Lawnswood Pub in Dudley

Really enjoyed my visit to the lawnswood, food was out of this world great selection of ales and beers as well. Staff are very friendly and welcoming definitely will be going again. 5 stars all round

The food was less than adequate and for the price I would have expected a little bit more on the plate, the only saving grace about the food was the man n cheese....... The service could have been better with staff being a little bit warmer and less deer in the headlights when it came to customers...... The only thing I couldn't fault was the beer...... Will continue my search for a dog friendly pub with some better food and service.

A few things on the menu weren't available including coffee! Nice pub but the smokers need to be told to move out of the doorway so people don't have to walk through a cloud of smoke when going inside.

We had pre-booked our table, which we normally do (having frequented this pub for the past 15 years!!) When we arrived we were told by the Manager, Michelle, that we had been moved to the next table along. We weren't happy about this, but sat down & noticed that the 'reserved table board ' had been moved along to where we were sat but still had the original reserved number on it. We decided to bot order 'fish🐟 & chips 🍟 only to be told by the Manager, Michelle that the fish had all gone. Ironically enough the 4 people sat at our original reserved table all had 'fish & chips 🍟 '. This certainly 'rubbed salt 🧂 in the wound'. We then decided to leave without ordering food. The Manager, Michelle came over & said 'they are a party of four, whereas there's only 2 of you!!!!' We both felt very 'let down ' and disillusioned about this. We were frankly disgusted!!!!

Friendly local pub. Pub chain food of a decent quality and a good selection of drinks, including Lillie's Cider which is a personal favourite. No beer garden as such, the outside tables are basically in the car park, but better than no outside tables.

It's a good place to eat. Good quality food at a reasonable price and a good selection of drinks.

One of our favourite places to eat! The food is always lovely, the staff are friendly and very accommodating and the meals are reasonably priced. We always leave feeling full after our meals, and have recommended this pub to a lot of friends over the years we have been coming here. Fab local pub, would always recommend!

Staff were super accommodating as we booked a table to watch sports. I ordered drinks on app that came almost instantly. Food and drinks were very reasonably priced. The steak was the best ive had in a long time. They put on tnt sports for us with sound too. Would definitely come back

Have been coming here for years and not had an issue but came today and waited over an hour for food pub was empty, asked for medium steaks came out rare and some food didn't even make it to the table. Didn't bother waiting for the childrens puddings was quicker to go to the spar and buy ice creams. Won't be coming again.

Had lunch here with my mother, food choices were very good for us. Varied and priced well. Sharon ( behind the bar and serving) was extremely polite and attentive. We will definitely return

Used to be a great pub. Hadn't been for a while. It was tired and rough around the edges. In need of a refurb. OK for a quick pint but wouldn't go there for a special occasion. Shame. You'd to be a quality pub.

Not many vegan options but nice atmosphere and staff were lovely.

Popped in for a quick pint and to my surprise they had Cruzcampo on tap 😛 very nice! Bar tender was a lovely gentleman and very polite. The football was being shown on TV also which was a bonus and plenty of seats available to sit wnd enjoy my pint 🍺

The Lawnswood is a lovely pub and walking distance for us. We have had some good meals there. Last night we tried the £20 for 2, two course meals plus drinks each. Cheese & Bacon burgers with chips - was lovely, think it would help presentation to have small amount of salad or peas on plate too though. It looked a bit lost with burger and dish of chips on a long plate. For dessert we both had honeycomb cheesecake, very disappointing - there was no taste to it at all. Staff always friendly and helpful.

Why does this place sell food? Terrible !! The smallest potion, cheapest ingredients, made the mistake of returning here, I didn’t learn my lesson from the first time, this place is fine if you have low standards , and zero expectations in food quality. Should have gone to the chippy next door

We had a lovely Christmas Day meal again this year. Fresh vegetables and plenty of them. They even sorted an alternative veggie option for me again! There was a delay between courses which didn’t bother us as we were not rushed and this allowed time to digest!

Came for Christmas dinner on Christmas day with with a party of 9. The food along with the service was extremely Good thought it was very well planned, dining only, no drinkers after a certain time and plenty of time given between each course. Have decided to book for next Christmas 🎄 day.

We are as a family of 10 on Christmas day. The atmosphere was lovely as was the food. Anyone going out for lunch on Xmas day expects a longer wait than normal, this gave us time to enjoy each others company and did not impact negatively on our experience at all. Staff were all lovely. Thanks all for a fantastic Xmas day dinner.

We went for our Christmas Dinner yesterday. Really enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere was great. Staff were brilliant. Will be booking for next year. Well done to the Lawnswood team.

We had our Christmas Day dinner here we were told to sit down at 3pm… at 5pm we still hadn’t had our main meal the organisation of the way meals were served was terrible. We were the very last to be served , no apology was given for the long wait probably because we complained on the length of time we were waiting. When we finally got our main course the food was awful and cold …the turkey was so dry It was inedible the roast potatoes resembled cardboard. By 6pm we had our dessert….. a very thin slice of Christmas pudding!! In total 3hrs to serve a set menu was a disgrace . We definitely won’t eat here again

Busy pub, nice atmosphere and good drink selection

Awful food, took 45 minutes to arrive and portions have gone down, new supplier is awful !! Only a few staff on so service was slow and forgot some of the additions on the menu. Don’t recommend coming, used to be a lot better.

We came to enjoy a drink & meal )lsten to Chrisrmas Carols. A real shame re the disrespect shown to the Choir tonight, 16th December. Whilst Choir singing carols loud Birthday party broke into Happy Birthday during a Carol. We cam specifically to enjoy Carol service and we couldn't hear at all. Choir just seemed ignored right by the entrance doors, Why not let the Choir go into the dining area? Many walked in and out of pub through Choir to go for a smoke. Really? couldnt you just wait? Choir came around collecting, we gave yet saw many ignore. If,you are inviting a Choir in at least give them recognituon,ring a bell et or bring them more into the pub. A real shame and felt quite sorry for the Choir/Vicar. Yes I did give feednack whilst there. Only to be advised but the Choir joined in with Happy Birthday, ONLY because they were drowned out in the middle of a Christmas Carol by Happy Birthday. The same group then didnt even join in or acknowledge Choir collecting. Really poor show, Lawnswood Pub We didn't stay for meal as lost appretite

We went here @12 months ago ..The food was lovely so we decided to go again for our daughter's birthday..What a real bad decision 😡😡.The starters came out burnt .Just when you thought it couldn't get worse ..IT DID..The main courses had Salad thrown on the plates that were all Black and mouldy and the Lasagne looked like a white lump of greasy mess..The food was disgusting..The menu clearly says Home Made ..Which when Questioned the manager..An arrogant Rude woman said we have no control on food as it's brought in..I Don't know who's idea it was to put her in charge of the pub but trust me you've made a big mistake she needs retraining in her manners and how to gain customers not lose them with her vile attitude..Well on that note if you want food poisoning and a hefty £60 bill for Christmas this is definitely the place to go ..I can reassure you we won't visit here again until the management Staff are booted out and real HomeMade food is served..The menu is Full of lies as the only thing home made was the grease and mouldy salad ...😡😡😡😡😡 If I could give --stars you would definitely be awarded ten out of ten for ruining a nice local pub with your I don't care attitude..

Pub food which includes general type meals to suit most tastes. Meal deals and reasonable prices. Good coffee and friendly staff. Pub also allows you to bring dogs inside. Still good service. Assortment of wines. Can watch sport. Following a Christmas meal tonight there is something radically wrong with a pub which used to be a regular venue for a meal. I think management should address obvious issues as people will be taking their business elsewhere.

Always used to be a lovely pub. Now ruined by new management. Poor catering of the pre-packed warmed up food (this is what they told me, nothing is prepared on site) literally rotten salad served with undercooked, over salty food and very poor customer service from management to boot. Would not visit again. Wondered why it was so empty when we walked in for such a usually busy pub . Now we know why, because standards have took a landslide.

Food was tasty, although lacked a bit in presentation. The chips looked like they were the last ones at the bottom of the bag, there was probably only about a dozen on each plate. Not the usual standard. There service was good and quick. Being able to order from the table via the app was a bonus.

My daughter surprised me with lunch,I ordered fish and chips it was lovely, the chardonnay was nice too

Used to be a Really Nice Local, just a pity it can get a bit rough though with some of the workmen out of their vans in there work clothes after work these days. But when they've gone it's OK, as is service and food then.

Having eaten here for many years we were recently very surprised to be served our starters at the same time as the main courses which apparently is how it's always been done? There was no room on the table for all this food & it has never happened before. There's always been a wait in between. I specified when ordering that they were 1st & 2nd courses only to be told that if she'd heard me say that she would have stressed it would all come together?! The food was cold by the time we'd eaten starters plus the order was missing certain things too.

We came here as a family of four all staff were friendly the food was good also my dessert was lush. I would call here again if I’m back up visiting family x

Toilets a no go 3 flights of stairs OK if your 18 I went for the Friday deal of cod and chips all 6 of them and they were hard and crispy and not very nice Service was very slow and I had to clear the finished plates away myself as there were no staff around In addition I was overcharged by £6. When I should have had Friday special Not the best atmosphere for a night out

Lawnswood is our local we have had many great nights here but last few months it’s changed and we decided to go elsewhere we decided to try it again as under new management upon our arrival at 7.30 we were told all tables were reserved I said what the pub is empty we wanted food we were told the tables are reserved for the pub quiz at 9 what ! It’s 7.30 tables were reserved for 8.30 - 9 we were told you can eat as long as your gone before table is reserved so all empty tables in restaurant area at 7.30 till 8.45 reserved for a £1 a game quiz unbelievable we spent £36 pound clock watching to get out for a reserved table so so disappointed needs to be re addressed in my opinion dining for food should not be reserved for quizzes !

Cheap and cheerful 😊. Food was nice, the service was good, value for money, family friendly. They serve Lilly's cider which is SO good!!! Especially the apple and pear! Only downside is that everything was a little sticky, but NOT unclean (tables, menus etc.)

Service and atmosphere was ok, but the food was not. The meatballs in my mac 'n' cheese tasted like rubber and had no flavor. The rest was okay, and the chicken fillets were good. What a shame!

Very poor the food wasn't very good the sausage on my meal was hard it had obviously been reheated. We had a lasagne this hadn't got much taste. We had a child seat for my grandaughter there were three available and all had not been cleaned properly.the overall cleanliness of the pub was poor.we shall not be visiting again.

We can appreciate that the pub was a little busy but when we arranged to hold our wake here we didn't expect to have to wait as long as we did for the food to be brought out ,especially as it had been arranged for over a week ago. And given the reason for us booking we would have thought that a reasonable time to wait would have been acceptable and given that it was for 15 people we had asked for the food to be ready for 1.15 PM but for it to not arrive until around 2-2.30 was unacceptable and unprofessional as well as embarrassing for us in front of our guests

Food and staff are brilliant all staff members are polite and know how to have a good laugh been a few times with my family and friends and every time I come the food is always spot on!

Poor Service received. Desserts order refused at 8.55pm when food is served until 9pm. Drinks included as part of meal deal also refused as not ordered at the same time as food.

After years of coming here and having lovely meals and greeted by friendly staff our last visit was terrible. No-one on the bar when we went in. We eventually managed to order some drinks but the worst was to come. When we ordered our meals, after an hour of waiting I asked the only member of staff serving, why were people who had ordered food after us getting their food first. Only to be told that it was on the system and we would get it when it was ready! His attitude fell well below good customer service. Strangely enough, after asking where our food had got to, it miraculously appeared within minutes. We went elsewhere for coffee as the machine was broken. In my opinion it's not the only thing that needs looking at. We will not be going back there.

Absolutely terrible experience, arrived at 17.30 after confirming with head office that we wanted a dog friendly area 3 times, we were told on arrival that it's a head office problem and were left while they served other people until they told us a table we could sit at, although there were no other people in that area so we could have been seated immediately. We ordered food and after an hour I went to the bar to ask how long it would be, there was no one at the bar but I saw someone in the kitchen so indicated that I wanted to talk to someone. One of the chefs came out and before I spoke was really aggressive and swore at me and carried on several times being aggressive. This is nothing I have experienced in all our time off eating out around the world. The deputy manager experienced all of this and was really apologetic and handled the situation really well, but overall the worst experience I have had dinning out.

Very disappointing. Veg hard and cold , chicken , ham and leek pie soggy. Will not be going in a hurry .

We always have a decent meal at the Lawnswood. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the food is good and reasonably priced. It's always well worth supporting a local pub over a chain. I'll be back :)

Friendly pub serving standard everyday faire The staff are pleasant and efficient which is a plus as is the regular number of ales that rotate every few weeks. The previous Manager Samantha set a very high standard for her staff which paid dividends with increased numbers frequenting the place. If the replace Dam With someone as good then that will be brilliant if they don’t then it could impact on future business

Really nice semi rural pub, loved the dogs inside the pub and the overall atmosphere. Was a very good all round pub attracting ages of all. The food we had was good and the service was friendly. They also saved my bacon when I left my work bag (with laptop) there, they had found it and kept it safe for us to collect the next day. Will return when back in the area.

Saturday night. Very busy. Food good. 2 x steaks and a chicken dish all well prepared and served efficiently. Got to mention the beer. Wainwrights bitter was as clear as a bell and in excellent condition. Well done. Like the pub very much as have bar area t.v.s pool table etc. Then eating areas. This really works as if busy you can eat anywhere and a big plus you can bring the dog in. Well done again the Lawnswood.

Very friendly staff at bar. We're not so used to British ales, they offered us a taste before ordering. Also ordered some food, came fast and very tasty.

The meal was literally a child's portion total joke. About 6 chips and 6 peices of tiny scampi ! I'm still starving ! only gave it a 2 because I drink here and its a ok pub else it was definitely a 1 star

Its ok. Plenty of parking, disabled access. Service was ok. Unfortunately not that clean, a lot of food on the floor had to walk over it to get to a table, which could have done with a clean. I would not eat there. Only had one drink and left.

Great selection of ales and plenty of options on the food menu. Recommend the Fish and Chips. Quickly delivered to the table and nice and hot. Will definitely return when the football is on at the weekend. Great friendly team 😊
