Went there excepting brilliant food as normal but No it was terrible fish full of oil and the chips looked and tasted like they where reheated sorry guys but thumbs down from me .

Drove ten minutes to come here on a friends recommendation and wasn't disappointed. Will definitely come back. I had the stack burger and it was lovely! Also ready for the exact time I requested. Staff were very friendly. Only request would be that you do milkshakes. That would be the cherry on top!

If it was possible to less than zero stars I would. 2 hours wait for food that still hasn't arrived. Restaurant has no idea where the driver is. Just eat app says food has already been delivered. Ringing the restaurant to be told they don't know where it is and where or if I'll get it. Save your money and time. You could save for a boat, learn to fish, take the boat out and catch them yourselves before you'll get your food here. If I could put zero stars I would.

Update: Great that they are now on Just-eat..... Just moved into the area from Essex and have already ordered a couple of times from here. The fish and chips are a million times better quality then we are use to. Hope to see them on Just-eat or Uber eats in the future.

Wonderful chips! Friendly service

Bit disappointing :( Spent £7.00 on large chips curry sauce and a coke, the chips were pretty small for a 'large' and over cooked. Once i got to work i found there was no salt and vinegar on them either :'( 1st world problems i know lol Curry sauce was decent but tiny compared to normal chippys. Service was good and happy staff but I wouldn't recommend or visit again I'm afraid.

The people who work here are absolutely lovely, and so is the food! I couldn't recommend a lovely lunch, dinner (or breakfast if you like!) more!

I cant believe the couple of reviews below, we have always got our fish and chips from here, my son when he visits always requests f&c from Willows. Totally not greasy at all, nice crunchy batter and chips I haven't tried anything else as i just want f&c, staff friendly, ok you have to be mindful it will get busy at peak times but we order ahead, the curry sauce is good

Decided to try their fish and chips out while charging our electric car at the village hall. We liked the food so much that we came back the following week.!

2022 June 18th update. Still brilliant! Still great staff and fab food. Lovely food, wonderful friendly staff and good prices. What's not to like? Been buying from them since their launch and am definitely a 'regular"!

Very small cod with thick batter and lots of chips served in a plastic box. This for £10.40! I suppose they rely on passing tourists who will not be returning. Why will businesses not serve good quality simple food, at a reasonable price and with environmentally friendly packaging. Local customers would then return regularly

Bought sausage and chips twice and a portion of chips £14 . Just a regular size portion of chips. Didn’t wait more than 5 minutes. Got home 3 minutes away food cold and small chip portion. Overpriced and disappointing. Lots of friendly.staff .

January 2022 - 1 star review: Until this evening I would have said Willows serves some of the best fish and chips we've ever had. Moist fish, crispy chips. Expensive, yes, but worth it. Tonight, however, it was the worst ever. Overcooked, dry as a bone, and far too much batter. The chips were soggy and tasteless. Inedible. Worst of all, when we rang to complain the person denied the fish and chips had been lying around in the heating cabinet and insisted they were freshly cooked. He should have been honest, and been apologetic. They are not cheap, by any means, and the reality is the food was awful and went straight in the bin. Update: Thank you for taking the time to respond. Yes, that was offered to us. However, we do not live in the village itself, so going out in the car again would simply have taken too much time. I'm sure you take the point that it shouldn't have been necessary in the first place. Such deplorable quality food should never have been allowed to be sold to a customer. Updated review March 2022 - 3 stars. We went back to Willows and this time did not order beforehand, but simply went there to make sure it was freshly cooked this time - which it was. The chips were back to normal, crispy and tasty, but although the fish itself was better, the batter was still much thicker than before, just like many other (cheaper) fish & chip shop. Real shame.

I really don't know why the owners of this business leave the young staff in charge on a busy Friday evening. I witnessed a gentleman leaving after complaining some weeks ago that his order was not correct after waiting ages for his food. This evening I telephoned to order at 7..15 and was told I could collect at 7..50. The shop was crowded when I arrived at 7.50 and after paying I waited outside. in the cold for a further 20 minutes before going in and receiving a refund for my order. When customers are placing food orders it would be helpful if they were given honest information as to when their food will be ready for collection.

Ordered fish and chips, arrived just before agreed time to ensure payment on time. Served as soon as home; 1 minute drive. Fish tasty and hot, chips only luke warm and not the best.

The willows cod and chips was lovely again tonight, with the very tasty mushy peas and curry sauce, is excellent after working all day to help overcome the pangs of hunger staff always friendly and helpful, looking forward to my next visit and lovely cod and chips

Whilst the fish and chips are excellent, I purchased 2 pots of Heinz tomato ketchup that were on the counter for 60p each. It was dark and there was a long queue. So I didn't check the date. When I got home and looked at the dates, The promotion dates were 23.8.2020. BBD was 23.6.2021. my purchase date was 15.1.2022. 7 months past their best before. My other concern is what else would be out of date that you can't check

We were staying on a holiday let nearby and having used this place before decided to have a take away. Service was friendly and food cooked to order. We had cod and chips and fish cakes, all perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. Excellent food at reasonable prices, can't ask for much more Would definitely use agin when next in the area.

Ok food service was ok but wait time was ridiculous they said be here at 6pm it will be ready I walked out at 6.30 by the time I got home the food was nearly cold bar the stuff they hadn't cooked untill after I turned up never again

This is our favourite local fish & chip shop - even though it's over half an hour from us! The menu is imaginative for a traditional fish and chip shop and the quality of the cooked food is really good, especially the chips which are always crisp. Highly recommended.

Best Halloumi cheese burger! It was a friend's recommendation that we three friends tried this.. And we weren't disappointed at all, great chunky chips too (I don't 'do skinny' anything..) 😂. The owner is very welcoming and the staff equally so. I particularly liked the way the young lady read back to us our order for us to confirm, really does instil confidence, that it's going to be right. As Arnie says "I'll be back" 😁👍. Thanks to all.

Easy ordering, and still the most delicious chips I've tasted!

Fantastic quality all round - we tried the cod, the haddock, the battered sausage, the saveloy, the scampi, the chips, the curry sauce and the home made fish cakes on a trip to see family in East Sussex and it was all top quality. On top of that the staff were all lovely! Highly recommended.

Rang and ordered fish and chips today for a late lunch. Spot on! Tasty and good size portion. The best thing is no skin on the fish, so you can scoff the lot. Helpful friendly staff and really pleased to find them open mid afternoon on a Friday when other takeaways are closed. I am a fish and chip aficionado so would only recommend somewhere that meets my exacting standards, Willows hits the mark.

Food was very good, staff efficient and polite. And social distancing well catered for. Will be going again.

The best fish and chips I can remember ever having! Tasty fish and the chips were not soggy or greasy - yummy!!!

Amazing food and service! I was told it was good and it hasn't disappointed. The chips are crispy and not greasy at all and the fish was perfectly cooked and the batter crisp and light. We will be back next week...and every week after that! What a gem of a find. Thank you. 10/10

The best chips I have ever tasted

We popped in for a quick takeaway on a Friday Eve. Spoilt for choice with a varied selection of Fish, Pies, Homemade fishcakes, Burgers etc. We decided to go with the Homemade fishcakes, cod and chips. Absolutely delicious, all cooked fresh and hot. The owner Gary was so friendly and passionate about the quality of the food he sold. Definitely the best chippy around. Try him, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Went into Willows today and mate you will not get better Fish & Chips anywhere else Had Haddock & chips, the fish was well cooked, still moist and the batter thin & crispy, the chips were dry and crunchy and lovely and soft in the middle Brilliant food, well done

Perfectly cooked every time. Superb fresh Haddock and chips that are crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Much more than fish & chips here! Note that they are unable to accept card payments at this time.

Superb food, very friendly service, pleasant atmosphere... Has brand new state of the art friers so not oily at all as hardly any used... I recommend the willow stack and the chicken Bites, could honestly keep on and on with recommendations as everything we have tried has been pucca... The whole family really like the food from here and look forward to enjoying a lovely takeaway...
