This lovely small pub is located at the 441 of Bethnal Green Rd, London E20AN The Sun Tavern is a cosy and very intimate place where you'll gonna enjoy your staying, especially during the evening when you will be delighted by the candle light. To the best of my experience is one of the pub with the greatest with whiskeys selection. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Prices are in accordance to what you will choose to have, if you're in for a treat you could end up by paying 30 pounds for a double Bushmills 21 Years Old, so choose wisely! The prices for a beer or a Jameson are absolutely in line with other places around here. They accept only cards. Still an amazing place!

Best drinking establishment in Bethnal Green. Drinks are amazing, as are the staff, and the atmosphere is welcoming and fun. I wish however the stools at the bar were higher / at adult hight.

Not a bad place. Oddly the menu cocktails were good but the "suggest a cocktail for me" off-menu drinks from the bartender tonight were lacking. Service was great, drinks were pretty good.

My favourite bar in London. Great staff, excellent drinks, good value and a nice atmosphere. Sarah looked after my friend and I last night and was so attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.

Wooooooooooow 😳 I haven't seen or experienced such a cool and stylish bar in a long time 👍 you can hardly describe the feeling 🙌 it's just like a little journey back in time 😃 and then you definitely have to try the Irish coffee, it's awesome 🤩

Very lovely bar with delicious small plates! I booked a table for my birthday just a week before and it was a perfect evening. Perfect service, very caring without being overbearing. The music was great too, the only thing missing is a small dance floor!

Called in here on the off chance as we were in the area and my friend is from Bethnal Green and remembered the place from years gone by. We were very warmly welcomed by a lovely Irish guy and enjoyed a well pulled pint of London Black and a vodka. We were joined by a couple of long time locals who were also friendly and chatty. Nice place, a good feeling about it and we'll come back soon. Give it a try

One of the few places making beautiful and traditional Irish coffe in the area. They sometimes offer live music and the service is super friendly. Great selection of Irish whiskeys!!! Recommended

10 out of 10 on atmosphere, loved the rustic look and the lights. The staff is really friendly, polite and helped my friend with all her weird requests. We didn't have any food, but they have some inviting stuff on the menu that we will surely try next time. Only negatives, the main door was kept open all the time (mid february) and they gave us the table right next to it and i had to keep my puffa on all the time. i don't want to keep my jacket on on a night out. Also, i wish there was a better selection of alcohol free beers as the only one they had was very weird tasting.

Only went their for a drink but did see some food plates coming around that looked delicious. There is a live band every now and then.

Quality quality pub. Great vibes and not anymore pricier than nearby (mainly because everywhere else is more expensive but there you guys!). Check it out if you haven't done so already. You won't be disappointed.

I hadn't been in The sun for a long time. When it first opened I found the staff dissmissive and i felt really uncomfortable, but I'm so glad I gave it another go. Everyone was friendly, cocktails were amazing. I will definitely be back and I'm sorry I made a judgement after only one visit!

We only had drinks but the cocktails really impressed the ladies and the beer selection was on point in my opinion. Would highly recommend this bar.

Good cocktails, great decor and crowd - 2 stars comes from the bar staff. The blonde bartender had a really unpleasant attitude purely because we changed our drink order. Amazing how quickly poor treatment kills your interest in returning somewhere.

Great pub near the tube station with plenty of unique beers in draught, delicious cocktails and quality food. Live bands also play there on the Saturdays I visited. Highly recommended

Sister venue to Discount Suit Company, The Sun Tavern is a great date night location, with a relaxed atmosphere (despite being just a couple of minutes walk from bustling Bethnal Green). Sophisticated cocktails and simple but tasty bar snacks. My partner wasn't too keen on his choice of drink and the bartender kindly offered to exchange it for something more to his taste, for free. If you're in the mood for a beer, the hefty glass tankards are a nice touch. The Tavern is quite small, so make it your first (or last) stop of the evening, to avoid the crowds.

The sun tavern is the best bar in Bethnal green. I've been going to this bar for years and it's a totally unique atmosphere. Words can't describe how amazing this bar is. You have to experience it for yourself. The staff are always friendly, they're so attentive. You can ask questions, they don't get annoyed or frustrated with you. It gets really busy so if you want a seat get there before 7pm, otherwise you'll struggle to get a seat 🙂

Hard to make an impact on an already well reviewed bar. Would just say be careful as my double vodka coke was coke only ratified by a randomer at the bar! For £10 I can't let that go. To be fair, they replaced my drink and it did taste like a double on the replacement.

Cosy and intimate bar in Bethnal Green. It's not very big but it goes quite far down, more than first appears when you walk in. The lighting is low and warm which adds to the cosy feeling you get here. The staff here are always very friendly and helpful. It's a sister bar of Discount Suit Company, both are equally great bars and two of my favourites. Listen out for the 'music' in the toilets...

A place where they want you to notice the music, ‘cause it’s good! Stripped back decor, heavy-handled beer mugs, laid-back cool. If they keep the place afloat selling the odd £100 shot of poitin to the tourists, no problem. Keeps it going for the rest of us #15 #45

Had an awesome day tasting poitins, whiskey and beer. World class spirits selection. A must stop for anyone Irish or interested in Irish spirits. Cannot speak highly enough of barman Zak who took great care of us, highly attentive, knows his stuff, went over and above and was great company, dude is a legend. Look after him Sun Tavern.

We enjoyed a Sunday evening cocktail here; I particularly recommend the Bonnie Margarita made with scotch bonnet chillies if you like your drink with a kick! Also a good range of local beers and an incredible range of Irish Whiskeys which we will definitely try next time. Bar staff were friendly & knowledgeable and it was a warm and friendly place.

Great bar with lovely, welcoming staff and incredible cocktails (in fact watching the bartender work was rather mesmerising). I've been a couple of times and will come back to this gem when I can!

We headed to this pub after a long shift at work. The Sun has a great team, a brilliant range of guest beers and wines, and a really good space with areas you can reserve very easily. We were all very impressed by them and will definitely be back, this place is 100% one of the pubs to hit while in East London. Cheers guys!

The pub looks unprepossessing from outside. You might even think it was closed down from a distance. Inside its chic and cosy. Excellent draught beers and a huge list of Irish Whiskeys. Low key but efficient and friendly staff. As a bonus, two guys sat themselves in the corner and played darn good Gypsy jazz. Top notch

Underwhelming and overpriced. Visited briefly with friends. At around £5.80 a pint made it more expensive than the West End with less to offer.

Any pub that has a bar seat with a window opening to the side street gets a thumbs up. Good beer, really nice 'darkish' atmosphere with the semi-closed blinds makes this a great choice any time of day. Somehow never too busy either!

A very interesting trendy/hipster bar. Dark and atmospheric with a very interesting selection of cocktails including incredible looking sharing punch bowls. Also has about five local craft beers.

This bar is popular, why? Almost every aspect of what they offer has been considered. Their offering of drinks from cocktails,to beer, to whiskey is unique, notice the “e” in whiskey. The lighting great. The music, old school rock n’ roll often with a DJ who is undeniably passionate twirling the songs that will twirl endlessly long after you or me are gone, if no dj a bar tender will be controlling the speakers who is equally susceptible to recommendations. The staff are hospitable and welcome a chat, but know you are dealing with a place that has integrity which is a rare commodity. Reading through other reviews the complaints of it being busy are nonsense, if you want a quiet bar go to bad one, to me, this is perfect and justifiably buzzing.

Nestled at the end of Bethnal Green Rd, this petite bar is a cosy hideaway filled with wonderful cocktails, whiskey and craft beers. Close to the tube, it's the perfect place to meet friends before or after dinner.

Pasó por aquí un par de liveners antes de salir para el almuerzo. Mi cóctel negroni - era - un preparado perfectamente. Tan bueno que tenia otra. Parece que este lugar es ideal para cócteles y cerveza.
