Arrived without a booking just after opening and we were expecting 10-12 to be joining us. Staff member who greeted up suggested we sit in the bar as we could order and pay separately which was not a problem. The male member of staff who served us was one of the most miserable people I’ve ever met. A part of our group was attempting to use Blue Light discount but the QR code was taking a while to load. There were no other customers waiting to be served but she still apologised for him having to wait all of 30 seconds for the code to load and his response was ‘you’re holding up the till’. None of us were told where to find cutlery or condiments and we waited 20 minutes for salad bowls to be brought over until one of the group asked and he just pointed in the direction of some bowl. Rest of the staff were pleasant enough especially as we’d were a big group but the one male in particular had a terrible attitude, I would not return because of his customer service.

Just a heads up , we are staying at the Travelodge and decided to have a couple of drinks in the harvester. We were greeted by what can only be described as a miserable git!! Not got his name because I had to walk away guy with a ponytail and beard hardly acknowledged us asked were the toilet was all he said was over there! Won’t be bothering coming here again . Really annoyed 😡

Absolutely lovely lunch today.. all the staff was smiley and well presented. Food was hot and quick. Salad bar was well stocked Never disappointed at the harvester . Great value for lunch and will definitely be back again.

Anyone unlucky enough to suffer with allergies, you are in seriously safe hands with Faye! She was absolutely amazing today with my family and I. Faye welcomed us to the table and the first question she asked was with regards to allergies - more people and restaurants need to take note! After a quick read of the disclaimers we ordered our food, safe in the knowledge and in Faye’s capable hands. She was amazing, from start to finish. We need more Faye’s in this world!!!

Been here twice over the last week as previously the harvester team has met our expectations, however this time we were very disappointed to say the least. Our first questionable event was with allergies, one of our party suffers with an allergy and when we sat we were met with a lady training, this isn't a problem however, we were faced with many questions about the allery and asked to sign pages about the allergy. I haven't had to do this previously, so it seems like it was professional intention infront of the new trainee. This is confusing and worrying as why is allergies being taken this seriously when someone is training, unless this has been put into place since the 30th of August (The last time I was here). We had starters and they were okay. But in my main meal I had found a cocktail stick lodged into my flatbeead (allergy flag indiction) however it was not me with the allergy, when I pulled it out it seemed to have no flag, like it had been ripped off in my food, this could have been a choking hazard as well as having a green flag within my food ? Normally, the food and service was great but this time didn't reflect on that service.

This place has really gone downhill. It seems greedily they now overbook for no shows. Was going to celebrate a birthday with a work colleague. I specifically went in to request an easily accessible table when making the reservation. The tiny pokey table we were shown to was completely unsuitable & the manager could not care less to find an alternative. It really is very bad customer service especially when you have booked. Complained to M& B and they couldn't care less either. We simply politely walked out & went somewhere else where we made very welcome. The Summerhill now has a take it or leave it attitude sadly we chose to leave it.............

Booked a table for a group of 25 for a 60th birthday. The waitress sue was great! Was chatty and very pleasant and made our time here enjoyable. Also our food came out together, which was great, so we were able to eat at the same time.

The food was standard harvester food but the service stood out as excellent. We had Emily as our server for the evening and she was brilliant with the children, very attentive and we felt at complete ease and like nothing was too big of an ask. Her friendly attitude made our entire experience so much more pleasurable and we really enjoyed our meal. Thanks Emily for being great.

Met up with the ladies for some lunch, the food was absolutely amazing, salad was to die for as always. Our waitress Faye was so friendly, bubbly and funny we had an amazing experience with her, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going back and I hope we have the lovely Faye serving us again as she made our afternoon.

On being shown to our table … the table had food all over the food including large pieces of tomato. Clearly a small child had been eating previous… obviously the child had been doing what any child would do and make mess with some food items dropping floor… we did ask that it was swept up which the waitress did… however without apology. It was like I was fussy. Funny enough I don’t like my own children walking through pieces of tomatoe…. Then we ordered food all went well, food was good when it came. The table however we was sat at? Seriously my auntie unfortunately was placed right by a narrow walk by so had to keep moving for people with pushchairs etc. Then when staff had to move high chairs they promptly lifted chairs over my aunties head… I’ll be honest I don’t think health and safety came in consideration for staff or customer with this manoeuvre… The time between our lunch and tables being cleared and being asked desserts? Very long. Saw waitresses chatting away… didn’t seem care…. Finally at dessert the waitress leaned over my mother to place food next to her and her elbow went in ice cream. As a typical polite person my mother apologised and waitress said don’t worry! Hmmmm I think she should have apologised not my mother. We heard one of the waitressing staff ask when someone was paying with card if they would put a tip on for her? I don’t think it is a good customer service to ask…… Food overall was good, however feel that some staff need some more training and support in customer service. Perhaps remove that table by ramp as person sitting there is constantly jostled , moved around , high chairs over head.

Very average food for the price they charge. I had chargrilled chicken skewers which was so dry and chewy they made my jaw ache! Really hard to eat. They came with sweet potato fries which was soggy and like they had been warmed up from lunchtime. Coleslaw which was warm and tasted like it was off? Couldn’t eat that either. This was £15.99! A flat bread which was so tough along with the dry chewy chicken my jaws had a really good work out! My husband had steak which he actually said was really nice. My son had kids fish with mash and corn on cob…the fish had soggy batter and mushy fish- again like it had been reheated. The mash was like it was made with superglue? The corn on cob was mushy too. I’m convinced the food isn’t fresh there! Well definitely not all of it. Luckily we was sat at the back of restaurant and I was so glad as near the salad bar area was full of smoke from the kitchen and I nearly choked just walking to toilet! They really need to sort the kitchen area out it seems! I felt sorry for customers sitting in the area. From the harvester app I had a free pink gin and 25% off bill….i was told I can only use one of these!! Bit silly I thought as it was on your app and I won the gin on the weekly give away on there! But I obviously had the 25% off the meal luckily as I wasn’t impressed with my meal. Overall we are in no rush to return, there are MUCH better places to eat locally.

Just had my worst experience ever in a restaurant. Never in my life have I experienced breathing difficulties/near asthma attack in an eating establishment. Harvester - avoid. Waited 5-10 minutes at reception desk before being spoken to Coffee machine not working Asked for more tea - told had to use same pots as no more clean ones Drinks machine ran out of Pepsi Waited an hour for food to be bought out - had to ask where it was Whole place full of smoke from kitchen. People wiping their eyes due to stinging. I had trouble breathing/aggravated asthma. Couldn’t finish meal due to breathing problems, asked for windows to be opened to be told they don’t open. They propped fire escape open with chair. Manager said extractors don’t work properly. Said they are due to be cleaned tomorrow, but they don’t work correctly and with all the cooking and no ventilation, it causes the smoke. This was not an isolated incident - it happens regularly due to insufficient extractors. Returned home, had to shower and put all clothes in wash as absolutely stank of smoke. Only saving grace - due to threat to health they cleared our bill, which is why I’ve awarded 1 star. Will not be returning. If the inspectors from Dudley Council or Food Standards Agency turned up, they’d get closed down immediately.

We are regular Harvester goers but normally go to The Fox Hunt in Halesowen. Tried the kingswinford for a change . Firstly asked for drinks and just supplied us the glasses to get our own which we normally have bought over to us then refill ourselves 🥺. We hadlitterally just sat down with our salad bowl and the two fish dinners arrived ,how on earth was this cooked freshly ,,, I really prefer to eat my salad and digest it before my main meals arrived .this was bad practice . On inspecting my fish cutting into the batter it was very dry not substance to it at all . Really disappointed in the Kitchen ngswinford Harvester .the chef needs to restrain it he / she thinks that serving up food in this manner.keepint food warm for life Ng period of time it is very bad practice . I hope that service will improve if I every do visit this Harvester again .

Visited on a busy Saturday night. Considering how busy the restaurant was (with lots of big Christmas parties by the looks of things) the staff were still incredibly helpful and efficient. We didn’t wait any longer than usual for service or for our food. The salad was all fresh and nice. The food was also lovely. We all said how impressed we were and we’ll definitely return!

Go there on a regular basis.went lunch time and had a 40% code off.i had simply chicken which was the smallest piece of chicken I have seen.not many fries either.good job there was salad.my partner had chicken stack.it was.ok but same again chicken was small.i booked a seat with the hard back not a chair which was not done but I couldn't be bothered to complain.the table for 2 was fit for 2 kids.we had to use window sill to place drinks and other plates.not a great afternoon.

Have visited the summer hill harvester many times over the years but will not be returning now after our post covid visit on 5/3. Was told that Gordon’s gin had run out, funny that at 7pm on a Saturday but the much more expensive gin options were available. Seated in a booth opposite a dirty plate collecting and scraping section which is disgusting and not what you want to be looking at. Salad bar was a shambles with you now having to randomly queue in front of the open kitchen and kitchen doors with staff trying to get past you. Small choice of salad options with the examples side dried up and unappetising. The member of staff serving the salad kept disappearing so I saw customers start serving themselves to be reprimanded by the lady behind the welcome desk who then served them, not stopping to wash her hands so from a health and safety point of view, why not just let customers serve themselves?! When the salad serving member of staff was there, no gloves just sticking their hands in a bowl to pick it up and throw the salad in for you. One piece of cold bread and one butter, that’s all you now get. Genuinely, main course sizes were smaller yet prices have increased and by a good few pounds. Chips are served in the smallest of little metal cups and the whole meal felt stingy. Asked for my daughters burger not to have tomato on and of course it arrived with tomato on so all in all a hugely disappointing, rip off of a meal. One drinks round for four alcohol drinkers, two drivers and a child and only main courses for six adults and a child came to over £140 which was ridiculously expensive for a very underwhelming evening. No, I don’t want to be contacted to discuss our below par evening, what’s the point. Just improve.

The salad cart at this Harvester has been a bit 'iffy' of late so today I was pleasantly surprised to find it looking fresh and appetising. It would appear that there is a new sous chef as it was replenished three times while I was eating and great care - and pride - was taken to keep it free from spilt food. Also good - AT LAST! to find tea plates for the bread rolls.Please Mr Manager, pass on my compliments to the chap in charge of the salad cart - this is what Harvester Restaurants are famous for and yours is now excellent.My only gripe is that there never anyone waiting to show you to a table upon arrival - I was beginning to feel a bit unwanted.

We went for Sunday lunch our second visit. Must say have not used Harvester restaurants for years and this one come recommended by my sister who enjoys good food and value for money. This place ticks the box salad bar fantastic topped up all the time by a great guy who is very helpful. Service was first class, quality fine.Choice and value in my opinion was excellent. Will definitely be back.

So tonight me and my family went to the harvester for a meal. After waiting some time for our meals to come out we weren't asked whether we would like anything else with our meals and were left. One of us wanted some sauce which we asked for and waited which then we had to ask for again because the waiter had just ignored the order. After that we had 2 steaks that weren't cooked correctly! We told one of the staff which was extremely rude and just said "I'll let somebody know" and walked away, he then carried on serving tables. We then said again to another waitress which she had no idea about the cold and undercooked steaks which she took back and replaced. After waiting over 15 minutes for the replacement meal we was told we would not be charged for the 2 steaks. It came to paying the bill, the waitress bought it over and didn't even give us time to check it over. We paid the bill and left the restaurant, once we got home we checked the bill only to realise we had been over charged by over £30! When we went back to the restaurant, they went through the bill which is still wrong! We went for a nice family meal which we are all extremely upset and disappointed with and we will not be returning any time soon!

My wife and I decided to pay this establishment a visit, sadly not too much choice if you're vegetarian. As much as the place wasn't over busy, the staff weren't very attentive, and my wife asked twice for a drink and was ignored. It took them a while to take the empty plates and we weren't asked if we enjoyed our food, would I come here again, I don't think so.
