Just had tea and thought we would try out the new bar but used the take away . Everything was cooked to order and when hubbie came home with 2 large fish and chips and peas , I was impressed . The batter was mainly good but some really spongy parts where it wasn’t cooked . There were 4 bones in my husbands fish and I found 2 before stopping eating . I know the odd one can be in but I’ve not found a bone in my fish and chips for years . I wasn’t over impressed with the taste of the fish and as a pescatarian , I eat a lot . Overall disappointed tonight but chips and peas were good .

After hearing there was a New fish and chip restaurant and takeaway in Swinton I thought I would give it ago I have to say it was faultless the fish was as fresh as you will find anywhere the staff were friendly and very helpful and the restaurant was spotless If you are in the area I would highly recommend you pay a visit you will not be disappointed

Was very impressed with the carvery and the service. We had the pie which was very tasty, the beef was cooked perfectly. The price for pensioners is excellent value. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return and have advised family and friends to pay a visit.

We live a few minutes walk from the Station Pub, & took note they have a carvery on a Wednesday & Sunday. So yesterday Wednesday 24 October 2018 I & my wife decided to try the carvery. On entering the pub we were given a warm friendly welcome, I ordered drinks & 2 senior meals, & found a table. We went up to the carvery & met the lady chef, who gave us a warm welcome. On offer was Turkey, Ham or Steak & kidney pie, after the chef served the meat you helped yourself to, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, mashed & roast potatoes, mushy peas, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots, green beans, parsnips, & swede. The food was excellent, we really enjoyed the meal, washed down with a few pints of beer. Prices - Wednesday carvery served 4 - 7 pm Adults 6 pounds 50 pence Seniors & Children 4 pounds 50 pence Prices - Sunday carvery served 12 noon to 4 pm Adults 7 pounds 95 pence Seniors & Children 4 pounds 95 pence Desserts at 3 pounds 50 pence Childrens ice cream portion at 1 pound 50 pence They also do pre-booked Afternoon Teas, Stag / Hen party breakfasts, Function room on first floor, with buffets available. We really enjoyed our visit to the Station pub, & will be back.

Called in for a carvery and what a choice for a Wednesday evening. The food looked great and tasted even better. The staff were warm and welcoming and I was able to enjoy the free WiFi after eating while I finished my drink. Great price for what you get. highly recommended

Food is brilliant, one of best carvery's I've ever had. Myself & my wife also my parents, have it regular. The pub it's self is excellent, warm welcome always,the staff are so friendly & you get a top pint. Worth a visit.

We've been to both the Sunday carvery and the midweek carvery as two adults and a teenager. I have to say that the meat and potato pie on the midweek visit was one of the best pies I've ever had. The Sunday carvery was just as good, with a choice of lovely cooked meat, fresh vegetables, yorkshire puddings and stuffing. The staff are friendly and approachable.

My experience at The Swinton was enjoyable for a whole host of reasons. Firstly and most importantly as a sufferer of OCD it was important my dining area was clean, i was pleased to notice quick clearing from staff, what was most surprising was how cheerful the two bartenders were on such a gloomy day aha. The food is great, but the overall experience is exemplary.

been today and the food was terrible got there 1.15 so its not late there were 3 of us firstly felt insulted by being refered to as an oldie and my ticket said senior .then the food 1 of us wanted beef what a mistake it wasn't rare it was raw a good 3 inch up from bottem it wasdripping blood it was inedible yorky puds ice cold and burnt all meat turkey and pork had a funny taste like it had been reheated several times plus it was cold only thing that tasted ok was parsnip and cauliflower cheese and they were just warm its the worst meal ever wont be going again we have been several times before and it was lovely but since july its gone downhill fast absolutely terrible yuck

Had a Sunday carvery today with my two sons, lovly homemade food with really welcoming & friendly bar staff.

Go regularly for Sunday lunch and now they do a carvery on a Wednesday 4-7pm. Me and my son have been two Wednesdays on the trot and it is just as excellent as it is on a Sunday. Fresh roast meat, homemade yorkshires, roast potatoes and parsnips, 5 different veg and 2 times of mash. The gravy is superb and it's excellent value. Recommended!!!

Meat was great for a Carvery but veg was cold and hard and had to wait 25 mins before we could go up and eat

Have visited this pub quite a few times now and I love it. Always made to feel welcome and the Sunday lunch is excellent. Was even lent money for a taxi one night!! It's improving all the time and new landlady and staff are working wonders with the place. Great stop off from train too.!!

7 of us went without booking and the young ladly behind the bar very quickly sorted us a table out. There was a choice of 3 meats, homemade Yorkshire puddings plus stuffing balls. Roast potatoes and parsnips with the following veg: mushy peas, cauliflower cheese, green beans and carrots together and broccoli and cabbage together. The gravy is gorgeous and the plates are a decent size. Excellent value for money. This was our second visit (2 of our party had been again since the first visit and advised to go early). Can't speak for what it is like at 3pm but great value for money when we went at 1pm. Was also a lot busier so maybe they've got their eye in now and it is taking off

The staff were welcoming, we decided to try the carvery, it was warm, could have been warmer, the sauces were not covered up and flies were in the near vicinity, but I enjoyed it, will call again.

I have to say we’v tried the station many times to support local business when taken over, but never have we had an experience such as today, Sunday carvery advertised 12/4 we went in at 3pm, paid £7-50 per head there was 4 of us, happy to pay £3-10 x2 for a pint of coke no problem we are out for lunch, lager fine no problem, the problem started when viewing the food, the lad that was serving when my husband asked ........ puddings are burnt are there any more coming out ? No he said & ye they are burnt arn’t they ???? Any way we carried on plating up dried, cold, old & very unappetising food, we sat giving benefit of doubt & started eating it, o dear the chef over heard me saying pubs are now providing a service where you can bring your own plates, she said we can do that ......... at this stage of the meal I replied no I don’t think so, iv never heard such abusive fowl mouthed language from a member of staff we were quite prepared to cut our losses & never return, but my hubby insisted we had a full apology (& at one stage she was so angry she told us to shut the f..k up ........really ....... my advice if you are advertising a Sunday meal 12/4 then the food should be just as good at 3-30 ...... 3-45 if not reduce the price & explain to the customer not try & sell it as fresh food that was obviously put out at 12 & should hopefully last while 4 because lack of customers & for loud mouth foul mouth kitchen person you are certainly not doing the person that is trying hard to serve our community a much welcomed service, we came at that time not because we were idle getting up as you so aggressively put it late!!! we came because that was the service you were offering & when youv worked as many hours as my husband has over nearly 60years & is still & is & always supports local businesses you lady are a disgrace, it pained us to insist on a refund, I’m not going to say don’t try, give it a try & support but hopefully lesson learned today that lady needs to be either removed or lessons in customer service ........... you’v certainly let the side down

Got stranded at the train station during the extremely heavy snow I had my partner, my 9yr old and a 7 month old and there was not taxis as 3 we had tried to book was cancelled and we struggled to get a new one. It was about 9.30pm and we asked if we could stay there with the young ones until we got a new taxi and the young guy was very friendly. Quiet atmosphere, was nice chilled pub. Pub has pool table, only serve food on Sunday’s also.

Hoy fue nuestra primera visita aquí y nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos por la chica en el bar. Teníamos la opción de asados como nuestra comida y no nos decepcionó. La comida estaba bien preparada y caliente. Mi pareja realmente disfrutamos de la Yorkshire, que son los budines caseros. Esta no será la única visita que planeamos para probar el menú normal de al lado.

Visited for carvery, all food cold, meat cold, dry and tasteless. Worst carvery we have ever been to. Shocking service too. Really was a waste of time and money. Had two mouthfuls and left. Staff pre occupied with a event upstairs.

Caminar en el pub, que abrumados por el delicioso aroma de la cena asado. Sólo teníamos que probar!!! No nos decepcionó, el asado del domingo era deliciosa, la carne era tan sabrosa, se derretía en su boca, y sorpresa, sorpresa, PUD DE YORKSHIRE!!!! Sin duda volveremos. El personal del bar era muy acogedor.

Now under new management We went for mothers day had 3 course sunday lunch at £9.95 homemade soup, carvery lunch with a choice of 3 meats then sponge and custard it was amazing well done to the new team

Visitamos el miércoles a mediodía y era agradable y tranquilo. Las buenas opciones del menú y cada comida era recién preparado, bien servido, caliente y sabrosa. El personal es muy atento y servicial. Las comidas que sirve de moda en losas de pizarra, excepto las ( por supuesto ) chips FABULOSAS con curry, casera y tan sabroso me hubiera encantado con un plato lleno de ellos! Bien satisfecho y no hay espacio para el postre me temo. Otra vez quizás. Aparentemente hacen un asador más tarde en el día y los fines de semana y son populares.

Nice food nice warmly staff,value for money best roast beef I've had and tasted just a little tip need more choice of desserts otherwise loved it.
