The Steak Barn at Old Down in South Gloucestershire

Habíamos reservado para un té de la tarde de Navidad y después de mantenernos esperando más de media hora para nuestra mesa, nos sentaron en una mesa sucia sin nada en absoluto. 20 minutos más tarde, finalmente nos sirvieron un té de la tarde muy mediocre, comida y servicio de muy mala calidad y muy caro para lo que obtuvimos, si no hubiéramos pagado por adelantado, no habría pagado

Visited for my mums 75th birthday made very welcome by friendly team food was fresh and well cooked belly pork in particular was amazing great time had by all 11 of us thank you x

On alighting from our vehicle in the car park it was a bit discerning to find the roadway gate padlocked. This meant having to try and push the pram through the narrow gap at the side travelling over what appeared to look like a thick black electric cable. Not a good first impression !! However the afternoon tea served up was most enjoyable. Slightly disappointed to have to come out of the barn into the pouring rain to use an toilet terrapin sited in the yard. The two fires burning looked so nice and welcoming but sad to say the building needs more than that to make it ‘comfortable’ to be dining in. Soon realised on our arrival why most other diners were sat with their coats on, we also found it rather uncomfortably chilly. Would consider returning but would choose my day according to the weather. Here’s hoping my remarks are taken in good faith and used to turn a business into a terrific one.

A top restaurant serving absolutely amazing food! I cannot believe we haven’t eaten here before. This place is our new favourite! The restaurant itself is a renovated barn within the grounds of old down country park. The restaurant has loads of character with beams, slate flooring and a log burner. It was all lit up with candles, fairy lights and soft music playing in the background. The service was great, very polite and friendly waitress who was able to tell us more about the place and the food. We had scotch egg and scallops to start followed by the fillet steak and swordfish. It was all absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. There wasn’t anything we could fault at all. Highly recommend this place and it is definitely worth a visit, you will not be disappointed!

Fui allí para el almuerzo del domingo, el carvary era hermoso, habló con el chef que no podía hacer más por nosotros, fue realmente bueno, en realidad fuimos a las 3 pm sentados como el 12 y el 1. 30 reservas estaban llenas, la comida era excelente, sin embargo, las papas eran como si estuvieran cocinadas para las 12 en punto, lo cual estaba bien, pero no tan bueno como el resto de la comida, si fuera solo la comida, este lugar casi obtendría un puntaje un 5 estrellas, pero no fue así, la música fue la especia de las chicas durante toda la comida, bastante fuerte, no sé qué clientela están buscando, y luego el personal se sentó con nosotros para almorzar cuando había un café al lado puerta en la que podrían haberse sentado, la comida era excelente, pero otras cosas les decepcionaron H
