The Swan Holme in Lincoln

Booked for Mother’s Day lunch, the whole experience I would simply call it as: traumatizing! We go to Swan Holme (5-6 time a year) and enjoy it but mostly we go on Saturdays or Fridays, first time booking for the Mother’s day since the place is mostly good, however the Mother’s day service was way below good (I appreciate fact it is a busy day of the year, but if you don't have capacity to cope with the guests, than do not book tables do not take people)! Food we ordered (since main M.D menu mostly missing or wait for 2 hours for them to return on the menu, ridiculous answer) at the end had to order fish and chips as I dont eat meat (apart of fish) no tartar sauce only informed after the order arrived, would habe not ordered it otherwise, asked for some salt and pepper never received had to go and get it myself, but could not find it! Food overpriced, and definitely not worthy. My honest advice DO NOT BOOK for mother’s day or any other occasion!

Lovely pub and great food, although London prices. £20 for a roast dinner. Service not great. No smile and quite abrupt when ordering and paying. On arrival you have to wait a while to be seated, up to ten minutes even when you have booked a table. Wine glasses are always dirty. Wrong wine brought to our table, quickly poured without introducing the wine and allowing us to see the label or have a taste. No table water offered. Telephone constantly ringing very loud. Fish and chips is absolutely delicious! Beautiful setting on the lake. Very dog friendly! Except the Lillie’s on the tables… poisonous to dogs. Wasn’t allowed to use the £30 off £60 spend alongside the free dessert even though this is not written in terms and conditions, not a problem but waitress was rude about this and made us feel stupid. Potential to be one of the best pubs in Lincoln just in need of a little more customer service training.

Staff very helpful, two celiacs in our group and our server Abigail new all about this and was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.

Been several times now, and every time the food has been on point, all 3 of us have thoroughly enjoyed it. Dessert is also immense, I had a meringue that was literally the size of my face and it was lush. Highly recommend, we've been at Christmas too and the food was great then as well.

We had an amazing time at the Swanholme. Anya was great and couldn’t have been more helpful. Two of our party had allergies and both Anya and the kitchen handled them brilliantly! Food was exceptional as always, will be back again soon!

We had such a lovely afternoon, very much overstayed but we were kindly moved to a table in the bar. Food was terrific and special mention to our waitress who looked after us beautifully.

We have just a wonderful meal here. The waitress was so lovely and attentive, and all of our meals were excellent. We will definitely come again.

Lovely place, situated near a lake with some of the namesake swans to be seen on it. Well maintained inside with a carefully curated range of tables and seating arrangements to make it more adaptable. Pleasant waitstaff - our waitress, Naeve, was courteous and helpful - and excellent cuisine. We enjoyed the beef Sunday main, the turkey Sunday main, the signature burger and discovered Belgian fries. We were all very pleased with the food - and our plates were very nearly scraped clean - always a good sign! Portion size was about right - we had no room for pudding!!

£10.90 for 2 soft drinks & a cup of chips (about 10 chunky chips) outside in the cold. When I asked for a cushion to put on the cold metal seat I was told 'we only put cushions out in the Summer.' My question is 'why invite people to sit outside in February on cold metal seats without cushions?? The kind ladies at the next table gave us one of their blankets, so we each had a blanket to sit on. When I asked about extra blankets, you guessed it I was told 'we don't have any more.' We won't be back in a hurry Swanholme.

Quite probably the best pub Sunday lunch I've had for a long time. Good service from friendly staff too. It's not my nearest pub, but it's worth the trip.

Great early evening Sunday dinner at the Swan Holme. We all enjoyed our food which was beautifully cooked and presented. I tried the vegetarian wellington roast and it was excellent (and I'm not a vegetarian!) Thank you Annie for looking after us all.

Food was good but i wouldn't go again because of staff. If you want to charge a high rate for your food, then the service should have been better. Barmaid shouting who's next in my face, waitress storming up to the table and interrupts me mid sentence, to the food arriving that nearly hit me because he couldn't say good evening to get my attention first. Then, no one came back until we were nearly finished to check on us. On a plus side the food was nice, desserts on the expensive side. Our evening of 2 hours came out at £45 per person inc 2 drinks.

Signature burger was spot on. Fish and chips decent too. My partners chicken skewer was good but the salad portion a little on the small side. We avoided this pub for over 10 years due to repeated rude staff. I’m glad to say things have improved ten fold. Waitresses were very accommodating.

Waited nearly 50 mins for the sunday lunch it arrives at our table both my wife's and my roast beef was un cuttable and was totally inedible sent it back and was replaced with turkey and lo and behold the meat was spot on but the veg was stone cold again inedible ! In fairness we weren't charged for our meals,the staff are lovely but the kitchen staff need a seeious word with theirselves! Will not be returning

As always the pub was quite busy but we were quite quickly shown to our table, which was neat and tidy. The young lady waitress gave us menus and time to consider our choices. The food we ordered was pleasant and tasty, the portions not large but just ok. The beer, Doom Bar, was excellent, the service lovely and the bar staff well mannered. All together a good visit. We will return.

I had a lovely dinner with my friend. The fillet steak was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Really great evening. Will absolutely come back!

Lovely pub nice setting, the ale most of the time tastes and smells bad, the barmaids are very notchelont to customers. I would like to call this pub “My Local” as I live very nearby, but it does not cut it for me.

We went here just before Christmas. My daughter and her partner arranged this as a Christmas get-together. The menu was good with plenty to choose from. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the waitresses were very helpful and attentive. I certainly will use this place again

Can't review the food today. Stood for five minutes waiting to be seated. Only staff contact was someone saying excuse me because they wanted to walk past us. Shame no one could be bothered to acknowledge our presence. Never have enough staff rostered on. Given that they've got offers on for the new year, they should have more staff working.

We were very pleased with the Swan Holme as the venue for my dad’s wake, for which we were given use of a large and pleasant area and kept supplied with food and hot drinks. Thanks to Charlotte and the team for an easy, sympathetic and accommodating approach which made a difficult day work out better than we could have hoped for.

Visited again for New Years Eve , booked for the 3 course set menu meal and drinks....Wow! We arrived at around 7pm and it was already very busy with a great atmosphere. We were shown to our table which was nicely laid out, including a couple of expensive Christmas Crackers that I thought was a lovely touch and were told that we would get table service for drinks to save us having to go back and forward to the bar. All the staff were extremely busy looking after the guests, but nothing seemed to much trouble. I'd really like to give a huge mention to our waitress Emma who was very busy looking after a number of tables but was very polite and always had a smile on her face, she really helped to make it a very pleasurable evening. The food was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented, I had the 10oz Rib Eye steak done medium rare. All in all a fantastic New Years, so glad we chose to go well done to all the staff and talented chef's. The Swan Holme really have shown other places how this should be done

Had an amazing Pre-Christmas dinner with 12 people. Staff were lovely and the food was amazing.

Had a lovely Boxing Day meal with family served by the wonderful Leanne who made us feel very welcome and at ease, even when we had more complicated orders. Food was lovely, although sad that there were no crackers on the table this year.

Everything was just right, food was excellent and all the staff were very helpful,polite and friendly.

We visited today for our work meal, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding—I had the belly pork, which was served with creamy mash, fresh vegetables, and perfectly crispy crackling. Every element was cooked to perfection. The service was equally impressive—friendly, attentive, and efficient. We were so impressed that we’ve already decided to book again for next year!

Charlotte served me on Sunday, whilst being really busy she gave us outstanding service. Made sure all our needs were seen to in a timely manner. Nothing was a problem for her. Food was brilliant and will definitely be back!
