The Elite Fish & Chip Restaurant in Lincoln

The best fish I have ever tasted with gorgeous batter. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is of an excellent standard and is great value for money. Service was very quick and efficient. I definitely recommend this fish restaurant. I drive 20 miles to get there a couple of times every month such is the quality of Elite.

Couldn't give it max for atmosphere as only go in lunchtimes. Always good tasting food and good service.

On Saturday 1st march, I hosted a pre 70 th birthday celebration in the restaurant.They had set all the tables out beautifully, The staff got the 36 people seated ,very quickly.The wine, beers, were served the food came ,quickly cooked perfectly, a variety off everything,cod,haddock,scampi,with gluten free guests also.I can’t praise the staff enough.Came round and made sure everyone had what they needed.You made it the most memorable experience.A five star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️rating from everyone.Thank you so very much .We will be in too thank you personally.And we will be back again several off our guests had not tried the restaurant.But they will definitely be returning.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Elite Fish & Chip Company serves fresh, well-cooked seafood. I tried the salmon and cod, both were flavorful and perfectly crispy.

Elite Fish and Chips was one of the best restaurants we have eaten in. The service was great, very welcoming. The food was delicious, the fish wasn't greasy and the portion sizes were just right. This is the first time we have visited this restaurant and it definitely won't be the last. Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone, well worth a visit.

We are regulars to this restaurant and always have excellent service with delicious food This is our first visit since they refurbished the restaurant with new fryers. Due to this refurbishment they are able to offer a lot more choices for gluten free. This includes starters, mains including gluten free fish & chips, and good selection of desserts.

Staff are extremely helpful. Food arrived quickly, catered for children with what they requested, rather than the light bite options on the menu, although Childrens portions were extremely small, more toddler size. Attended due to gluten-free being available

Llévate a nuestro Air be&be. El lugar donde se consigue la comida para llevar es un pequeño paseo por un jardín para llegar a la parte trasera de las instalaciones. Delicioso y lo recomendaría.

The food and the service was excellent.Very friendly waiting staff.Portion size was very good value for money.There is a very good pudding list , i would definitely recommend saving some room for one .The restaurant was very clean,bright and airy. The only negative we had was when we asked a gentleman behind the counter if they had a bin to dispose of a cigarette end as there are no bins or wall ashtrays outside. He was quite rude and said no walk over to Starbucks they have some bins outside.

The fish here is normally top notch, but this time the batter tasted different, not sure if it was overcooked or not but it was very greasy and didn't taste as nice as it normally does.

Been coming here for years, started at the bailgate one and moved to Hykeham and been coming here especially on Christmas Eve for dinner, brought all the family! Such lovely staff and atmosphere!

Nothing 'Elite' about this. Years ago this was the go-to fish and chip restaurant. Greasy brown flacid chips... Fish that isn't particularly fresh. Fresh fish and golden chips should be the staple for a place like this... Expensive... Very expensive. Wouldn't mind if the food reflects the quality of the price paid... But it doesn't... But a long way. Won't use again. Very disappointed.

Lovely place to go to have nice fish n chips. Some of the servers could at least look like they enjoy what they are doing and be polite, especially on the takeaway area

I must have got a bad fry day. Got a regular cod to take out. Not a thick bit of fish at all, unsubstantial. Had a bit of aftertaste with it. Not as stunning as it used to be a few years ago with the original owners. Service was cheerful and fine. Loads of crunchy batter and not too greasy. I could have almost picked the fish up and ate it. Not the great taste as I remembered it, but as I have seen in other reviews the quality seems to vary on different occasions? Today was definitely not a fish day. Will not revisit.

We by fish and chips at Elite on a regular bases . We have been a customer for over ten years and the quality of their food has always been excellent.

Was given a gift voucher for the Elite Fish and Chip restaurant , so me and my husband went as a one off treat. Got there approximately 1pm , to find a packed restaurant , so full we were asked if we didn't mind waiting. We were happy to wait and within three minutes we were seated. We both went for one of the restaurant's specials , large haddock , chips , mushy peas , bread and butter and a pot of tea (we also asked for extra hot water). What a super meal it was - fish chunky , batter crisp , chips tasty , peas had just the right amount of mushyness. Bread was fresh and we got three cups of tea each out of the pot. Price was a touch over £20 each , but for not such big appetites , there are plenty of other smaller and cheaper options. Service was quick , with friendly and polite servers. Restaurant was clean and tidy , tables were being cleaned and re set constantly as customers had finished. Toilets fresh and clean. Will definitely be going back again to the Elite again.

THE best fish and chips anywhere and I've had 63 years of eating them. Why the local chippy can't produce the same is beyond me. Highly recommended.

We went here on a Friday afternoon, we ordered cod and haddock. My husband thought his cod tasted odd, probably because it was actually haddock. My haddock did not look or taste like haddock, if I had to guess I would say it was some kind of flat fish, it looked nothing like haddock and I didn't much like the taste. We couldn't even swap as my husband's had vinegar and ketchup on, which I hate! Very disappointing!

It's all about the homemade fishcakes. 😋

As someone from out of the area it's not clear that you have to order all cooked items as soon as you go in. Also overpriced for standard fish & chips. The large cod was more batter than fish.

Service was fine , food was terrible. Didn’t fancy fish and chips so opted for the poached salmon and jacket with salad . The potato was clearly microwaved and dry as anything and the salmon was the driest salmon I’ve ever eaten . Non of it was enjoyable at all .

This restaurant came highly recommended as a local favourite. Portion size was good and price was reasonable. The fish and chips were both perfectly crispy. Staff were lovely and we were served very quickly. The only minor complaint would be that if you ask for tap water, it comes in a tiny glass, that will certainly require you to ask for more, but maybe that's the point?

Very nice fish and chips - especially the fish as the chips were good but I have had better. Haddock was lovely though and not too greasy. Staff were friendly and helpful and the experience a positive one - I would go back if in the area again. Reasonable price when eating in restaurant.

We used the takeaway restaurant, accessible from St Paul's Lane, twice during our weekend in Lincoln. Although this is not hard to find, this is tucked out of the way and offers a quiet place to stop and eat alfresco. The nearby wooden dine benches they provided were clean and tidy. I believe we were lucky to catch them in a quiet period, so spaces were available on both occasions, but there is a park just round the corner with lots of seating. They have a great value light bites lunch deal, which was more than generous. This includes fish chips and sides. It is topped off with the fact these are the best fish and chips I've tasted in some time. Highly recommended.

Fairly reasonable prices and friendly staff. I had take away but the restaurant looked ok. I saw chicken on the menu and had to leave I don't think chickens are welcome here. Chips were good though.

Great fish n chip supper at The Elite restaurant. Great quality food and terrific service. We were a party of four and three of us had the standard size haddock and my wife had a children’s portion. There was so much fish I couldn’t finish mine. We will be back

Really nice here, food, staff and prices are excellent. I would strongly recommend the Elire fish and chip restaurant. Not so good today when we visited, the fish was very very greasy. Revisit today 21/02/2023 better today. The tomato sauce you get a very small amount come on Elite put the bottle a the table. Had another visit this Sunday 21/07/2024 fantastic excellent food and lovely staff.

My family and I just had an amazing fish and chip dinner here. We used the takeaway side and they do an amazing job. It is the best fish and chips I have ever had. Crunchy on the outside, tender and flaky inside. The staff is very friendly and we will be going back before we leave Lincoln!

Great place to eat and great food .well worth a vist .

We were in Lincoln for a concert at the castle. I'm a coeliac so no gluten and lactose intolerant so rather than chance not getting anything to eat in the venue we decided to eat in the city. We happened across this restaurant by chance with an EXTENSIVE GLUTEN FREE menu the like of which I have never seen in my 20 years of the diet. The venue was very pleasant, we ate upstairs, the staff were polite, calm and appeared to be a little too laid back. However their turnover of tables and warm welcome soon indicated how very good and efficient they all were. I had the regular gluten free cod with salad. I've never tasted such a wonderful, fresh and beautifully cooked piece of fish. The salad and chips were also good. My only regret was that I couldn't leave a tip because we were 'no cash' ready for the concert.

Only had takeaway from here. Order on entry and it's cooked whilst you wait. Nice staff. Food is great plenty of choice and do light bites if not to hungry. Also do ice cream!

The service level from the front of house was fantastic, during a busy evening with a huge queue in the take away side, the staff at the front of house were taking and dealing out orders flawlessly with a friendly and hospitable attitude without missing any order and making zero mistakes. The problem was the food itself. We spent nearly £80 on our order and my god was it bad. Has to be the greasiest products we’ve ever eaten. The fish, the onion rings, the scampi; we could not finish any of them because of how greasy they were. A decade ago, when we first got takeaway fish and chips from this place, we thought it was the best place ever. Sadly that’s no longer the case.

Excellent food and service portion sizes just right

Most of staff are very nice but for one very rude young woman, absolutely bad attitude , no respect for customers I don’t know if she knows how to speak politely, face like thunder and it’s actually put us off returning which is a shame as husband really likes the food , I don’t know if she’s management and a bit of power gone to her head or she’s very unhappy in her job , either way she really needs to check her attitude

This place use to be great now living off a reputation that isn't anywhere near to what it use to be.

Don’t ever eat in here, unless you want very very bad service and horrible food, severed by untrained ignorant teenagers, pretending to be staff.

Plates were smaller than the last time I went in to an Elite restaurant. Portion sizes also smaller. Ketchup and tartar sauce served in miniscule ramekins. As was sides of mushy peas and curry sauce. However I have amended this as we had a takeaway of the same meal and ate it outside on the tables and chairs provided. Great quality and portions were far better. Fish was nice and thick rather than thin with more batter than fish.

Dining with a large group, the service was friendly, helpful, informative & quick. Foods arrived within 25 mins, having 2 of the homemade fishcakes & chips was enough for me! The "WC" was clean, compact & facilitated well! 😁👌

The food was just awful, the batter was rock hard and the fish was very overcooked and I was unable to eat very much of it, the chips were ok. I complained at the till and I was told it was a new chef and that was it, I will never go back.

Enjoyed a great fish and chips, mushy peas and a glass of non alcoholic lager. Service was prompt and friendly, only downside is waiting to pay. I was waiting for a while on my own, it's only when others joined the queue that someone came to take our payment. Could do with a dedicated member of staff, or even better, ask for payment on delivery of food and drink.

Originally I'm from Whitby so tend not to eat Fish and Chips as much when I'm not on the coast as they're never quite as good, but this is definitely the best place in Lincoln for Fish & Chips. Never disappointed, its called Elite for a reason.
