What a disappointment. The chips were clearly recooked from the lunch time batch. No where to complain other than taking them back, but we just had to bin 60% of it. Salad was stale, nuggets and chips burnt. Awful

Traditional fish and chip shop. Quality fish and generous portions of chips. I always drive out to their shop rather than go to more local ones. Ordered two medium cod but when I got home there were three portions in the box. Assuming I’d been given the wrong order I phoned them back. They said this was correct as sometimes the portions are on the small size and the extra portion made the order up to the correct weight. I’d never know any other chip shop to do this and it shows excellent customer service

Too tired to go out again after returning from holiday so we had ours delivered. I had a lovely battered sausage but my husband made a mistake of ordering the large portion so ended up with two huge cod fillets and an enormous portion of chips! All of it was excellent and great service as it was all piping hot. We highly recommend.

Ended up cooking dinner after no one would eat them! The chips were so hard and burnt, honestly the worst chips I’ve ever had! And the young lady that served us has a foul mouth (chatting behind the counter with colleagues constantly using the F word) very disappointed as wanted a night off from cooking!

The very best Fish and Chips I have ever had. Great staff, always smiling and friendly!! Great Shop very clean and come back every time we come to the UK from Texas.

I ordered Fish and Chips it was Excellent, I will be back next week. HAPPY STAFF. The food was still hot when I arrived home.

Last Saturday we ordered fish and chips and double sausage and chips. They were both beautiful, fresh and delicious, the helpings were more than generous. The accompanying tater sauce was also lovely. We will be returning soon for more first class food.

Last Wednesday we rang and ordered cod and chips and a separate cod. After arriving we opened our boxes to find a very deep fried cod which was inedible, overcooked chips and what we can only assume was a very well cooked breaded plaice. We rang the fish bar and the lady said she couldn’t do anything about it. We used to come here regularly a few years ago because the chips were to die for. I’m not sure if it’s under new ownership or the staff simply cannot fry and get orders correct. Will definitely not be back.

Watery gravy made in microwave peas heated up in microwave pie heated in microwave, chips rubbery very disappointed may have well gone to Morrison and warmed everything up ourselves in a microwave

Best chips I’ve had in ages, and the fish was very fresh and tasty, with very crispy batter. Mmmmmmm.

This chippy is our local and last night the fish and chips were awful. Cold chips and greasy undercooked batter on the cod. Even the curry sauce and mushy peas weren’t hot. Will not be going back again and very disappointed Gannyx

Best ever fish and chips. We stopped off by chance and were delighted with the quality of the fish which was perfectly cooked and more fish than batter! The chips were chips not the bits and pieces you receive elsewhere. If we didn’t live in Arundel West Sussex we would be regular customers. Thank you for restoring our faith in fish chips - you deserve to do well.

Had to visit Eastbourne to look at some flats, couldn’t resist a detour to get some of the best cod and chips available in East Sussex. Ok you always have a slight wait but that’s because everything is cooked fresh. Would have been 5 if decent bread rolls were available. Looking for an excuse to drive by that way again.

Great Quality, Tasty Fish and Chips, Reasonable Prices, Good Value, Eat In or Takeaway, Friendly Service, Lovely Staff. Highly Recommend ! There is also a Fish Restaurant next door, run by the same owners, if you fancy a full dining experience with several courses.

Absolutely delicious fish and chips. Lovely white flesh and lots of crispy chips. Most enjoyable and saved us going all the way into Eastbourne

We watched our fish flowered, battered and deep fried - it was great but the chips were small, poor quality and tasted reheated. Grouchy service never helps!

Looked on google to see where the nearest chip shop was and this one popped up, we got there just as they were about to close, the man in there didn’t moan at all and he freshly battered and cooked our food to order. It was the best we have had for a long time, it was really good. If I was visiting Eastbourne again then we would defiantly visit this chip shop again,

We are new to the area and tried this chippy a couple of weeks ago. They didnt have half the things we wanted but the food was ok.We returned again this evening and they ran out of pies, fish cakes and sausages so we ordered and paid for 2 cods and 2 chips. When we got home we had one cod and three chips!! Couldn't be bothered to mess around and go back and just shared the one cod but after 2 poor experiences we wont be going back. It's such a shame as the food is quite nice and at good prices but the service majorly let's it down.

Used to come here regularly.the quality and value was always very good.however lately we have visited a few times and have been appalled at the miniscule and mean portion sizes of the chips.a regular portion size barely provide enough for a chip butty.the prices aren't exactly cheap.i had a cod and so called large portion of chips.the fish was fine but again the chips were so scarce it ruined the meal.we have been using pevensey bay as a much fairer helping.this is extremely mean spirited and the few pennies they save will be trumped out by the loss of custom.a bad move I would say

Girls serving were terrific. The older fryer, supposed to be supporting them was hopeless. The chips were okay.

Not to bad but not the best fish no chips we had on our holiday fish was not cod as advertised but batter was crisp

We only popped in here as our train was cancelled and so glad we did. The fish and chips were lovely. We had the fish bites that came with chips. Very reasonable and really tasty.

The fish and chips are lovely. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is it's cash only and there isn't a cash machine in the area. Which as a previous small shop owner that took cards including American Express I just can't understand.

Visited my Uncle yesterday and he treated us to fish and chips from here. They were the best Chips I have ever had from a chip shop lovely chunky and very crispy !! Also the fish was lovely and tasty and batter nice and light. Cant wait to go again

Only fish and chip shop for miles, hence rather expensive for the size of portions. at times have to wait 10 minutes for items to be cooked, not enough trade to keep any thing other than chips cooked!

The chips were perfect, they were nice and chunky and not too crispy. They were soft in the middle but not too soft, and I could actually taste the salt and vinegar.

Really the tops for taste, range and value. Plus, the lad was so bad he made us all laugh. The portion size of one large fish and chips too big for hubby and I. The range of fish was extremely broad for a chippy

This place has without any doubt the best fish n chips in the locality. Everything is freshly cooked batter crisp and fresh.

We were staying at Fairfields Farm Campsite a few minutes walk from the chop shop.

We approached the fish shop and noticed that there were lots of people waiting, it was Friday night so we assumed people were waiting for their fish to cook. I decided to order pie and chips as I didn't fancy the wait, I could see my pie in the heater/display thing.

Very pleasant little local chippie near my in-laws... The chips are incredible (though their portion sizes are inconsistent... I couldn't tell the difference between the large and family size) and fish very delicious. Only issue was the slow service for a Friday and the young lads behind the till were pretty miserable. Some smiles go a long way! Aside from that, highly recommended.

Collected 2 cod/chips/mushy peas to take home tonight. Never experienced such rubbery chips which were inedible and were all thrown away. How can a fish and chip shop not know how to cook chips? The cod was small and tasteless. Will not use this takeaway again which makes me wonder what the next door fish restaurant is like now, as I believe this is co-owned.

We stayed at the local campsite and popped into Pevensey for a beer with our 6 year old and two toddlers. Stopped for fish and chips on the way back. For 5 of us we ordered 3 large cod and family chips and it was absolutely delicious! Fresh meaty cod, crispy chips and not overly greasy. Put our local chippy to shame. Wish we lived closer!

This is a real asset for the village and should be supported by locals. The problem is, that it is very average and they run out of items regularly which is a real shame.

I am not a regular customer but every time I go I know I am going to get good food, freshly cooked and well presented. What has been a pleasure is to see the same friendly faces ready to serve despite the rush. Prices are good, quantities generous, chips just right and mushy peas a delight. Thanks again guys.

Hand pealed and cut potatoes fried into really good crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle chips. Tasty battered fish and chicken burgers as well. What more do you want from a chippy? All for a very reasonable price. We will be back!

We used to get take away here many years ago whenever we were in the area as it was such good quality.

Great fish and chips served here. All cooked fresh to order. If you only eat small portions they offer an OAP size which is good value. Also try the fish bites. If you feel brave enough you could have a battered mars bar. You can eat it in for a little extra. Friendly and efficient staff.

Portions were good fish was lovely batter wasn't crispy buts that's my personal taste. The chip's tasted like they were reheated which was a shame otherwise I would have rated it higher.

Birthday meal for 4, a couple of drinks each and only £77!

We had a meal for all the family this evening. The Chips were crisp and chunky. The fish (Cod and Plaice) was succulent an very well cooked. The Children's meals (chicken nuggets) were very successful

Really traditional fish and chip shop. No fuss or gimmicks, good quality fresh fish hand cut chips all freshly cooked. What could be better.

Excellent freshly cooked fish and chips. The chunky cut chips were delicious, the fish was both huge and tasty with an excellent pea fritter. Delicious.

Lovely place lovely staff lovely food lovely wine that's it!!! Thank you we travel up from Eastbourne once in a while for lunch here, highly recommended

As our local chip shop we have had various takeouts from here. Some have been superb quality, others very poor. In more recent times it tends to be a bit 50/50. The good news is that the off times aren't awful, they're just not the great quality you can get at other times which can be very disapointing and lower it to a standard chippie. Fish size good, chips a little small perhaps. Wait can be very long at peak times and other times surprisingly quick. Serving staff friendly. Need to be more consistent and keep the 4/5 star times the norm.

I am not a fan of the huge chunky fries that so many people like .... but the fresh fish here made up for that. Lovely. Yum. But only take-out.

Enjoyed the tasty fare here on a couple of occasions occasions.Only take-away though. Friendly, quick service. The food is consistently hot and tasty but do ask to put your own salt and vinegar on as, depending on who serves you, you will either get too much or not enough. Check out their special meal deals and their good Pensioner offer.

We had an enjoyable evening meal. I cannot think of anything exceptional either positive or negative so it must have been ok.
