Having to place this review under this page as the name changed to Beachcomber Inn many years ago but for some reason it hasn’t been updated on trip advisor. Me, my husband and stepson recently came to Butlins for the festive wonderland break (in between Christmas and new year) we have been to the beachcomber inn before however it was 2018. On one particular visit it was just me and my husband who came for breakfast. We had toast each, cereal each, a latte and an americano and it came to around £11. It is slightly more expensive than a pub chain outside a resort but that’s fine, it’s to be expected. Nothing really to report on breakfast as it would have been difficult to get wrong! Another visit we came for our lunch.. my stepson just had a bowl of chips as he doesn’t always have the best of appetites, my husband had the mixed grill and I got a jacket potato with chilli and a separate portion of cheese. Unfortunately the cheese was missed off my order so we had to request it and when we originally placed the order for the jacket potato we were told that i could not have one because it was after 3pm however on the menu it does not state this. Anyway to cut a long story short the kind lady behind the bar put the order through for me. It’s an average pub with average pub grub, don’t expect the ritz and you won’t be disappointed l.

We Visit Butlins often and do enjoy it. However this certain food establishment.. we keep making the same mistake in hope the food improves at this venue after leaving a few months inbetween but nothing changes! My dinner once again came out cold, the chicken looked and tested like it had been sitting under a warm lamp since the day before, it was cold inside, tasteless and hard to chew. My partners food was cold and my child's dinner burnt. We all left our dinners and a member of staff came over and asked "is everything ok" in which we politely replied, "unfortunately not, our dinners are cold and taste awful and my child can't bite hers as its burnt" his reply... "oh"... then scribbled on some paper out his pocket and walked away! Not 1 member of staff would even come near are table after, not even to clear the plates We didn't bother with the manager as we did this last time we were in, he wasn't bothered then by the look on his face and tone in his voice and with the food still shockingly the same he clearly did absolutely nothing about improving it. Its a shame we've been visiting Butlins for over 20 years but over the past few years this eating place has gone down hill alot we have many shocking stories but after giving it several chances it's clear we need to stay away!

We always go here at least once or twice when we stay at Butlins Skegness, mainly because it's convenient on the day. We want somewhere close, so the children can play while they wait for dinner and the adults can rest a while. The prices for food are a bit high but cheaper than others on site and to be honest, tasty, the drinks as you expect are a rip off. Quite often at busy times they struggle to clear the tables for the next lot of patrons. The staff are friendly but obviously pushed to their limit. The pub is quite pleasant in it's decor but it's not comfy. All in all it obviously makes a killing due to it's location and the fact that parents can get a slight breather from the little darlings while they play.

This was one of the best meals we had, the quality of the food was brilliant. We ate around 4:30 and from ordering to the food arriving it took 20 mins. The kids meals were fabulous proper sausages, fluffy mash, proper chicken breast nuggets (not like the McDonalds ones). I had the smothered Chicken which was very tasty, nice moist chicken breast and good quality bacon, my husband had a Chicken Tikka which looked plentiful and he said had lots of chicken in it. The kids dessert that came as part of their meal deal was huge, I had to help finish it. With a large glass of wine and regular coke the whole meal cost £40 for 2 children and 2 Adults.

This pub is now renamed and known as The Beachcomber Inn. The pub has a lovely outdoor seating area and a fantastic outdoor play area for the kids. Inside there are plenty of tables and a large bar area. Me and my husband came here twice for food during our stay in Butlins. The first time we came we had our evening meal, it was relatively busy with a 40 minute wait however this was to be expected on a busy resort like Butlins. I would recommend that people arrive early for their evening meal as the wait time increased to 1 hour 15 minutes whilst we were there. I had smothered chicken (in a bbq and cheese sauce with bacon) chips and peas.. this dish was very large and was delicious. My husband had a large Yorkshire pudding with sausage, mash, peas in an onion gravy. He also enjoyed this and it was reasonable in size. I think for the two meals it was around £16 which is slightly more than your average pub in town however we thought it was still reasonable. The only thing I would say was the drinks are very expensive however you do expect this, a medium glass of rose was £6.35!! Although prices for drinks are the same in all the bars at Butlins. We also came here for breakfast one morning and had 1 porridge, 2x toast, 2 orange juices and Danish pastries. I was pleasantly surprised with this breakfast as it was reasonable in price (around £12) and you got 2 slices of toast per portion and also 3 warm Danish pastries. The only criticism I have is the orange juice is very bitter however that could just be a personal taste bud preference. I would definitely return here when I stay at Butlins again.

I went here for a family meal, on our last night of our holiday. Now renamed The Beachcomber Inn, we visited as a largish group of 7 and were pleasantly surprised. There was plenty of choice on the menu for kids and adults including our veggie. We started with the nachos which were very tasty, and "proper" nachos, not the Doritos or similar used by many establishments. My wife and shared the meat platter and that was plenty for lunch, my brother-in-law couldn't finish his big burger, just too big. The kids enjoyed their burgers and pasta and all finished with a pancake. The service was good, and they checked we were ready for the next course when cleaning up the previous. The kids had the outdoor play area for entertainment. All left happy.

Visited on Friday night and the food was good, would have preferred more choice for people who are dieting, as there was very little in the sense of anything healthy to choose, even the salads had oil all over them and of the 4 salads 3 were ceasar salad, with lashings of creamy sauce. They did have steaks, which can be a good option, but no option to swap for veg/salad or swap chips for a jacket. something basis I would expect as standard in any pub the service however was quick, which we were grateful for, and not bad value for money.

Ate her the most while on our Xmas break at Butlins, mainly because it was the only place open over lunch time! Food was standard pub fare, but it didn't take long to arrive and it was hot when it did. Only let down is due to the amount of doors in the place it didn't matter where you sat, there was always a cold draught!

My daughter, granddaughters (13, 8 and 7) went twice to the Sun and Moon - now the Beachcomber - during our recent stay at Butlin's, on Sunday lunchtime and Thursday evening. It is on a par with Brewer's Fayre and similar chains, both for variety and prices. The staff are efficient and pleasant, telling you before you order how long you will have to wait for food and then acting quickly on requests for more serviettes, clean knives to replace dropped ones, etc. There is plenty of room between the tables, which were cleared quickly as diners left. Highly recommended.

With our last 3 visits to to butlins we've eaten here and it's been beyond poor, with been taken over and changing names we hoped it may be better but nothing g has changed. On Our recent visit the pub was empty and told it'd be a 30 mins wait for our order, it ended up being 50 mins. My sons burgundy bun was creamated served with soft cucumber, wife's and mums steak was cold and fatty both served with freezing peas, step dad's chicken tikka was more like a kids portion and my bbq chicken was cold which was sent back and changed, we got a refund on all apart from the tikka and bbq chicken. The only explanation was that the head chef had gone on his break (only on all day) and left his team to cook our dinner. 3 bad experiences, butlins need to drastically change this resturant

On - site pub at Butlins, Skegness. Spacious and comfortable, with an adventure playground outside for the kids. One of several visits but perhaps the first time I've not eaten. Service always good, same range of drinks as the rest of the resort. There is a constant cycle of improvement at Butlins, but being a massive place it is a steady piece of work. I remember the refurbishment and the creation of the play area, and I think the interior is due some TLC, now. By no means grotty though.

We was exploring the area and thought you can't go wrong with pub food so stopped in after seeing a Friday fish offer advertised outside.Finding a table was simple and we ordered our food. There was some kind of deal on and we managed to get a drink with our meal for £10 per person, a bit more than I'd pay on the beach down the road but not bad considering it's a pub environment. It was enjoyable to eat and I would happily go again if I go back to the resort. The atmosphere is nice and nautical and the place itself was clean and tidy. I didn't have much interaction with the staff as I didn't order but they did come to check on us and make sure everything was okay which was nice.

The prices initially put us off at first but as we were in a group of 16 it was the most convenient place on butlins for us all to go for a sit down meal.We adked if we could move some tables together to accomodate us all to which the manager offered us the conservatory which was their usual function room.Everyone single member of our party enjoyed there meal and deserts, I recommened the mixed grill!Service was excellent, all staff vert friendly and helpful. We even went back for a breakfast, although very nice, not worth £7.95!

The steak looked like a burn victim. It was really crispy and tough even though asked for done. The service took about an hour and it wasn't even busy. The chicken didn't taste like chicken and the pie no more pie. Overall this restaurant is not worth going to. Well done Butlins...

It is clear that Butlins set out to recreate a less formal dining and drinking experience, modelling The Sun and the Moon on what appeared to be a Wetherspoons. However, the execution leaves a lot to be desired - the service was slow and the food was VERY disappointing.Opting for a cooked breakfast, we grabbed a plate and headed to the service station - where due to not everything being available, we waited 30 minutes to get our food. In this time, the sausages, bacon and beans were left on the plate under a spotlight to stay warm, as we waited for the fried bread, hash browns etc to arrive - which was clearly forgotten about as the servers had to chase the kitchen staff, which they then openly moaned about in front of us.When the food finally did arrive, we were disappointed in that it looks limp, lifeless and overcooked - a sea of beige. So concluding, poor value, service and food. It's not even good enough for a hangover fix...!

This pub is located on the Butlins Site Skegness reviews of the holiday park can be found here;Butlins Skegnesshttp://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g2281308-d284888-Reviews-Butlins_Skegness_Resort-Ingoldmells_Lincolnshire_England.htmlWe attended this pub on our first day and it was the first and only time we used this due to the poor service and length of time it took to get our food.On arrival the pub was busy with all the tables in the main room full we eventually found a table in another room back room (function room) however none of the staff seemed to be interested in helping us find a table. The system of ordering works similar to other pub chains were you decide on your food and then go to the bar and order it with your table number and pick up drinks at the same time. Then menu was normal for a pub with food ranging from Steak, pies, sea food through to pizza and snack food. The ordering at the bar was excellent with the staff member being chatty and helpful and going back though the order when we had finished.Upon return to the table we waited what seemed to be ages the children were hungry from our long travel so started to get restless. We chased up the food order and the waitress got some colouring books and crayons which was a nice touch. The food order arrived for the family however nothing for myself. Having waited for another 5-10 minutes I chased the order again to be informed that the kitchen had dropped my food and was cooking it again. By the time I had got my food the rest of the family were nearly finished.I complained at the end of the meal to the team supervisor however he knew nothing about the problem however did apologise took personal responsibility and offer 20% off our next meal.In summary the food is expensive and nothing special and the service is poor with one person excepting all the problems of other team member in the pub.

Drink and food very expensive ,even considering its on the Butlins site . Poor and limited selection of meals , could do better with the range of meals available. £8.95 for a burger and 12 chips anyone with a 45 minute wait ? To be fair there is free wi fi and the staff are very helpful and friendly .I know its a franchised set up but for the prices they charge you should get decent portions .

This is what one would expect. It's situated in Butlins resort and delivers nothing more (but nothing less) than such an onsite pub should. The bar staff were utterly confused by my request for a pint if orange juice and lemonade. This involved the entire bar staff debating in front of me not only how it should be put together (one bottle or two of OJ) and how thu should price it up. This resulted in me being charged just over £1 for the first and just under £3 on my second visit to the bar. The staff were friendly though and the pub spotlessly clean. The food was more than adequate. Nothing flash but not bad by any means. Maybe a little overpriced but considering it was within the resort I guess that is to be expected. Definitely room for improvement but would visit again if we needed a quick pub meal at Butlins!

My friends and I had breakfast, it all came at completely different times, so when mine turned up, they had all finished theirs. No apology from staff whatsoever. When it eventually turned up, it was stone cold - so it was obviously sitting on the side & forgotten about. I took it back - it was only slightly better when it returned being lukewarm. The eggs were hard & inedible and there was more fat on the bacon than bacon! Stupidly we ventured in again as I noticed they do Prosecco by the bottle. When we went to order a bottle, the girl had no idea what we were ordering and kept calling in bruschetta - well same country at least!!!!!!! The whole of the bar staff (4) came to the conclusion that they didn't have any, because they couldn't find it on the sparsely laden shelves. Butlins apparently do everything for our delight - ummmm, I think not. You need to educate your staff for apologies & knowledge. Stay well clear of this pub - you have been warned. .....

We decided to eat in here on our last night as we thought it would be somewhere special, how wrong we were. The food was an absolute disgrace and barely edible. I ordered fish and chips and the fish when it came was dry, curled up at both ends and I had a job to find any fish inside the batter at all. My daughter and son in law had the mixed grill and this was also overcooked and dry and had no taste to it at all. The only thing good about this place is the staff, they were very curtious and polite. As I had already had reason to complain earlier when the table we had booked 3 days before had not been reserved I was reluctant to complain again otherwise the whole lot would have gone back and I would have demanded my money back. The food in the premier dining was much nicer and better value for money and as we had eaten there all week we wished we had gone there for our last night.

I have many a concern about the quality of the food being presented and my overall dining experience, I would like that in future the jumbo hand battered fish and chips was boneless (I know this is a challenge) as I had ingested many bones both large and small, I feel it is unsatisfactory that a restaurant would dare this serve this to a paying customer and I hope it will be changed in the future, furthermore I feel the staff were unwelcoming as they did not take the time to see if the meal was okay and to our liking,, I'm also informing you about the staff being unprofessional by stacking plates on the table and providing insufficient cutlery and that throughout my dining experience I heard numerous poor comments coming from other diners. One of the most enlightening moments of my meal was during the ordering process, the choice of meal was dictated to me because there was lack of stocking in both the Main courses and in the desserts, in concern with the desserts, the use if pie pastry was disturbing as it did not taste well accompanying the sweet filling. But overall the worst thing about my visit was that my meal arrived at different times to the fellow people I was dining with, this left me disappointed because I had just begun my meal where as my fellow diners had finished, this was unacceptable, I hope that in the future these concerns will he addressed and rectified so that your restaurant may provide an adequate dining experience.

Eat here twice during a stay at Butlins. Breakfast was ok - traditional english. Nothing special though. Dinner was a Lasagne, which was smothered in think gooey cheese, not my cup of tea I am afraid. Had to scrape it off to eat what was a very average Lasagne. The pub itslef was nice, very modern, clean and the staff were very quick to serve. Shame about the food.

The service has declined since we last dined here. Little touches have disappeared. The wine is now plonked on the table and initial glass no longer poured. I had the lamb wellington, and was somewhat disappointed to receive 2 small cubes of meat. It was very nice though as was the rest of our meal.

Tucked away between the large venue's across from happy days club but if you do spot it well worth a visit, next door to a chippy. Run by working class folk with a friendly attitude and friendly prices. Our favourite is the Sunday carvery with generous portions and to top it all comes with a pudding included in the price. A good extensive menu at affordable prices for families and couples. Large table's, good seating but what make ginghams our favourite is the helpful friendly staff and atmosphere. Well worth a visit.
