Yes, this is your typical JD Wetherspoons establishment, so if you have visited any of the chains other pubs you know what you are getting. As usual, this is a large pub/restaurant, so there is plenty of space and tables. The day we visited, we had no problems getting a table. Using their app was quick and easy, with the food being served to us within a very short time. Piping hot and for pub food was delicious. Great value as always with JD Wetherspoons, and this ticked all the boxes so well worth a stop if you are in Stourbridge.

Really nice food at a reasonable price with friendly staff.

Big pub, nice atmosphere, cheap and wide range of drinks and clean toilets. Couldn't rate on the food as the kitchens unfortunately was closed

Dull and unfriendly Monday 10th June 630 ish. Young lady behind bar struggled to utter a word. 2 meals ordered peri chicken and lemon chicken, stone cold , returned to cook. Foul language heard from managers during banter exchange with cook. I was with my 13 year old daughter. Totally unimpressed, we live in Oldbury, stopped useing Court of request for the same reasons. So decided for a change, let's try Stourbridge. Ha well the nature it seems is indemic to Spoons. God help them.

Too cheap, did 6 double Whiskeys in an hour, absolutely lethal.

Food was awful glaze on chicken was like wallpaper paste tasted like it I know it's not cordon bleu standard but half chicken still had lungs stuck inside ribs, that should have been picked up at processing point before it even arrived at restaurant. Chicken over microwaved supposed to be finished on chargrilled no evidence.Bar drinks no fruit garnish (lemon,)no choice of gin just Gordon's, real ale flat ! Not the best experience

Had a couple of coffees and my friend had a lemonade. Beautiful view, friendly staff and incredibly cheap

Never again, my sisters steak came undercooked, chips and onion rings were burnt on all meals (oil change) steak sauce came in the boat it was microwaved in.. will certainly renew our after swim venue. Service was standard as you'd expect for a spoons but steak club certainly could have been better.

Food was excellent, more whale and chips than fish and struggled to finish it all. Great wetherspoons with a big room and variety of tables to suit people just drinking or dining. Small smoking area to the side and pavement seating in front. Great little wetherspoons with all the choice of food and drink you'd expect, cooked to a good quality

Crackin breakfast, everything was hot on the plate even the bacon excellent, best breakfast I've ever had in a wetherspoons. The staff who served me were really polite

It filled a 30 minute wait with a quick cheap drink. Wouldnt eat here as always lukewarm

Number of staff members varies. Food could be served on hot plates. Menu is getting very boring. Service is usually good .

Staff don't listen and get drink orders wrong, but it seems getting it wrong and not caring or putting it right is common place and not restricted to spoons. we even had to wipe the table ourselves this evening

Double burger with chips well burger was rubbish and think they had run out of chips there were 10 on the plate, will not eat there again

Had a good time overall, staff often made mistakes with which sauces we ordered but gave us the correct ones as soon as we asked

It was very busy and only one girl delivering the meals out meals were standing quite a while on the hatch waiting to be brought to the table the chips were not very warm tbf...

Standard Wetherspoons - better than some and worse than others. Staff are always friendly. Foods normally good. Decent pints and selection.

Pleasant staff, the food was the same as you get at most wetherspoons and the pub was reasonably busy with a nice atmosphere. It does take a while for food to arrive when it's a bit busier

Drinks often take quite a while to come to the table, but that's it.

I came in on my own to have a drink as I was waiting for a lift and I as I came in I was welcomed by the lady behind the bar and she had a chat with me as I was waiting for my drink very nice lady

A traditional old family pub situated at the beginning of Stourbridge High Street. It has an enormous lounge with quite an impressive central island bar, although the interior decor is starting to show its age . The service is fast and efficient, more than other Wetherspoon pubs that I have been to. So, it is still is a good experience, worth going to at least once to know.

1st visit Good quick bite. Nice large room needs a little TLC but all ok. 2nd visit Popped in again just for a couple of drinks was a bit quieter this time as after 2.30. cheap drinks and pleasant staff member serving so all good.

It is good, the fish and chips is very good so probably everything else in terms of food should be good. The service is extremely helpful but burocratic, which in some ways is not good for a pub because it should be human., not clinical.

Great set up in here with the island bar and the abundance of windows makes for a bright and airy experience. All staff very friendly and helpful. Despite a limited choice of guest cask ales the Exmoor Gold was A# 👍🏻

We just had a drink, a really great spoons.

I find that in my opinion the chequers is not as good as it was ever since the new manager a lady known as Siobhan took over. She’s very abrupt and got no hospitality towards her customers. She’s loud and bossy . Iv been a customer there for years and go in most days. The atmosphere is awful . Friday the 9th of February there was nearly an empty pub and it’s been like that fora while. An incident occurred where a customer was threatened and nothing was done the staff didn’t ask him to leave . When the customer told Siobhan she said what do you want me to do a F——-g about it. And I know this is what was said as the person who was threatened was my brother. I thought weatherspoons was a safe place. 😖

I've had a bad one here before thought I'd give em another chance how wrong was l could count the beans on one hand and cold two eggs very snotty not cooked on top mushroom was nice sausage dry best thing was refillable tea..I know its cheap but I left most of it on my plate

I’d avoid and head to one of the other similar places nearby. I arrived at around 11am with two kids looking for a bit of brunch after swimming. Ordered on the app fine, but our 3 small breakfasts and hot drinks. First issue was having t queue for a coffee for nearly 10 mins because one machine was out of service, and the food didn’t come for over 30 minutes. When it did arrive, the food was cold, but the plates boiling, indicating it had been sitting on the hot plate waiting to be collected for ages. Clearly the issue here is front of house. When the food arrived, we were offered a meagre and rushed ‘thanks for waiting’, and not given cutlery. Don’t get me wrong, I know it’s a Spoons and I don’t expect anything above the most basic service, but this was poor. A number of other recent reviews have said the same thing, so clearly the place is long-term, if not permanently, understaffed.

Good value for money and the service was great.

Visited this pub with my family today and we waited over 40 minutes for our food and when it arrived one of the burgers was burnt and missing the bacon. We sat near to the kitchen serving area I noticed food sat on the server for a good 10/15 minutes before plates were completed to be sent to tables. I noticed and could hear a female member of staff (I presume a manager as she was dressed differently to the others) shouting at staff in an unfriendly manner. When our food arrived it looked like the child’s jacket potato had fallen out with the large plate it was on and the few beans barely made it a meal! The only meal that looked half decent was the children’s nuggets and chips!!! The ultimate burger was the one that was like burnt cardboard thrown on a plate as if the person preparing it didn’t care, how whoever served that thought it was presentable needs to be retrained on how good should be served, in no way was it fit for human consumption! It was also missing the bacon that should have been on it. I highlighted it as quickly as I could to a male member of staff who was very apologetic and said they would sort another burger for me. I could not fault this male member of staff as he was very understanding and sorted the issue straight away however it should never have come to a customer in that condition.

Typical Wetherspoons, has everything you would expect, food/drink etc. Toilets are upstairs but does have a disabled toilet downstairs.

The service was awful and staff were rude. I ordered drinks via the app which had taken 40 mins to arrive. Personally the pub isn’t very well run.

I think this pub needs a new manger to run the pub, because the one the pub as got now shuv is down right disrespectful to staff and customers the pub may busy but she treats ever one in the pub like dirt on the bottom of you shoe I hope JD wetherspoons dose something about this and its amazing why most of the staff have changed I wonder why, she shouts at customers from across the bar and staff the ticket was mainly all on red this wasn't like that before when Charlotte was managing the bar only when shuv came on did it all got to sh#t, if you chat to the regulars like I did there not happy with shuv and her customer service she is single handly going to keep bring the pub reception down to the point it shuts I would start asking customers what they think and look at why all the staff left in the first place, food was delivered way before our drinks the food was perfect service off bar staff and floor staff great up untill shuv came in.

Beer available on the app but when you come to order it ... its gone. Happened a number of times now

The most miserable staff I’ve ever encountered, slow service, incorrect orders, food left standing at the service station under heat lamps for over 15 minutes for old not to even come out all at once. The two women behind the bar never broke a smile and the waiters made a very good job of making it look like they were busy but actually just ignoring the service bell. Also refused to put an allergy notice to the kitchen. Won’t be returning in a hurry.

Truly a 5 Star pub! Good prices Clean Spacious but can also hold a lot of groups of friends in their own spaces, while having the choice to mingle with other strangers/groups if they want. The best setup in my opinion.

Although a bit noisy when we arrived @10.30am ish but it soon went quiet when a group of men left, We enjoyed our breakfast as always was quick to arrive and all hot although I would have preferred fresh made toast as it had obviously been sat for a while but I'll request that next time we return

Manager CONNOR RUDE, unprofessional, arrogant and clearly has a problem with his eyes as he just gives daggers every few minutes … 10/10 wouldn’t recommend him. Floor staff (females) lovely and female manager was okay but appears her hands were tied as it was battle of the managers … PS don’t ask for RED wine because you will get WHITE from CONNOR Cocktails are from a can/carton and if doesn’t taste right that’s “not their problem” … save your money and spend it elsewhere

Nice building, plenty of space, easy, anonymous, reliable, comforting. Food is average quality, but cheap. Drinks are cheap. Really good deals and much more affordable than anywhere else. Vegan options available.

had large breakfast, had 1 mushroom on the plate just slightly bigger than a 50p piece.... for god sakes weatherspoons just take mushrooms off the menu if you are just put 1 on a plate... just well council.

It's a Weatherspoons, you mostly get what you expect. I find the food is better at the Merry Hill 'Spoons, but the drink is obviously OK. Toilets half a mile away upstairs, as usual.

Not dog friendly, not even allowed to sit outside their premises with my 16 week old puppy. Thankfully, when turned away, we found somewhere a lot better who were dog friendly and very attentive.

This place is technically fine if you're on a super tight budget as it is cheap by most standards. But the beer is definitely watered down and just isn't worth it.

Absolutely disgusting the way they treat people with mental health issues - they refused my emotional support/assistance dog although other Wetherspoons have been happy to have her

One of the nicest Wetherspoons I have been to. Lovely friendly atmosphere. The staff were all hard working, but a particular thank you to Beth. It was really busy and she was working alone on the bar for a time, but went out of her way to be friendly, while working really hard to serve everyone as quickly and efficiently as possible. I have worked a bar and know how hard it is to please everyone when it is busy, but thumbs up to Beth, she is a treasure for any management to keep hold of.

We had a beautiful meal, wife had the gourmet steak, I had the lasagne both meals were beautiful. For the price which includes a drink- excellent value for money and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Definitely will be returning.

Typical Weatherspoons, quality beer for amazingly cheap prices. Food looked decent but we didn't eat. Place was big and open and seemed to loose some atmosphere.

I visit daily And with grown family The staff are helpful and cheerful The food is variable but if mentioned to the staff the problem usually rectified The best dish is the steak which is always cooked to my liking,without exception The pub is unpretentious and meets many people’s needs Kevin, a server, is a very personable young man He’s fitted in well But now pulls a great pint of ale 👍 The staff and management are focused My visits, solo, or with family are always enjoyable Ps might there be some black sparklers for the ales? Happy days

Occasional lack of staff slows down taking orders. Service is generally quick, food is of a good quality and is very good value. Especially with one of the clubs. Otherwise nothing to complain about at all. I am always happy to take a chance on a Weatherspoons pub and I am rarely disappointed.

Nice food and serene environment

MrDW was excited to be here as he frequented this place in his youth, before it was Wetherspoons. 1st visit we had the breakfast & a drink for just over £11, very impressive prices! We sat by the window in the sunshine. I was puzzled to see a couple of kids walk in, take out their books, & get stuck into their studies. Not a problem, but tell me Timbo, is this a new thing? 2nd visit we had the breakfast again. As we sat there an elderly woman approached & asked if anyone was sitting on the 3rd stool of our table. We were leaving but didn’t intend to leave so suddenly. I felt we were pushed out as she clambered upon her stool, began to chat like we were old muckers, & she told us that it was her table. I suspect we got lucky the last twice, & those window seats are like gold dust. 3rd visit & it was absolutely heaving. I wouldn’t have bothered, but MrDW had already ordered. We had the breakfasts, again. MrDW’s a feeder & got me the black pudding as an extra. As you can see it was full of hard unchewable lumps, & it surprisingly came with a very tiny side salad. There only appeared to be one young girl working, she did check to see if the food was OK but she’d gone before I could say anything. Like I said, it was very busy.
