This place has become a regular stop for us, whenever we're in town we love to pop in, especially on weekends, for some great entertainment. The girls behind the bar are friendly and a great laugh-Hannah and Ruby normally serve us with a smile. The food always comes out looking great with impressive portions for the price! Well worth a visit if you're in Lincoln.

Great place to call in for a pint but maybe not spend the entire evening. Almost out of the way location so it wasn't too busy when we visited. Nice staff and a good selection of drinks.

The true definition of a local friendly and atmospheric public house that I so miss now living in Australia. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and willing to share their personal experiences with customers. The history of the building speaks for itself from the outside, but the inside is even more impressive. I dare you not to transform yourself to the 13th century to wonder what it was like to live here as a ???.. Long may she reign as a local pub

Wandered in never having been before. Was empty but for a couple of regulars propping up the bar. Was welcomed and the place had a lovely cosy atmosphere. Good pint of Guiness.

Love this Pub its soooo warm, friendly and welcoming. Came as recommended by friends about the food and what food it is. If your looking for proper fill your tummy good food this is the place. Its also nice to see the landlady behind the bar (doesnt happen very often these days), She's even the chef too!!!

Great pub and excellent food!! Served by Hannah, we had such a fun evening listening to the band. All of our party commented on how good the cheesy chips were!

Great pub by the river. Popped in for lunch as it was advertised as dog friendly and certainly was. Lovely atmosphere and the food was very well priced, good portions and quality. A special mention to Ruby who was very attentive and obviously happy in her job, well done Ruby we will be back next time we’re in Lincoln.

This is a lovely pub on the river. Came for lunch and a beer great selection of larger and the bar staff were lovely. Ruby was particularly helpful and bubbly. Food was fantastic I had the bacon, brie, and cranberry ciabatta and it was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back for more.

Had a fantastic time here the pub quiz is amazing i go every month. Ruby behind the bar is great service with a smile can’t wait to go back.

Hannah our server was happy, cheerful and helpful. The Sunday roasts were incredible, lamb and beef with the best vegetables we've had in a while. Definitely recommend

Lovely little place to visit. Food was very tasty (witch house burger) I loved the slaw(home made) compliments to the chef/landlady (Amanda) Atmosphere was good. Staff very friendly and quick service. Would highly recommend. Amanda & Graham have done a great job taking over. Nice for them to take the time and come talk to the customers. I will be back

Amanda and the staff are fantastic. They are kind and consideret to the customers. The food is fantastic and the Sunday roasts are delicious. Amanda, Amy, Ann, Eleanor, Hannah and Ruby always makes the regulars and new customers feel welcome in the pub. Amanda's cooking is amazing and I always look forward to having a Sunday lunch there .

Even better than before now there is a new landlady (Amanda). Fantastic food, the fish and chips and steak pie were delicious. Great prices and a great atmosphere.

We went for Sunday dinner as a family and Amanda's food was real nice. Ruby's service was spot on. The cleaning standards are 10 out 10. Would recommend coming.

Great location on the river just away from the city centre. Didn’t eat , sat outside for a couple of beers. Staff were helpful, the facilities need a wizards touch. Stopped by for a pint while on a cycle ride from Woodhall Spa, decent beer and friendly staff, great location overlooking the Witham.

Now then. I can't fault the bar staff .... and perhaps I was very unlucky but visited the pub earlier this week at about 5pm. Goodness me! The patrons were certainly 'characters'. If they are typical clientele then this pub is to be avoided. It was like something out of the American Werewolf in London. If you're unfamiliar with the reference, they YouTube the scene in the Slaughtered Lamb.

Wonderful pub. Great characters and friendly faces. The highlight of this pub is the fantastic staff, the food cooked by Amanda was delicious. And the drinks served by Elenor and Hannah were perfect. Can’t praise it highly enough had a wonderful time in the beer garden.

Long wait for food. One lasagne burnt. Two lasagne barely warm. Bread burnt. Salad was just a handful of rocket placed on hot plate so immediately wilted. Food awful although Loaded chips were ok. Barmaid pleasant and helpful.

What an excellent place if you are in Lincoln visit. Great pub with atmosphere reasonable come for drinks but eat as well food great quality and well priced One of standouts was customer care as well especially by Ruby who went out way not only service but so polite and friendly. So if in Lincoln visit the Witch and Wadrobe you won’t be disappointed

Eleanor was amazing, did everything possible to make our time there as enjoyable as possible. It was only beaten by the fantastic food that Amanda cooked. Brilliant atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks.

We only went in for a drink, but were disappointed with the state of the inside. Old but not in a historic way. Which is a shame given the outside and location. There are much nicer pubs in Lincoln.

Unusualy for a Masons pub there did not seem to be any Management control and a great dependence of it being in a good position to attract customers. There was no Marston beer on tap, only one member of staff on duty who had to deal with serving drinks, taking food orders and waiting on table and dispite trying hard could not cope. Add to that there was only one clean wine glass and no gin glasses at all available it really was a bit of a joke. And don't expect a good meal, I am sure it is a local problem as I have been to excellent Marston pubs in Lincolnshire but this was bad.

Is a Marston's pub so you know what to expect from a selection perspective. That said, the pint of Pedigree I had was absolutely divine in terms of the temperature, pour and flavour so credit to the staff for getting the fundamentals spot on. Service was a bit slow but I could have just come in at a bad time. Staff very friendly and pleasant! Went in the beer garden at the rear but was confused if I could have gone out front and sat on the tables by the Witham as a sign said not to. I didn't try the food.

Had a coffee in The Witch And Wardrobe last week and was pleasantly surprised. I hasn't been in the pub for years. In another life The Witch was the opening act in many a night of alcohol fueled fun. My judgement was clouded by those nights all those years ago. Nowadays my kids are the same age as I was when I was tumbling to and from the bar. However, lunchtime on a Wednesday and the pub was welcoming, clean and tidy and very comfortable indeed. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our coffee before we headed off, all rested up. By the way, it was fantastic back in the day. It's just as good today though for totally different reasons.

Called in for a drink on the way to the theatre. I was served by Ruby, who was very chatty and made me feel very comfortable.

What a cracking, quirky pub! Was greeted by Gemma who kindly sorted out a table for us and took our drinks order. After making our food order, she explained that Ruby would be taking over as her shift was about to finish and to call her if we wanted anything, which we did. She was also attentive. The food and drink was very good and reasonably priced, especially the drinks. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly. Would definitely return.

Arrived with a group of mates to be greeted by Amanda. Very helpful and pleasant. Tables reserved and drinks got we sat down. Amanda then went from the bar to cook our dinner and was replaced by an equally very pleasant and helpful Hannah. Steak and ale pie was delicious. We then pondered desserts. Mentioned apple pie to Hannah who vanished off to the kitchen, and came back with the amazing news Amanda was going to make us apple crumble. What great service. Seven of us enjoyed this great service and very nice it was thanks.

Calls itself a village pub in the city centre and I thinks that is a very reasonable claim. Went there twice on a recent break and it was clearly frequented by locals on both occasions but they were friendly and welcoming as were the staff that served us. It’s certainly a no-frills pub with no gimmicks and none the worse for that. Would most definitely visit again if in Lincoln. Beer was good and there is a jukebox on which some great tunes were being banged out. Two very pleasant visits.

Looks like an "old man pub" from the outside. There are clearly regulars, but friendly to outsiders, child friendly during daytime too. Comfortable, great prices compared to Cosy Club/Botanist, a literal gem on Lincolns canalside.

Called in here for a couple of drinks I think it's a punk bar very friendly staff and locals . Nice bar . Right beside the river had my favorite drink neckoyl too

Wonderful little hole in the wall pub. I will be coming back as I think I found my favorite place now... and they were not serving food when I got here, so I am going to have to come back and try the food.

Popped in the Witch and Wardrobe for a drink, it is a lovely old building next to river in centre of Lincoln, ended up staying for nite to eat. Staff were lovely and friendly and next time we are down we will definitely visit again. ❤️

We popped in for a light lunch and was not disappointed, Lovely friendly atmosphere, Gemma the lady who served us was lovely and welcoming I had the loaded tortillas with pulled pork which was delicious and hubby had the steak sandwich which he said was 'very tasty' cooked by Tess :) I had a glass of pinot (was a good one) and hubby had his usual a glass of Inch's, shall def return

Fantastic place, great food and drink, I especially like the grazing boards. Dog friendly as well. Close to the town centre along the river. Staff are welcoming and accommodating. Very competitively priced and worth a visit whatever the occasion.
