We had a lovely family Birthday meal last night I would like to Thank Denise & her lovely staff we booked in for 17 & it was so organised and efficient.We all enjoyed our meals alot of selection of veg on the carvery. our waitress was very helpful and made our night extra special.Donna & family

The Swan in, I used to deliver to this location 45 years ago and have returned on many occasions this year with friends from Bromsgrove, I have never had a better carvery., you even get the option of a small plate at £10 fantastic value. The atmosphere is buzzing and the food is excellent, beautiful surroundings and im not sure if this inn is managed by the same team as The Nailors Arms which is also excellent. If you’ve not been your missing out on a treat. Five star all the way

Visited for lunch I had a carvery while parter and young one ordered off the menu. Carvery offered a real food selection at a good quality posing good value for money, would prefer home made Yorkshires though

We have drove past this restaurant so many times, and never been to check it out, so we decided to book a family meal yesterday for Sunday lunch. I can honestly say it was the best carvery I have ever had. The food was delicious and we ever stayed for desserts. A huge thank you to our wonderful waitress Megan F. The waitress with the shirt ginger hair. Being a family dinner with mostly little ones she was so friendly and kind to us, it’s very difficult to find somewhere with excellent food, and even better service, especially with very small children. I will definitely be returning for lunch again. If you are looking for a carvery place I would suggest this place every time.

Food was excellent, most of the group had a carvery with just one of us choosing from the main menu. Service was slow, we had drinks and then a 15 minute wait to order. Once finished it was 20 minutes to clear plates at which point we gave up on dessert and left. It was clear other customers were having similar experience. Really needs some supervision on service

The carvery was good but the service was terrible as our table wasn’t checked whilst eating and we had to keep on chasing the bill 3 times so after we eventually got the bill we asked for the manager who was very rude and not understanding and didn’t offer to reduce bill for the inconvenience and didn’t apologise after waiting over 30 minutes for the bill and chasing members of staff. One of staff said they were too busy in the kitchen when we asked whilst speaking to the manager she didn’t offer to reduce bill so we said we would write a poor review and we wouldn’t be returning so she decided to take off the two drinks and she wasn’t happy about it . Very disappointing and poor service . The restaurant wasn’t busy.

Staff polite and friendly, Excellent food, Would highly recommend this place you get a lovely warm welcome, I will return.

Cannot fault this place, the lunchtime carvery is amazing, lots of choice and tastes really fresh. Lots of choice on the menus, the restaurant has a play area, outside seating, ample car parking and the inside is very airy with lovely decor and plenty of comfortable seating. The staff were lovely service was quick..the carvery was £10.25 and I would definitely recommend both the place and the food!

Couldn't recommend this place anymore than I already do ! Come here with friends normally (a few times with family) . But this evening came with my husband and children to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Food was delicious, unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert...but the children did of course and they all said they was delicious! Lovely friendly staff, the place is always clean. Excellent food, very accommodating staff and lovely surroundings. This establishment is covid friendly and it's evident that the management and team have worked hard to achieve this. The food is very reasonably priced and choice is plentiful. I would challenge anyone who can find surroundings, food and staff of this level at any other pub in the area.Will certainly be returning again and again.

This, and it’s sister bar Nailers Arms are by far the greatest carvery places around! The food is absolutely beautiful, great quality. You can tell the chef’s really care about what they are serving. I’d highly recommend here over a chain one - food just hits completely differently.PS the Baked Chocolate Orange cheesecake is beyond amazing.PPS they can only accept a tip in cash.

There were 5 of us booked in for Sunday carvery on the last Sunday in October . Very friendly & focused staff .The carveries were so very good once more ,with great selection of vegetables and succulent meats -I had gammon & beef - all very tasty . We ordered drinks too. Excellent!

Firt visit in over 30 years last month been at least once a week since twice this week Shula and the team make sure everyone is safe and well looked after wife ordering small carvery now still to big as with all meals cooked to perfection been years since served stake exactly as ordered took grandson again told to book a booth brillant just right hight no dissapearing under table and easy for nanny to cut up little ones food still the best we have had Thank You Everyone at The Swansee you soonAmina Bob & Kaylen ( 3 )

We booked in 5 adults for Sunday carvery. Friendly & attentive staff .The carveries were excellent once more with great selection of vegetables and meats- all very tasty We ordered drinks and one out of our family had a strawberry delight dessert which he thought was great

Me and a couple of friends came here for a carvery and it was the best carvery I have ever had. Food was fresh and tasty, the beef was amazing and you are able to have as much or as little as you want. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend anybody to give it a visit.

With all the rigmarole of COVID there is a warm welcome and politeness is noticeable. Each table is called up to the carvery separately to ensure safety. The food is served to you but you can have more or less if required.The food is exceptionally tasty and piping hot, I loved it and have already booked again for next week.Well done everyone at The Swan for outstanding service and beautiful food.

Had a really lovely carvery here tonight. No need to worry about not being able to serve yourself, the chef is very generous with a fantastic meat and vegetable selection and is more than happy to smother it in very tasty gravy for you. Served in very nice surroundings with attentive and efficient staff. Good dessert selection too.

I’ve been here numerous times when visiting my parents, and always thought the quality of the food good and prices very reasonable. I was down from Yorkshire today and had a carvery with my parents in these Covid times. Greeting was welcoming and I’m so glad we chose the carvery, as it was the best I’ve had for years if not ever. My only criticism would be the plate wasn’t big enough. Friendly staff, excellent value can’t recommend any higher, will be coming back and bringing friends.

Very covid secure, staff were cleaning constantly, staff very friendly, food great. Very reassuring in strange times.

The carvery food was beautiful, just like the sister pub the nailers arms.Everything was organised for you, food, drinks and excellent service.Cannot fault this pub and restaurant, good value for money.

I traveled all the way from Hertfordshire and I was not disappointed, everyone was really friendly! The chef with glasses and greyish hair was amazing, I would definitely go for a pint with him.

The first time I went our meal was spoilt by the incessant ringing of the telephone. I went again last Wednesday with a group. The staff, the waitresses and the barman spent most of the time we were there standing in the corner by the bar chatting, instead of looking after us, their customers. Also there is a limited choice of vegetarian, either chillie or curry both vegan. Not a place I would recommend!

Booked in 6 adults and 2 small children for Sunday carvery .Spacious interior and very welcoming ,helpful and friendly staff .The carveries were excellent-succulent meats and wide ranging selection of vegetables all very tasty. We all though this carvery was top notch

Wasnt parents last visit returned today as grandparents impressive decor eccellent food and service will definetly be back not so long next time couple of minor issues unable to have extramley small carvery on large plate so nanny could cut up food for grandson so ended up with small plate with pyramid of food that a three year old was never going to eat so wasteful think company should review this policy I get the I see I want mentality but all we wanted was a tiny portion and room on the plate to disect it without it going everywhere seats are also to low for toddlers lttle one kept sliding off under table need booster seats but still brilliant highly recommend a visit best carvery in midlands

Lovely welcome and COVID comfortable we had booked and were last sitting.We all had carvery and I was disappointed. Because we were last sitting all the veg was not at its best it had stood to long and was not very warm I feel it should have been refreshed rather than overstocked and kept warm. We were disappointed because usually the carvery is first class but this night is was poor.The service was good and staff very pleasant.

Excellent chips! They ran out of normal oven chips and had to use home made chips which were much much better. Defiantly can’t recommend enough to keep the home made chips!! Much nicer and tastier and easier for kitchen staff. Also social distancing and all staff wearing visors.

Very covid secure and enjoyed a wonderful meal with family. Very attentive staff and they also managed out gluten free dietary requirements with such help and professionalism! Would highly recommend and will be returning again soon.

Just returned from an early dinner at the Swan. Was a little apprehensive as to what the experience would be like during the Covid crisis but need not have worried. Lots of tables removed so social distancing can be followed. Hand sanitizer everywhere and all staff wear masks or visors. Paper menus so you know no-one else has touched it. All the meats and dishes are behind perspex screens so no customers coughing or breathing over the food. You can still have as much as you like except the Chef puts the food on your plate. I was really impressed and think this practice should continue once the virus risk has ended. The staff all worked so hard and we all felt perfectly safe. Well done management and staff. Will return soon.

Little late in posting this but we came here as a family on the first day of re opening. Was very quiet in there (understandably) but it actually made it a better experience! The staff were great. All had their PPE on and there was plenty of hand sanitizer around the pub for us to use. Cutlery was wrapped individually within a napkin for us and I got my nephews cutlery for him so the staff didnt need to touch it. The high chair was wiped clean for us however we did re clean, as with the table but we didnt need to to be honest. Chefs plated our food for us. Very good experience. Thank you all

As the sun was shining decided to brave going out for food for guest time since lockdownBeen to The Swan before so went to somewhere we trusted and they didn’t disappoint!!Food was excellent as usual and the staff were brilliant. They were all social distancing, wearing visors and all staff have hand sanitizer on them. Place was spotless and they made us feel really safe in the current situation but still an enjoyable lunch out!!Bravo to all staff, really impressed

The food is superb and the staff are excellent. Even during these difficult times the pub exudes welcome and warmth. All precautions are in place and safety is paramount. The food is so tasty and plentiful, the staff are wonderful in their caring for you. I recommend to everyone.

Went here this evening and amongst this covid madness i can honestly say that we felt completely comfortable and safe. We were nervous about going out after lockdown but i have to say that this restaurant was the best we have been to. It had everything covered, nobody crossed paths, plenty of sanatiser everywhere. Tables spaced perfectly, all staff in protective wear and to top it all we had a fantastic meal. Well done the swan, i only wish other places were as well organised as yourselves. We will definately be back and will tell everyone how safe it is there

This is my favourite carvery ever and all I’ve been wanting during lockdown, so obviously I had to be one of the first in when it reopened.They’ve made sure tables are adequately spaced out and hand sanitiser is available. The carvery is now not “help yourself” but they make sure you get exactly what you want, right from choosing which roast potatoes you want to where you want your peas placed on the plate.Food was excellent as usual. Booked in to go again this week.

We joined friends for our usual monthly meal out. Been in here a few times before the refurbishment but the food before was just OK. So did not really know what to expect. It was very busy but the staff still has time to chat. The four of us opted for the carvery which you had a good selection of meats and vegetables all fresh. The only trouble I was too full for a dessert. We definitely return again

We have been to the Swan a number of times in recent weeks. Each time we have chosen the Carvery, and have not been disappointed. On one occasion we visited with a group, some of whom chose from the regular menu, and their meals looked just as good. I will be giving that a try on a future occasion.

Visited today for a family dinner, booked in last minute, and they managed to fit us in! Lovely carvery, and staff are all friendly. Only downfall is the draft from the main entrance door - could do with being looked at, as we've visited a few times now and had the same issue everytime. Gives quite a chill!

we visited here with friends who organised a meal. We’d never been before so we weren’t sure what to expect, let me tell you - we weren’t disappointed! It’s really lovely inside with beautiful wooden beams and it felt really cosy, with great lighting. It had that chalet feeling to it as though we were dining in a lodge in the alps. The carvery was fantastic! So much to choose from, lots on offer compared to other places we have visited. The meat was really succulent and cooked to perfection. The staff were really accommodating, and were happy to chat and didn’t want to rush us. They came to us a couple of times to check if everything was okay with our meal and to get us more drinks. Some places I’ve visited in the past seem to want to get you out so they can use the table but here we felt really comfortable and there was no pressure for us to hurry up, eat our food and leave. Will be recommending this place to friends and family!

Stopped by as passing for a spot of lunch. It was a lovely place and the decor was very pleasant. It seemed quite busy and there were quite a few 'reserved' signs on tables. We were offered the only remaining table by the bar but that was fine with us. The service was a little slow but as we were chatting it was fine.The food came out quite quickly and really was lovely, there were no complaints from any of our party in regards to the meal. Reasonable prices too so it was a lovely meal out all round.As we said though, if anything the service could have been a bit better but I sure it will be next time.

Recently had new owners, we ventured to the Swan following good reports. We were not disappointed by the quality of the foos or the quantity. Another winner we shall visit on a regular basis. Booking a table is advised.

Had a beaituful carvery, and was served by an extremly helpful and polite waitress although unforuantly didnt take her name, to get her the notice she should get. Food was very good and a good range of bitters available

We enjoyed an excellent Sunday carvery at the Swan, Upon Warren - highly recommend. The food was all cooked to perfection and the staff welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is fresh, clean and welcoming. Would also highly recommend booking as the place filled up very quickly.

The food, service and ambiance are excellent. You MUST book as it is always full, recommend to all for any occasion. Five stars

Having read the reviews I was really expecting this carvery to be really special but it definitely was only average. . The meats were ok although the gammon was quite tough vegetables very average especially the cauliflower cheese which was swimming in sauce with very little cauliflower and the dauphinoise potatoes were just a mush and everything could have been just a little hotter. At £16.90 for two courses certainly not value for money. The major thing that put me off was the amount of people standing on the doorsteps front and back smoking as if there was no tomorrow. However in its favour the staff were friendly pleasant and helpful

Lovely carvery. Good choice of meats and plenty of vegetables. All served hot. Staff very helpful. Good value.

Bit disappointed the more and more I go. Meat crumbly, no glaze on gammon just boiled fat. Stuffing dry and hard, same for the normally gorgeous dauphinois potatoes - lacked any sauce too them. Staff attentive at the start but then nothing after given your carvery tabs. The set up when you walk in from car park is out of sorts, and ideally needs a waiting area rather than walking straight in and just standing in the middle of the room. Maybe a one off when we attended for the 4th time Friday, but just seemed too be slipping slightly.

Early Thursday lunch, I thought should I? would i need to book? the answer most definately YES & its worth it, we opted for the Carvery 4 different meats and their must have been 8 veg to choose from. I must give a special mention to the Garlic potatoes just brilliant. The bar serves Estrella among others and my personal favorite Rattler Cider. Very friendly staff, nice enviroment, great food, Enough said smiles all round.

Pub has been closed for a couple of years and having been taken over a reopened recently I was really impressed with the service and choice on the menu when I went for my Dad's birthday. You can't go wrong with a carvery but main menu choices then seem to suffer. Fantastic choice and really tasty food. Service was also excellent, very friendly and helpful staff. Top rating well deserved, will definitely be going again but one piece of advice.... Make sure you book well in advance as they are extremely busy

Visited on a whim at lunch, but no tables available, however the gentleman did check and found us a table in the bar. My husband had the carvery which he thought was average. I had a baguette which was nice, but the fries weren't cooked very well.

I came today with 2 friends, we hadn't booked, but they squeezed us in. The food was excellent, both from the carvery (so my friend says) and from the menu. Staff were lovely, will definitely be going again.

Firstly a big thank you, we had a family emergency and had to change our booking at short notice and we were fitted in later in the day.

Excellent food at great prices ample parking and very good and friendly staff and good selection of beers .

Had another meal at the Swan earlier this evening. Food is so good here, home cooked just like you want it!

Excellent meal and service last night, great food 16oz Steak and the Mixed Grill, all food cooked to perfection and very tasty and our two waitresses were super attentive and courteous. Thank you, we will be back soon.

First visit. Not generally a carvery fan but this was excellent. Mega meat serving - well cooked and presented. Service very good. Suggest to book as busy for a Wednesday evening. In addition to restythere is a separate bar.

I have just come back from a very good lunch with a group of friends. This is the first time I have been here. I have driven past hundreds of times but nothing called me in. One of our group suggested we come here and it was all good.

The ambience and service is excellent: the food is well prepared (I particularly like the Carvery and the portions are of a reasonable size and does not not break the bank

A regular at their other pub, The Nailers Arms, thought we'd try here as it's much nearer. Wow, best carvery by far. Everything was piping hot, very reasonable price and lovely staff. It was packed, every table reserved, which speaks volumes. I wear hearing aids and found it extremely noisy,as is usual these days with no soft furnishings. The food more than made up for that inconvenience. Thank you, we all enjoyed our visit

excellent when i walked in and saw the xmas decorations i was very impressed it looked beautiful. I had visited a place two nights before no decorations no atmosphere. we popped in for a coffee but ended up having dinner. brilliant meal everyone enjoyed their food. staff were so nice and polite will definitely be going back soon

Had a table booked last night just a pre Christmas treat for hubby and son but we left feeling disappointed , The menu was a seasonal one which we didn’t realise would be and it was very limited indeed , it hadn’t got the mixed grill on or the fish and chips we wanted . We all had the carvery in the end . When we went up to carvery we had to wait 8 minutes before someone came out of the kitchen to serve us . My husband wasn’t given the meat he asked for and at one point another man came out of the kitchen and picked up a couple of Yorkshire puddings felt them and tossed them back onto existing pile of Yorkshire’s . Staff were good although on paying the bill at the bar the two who were behind bar had a mouthful of food each and couldn’t speak for a minute . All very well to enjoy the perks but do not do this in a public area . Phil we love the nailers but won’t come here again .

Called in here on the off chance as we had heard good reports. The place was buzzing when we arrived and all tables were booked. We were seated in the bar which was fine by us. The carvery is well presented with a good selection of meats and extensive selection of vegetables. The meat portion was generous and very tender. The vegetables were all well cooked but should have been a lot warmer. By the time I had nearly finished the meal was cold. It is very good value and we will certainly eat here again. Get the vegetables hotter and it will be five stars next time.

Four of us booked a table for the Sunday Carvery, well worth the money, excellent service, they had Turkey, Beef, Ham and Pork on plus really tasty veg especially the Roast potatoes and New potatoes, green beans and lots more, really friendly staff and well organised.

Phil & shu Youve both nailed :-) this place the food is amazing quality as always and the decor is just right. Great selection of vegetables if carvary is what you want. I would recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Staff are very friendly and the service is really good. Very good meat selection and they also cater for any dietary requirment. Been here a couple of times since it opened and I wasn’t disappointed m the food is fab and the staff are too nothing is too much trouble for them, a lovely atmosphere will definitely be going back very soon

We were really looking forward to our first visit as had heard the new owners were previously at The Nailers Bournheath where we had enjoyed many superb meals. However our experience today has left us very disappointed. Chose the carvery which was let down due to veg being cold, sprouts were bitter, parsnips looked sponge like and tasteless, roast potatoes not crispy & looked like they were a few hours old. And only very dark gravy on offer (my partner had roast turkey so would have preferred a lighter taste gravy). Gravy was piping hot - was this meant to warm up the veg? Maybe the hotplate needs attention. It's a shame as place looks lovely after the refurbishment and staff very hard working and attentive.

Staff lovely. Meat variety super and tender. Pub decorated beautifully very festive. BUT all veg cold! So disappointing as had heard super things about this place.

Great carvery for an early dinner with plenty of meat choices and excellent selection of vegetables which were fresh and tasty. Menu also available for wider choice along with veggie options. Our server was very helpful in making sure my wife had an allergy free meal. Finished off with some great desserts. Excellent choice of beer at the bar. Friendly attentive service, arrived hungry and left fully satisfied!

Lovely welcome at bar, clean and tidy, perfect table and brilliant food. Although our table wasn't ready we waited at the fully stocked bar and was shortly called to our table. Lovely friendly waitress and also the person carving the meats greeted us with a smile. Food was delicious and plenty of choice. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.

We thought we would give it a go ,as the people who run the nailers at Bournheath have taken over. It is just as good as the nailers. the carvery was first class and staff very friendly,would definitely go back again

The Wife and myself went for lunch on Thursday and it was excellent. I had the 16oz rump steak and i was the best Steak i have had in a long time. The Wife had Cod which was also very good. The Staff are very polite and friendly, service is very good. Two very happy customers and we are returning on 01/12/19 for a Carvery.

Arrived at 12 noon for lunch all tables had been booked out fully in restaurant so we got a table in the bar which was nice, had 3 small carvery s and 3 drinks£25 in total. Beautifully good food and plentiful lovely atmosphere and staff clean friendly and attentive, service was great and friendly, spotlessly clean, if you want to go on a Saturday or Sunday book ahead. We will be returning quite frequently I think! Well done to the chefs and staff

My teenage son and his friends went for a meal today and the service and food was exceptional, thank you for making them feel welcome and allowing 8 under 16’s to feel like young responsible adults.

Lovely place ..visited twice now and going to book a family meal ..The first visit had salmon 😍 next visit the carvery ...couldn't fault it...the atmosphere is brilliant. The staff are very helpful..nothing too much trouble. Loved it 😀😀

Stayed a the Bluemont hotel next door and used this pub. Friendly staff serving excellent hand pulled beer.

Poor service Cardboard roast potatoes. Vegetables tasteless in water. Cauliflower cheese looked like overcooked porridge. Afraid not at all impressed

We visited this recently opened carvery with a small group for lunch and couldn't fault it. It had everything a good carvery should - tasty choice of nicely cooked meats, good vegetables and all the trimmings - in a comfortable restaurant. We'll be back soon.

On a day of heavy rain and floods we decided to eat locally and reviews of the Swan were good. A phone call to book a table was answered by a helpful cheery lady. In spite of the dreadful weather the place was full on a Thursday lunchtime and we found out why when we ate our carvery meals. Great food, low prices and attentive friendly staff. We will certainly return soon.

The face lift given to these premises excellent. Very fresh looking, new upholstery, carpeting, furniture lighting giving the large space a very cosy atmosphere. The meals the four of us had were very good, ample in quantity and the quality could not be faulted.The waitress who was present when we arrived and took our orders was excellent. She was very efficient and helpful with her advice and information. The others I felt needed to give tables more attention, not group around the 'till. I would, however, recommend The Swan to others and will certainly visit again.

This was closed for sometime and we were very pleased to see the building had re-opened and now it is again a welcoming pub with lovely food.

VERY much improved since refurbishment and owners. The food was excellent, we were a table of 4 and all ordered something different and were all satisfied with the quality of the food, service and prices. Only downfall was it was very cold where we were sitting so David the area by the door from the car park as the door is in constant use. Recommend a visit if you haven’t been before and we will definitely go back again.

Met with friends for dinner and the first thing to say is THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD but! and sometimes there always is!

The swans carvery is tasty, meaty and the gravy is thick just as it should be. Please book a table so your not disappointed it's to good to miss

On a weekday lunch I went for a meal with a friend. They have refurbed the interior and made a good job, I like the booths at the back, and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Visited today for a carvery. The food was very good and plentiful, the surroundings clean and well decked out with friendly staff. £7.50 for a carvery is very good value and I would certainly recommend

We was so pleased to see this pub refurbished and opened as a Carvery, the food is fabulous and reasonably priced. The menu has so much variety, we really like the baguettes and jacket potatoes, they come with chips and salad too! The desserts are fab, never had a small portion size yet. We look forward to many more visits!

Visited as part of a group of 14 friends and had pre-booked. Various couples arrived separately and relatively quickly got shown to our table. Staff were friendly and joined in with some banter and generally had a laugh with us where appropriate, but they didn't let it detract from the excellent service throughout the night. Everyone reported that the food was good - some had starters and mains, others mains and desserts and the staff were really good at timing courses just right. The restaurant is large and airy and plenty of space between tables so at no point did we feel cramped or cramping any other guests. At the end of the night, most of us went into the bar and were welcomed by some of the locals and made to feel at home. Will return without doubt - an excellent night and this place deserves to be supported.

I would definitely recommend The Swan Inn. It is clean friendly and the food is excellent. Best carvery I have had. Very fresh and very tasty.

The Swan at Upton Warren had been closed for around three or four years before being taken on by (I understand) a couple who used to run the Nailers Arms near Bournheath which had a reputation as having the best carvery in the area.

Visited The Swan just after 2.00pm told immediately that couldn’t order off of the normal menu could only have bar snacks which wasn’t a problem.

As regular customers of the Nailers, which is a sister pub, we were keen to try this place out. Great menu but the carvery is the main star. The meal was excellent, my only disappointment being the roast potatoes which were hard and dry, maybe they had been out too long. I am sure this is not the usual case and we will certainly return.
