The Station Tavern in Cambridge

We arrived at Cambridge station, it was time to eat and have something to drink and we really couldn't choose a better place. All the food was very delicious and the attention of the staff was impeccable. If we add to all this an excellent decoration and a fantastic atmosphere, the experience has been very pleasant, we will repeat without hesitation.

Stylish pub with a great atmosphere. Perfect place for a drink after work. Great beer selection and great service. Ruben took fantastic care of us. We’ll definitely be back.

Arrival in Cambridge for tourism and pleasant surprise, next to the Station. Very cozy place, typical English pub and a Fish and Chips that I had never tried in the UK. Highly recommended 👍

I came here yesterday just to pop in for a drink and a light bite before my train and was instantly hooked with the decorations and atmosphere! Absolutely loved the coziness of the place and the staff were so attentive the whole time. I was served by a young lady called Caitlin and she really went above and beyond to make feel welcome in Cambridge! Thank you Station Tavern! Will be returning!

This place is the only place I’ve been back to for a Sunday dinner in Cambridge, food excellent, staff friendly & helpful especially Hanna who is first class and would be at home at the ritz so helpful and polite

Nice modern bar with funky vibes, good selection of beers and friendly service from the young lady serving on a Wednesday night. Great place to chill especially if you have just had your train delayed as normal. I left here feeling relaxed and ready to travel onwards again.

Only had a pint of Young's special £5-55. Did not eat here.

The food was delicious and our server, Kay, was so helpful and went above and beyond with everything we asked for. She was so friendly and made our experience even better.

Third time eating here, third time blown away by how good it is. The menu is terrific. Interesting, innovative, the flavours and the cooking are top notch - some old favs appear from time to time but always with a lovely - and often unusual - twist. Great wine list, well priced and, again, interesting and innovative - we had a terrific assyrtiko today as an example. Yes, I know it's becoming more popular and widely available but it's still not often in pubs. Staff are always fabu. Helpful and friendly but a little overworked as they were thin on the ground when we first got there and the pub was busy. Prices are sooo good for the standard of food you get. And, I love this, no service charge automatically added to the bill (we did tip of course, as the service was impeccable). The lemon steamed sponge with the hazelnut tuile and lemon curd is one of the most delicious puds my friend and I have ever eaten - and we've eaten a fair few! I'm aware I'm writing an essay here - anyway. Decor is also fab, welcoming and cosy and a great eclectic mix. Well done, Station Tavern. Don't ever change 💖

Chill vibe and v helpful staffs

It's a nice bar BUT.. £7 for a cider?! No wonder pubs are dying as that's a complete joke. Literally cheaper in an airport.

The wait staff are completely incompetent. The food just bloody sat under the stinking heat lamp after the chef rang the bell twice… this all whilst the idiotic staff refilled ketchup and mayo.. service absolutely stinks. Would avoid at all costs

We had a lovely time at Station Tavern! It was a mini school reunion lunch, which lasted from 12.30 until 5pm! The young girl who served us was lovely, attentive and informative, and fun! I should add we are all in our 80th year, which goes some way to explaining the low number!

I have been to this INN on several occasions over the past 18 months, I live in Lincolnshire, and Cambridge is a good meeting place that is half way between me and friends from years gone by. We went again on Monday, and young Kay asked if I could do a review, which I am delighted to do. It wasn't until we were on the verges of leaving I realised she was the same assistant who had dealt with me on my very first time! Anyway, each time I have been, the waiting staff are always excellent, always so polite and will do anything for you. I love the real ale there and the food is outstanding, although I have only ever had the Tavern burger! Ha! Ha! but the guests I have been with, have always had something different. it is a varied menu for meat and vegitarian eaters! For the fact it is right by the station, it is very reasonably priced for both food and drink. I have, as I say been here several times, with guests from several places, Australia, and Austria being the furthest! I fully recommennd the facilities, the food, and especially the service, I must admit, I have only ever been at lunchtimes, but I can only assume it is just as good in the evenings! I am back there again on the 26th of September....No doubt a tavern burger and a pint of real ale! Ha! Ha! Gold stars all round!

Being our local we always visit on a Sunday for the best roast in Cambridge, staff are lovely and always greet with a smile especially Kay!! Everything on the menu is very good so credit to the chefs. Would highly recommend to visit

First visit here. Called in for a pint of ale after a nice day out in the city. A lovely welcome from the lady doing table service and the beer was in top condition. A nice choice was to be had and I stayed for a couple more. A lovely laid back atmosphere and l must say the air conditioning was really welcome on a rather warm day. All the staff were really friendly which I don't always find. Would thoroughly recommend and I will certainly visit again.

I had a fantastic experience with you - had come from Highcliffe near Bournemouth on the train for a day out in Cambridge and had a lovely refreshing drink from the bar -I sat outside I took my glass back to the bar and Jasmine took it from me - My power bank had failed and my mobile had completely ran out of charge - she took my power bank to the office and charged it for me and checked it was then charging my phone- had it not done she even offered to charge my mobile itself - Jasmine was an absolute Angel and git me out of a very awkward situation- will DEFINITELY call back next time I come to Cambridge- well done - fab service and lovely pub with a great attitude- Jasmine , I will but you a drink next time I come in ! x

Worst meal ever in Cambridge. Decided to stop in after our train journey before going home so that we wouldn’t have to deal with cooking. Place was not crowded and servers were friendly, but it took a full half-hour before our food arrived (that’s with no appetizers). My husband ordered Fish-n-Chips with haddock. It was not good, almost tough. The mushy peas were the most disgusting shade of dark green, probably the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen served on a plate. I ordered the roast chicken - it came out with one small (think pigeon-sized) leg and two small bits of dark meat chicken. I’m not talking small slices, I literally mean 2 small little bits. It was so unacceptable that I asked the server to take it back and give me an actual serving of chicken. But c’mon, the fact that I even had to ask!! Finally got a few more pieces of white meat. The gravy that came with was so salty that I was still tasting it several hours later, even after brushing my teeth several times. We ordered a side of broccoli and cheese, it was broccoli served in what I could only describe as cheese-colored water. No melt or texture at all. Obviously there was zero quality control coming from the kitchen. I rarely bother with a review but this meal was so bad, they should have paid US for getting through it. Wish we had just stopped at one of the many food trucks outside of the station and gotten a meal to take home instead.

Got served by a gent called Dan, called have asked for better service. A great host and delivered a cracking experience for us.

Awful food, battered fish was rock hard, tiny tiny bit of fish in thick crusty impenetrable batter. 'Crispy' chicken, not crispy and very bland But decent service, nice ambience, good location

The outdoor seating is a good place for a drink if you need to spend a bit of time in the area before the train arrives. I just did an Aperol spritz. Note: they won't run a tab for drinks, so you need to pay immediately.

Reserved a table (easy online). Service was quick and polite and the meal was good. An easy place to eat.

A very very busy place, lots of tables were booked when we arrived at 5pm, we found a space and enjoyed very good food and very good drinks, fast and friendly service, the bar staff and waiting staff seem to know what they are doing.

I came a few months ago and left a review which complained about the service. I returned today and I can only say how much it has improved since I was here last. The food was delicious too so I would now consider this for a client meeting

Very crowded and busy very very few staff waited 40 mins for awful overpriced food. Would not recommend this place and felt sorry for the poor overworked staff.

Very close to station. Lovely clean & tidy place. Ordered the Full English Breakfast x2. Had a bit of a wait and they slightly mixed our order up. However very good food when it arrived. Very good choice of real ales too. Would go back again / recommend.

Booked for a large table and had a great evening. The decor is fab and well thought out. Service was brilliant, friendly, and attentive! Only critiques would be that our chairs, while very comfortable, were impossibly heavy to move so getting up and down was a faf. The bread board was disappointing, but the other dishes looked good. Would recommend for an event - great that you don’t have to use the private room for a big dinner. Thanks!

Beautiful food, great selection of beers. We went to station tavern for breakfast and instead we stayed for a few drinks before doing some sightseeing in Cambridge. The waitress was super friendly and wasn’t at all put out by all of our questions about where to go and what to do. The place looks brand new, plants everywhere and a cool looking cocktail list. I’ll certainly come back if I’m ever in Cambridge again!!

Went for a stag do because we stayed in the hotel above. Brilliant selection of beers, accommodating barmen, lots of people coming and going, a big breakfast that is good quality and came to the table nice and fast. Bloke with long hair and glasses was funny, good banter with him.

We booked the side room (The Sidings I believe?) for an all day meeting package, we were met with fresh pastries and unlimited coffee (which was essential), the room was perfect for us and the team were perfectly attentive without being intrusive - so we never waiting for any items or service. The lunch we selected was hot, delivered quickly and looked brilliant, the food was interesting and delicious, good portion size and the menu had something for everyone. I will absolutely be returning at other times of the day, the pub has a brilliant feel to it and a real buzz of a lunchtime and after work time, it was like being in a quality pub that clearly has a good customer base.

Full bar, wines, spirits, draught beers and cocktails. Order your food at the bar. Lots of comfortable sofas and chairs around. Place has always been spotless whenever I have visited. Food is good and the team onsite are helpful, friendly and quick.

I love the cocktails here - especially the passionfruit martini - for food the camembert is also super yummy. Staff are always really friendly and helpful and place has a lovely atmosphere.

Came in for a meal with my partner as we arrived in Cambridge. I have to say, I was seriously impressed - the waitress we had was perfectly attentive, appeared immediately whenever we thought we might need something. The food was amazing! Prices weren’t crazy but it’s not a cheap meal, but I think the value for money was on the nose. Probably the best burger I’ve ever had, and the beef stew my partner had was phenomenal as well. I had a couple of beers (great range) and she had a couple of cocktails (she said they were amazing). Generally, a great visit, walked in without too much fuss and I loved the whole experience. Well done!

I had the breakfast, it was busy and I could see the staff working super hard to stay on top of everything. Staff was friendly and food was good, took some time to come to us but everyone in the place was eating so I did not mind. I saw a woman being very angry and rude to the staff, I think because it is at train station people are stressed for time, it’s fresh food, it takes time, go to greggs if you are rushing, go here if you like nice food.

An all-too-brief visit on Friday evening before catching a train - very comfortable seating, great music, good choice of gins, lovely fish and chips, really helpful and efficient server Louis - we’ll be back!

I really enjoy visiting this pub, service, which is often direcf to the table, is excellent. Today, my wife and myself enjoyed a straightforward lunch. Our waitress- Joanna - was very attentive and provided a high level of customer service. Will visit again, very soon.

The service provided by Kay and Melissa was excellent. The Haddock and Fries and the Belly Pork were good. However the portions of the Beef Sunday Lunch were very small and rather mean.

Such a lovely pub - really cosy atmosphere , staff are all so welcoming and service was great. The food was really good as well and the drinks were top notch. 100% worth a visit.

Absolutely gorgeous venue. Plenty of dishes (really recommend the roasts) and drinks to suit anyone and everyone. Amazing service from all of the bar and floor staff. I come here quite often as it’s close to the station and every time I do visit I always feel well looked after, couldn’t ask for better service. Station tavern is definitely the place to go!!

Very nice place when you looking for chilled drinks and nice atmosphere. Super cozy place and nice leather chairs. Plenty of place for sitting, but can get very busy in evenings and weekends. Lovely bar staff. And they have really good choice of draught beers.

Beer range is good, non alcoholic beers too. Nice looking place and good staff. Great location and it was nice to be in a bar that seemed like it was for adults, no teenagers running about like in most bars.

I occasionally work remotely from Station Tavern and take advantage of their remote work deal (unlimited hot drinks + brunch for £15). Today, our server Cameron went above and beyond with service and proactively looked after us. Usually we have to flag down staff to order more drinks etc and it was great not having to do this while working. Great spot to catch a pre/post train drink in but also a good place to work remotely from with good WiFi and chilled music.

I can't remember which date it was but was here from the 1st to the 5th of February me n a friend came in for a drink......when the drinks arrived we didn't realise at first but there was something white inside my friend drink.....when I gave the drink back to the bartender, she was really rude by not saying anything at all when I reported it to her. She gave me a new drink but not a sorry or even a reaction.....it seem to me she knew it was in there when she gave the drink but didn't do anything about it. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤔

i came to station tavern just for a quick drink on my way to town. All the staff seemed lovely. Lily made some excellent recommendations so I tried their burger which I highly recommend. 5* - i’ll definitely be going again :)

Full English breakfast was very nice, service was very good, not too expensive for the quality and location, food and drinks came quickly. Place looks nice and it clean. I would recommend.

I was actually pleasantly surprised when I visited as I have never been here but was attending a meet up. It's welcoming,comfortable and clean inside. Coffee wasn't great but staff friendly and comfy chairs. Would go back.

As always, a brilliant Sunday lunch at the Station Tavern with impeccable and friendly service. The roast beef was exceptionally good quality meat - and the Yorkshire pudding is unbeatable!
