have never been disappointed with the quality or portion size. Pudding on this occasion was especially good! You can end up paying more for a lot less in pubs not far away. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Booking was simple and easy over the phone.

Excellent Sunday Lunch Ate with friends and had the roast lamb, one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had. Ample meat, potatoes, Yorkshire pudd, a variety of vegetables and really tasty gravy. All piping hot and full of flavour, absolutely delish 😋 Only downside was we couldn’t have pudding because they had ran out!! Apart from that 5*, will definitely be back.

We went in for a lemonade and a lime and soda and the man wasn't very friendly. The lemonade was flat from a bottle and the soda was from a half full,(flat) bottle which he then threw on the floor and then opened a new one so it wasn't at all fizzy. He poured so much lime cordial into it that I had to stop him and both drinks were horrible and not worth the money £4.50! Sorry Huntsman. All we wanted was a cool drink on our dog walk.

I've been waiting to go here for ages, it's only up the road from where I live but always circumstances hamper my plans🤦‍♂️ Father's day I got there 🥳 People I can safely say it was well worth it. The feel of the establishment was quaint and countryfied, coupled with the ambience and anticipation I was excited because I've been told of the food to which I was not disappointed. The roast dinner was fantastic, proper home cooked Yorkshire pudding and decent portions of meat and veg said my family. I however had the 10 oz sirloin cooked medium, belissimo. Very nice chips too. This bar / eatery is also known for a specific ale 🍺 Bathams no less and what an amazing pint or 2 they were 😁 the main reason for me going actually If you've not been then put it on your list to do, the staff were great, friendly and attentive. Ask and you shall receive is my impression I seriously cannot wait for my next visit

Visited this pub this evening as they have recently got a new chef so wanted to check it out. The burger was huge and full of flavour, chicken juicy, salad fresh and the chips….wow crunchy on the outside & fluffy on the inside! For pudding we had a chocolate fondant & a berry cheesecake. The cheesecake was light and perfectly portioned. The fondant was rich and chocolatey and hit the spot perfectly. The waiting staff were very attentive. We will certainly be back…I’d like to try the Sunday Roast next, I’ve heard great reviews about it!

Having a friend from London visiting we were, poking for a Batham’s Bitter outlet. The Batham’s Brewery confirmed that their brew was available here we beat a path to their door. Batham’s Bitter at £3.20 a pint was well worth the time it took to discover it. We did not need any food and sat socially distanced and were left wondering how many pints the “professional” drinkers were meant to drink. Mine host was perfectly affable with all payment methods accepted. There is a convivial atmosphere in the pub and we wish them every success.

A passing call for lunch whilst en route to elsewhere. Roadside pub with tables set up in the bar area. Most laid up for prebooked groups. Large car park. Printed menu and specials board. Two course deal available with smaller portions. Meal chosen was a reasonable size; very hot and plentiful chips. Prices seemed on the high side (for example cheesy garlic bread starter at £6.50) and a similar meal taken elsewhere earlier that week had cost me £3 less. I am not sure the premium paid for this pub meal was worth that much. Service was attentive and prompt .

Very disappointed. I booked this for Sunday Lunch to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary with our family, a group of 16 including 4 children. I phoned beforehand to ask if the pub was 'dog friendly' and was told it was. When we arrived we were told by the kitchen staff that no dogs were allowed in the restaurant. A short while later the proprietor told us it would be OK for the puppy to stay. The menu was a roast lunch of Chicken, Lamb, Pork or Beef. Between us we had a variety. The beef was tough. The chicken was chicken breasts not whole chicken roasted. The huge Yorkshire puddings looked as if they had been heated up under a grill and burned on the top. The 'roast' potatoes were soggy and had not one iota of crispness. The whole dish was covered in a glutinous thick gravy so any crispness in the Yorkshire puddings had disappeared before it was served. In general I coud not recommend this restaurant, but as a pub it may well be reasonable.

The staff are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. The interior is great inside and we’d booked a few days in advance to make sure we got a table. Only downside is that the beer selection is limited... A few more ales on tap would make it that extra bit special. Nevertheless, it’s a lovely place and well worth a visit. Thank you

We called in here before a concert at Stanbrook Abbey and both had fish and chips. They were really delicious and very tasty. I don't like mushy peas and had a decent salad with it instead, not just a "garnish". The prices are reasonable too. Not many pubs now with good price points. A nice welcome and friendly lady.
