My friend and I have lunch here every Monday. It is friendly and comfortable. The food is always freshly prepared and generous. I have dietary issues and the staff bc always make an effort to prepare something I can eat! Thank you 🙏

Not bad but coffees and cakes are a bit pricey. They do do a good event catering service though - salads and cakes were excellent and all done on time - so service is very good.

Very disappointed lots of empty tables in dog free part only one table and high bench tables for eating with dogs! Not what I would call dog friendly!!! Don't want my dog obviously doesn't want my money! Went somewhere else!.

I think charging nearly £4 for one slice of toast is taking the Mickey . The staff took our orders and completely mucked up the toast supply gave bacon with granary and white with a small marmite and butter. Luckily I 'm not vegetarian or I would have sent it back. Personally I would not have given the service charge on top of what we were charged however my husband paid before I knew how much we had been charged.

Seemed to be very busy, service was a bit slow. Had toast with “melted” butter, surely on a hot day butter should be kept in the fridge? Container which held all the sauces needed cleaning . Not sure that I would go again

Breakfast was good but imo very over priced £13.50 for 1no.sliced toast, 1no. Pot of beans, 3no. Mushrooms, 1no. Hash brown, 1no. fried egg, 1no. Tomatoes and a small pot marmalade. In their defence it was a vegetarian substitute for the meat breakfast but either should have had a lot more or be charged significantly cheaper. Staff however were very friendly and there was free low basic wifi.

We love the Summer cafe, coffee hits the spot every time. We took our daughter out for Mother’s Day, cracking brunch everything freshly cooked and delicious and they do the kids food so nicely. Nothing is too much trouble! Staff are just brilliant, friendly and efficient. Great choices for gluten free too! Just discovered their Granola bars which taste amazing!!

Not a lot to say about this place really as our lunch was so disappointing. We had a hot dog that tasted like one of those kids birthday party hotdogs. Utterly made without any love. Or ingredients and a stodgie roll. The other was the New Yorker Sourdough Toastie. Firstly, both salads on both plates should not have been served. Salad was past its best. Cucumber and lettuce yellowing and brown on the edges. No dressing, and chopped as it was going to be served to a horse! Coleslaw tasted mouldy. Toasted sourdough was tasteless, doughie and ‘toast’ not toast, just popped in the toaster to dry the outside. Two cups of tea in nice crockery but the taste of dishwasher salt on the cups made the tea undrinkable. Staff were nice so we didn’t complain but we definitely won’t be back!

We love the Summer Cafe and go fairly regularly with our young family. We were there today with our toddler who accidentally spilled her drink everywhere (including on her food). The staff were amazing, replacing her drink and her food and not batting an eyelid. We helped to clean up but they were so kind and calm, insisting we didn't have to. Thank you so much for a lovely lunch and making us so welcome.

I had lunch here with a friend. It's a lovely cafe, with a decent menu. The staff were friendly & helpful. We had the turkey & halloumi wraps. These were delicious & came with fries & salad. We enjoyed these. However, I feel that at £14.95 they were somewhat more expensive than other sandwiches & fries & don't understand why. I would definitely go back, bit choose something that I feel to be better value for money.

I have always enjoyed going to summer cafe for breakfast. However, for a change we went for lunch. As always the coffee was great! Sadly, lunch was more than disappointing. My partners chips came out very cold. My chips had been forgotten about. Also, the toastie was awful, there was 1 bit of bacon cut into two which was 50% fat. I did ask for this be sorted as the bread (which admittedly is gluten free and we all know what it’s like) was a half soggy piece….photo attached of none eaten “toastie” which was the replacement. We had to laugh about it because it was pretty poor. Sadly not a firm favourite anymore :(

I want to start off by saying we strongly recommend a visit to this cafe! we visited the delightful town of malmesbury during our family trip to Wiltshire this September and came across this beautiful cafe. It was Saturday 9th I believe and as it was a Saturday it was quite busy but we managed to get a table for the four of us (table 3 I believe but I might be mistaken). The food we ordered was wonderful and didn’t take too long, despite it being busy! Overall I have all nice things to say about this cafe! My only complaint, which I hope will be reviewed by a manager, is the young girl, (with short brown hair and a football top), who took our order at the table. She appeared to be busy and it looked like it was her doing all the orders so we were happy to wait and she was polite when taking our order but there were quite a few occasions where she was playing on her phone or not around the cafe’s seating area for a long period of time when we wanted to order extra drinks. But we were able to ignore as we thoroughly enjoyed our food but what made this review 3 stars rather than 5 was hearing her swearing and complaining about other customers in the cafe to others which seemed quite unprofessional and took us all back a bit. She seemed very young but I do wonder why she thought it was appropriate to swear about customers in front of other customers or at all for that matter. But despite this, we do strongly recommended a visit to this cafe, the food was extraordinary and the rest of the staff were wonderfully accommodating and friendly throughout our visit.

Nice variety menu which is a bit pricey but we had two freshly made sandwiches which came with side salad and crisps. Tea and coffee tasty and hot. Facilities very clean and staff friendly. Till to pay was a long way from where we were sitting. I certainly wouldn’t surprised if they haven’t had the odd “walk off” giving no staff around and the door wide open which you pass to get to the till in the takeaway area which is tucked away at the back.

We turned up for coffee 25 minutes before they were due to close, I was told I would have to have it in a paper cup. Then the coffee machine didn't work and the lady would use the other one as it had been cleaned for closing. She clearly didn't want us there and was irritated that we had come in. Unfriendly service. Hopefully it will be better next time we visit.

We ordered coffee and.were told that it would be brought to the table when it was done. After a long wait, I went to check on what might have happened to it, only to find it sitting on the counter getting cold whilst three members of staff stood behind the counter chatting with each other. If we’d been told to come and get it in a five minutes we would have done that, but to leave it to get cold and appear uninterested was frustrating.

Well we visited mid March and almost waited until summer to be served. It was rammed with unsuspecting tourists in the main as the rain had settled in. The café was apparently staffed by student age group without a clue about service. Four wandering around socialising between themselves behind the counter and one taking orders, eventually. There was no order in which the tables were served and our wait was approximately 35 minutes. Our server was clearly annoyed that we reminded her that we had arrived some 25 minutes before her friends once the high pitched greetings between them had subsided. who she attempted to serve ahead of us, plus 20 for our small meals to arrive...... Cold. Tactically Tea and Coffee appeared to be served immediately so a refresh was needed by the time your food actually arrived. The other tactic was that every table rocked so badly that most of ones drink spilled into the saucer so needed refreshing even quicker. I was asked did I want milk in my 'mint tea' which I declined. Once we had mastered linking arms with those next to us in order to eat, given that there were far to many seats/tables presumably procured from charity or thrift shops given their variety and condition, we then had to go back to the counter and pay. we were now back to the four malingering teens avoiding every attempt to serve someone. Having to actually pay for the long wait, dreadful service, poor cold food, we then waited another 10 minutes for one of the four to actually take our money. As for giving a tip, I could give them a list. In conclusions, unless you want to punish yourself and throw time and money away, avoid this place like the plague!!!!

When ours did arrive, the hot latte was in a glass and too hot to hold, so we wrapped it in a napkin.Breakfast arrived and the toast wasn’t even browned , the beans were luke warm. The rest was okay, but certainly not as good as it used to be.

New menu same great welcome! Better than ever! Newly extended premises by far the best in Malmesbury! Great choice of cakes too! Yummy!

Really lovely place nice to see independence in a High Street. Really lovely food and staff are very friendly and helpful. Perfect size meals and lots of choice. Costs were reasonable.

Having ate here before and had a good time I thought it would be good for a birthday meal for 4 on a Monday lunch time how disappointing it was. 2 Steak & Stiton pies ordered although very tasty lacked Stiton and was meant to be served with veg we had to ask for the veg which when it arrived after several minutes the excuse was we only have 2 microwaves not the excuse I wanted, the other 2 meals were fine, unfortunately we will not go back.

We visited on a Sunday for breakfast. Arriving a couple of minutes after 10am (opening time), we queued for a table and then again to order food. There were plenty of tables but appreciated it was busy - not all tables were full. We waited for 50 minutes for our food to arrive, although coffee arrived much earlier. This was prompted by us asking where our food was/checking the order had been made, to which we were told ‘we’d just have to wait because it was busy’. The food arrived 5 minutes later. The food was tasty and we’ve no complaints about the quality or price. But, something about the system here just doesn’t make sense, queuing at every point and then waiting another 50 minutes for scrambled eggs on toast and a bacon sandwich, doesn’t make sense. We arrived at 10 and didn’t leave until 12:15…. People had started arriving for lunch! Sadly, we’d not return. There are just other places nearby that are doing it better.

We booked a table for the opening party, the pub opened earlier in the week with new staff and owners.

The location of this establishment is strange because the shop/restaurant sits within what is essentially a business park in the middle of nowhere but it is not hard to find. The setting was ideal for a summer lunch with lots of variously covered areas to shelter from the sun or rain if it happens. Then you realise that all these covered areas are, in fact, the restaurant! I saw no evidence of indoor seating. The main seating area is fundamentally a plastic marquee attached to a shop unit and all the seats are picnic benches. They have an interesting menu, which changes regularly I understand, and it is obvious that this establishment is not trying be a full all ‘singing and dancing’ restaurant and they do make that clear. It uses locally sourced quality produce for Deli style light meals, specifically lunches, and also snacks. The people running it are personable, welcoming and efficient. We found them very helpful and attentive and the food was delicious. Overall, the food menu is a little overpriced I feel but not excessive. That said, a few dishes do seem “over the top’ for what they are. It is the shop where the prices are eyewatering expensive and I think they have gone too far. I can here them now saying that they are supporting local suppliers and that this comes at a cost but times are hard and I do truly believe they, or their suppliers, need to face reality as the pricing is far too high. We need to support businesses like this but they have to respond too! Did I enjoy my meal? Yes, fantastic, Would I go again? Yes, definitely! Would I encourage you to go? Yes definitely! I just warn you that your visit will be enjoyable but not cheap so be prepared.

Great evening! It did not disappoint! The black rock fillet steaks were amazing. The young waitresses were both lovely, always smiling & nothing was too much trouble for them. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and we all enjoyed the evening. We would highly recommend a visit here!
