A nice boozer with decent beers but ruined by allowing people to book a table. You’re prioritising people not in the pub over those who already are. Stop doing it

Love the Pizza and the atmosphere! The best thing about this place however is how dog friendly they are! I love being able to bring my pup with me when I go out to dinner. Bonus points!

Really fantastic place, was the final stop of a petersfield run of pubs. We had no preconceptions of the place as we aren't from the area. Really great tap lineup, great staff members and really friendly and welcoming vibe in the place. Will recommend and visit when I come back. 5/5

The Blue Moon is a lovely place for drinks or a pizza with friends. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, it frequently hosts interesting events like D&D or quiz nights, and there is a wide variety of drinks on offer. If you're looking for a fun, off-beat place to spend an evening I would heartily recommend it.

I had a great time here, with a fantastic selection of spirits (get the salted caramel rum 😁) and really friendly staff Pizzas are great too

Love this place, first pub I came to in Cambridge and still my favourite by far 10 years later. Great variety of events, craft beer and spirits, and fantastic pizzas from Oscar’s. Staff are consistently lovely and work hard to make the pub a welcoming and safe place for everyone. If you only visit one pub in Cambridge then make it the Blue Moon!

Terrible experience, treated horribly by staff and manager was drunk on shift

Manager kicked me and a group of friends out for ‘smelling bad’ even though we certainly did not. Manager was also seemingly quite drunk which is really embarrassing and has tainted my view of the Blue Moon. Very poor service which did not back the prices of the drinks served here which could put you out of house and home.

Un gerente borracho se nos acercó del trabajo y nos obligó a irnos porque aparentemente olíamos. Mujer muy grosera y muy claramente borracha, estábamos fuera del pub y se nos acercó de una manera muy agresiva mientras nos insultaba. Un miembro del personal se disculpó por sus acciones, pero no hizo nada para ofrecer una mejor explicación de por qué una mujer borracha nos estaba acosando sin razón y por qué esta mujer supuestamente estaba trabajando mientras estaba bajo la influencia de los efectos del alcohol. No recomiende este lugar ya que los trabajadores borrachos lo acosarán

One of my favourite Cambridge pubs! Lots of great beer to choose from, friendly staff. The pizza by Oscar’s is also really great. Quiz night is on a Wednesday and is my favourite pub quiz in Cambridge! Sophie (the host) is great fun - beware the famous dance-off..!

The team at the Blue Moon are so unbelievably welcoming and accommodating, the pizza's by Oscar are fantastic (all I want for Christmas is that world famous dip on tap) and the beer selection is phenomenal. I had an amazing evening celebrating my birthday, thank you so much to Sophie and the team for making it such a memorable and atmospheric time. Hope you all have a great festive period!

Literally best pizza in Cambridge (it has no right being this good genuinely, but be careful about what you choose as they have some rogue options). Beers rotate regularly and are excellent, plenty to choose and all fresh af. Vibes are great and very inclusive. Loads of events including drag events. Best pub in Cambridge (Cambridge blue has slightly better beer, but the atmosphere is better here)

Quirky little bar in a residential area. Really friendly staff and LGBTQ+ friendly.

Rude staff, shouted at my friend for unknowingly walking round the wrong side of the bar to get to the stage. Poor communication and unwelcoming. Super protentious “graffiti" on the bathroom doors. With quotes like "tip your bartender" next to lazy Keith Haring figures. Dull

Progressive cool queer friendly place with something going on almost every eve. Best pizzas in town on most days.

Great music played from the speakers or from the live band. Respectable beers and quick service. From the outside it may not give the right idea but inside there is the right vibe. The attached pizzeria makes well-stuffed pizza but the base needs to be improved a lot.

Great atmosphere, quality food, and a lot of drink options

Apparently having the kitchen next door doesn't allow you the privilege to place a food order. First time you wait in line to find out you can't just place directlly the order and you've got to use a separate website and pay remotely. Which would be fine if it didn't create a grotesque situation.. Despite trying to place an order, I had issues with payments - meaning I had to start again and go through the process. The system wouldn't make me proceed further for some reasons. I go to speak to staff which tells me the Kitchen is closed. At 21.00 despite on the site says it's open till 21.30. Been standing there 5 metres away trying to work out their system is pointless, you fail as a human and don't deserve to eat. Thank you for nothing, whoever is the clever mind behind this. You had me wasting time finding how the system works on a busy night where the menus and qr codes are displaced and I wouldn't be looking for them as I have no clue this is YOUR system. But the good thing is that I went away without ordering so I saved some money for my food and drinks for the night, and learnt which pub to avoid in the future. Plus had time to write this review to warn you that your system is not infallible (perhaps try to convince the clever mind behind this that tech is great and might be making you look cool but customers are what keep you in the system). Take it as you wish, perhaps as a push to consider those poor idiots who come to your pub for the first time, struggle for whatever reason, and rely on the timings you report on your system to know when the kitchens are open/closing. Surely for me I might think twice in the future before coming back to such an inefficient, sterile and customer careless approach. And btw it was a wednesday, so god knows why you decided to close earlier.

This place makes me excited about having moved from Hackney to Cambridge. The selection of beers available has never been a factor I've noticed before, but this place managed to bring that category to my attention and ace it. Really nice people working there too. What a gem!

I visited the Blue Moon mainly for the legendary pizza, staff were friendly but the kitchen closed 10 min early. There was a live band, but you had to pay £5 and weren't informed it was the last song. The inside is nice, but there are only half a dozen tables. The alternative is to sit in the beer "garden", which is actually a carpark. A literal carpark, as in benches on concrete, you share the space with parked cars and there are signs saying "this carpark is owned by ...". (Nice passive-aggressive response. Won't be coming back. Lockdown ended 3 years ago btw.)

Atmosphere is good. Food is good but not cooked on site. came here as a part of Cambridge beer quarter, venue was advertised as having a live music 7 to 10pm. When tried to enter the music room were advised that ticket is £10pp. Really?? Nothing was mentioned on the website or Cambridge beer quarter website. Very disappointed as planned the evening in advance. Other venues had free entrance as advertised. Be aware of possible charges at the doors

Super friendly staff, really helped me out when I didn't know what to order on tap. The atmosphere was good apart from being sat on as it got busier but it's all part of the fun!

Great pizza and the kitchen went out of their way to make sure our family with severe allergies felt comfortable eating here. The place is very let down by an incredibly rude woman working the bar who was passive aggressive and went out of her way to be rude to small children. So my advice is avoid dining here with kids (who are allowed here before 9 pm) and take your pizza to go somewhere else! UPDATE: WE ASKED AT THE BAR WHAT TIME CHILDREN WERE ALLOWED BEFORE PLACING AN ORDER AND WERE TOLD BY THE MALE STAFF 9 PM! So get your staff up to date if you want to argue with your customers. And I’m happy to provide further insight for “rude woman”. Our kids were picking the wax off a bottle of whiskey used as a candle stick holder to reveal the hidden eagle under the wax. We told them it wasn’t allowed. Our daughter then looked around the room and said “but every other candle has the wax peeled off” so we said sure then ok as long as we pick the wax up after. A woman then came over, took the candle stick from them in a rude swift manor, sweeper wax up, put the candle on the table behind us, lit it (it should be noted next to a candle stick that someone else had picked all the wax off of!! As they had done on every other candle in this establishment), and walked away in a huff. I commented to her they are just kids you know, not based on their behavior but based on how she treated them in the interaction which left them very confused. She said “I like the wax on the bottle” to which we replied then light another candle and it will all come back, but there is no wax on any other bottle here. It was a rude way to treat children, and they were left asking a million questions about the interaction. “Why didn’t she say anything to us? Why is she being so mean? Why didn’t she just ask us to stop?” It completely ruined the mood for them, two tiny people just trying to learn how to interact with an adult world, and who were just on an innocent quest to find an eagle buried under the wax.

Was busy and lively just before the Easter weekend. Dropped in to convene with friends before heading on to our next destination s9 sadly couldn't stay long. great selection of beers, served by friendly helpful and knowledgeable staff the pizzas going past smelt and looked very appetising - wish I could have tried!

One of the tastiest pizzas I've ever eaten. The order was completed very quickly. There are a lot of people, but there is always a place to sit and eat. I will definitely come back there!

Loved watching the live band last night in the music venue at the Blue Moon.

Absolutely fab time. We're not young now but we enjoyed the young vibe. We came here for a music event in the back room but had a few drinks beforehand. Would definitely come again. Very inclusive feel.

Me and my partner came here for the drag night. It was great fun and we thought good value for money considering how long the show went on for. Very welcoming place also and friendly staff. The pizzas were great too. Will definitely be returning!

Famous pub in Cambridge, great variety of beers and gins. Love that. Very friendly staff and the atmosphere is quite fun, usually with concerts and open minded people. Definitely recommend. They also offer pizza, which is really tasty and well made. 5stars

Visited on january 29, server under poured our pints and was visibly irritated when we asked for them to properly filled. Pity as the ales were well kept and the atmosphere was otherwise excellent.

Last Thursday of every month is a brilliant open mic night for poets, musicians and other performers.

No sambuca, which was a disappointment but a great range of ales and beers to choose from, and the staff were friendly enough. Will definitely go back.

Lovely, inclusive, pub with a nice atmosphere and a lovely selection of drinks. The pizzas looked great! Stayed for the quiz, which was great, though maybe the host needs a microphone so they don't have to keep going back and forth between the two rooms!

Got a takeaway pizza from them tonight and it arrived extremely cold. I suggest to eat pizza there which is very good but NO takeaway as it was inedible. Also, i live 5 min from the place so not sure how it got so cold

Delightful! This pub has a huge range of beer, with regular guest takeovers. Oscar's Lockdown Pizza is delicious too! They have a huge range of events, almost every evening, to cater for all interests e.g. D&D, science talks, business, drag comedy and live music. They are Queer friendly and providing a safe space is their mission. This bar is welcoming and you can be sure to chat to lovely humans!

have been told that they have an amazing pizza and being Italian I had to try. I liked very much the dough and the cooking, but I didn't like at all the flavouring. There was none of the traditional Italian ones, not even Margherita, but many weird combinations. The classic pizza is similar to Margherita but with Parmesan and Tyme instead of basil. Why? Just tell me why? I guess that English people like it weird pizzas. Lastly, was a little too small. What a pity, it could have been my new favourite pizza place and instead... I'll stick to my current one. In any case still 4 stars and suggested if you like English style pizzas!

We went there for drinks on a Monday night after a rehearsal. Once it was live music, experimental improvisation, the next time a lovely recorded jazz mix. The staff are really friendly and so were all the customers. Nice relaxed atmosphere and a good range of beers and spirits.

Me and my friend were refused us drinks without a reason and served others and mentioned we were weird looking dodgey and absolute insulted us we feel disgusted and believe it could be racism horrible customer service!

What a nice place for enjoying Beer & Band. When I been there there was a live music going on. Cool variety of craft beer on cask & keg. I just grab my drink enjoy the live music. It was nearly full pack venue. Never forget the chill atmosphere.

Always nice to visit for a tap takeover. Really appreciate that the full pizza menu is available in vegan versions - very tasty too!

Great pub combined with Oscar’s lockdown Pizza which is also excellent. I think it’s the best pizza in Cambridge. It uses quality ingredients with some combinations that you wouldn’t normally see. Cracking pint and pizza what more could you want!
