The Super Mare Hungry Horse in North Somerset

This is a regular stop for breakfast for Plymouth Argyle coaches to stop at on the way to away matches. Today the breakfast was mediocre to poor. It was luke warm at best with every component either over done or under cooked. I'll probably give it a miss next time.

Very poor roast carrots and green beans where shrivelled and potato was mush very watery but apart from that service was quick

Staff were nice and the pub was clean. Had the roast beef and what a massive disappointment it was. It genuinely tasted like a microwave meal roast dinner. The peas were like bullets, the carrots were also rock hard. They don’t even clear your plates away. Really really regret choosing this place to eat

We are regular local visitors to the pub with our family and always have great meals and are well looked after by Jo and Andrea and all the staff here. The food and drinks are so reasonably priced compared to other pubs in the area. I can honestly say it's great value. We always come for the festive menu as well which is always delicious and again such good value for money. Additionally parking is easy and plenty of spaces and there is alsp a nice play area for the younger kids and a seating area out the back of the pub.

We booked a table just in case being friday start of bank holiday weekend. Needed a stop off as we were travelling. We're alway happy with a hungry horse. Place is clean and tidy. Good quick hot food, good service if we're in the area again we will be coming back.

Terrible experience, Lager tasted off so bar staff tipped it into another glass! Eventually changed it for another but reluctantly so. Went to bar just to get a drink and told we had to wait in the queue for people ordering food, took ages to get a drink. The meals were cold, Medium steak was burnt, you could put your hand on the skillet! They did not have the Chicken Parmigiano so my wife ordered the Chicken new yorker, very cold, no cheese on it and no coleslaw. Left most of it as so bad. It is cheap but will not be back. Awful food how can you get chips so wrong!! Web site suggests just going for a drink but with the ridiculous long wait while you wait for people to order food with 2 bar staff serving one person you would not want to. They were not busy so that is not an excuse. Ladies toilet was disgusting.

Always welcoming, great service and good food at a reasonable price. Any issues are always dealt with and with very little fuss. Keep up the good work Team Super Mare and see you again soon!

Always popular, great friendly pub with dog friendly area. Prices very reasonable with large selection of choice. Food comes out piping hot freshly cooked with a short wait.

Awful experience! Rude and sarcastic staff. Also heard them being rude to a neighboring couple. Food was not very hot. We won't be returning

There were 4 of us eating Sunday lunch today. It was Father's day. I came with my Husband, Father in Law & daughter. The Dad's were given a free drink at the bar which I thought was a lovely gesture. We all enjoyed our meals. Two people went for a Roast Beef dinner. One had the Chicken Tikka & I ate the vegetable lasagne with salad & garlic bread. It was delicious. Plus I had the new iced donut pudding with strawberries, cream & ice cream. It was delicious 😋 The waiting staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I only have one negative thing to say and that is all the tables could do with sanding down and revarnishing. Though we have found this to be the case at all Hungry Horse restaurants. Maybe they're supposed to be like that? Who knows? This will not deter us from eating here.

Ate here for the first time and it didn’t disappoint. Would highly recommend to anyone. Came here with my sister and partner and they both enjoyed there food too. Would definitely come here again when in the area.

A quick pit stop for food on the way home. Pub was busy but waitress showed us a table. Great menu,lots to choose from and all a very reasonable price. Didn't wait long for food. Had the best time ever! Hosted a babyshower here, and my nan started chocking on something, and Joanne one of the managers came forward and helped her. She successfully performed a Heimlich maneuver and we continue a lovely enjoyable baby shower. So thank you so much! I really appreciate it!

Cannot recommend the super mare enough. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and food is awesome. We are regulars here for simply the reason we are made to feel at home.

Nice ambience, friendly staff and well priced food. Always a good vegan meal for me , I had lasagne . Love that there are always offers on and the coffee is good. Bonus that Clubcard Vouchers are accepted too.

Ella served us. She was so polite lovely and friendly and very helpful. You should be proud of staff like her. She made sure everything was good for us. And made me a great coffee. Came in for a mixed grille and a drink with a mate. Food was also really nice and cooked just right. We had the sharer starter which was really good. I love nachos but not a fan of the puffed ones you serve now. But that’s a personal preference and although I don’t like them nothing wrong with them. Maybe you could have an option for the original ones like the crisp type. Otherwise a nice meal out. Thanks again

Wow! Meet with friends here once a month and have a meal. Food is amazing. I had the supersize Thursday deal, ordered Jerk Chicken meal and it was lovely! Perfectly cooked! I also had the chocolate torte for dessert which was delicious! It's such a friendly and welcoming place. As a female, I wouldn't hesitate to go there on my own. I know that I would feel safe and at home. Thank you Super Mare, you are the best!!

Dirty unwelcoming, avoid at all costs you will get a better meal at a motorway service station. The staff are rude they avoid eye contact and certainly have not taken any health and safety training

I popped in with my partner, no booking but were kindly seated to a nice booth by the bar and it was quite busy as you'd expect at dinner time. We went for their 2 pub classics for £11.99. Seemed too good to be true at that price but it wasn't, we both had fish and chips and it was fresh and delicious. Very warm and inviting atmosphere, nice staff and very affordable. We spent around £20 all in with our drinks, cheaper than the chip shop and a nice evening out. Will go again.

So we travel with the senior greens a group of plymouth argyle fans, if we can we always stop here on away trips, the staff are lovely and friendly, if we only have one coach then they put us in the far side, but when we have two coaches we have the whole place, the breakfasts are plated up, brought out 3 at a time, i dont like beans so when i arrive i always ask for no beans and they are happy to do it, the place is clean and set out well, the only thing i would say is when we got our breakfast the sausages could have done with a bit more time in the oven, as when i cut it, it didnt look cooked but this is the first time we have ever left food,

The legal age to drink in a pub is 16 with a meal and parent consent. I was there today and a member of staff took away a drink from my sister in the middle of her meal but she was 16 and had parent consent ID was shown but they still took it away. they said its was there policy and displayed on their website when we did not touch the website and we ordered at the bar but no policy was displayed anywhere in the restaurant. No refund was taken. Barman did not ask for ID either

Nothing to dislike if you appreciate modern pub environment with great value for money. Warm welcome by the staff on arrival, traditional pub grub at excellent prices and tvs and machines in abundance (but not in an intrusive way). Would visit again if in this area

Go to the Super Mare every Thursday for the pub quiz and it’s the best part of our week! Staff really friendly and always good food. Super disappointed that the quiz has been cancelled for January though please bring it back!!

Really disorganised and bar staff seemed clueless. 2 tills but an imaginary line apparently. Gave up and went to th summerhouse which is a far better pub with better quality
