Best and most authentic place and food I've had in a very very long time their shawarma tops all hands down and i go there on the regular and the owner is just a delight

Food was extremely bland. The chicken shawarma had absolutely no flavour and was very greasy

I had the lamb shawarma which was pretty good overall. But the server was rude, dismissive and seemed to have a chip on his shoulder, especially if asked for any deviation - even a piece of lemon to be added to the order.

WONDERFUL food, incredible flavors and authenticity. Fun, relaxed dine-in experience. Owner and staff were super friendly, welcoming, and generous.

The staff was kind and answered my questions thoroughly. Falafel halloimi warp was delicious. I want to eat it again.

Moutaz is always a vibe! The nicest guy in East London. This food establishment epitomises everything I love about East London and Brick Lane. Colourful, characters, community and culture. I regularly come here for lunch and always feel welcomed and at home.

The worker claimed to be the owner and the owner claimed to be a worker. Asked us three times on our order. And still messed up our order. Didn't want to give us any salad but threw away two box meals in the bin since it was incorrect. Service left us with a bitter taste in our mouths. Shameful excuse of a restaurant owner.

I ordered the Syrian special with lamb for £14, but I was charged £9 and received it with mixed chicken instead. The meat lacked seasoning, and the only sauce I could taste was chili, with no garlic flavor. It definitely needs improvement.

I am at Damascus Bite now. The ever friendly brother Aiman made my lamb Shawarma and it tasted great! Parves, the other friendly brother from Sylhet, Bangladesh , makes a great Shawarma too. Damascus Bite is a great place!

I asked the waiter if the falafels were homemade. He just told me to try them and tell him if they weren't the best falafels I've had. They were. The falafels and other dishes are topped with a dried berry from Syria and Iraq that gives it a bitter flavor that enhances the dish. On the lamb shawarma, it gave a new level of flavor contrasts.

It looks absolutely nothing from the outside and looks like a German kebab shop. Would never have gone in if it hadn't been raining and it was in the immediate vicinity. But then we were pleasantly surprised: authentic, good food, crisp salad, everything fresh and extremely inexpensive for London! The operator/service makes a very serious impression. Absolutely recommended 👍

I implore you to not go to this place if you’re after good hot food or decent portions as you will not get either at this place. The customer service was just diabolical after service me cold food they told me that it was because I mixed it when I hadn’t. It’s a shame because I root for shops like Damascus but they have forgotten about service and food standards.

The food is reliably great. Service can be a bit slow, but it’s worth it. Friendly staff, too.

This shop is a classic I always come here for a wrap it's very filling they will always try to take care of you service is very quick the shop is decent in size they are so welcoming and kind trust me this will always be my go to place from now on for wraps they are the best.

Damascus is wonderful little restaurant in the Brickyard district. The staff is warm and friendly. Most customers are locals and native speakers confirmimg the popularity. The lamb shawarma wrap was a burst of flavor with a wonderful sauce, crisp veg, and tasty lamb. It will drip, so please be careful. It was press grilled to crispy perfection.

Yummy food.. you should try the Syrian style shawarma.. very nice staff and reasonable prices.

Service is top quality - boss gave us free big salad with our hummus and free sweets with our tea. Portions were massive and full of flavour. £30pp 3 courses + drink.

Food is ok, not enough flavour, big portions. Seating is cramped.

Amazing food at great prices. The service and establishment are definitely "no frills" but the price and the food definitely more than make up for that. No alcohol can be consumed on the premises.

Their service is usually a bit slow but last time I was there I had to wait an hour for 2 shish kebabs in an empty restaurant they’re not busy at all at that time. The food is okay nothing special in my opinion. And there isn’t that much atmosphere to talk about. What saves them from getting 2 stars is that the guy behind the counter was very nice he offered me a taster from a cookie they had on that day and also gave me some to take home for free. Still that doesn’t justify the extremely long wait I had to endure. He blamed it on the grill. Well if the grill is old and barely working buy a new one it’ll make double maybe triple the price you paid for it very quickly as the restaurant will be full of people instead of being always empty as it is now.

Falafel platter is great, Freshly fried. Not so impressed with the merguez. Decorations normal feels a bit dirty, service not so great either

We were hungry when we arrived....Best falafel we have had in the UK, washed down with a pot of good mint tea. What a delight! Lovely atmosphere, with friendly team. Thank you for a delicious late lunch. We will be back

Tiny place nearly on the end of Brick Lane with great food. We had some complementary om ali which was really nice. Service isn't anything special but I prefer it that way!

We walked in to Damascus Bite after a short cold stroll around Brick Lane. Have to say I was impressed at how tasty the shawarma was, proper authentic Syrian style shawarma. I tried a mixed shawarma and both the chicken & lamb tasted amazing. The chips were seasoned with a unique Arabic spice blend. The pickles tasted home made, didn’t taste like the store bought jar ones. The tahini sauce it was served with was really nice, sesame tasting and mixed with possibly yogurt or mayo. To top it off, they offered free sweets at the end which was nice. The service was good considering the price and we were served with smiles. Overall a very nice dining experience, will be back to try some more of their dishes.

The test is good but could be better, price is quite expensive comparing to what I paid for precisely the same order in other Syria restaurant in London(at least 5 pounds higher here), the atmosphere is acceptable but not that good. However the staff was so kind and helpful.

At the ER with severe food poisoning. Determined it was their rice since that’s the only food that I ate and my family did not. (Luckily I was the only one to get sick.) Poor food storage. So. Much. Pain.

Our group of 6 called in here for a quick lunch after a busy morning sightseeing in London. We ordered a variety of wraps which were all very tasty. But that wasn’t the end of it - we were treated to complimentary pickles, rice and finally the most delicious baclava-type sweets ….and then some more of them to take away with us! Charming service, excellent value and highly recommended if you’re in the area.

The shawarma is alright, won’t find something similar in the area. But not as good as some places in Edgware Road. Friendly staff, but the place is very compact and small.

While exploring brick lane randomly bumped in this Syrian authentic restaurant with yummy falafel. After finishing the falafel I realize I forgot to take pictures for me google review page. But it’s worth visiting.

The dinner experience was fabulous. We had the hummus chicken shwarma, a very parsley forward tabbouleh salad, baba ganoush and haloumi cheese. Price, service and flavor amazing. The decor is lovely too, I might change up the lighting a bit to have softer lighting for the dining room. Obviously it's right near Brick Lane so can get noisy on the street. Otherwise was one of my favorite Syrian restaurant experiences.

Just had one of the freshest and tastiest falafel sandwiches I've ever had in my life! Absolutely delicious and highly recommended! As a vegan I also appreciate the attention to detail and the wife selection of vegan options. I will definitely be back!

Everything is perfect about this place. As an Arab, this has some of the best shawerma in London — especially the meat which is very very juicy and rich in flavour. The co-owner Motaz is very generous, friendly, funny and lovely. Highly recommend this place!! An East London gem

Fantastic and authentic Syrian and Lebanese food. Really warm nice service and a cool, cozy atmosphere. We had the Chicken Shawarma Bowl with Rice (amazing rice) as well as the Falafel Platter. Treat yourself to some good food on the lane.

Such great quality food and lovely family feeling, we shared a lamb shish wrap with a salad box with halloumi and falafel, plus a side of hummus plate and everything was delicious! We also topped it all of with a Moroccan tea. Highly recommend to visit and support this local restaurant and its owners!

Moutaz and Miah are amazing. It’s by far the best restaurant on Brick Lane. I am from south London and rarely go East London but if I ever do go there I always go here. Authentic and unique experience provided. I recommend coming here if you are ever on brick lane.

A hidden gem. This place doesn't look like much from the outside (or the inside) but the food is so amazing it keeps me coming back.

Delicious mixed vegetable platter! Generous portion and everything tasted really fresh. The chilli sauce was also top notch. My kids also really enjoyed their lamb shawarma. It's right on Brick Lane so roadside might not be best if it's a busy day but it was quite quiet on a Monday lunchtime. Would definitely come again.

Not real Syrian - As per Brick Lane standards (Bengali)

Simply phenomenal. Some of the best food I've ever eaten, also the best Lebanese food I've ever had. Just wholesome, tasty, and made with love.

So I ordered the falafel platter, it came with 2 falalels, a handful of fries and a little tabbouleh, salad and hummus. Looks can be deceiving, but I wasn't satisfied for £13. They call it a platter, but just a small plate. Now onto service, the server didn't provide no sauces, had to go to the counter to fetch them myself after reminding him once. No napkins. No water. Ambiance was dead with only one other diner, there's a reason this place is empty. Also charged me 10% service charge without providing the above. Also the kitchen doesn't look very hygienic. Don't let the pictures and reviews delude you. I don't know if they changed owners, either the place is gone downhill. Avoid.

Excellent food. Loved everything we ate and the large chicken shawarma for £7 is a bargain. The red pepper mohamara was also brilliant. Would prefer plastic mats on the tables (or just wooden tables) for hygiene purposes, but other than that, great food and vibes.

The atmosphere is pleasantly Syrian. Good place. I recommend the lamb shawarma. Much better meat quality respect to a normal lamb doner. Prices are reasonable for Brick Lane. Service was good, although a bit rushed and impersonal, because the place was full.

Damascus bite has very delicious levantine food with wide variety and well prepared. Staff are very polite and service is great.

Was searching for an authentic shawarma place near Liverpool street and came up with this and another. Went for the Syrian Style Shawarma which was decent but nothing extraordinary. The owner was very welcoming and friendly.

Absolutely the worst restaurant we have ever been in!! We left most of the food on the plate.

Wonderful service and food quality

Absolutely delicious, some of the best lamb shawarma I’ve had. The shawarma box is a good amount of food for cheap and it comes with two delectable sauces. My friend got the chicken shawarma wrap and it looked huge, he was entirely satisfied. Would return for dinner.

Authentic food with a great service.

We came to damascus bite very late at night (a group of 11 people) after a gig at rich mix, the servers and chefs were super kind and even played iraqi music in the restaurant for us. Absolute vibes, mind you we came eating late at night post-midnight and the food was still very very good quality! Which is a sign that the food here is fresh and the provisions are great — Will be coming back during day hours next time but would highly recommend!

This place changed my life. The best Shawarma I have ever tried, ingredients are fresh, tasty and perfect. their garlic sauce and spicy sauce are to die for, I would eat this everyday for the rest of my life, the best falafel in the world!! I go here once a week and order the large falafel shawarma with a side of chips and spicy and garlic sauce, all for £10. AMAZING and worth every penny. So glad I discovered this place.
