Was visiting Buxton (staying at Queens Head) but someone recommended The Swan for its quiz (it is a great pub too). What a fantastic quiz-master - does not stand for cheats who google on their phones! Best version of Stand-up Bingo as well.

What a gem of a place! Friendly staff, no masks, good food, takes cash…! A proper community pub that serve well kept ales. Great food, reasonable prices! Every town needs a pub like this!

We enjoyed a drink in the quirky tartan room of this pub which seems popular with locals. From the red tartan carpet to the pipers, sporrans and prints and other paraphernalia, there is enough here to make any visiting Scot less homesick!

We recently stayed in Buxton for 4 days. This is a great pub. We visited a few times during our stay. The landlord, landlady and bar staff are doing a great job during these difficult times. We found the local people very friendly and had some good chats with them. They gave us some great tips on where to visit.

We went to The Stable Bar near Bakewell and it was a horrible experience so it was good to come here. Very welcoming and friendly staff that followed the covid guidelines.

Recently left the stables bar on one of the walks today and came here instead. Very friendly. Staff are spot on. Drinks are nice and fresh and at a good price. COVID guidelines followed and friendly with it to make sure everyone is safe and not rude at all about it. Nice to sit down and enjoy a drink after a long walk. No stress. Job done right. I'm staying down the road so I will be back.

Used to be a friendly pub with good beer and a good place to watch rugby as well as football. Storm beers gone. What's left are not kept particularly well. Landlord indifferent to customers and it's not a nice place to be anymore. Such a shame

A very good, friendly, traditional and old style pub that served everything we wanted! The staff were friendly too, which is always a bonus. We played games and drank and had a good laugh, I love the old style decor. A proper pub! Our only issue was that we missed the quiz night on Thursday.... that would have been fun!

Tuesday night is music night in the Swan. If you enjoy hearing good musicians jamming together it is a brilliant night. Even get tasty butties thrown in! Very friendly. This is an old fashioned public house and not a restaurant.

Yep 53 degrees probably plays to the US market and is great trendy bar. The Swan is a traditional not mucked about with English Pub. Although its not a restaurant! And by the way US beer is pretty poor.

As reported in other reviews, a very friendly chatty small pub. Oddly Scottish decor. Milk of Amnesia (Storm Brewing, Macclesfield) is I think the most delicious bitter I have ever tasted (I am an Aussie but have visited England many times). Buxton is also a very interesting town.

Great community run cafe, serving a range of food and drink. The food was fresh, but you do have to be prepared to wait for a while as they are often a bit short of staff.
