Thai Green King Trying to review all of the Cambridge pubs therefore entered this pub. It's a Thai menu, what a surprise for a Green King pub. Therefore the rivals are not other pubs at all. As a pub with a Thai menu, it's very different to Giggling Squid nearby. The food was in generous portions. Everything tasted great and flavourful. The sauce for the grilled pork neck was very spicy therefore I didn't dip it. Glad the pork had basic seasoning so I could finish the dish without trouble. The pork was so juicy and tender. A good example that everything in the plate has to have basic seasoning. The pineapple fried rice was tasty but not oily. It has a generous amount of meat inside the rice. Maybe it is not as fancy as Giggling Squid physically. The toilet and restaurant was roomy and clean. I would return to try other things in the menu. The food was so attractive, stylish and unique. It's another Green King pub that I would remember.

It looks like a pub, but it is not. It is a Thai restaurant. Nice place for Thai cuisine. We try different dishes and all were good. Beer is good, and the restaurant is ok decorated. An option if you like Thai.

NOT SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES. NOT GLUTEN FREE / VEGAN We ate here as part of a large group. While an allergy menu was provided, this turned out not to be accurate. Staff did point out some inconsistencies in the menu when asked. Two people in our group ordered gluten free food, and this was confirmed available by the staff. Even though the meals were completely different, the food made both people sick and evidently was not gf at all. Dish ordered as vegan turned up with egg in. Other people in the group did enjoy their food, but I really do not recommend this place to anyone that has allergies or intolerances, or wants vegan food.

Great food, had the King Prawn. Very happy about the portion sizes, served quickly but not too quickly. High quality ingredients, cheap tea! Would recommend to anyone, they have many options available even if seafood is not necessarily your thing.

Dined here in their garden out the back with three friends. Made to feel welcome and accommodated and the food was excellent quality. I felt the food was well priced but the singha pint at 6.75 was a bit steep! All in all, lovely food.

Food arrived cold (via Deliveroo) and the pad Thai smelt so bad as if it had gone off so didn’t risk eating it. The crispy squid was not crispy at all. Massaman was just ok. Won’t be ordering from here again

Allround decent place, but nothing extraordinary. The food is tasty and in decent quantities. Is it mindblowing? No. But perfectly fine for a nice evening eating out.

Not bad, but not great, either. Very much a run-of-the-mill Thai place. The tempura starters are nice. I had one of the curries as a main, which was a bit of a small portion in my opinion.

The food is very good here and the staff are very friendly. I do recommend going to the restaurant in person. But takeaway is another story. The restaurant is unfortunately let down by the attention to detail in handling orders. Over the years I’ve ordered twice via Deliveroo and they’ve messed up the order both times. The first time I ordered a drunken noodle with tofu and they forgot the tofu. Fair enough, they re-delivered the correct order. The second time, just now, I ordered two mains and the delivery only had one main. Again, we re-ordered, but with a 40 minute wait for the re-delivery, we had to eat separately and what was supposed to be a nice meal — a treat after a stressful day— was ruined and made more stressful. It’s just not good enough.

Good location, not to far and not too difficult to find. Friendly, nice, quick service. However the food was ok-ish. I always love Thai foods and would like to try thai foods at different restaurants. Their noodles were tasty but wasn't too impressive. The decor and the atmosphere was interesting, still a good place to chill and have some foods & drinks.

Worst Thai ever. We ordered Pad Kra Pao and they didn’t add any spice at all because we ask to put less spice in another dished. Then when we told to put some spice they brought the soup extra spicy so we couldn’t eat it. We also ordered a Pad Thai and it came with a piece of lemon instead of Lima. Overall expensive for its quality.

Ordered delivery so no idea about service or atmosphere. Ordered pad see Yue and Tom yum soup as a main. Pad see Yue with pork - rice noodles had a nice flavour, but pork slices were overcooked and dry. The meat could have been cooked the day before and used today. Tom yum soup was sour (tamarind) but not spicy at all. Terrible food, much worse than other options like Banh Thai or Sala Thong. To add insult to injury pricing is expensive. Would never eat here again. Pretty sure any Asian who has actually tried Thai food before would agree this isn’t good Thai food at all. Go elsewhere and do not be lured by the supposed “4.7” rating on Deliveroo. Great regrets ordering here!

Tasty food and friendly service.

I ordered via Deliveroo, and was not disappointed! Portion sizes were extremely large for the price, everything was hot and tasted fresh, and it was one of the best panang curries I’ve ever had! Great for vegetarians, as almost every single dish on the menu has an option to be made with either just vegetables, or vegetables and tofu instead of meat. Highly recommend if you’re ever in Cambridge and have a craving for Thai food!

Really good meal. Nice service and quick. We had a range of options, starters and mains and everything was very enjoyable.

It’s not a pub, not what you’d expect from one anyways, and it’s not what you want a Thai restaurant to look like either. Food was not great either I have to say, there is plenty better options in and around Cambridge…the staff was accommodating and friendly, but I think they have had enough poor experiences with a certain clientele that there is little love left for their guests.

We ordered takeaway tonight and the food was very disappointing! The ribs had no meat on it and very dry ! We found very little noodles in one of dishes we ordered! Not great value for what we paid!

Went for lunch. Restaurant was empty. Had some prawn crackers which were tasty and then duck sweet and sour. Came with plain rice. No real taste or seasoning. Really poor. Mate had a pad Thai and again his comment was tasteless. Even Diet Coke was flat!! Will not be going back, ever.

Really not as good as its reputation. Overpriced and lazy cooking I've been going on and off for years but prices rising and quality falling. Much of the food especially starters are frozen/bought in and served with sauce from a bottle. Some carved carrots can't disguise the fact that you're eating food largely lacking in fresh cooking or herbs.

Certainly far from the best Thai restaurant I have visited. Visited on a Thursday evening but only one other table occupied, as such, no atmosphere. Very basic inside, staff were ok, usual menu, and the food was ok, nothing to make me want to go back.

My husband had visited here with work one lunch time and said how good it was, so we went with our friends on Friday evening. It is a real gem of a find. The place itself used to be a pub so it’s set out very simply nothing up market in looks but the food is absolutely delicious. Very traditional Thai food, very authentic. Both of us as couple chose the shared starter, we had the chicken satay and the corn cakes, both were delicious. Our friend had the squid and said it was the best they had ever tasted. We all had different mains and none of us were disappointed. The staff were friendly, you weren’t rushed, prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back.

Great food, great service, can't find a bad thing to say about the place. The mixed starter was lovley. The main course (weeping tiger) was absolutely fantastic.

TLDR: don't come here if you are not from England. I hate to give this review, because it's excellent Thai food. But the owner (or is it the owner's husband?) is absolutely insufferable. We have been there many times, but tonight will be our last. Each time he hands us the bill, he wants to know how much we would like to tip. As we are American, I don't fault some English hearing our accent and trying to take advantage of our culture of tipping. But we have politely declined, and tonight was no exception. Tonight, he decided to pick a fight about it, demanding to know where else in England we have been that didn't expect a tip. I told him "many places", although I should have noted that his wife, who often brings us the bill, has never once asked if we would like to leave a tip. That answer did not satisfy him. He berated us for several minutes, before I asked: Do you demand a tip from all your patrons, or just foreigners? He said he brings this topic up with all his customers. To which I responded: And do they enjoy being berated and pressured to leave to leave a tip? He then had the audacity to say something to the effect of "well you keep coming back" as if our continued presence indicates that we enjoy being bullied. I told him that we may have been there many times in the past, but this would be our last.

This was the first time I had eaten here although my husband has been a number of times. In my opinion the decor could do with an update, however the food did not disappoint we decided to forgo the Thai Prawn Crackers and opt the Mixed Starter for 2 this was enough for a starter and very tasty, I had the Giant King Prawn with Panang Curry and my husband had Crispy Sea Bass with Thai Herbs both were delicious. Everything is cooked to order and although they are dealing with a constant stream of orders for delivery, our wait was not that long. The restaurant wasn’t busy and it was a weekday but I would recommend booking a table if you want to specifically eat here am sure the weekends are busy and noisy so possibly not suitable if you are celebrating something special however, if you are looking for somewhere that’s friendly with good food then you should definitely try here.

Friendly service. Really nice food especially the starters; thai fish cake, spring rolls etc with beautiful carved carrots and really freshly made. Noodles and curries for main good too. Been twice in the last couple of weeks, definitely going back again!

Ordered on deliveroo a pad thai and there were hairs in the food. Super unhygienic. I contacted Deliveroo requesting for a refund as I was not going to eat the food. They told me to contact the restaurant, which I did- apparently for nothing because they were not helpful at all and said they would not refund me. Nor send me a new order. Nor did they apologise.

Have dined here many times but will not visit again. The food has gone downhill especially the stir fry dishes. The egg fried rice is just normal rice with a shot of soy sauce, couldn’t find any egg. The food we ordered came in a haphazard manner, no sense to it and wrong rice brought to the table. To top it all for a party of 3 we were charged a 10% service charge this is not mentioned on the menu. Thai on Regent Street much better quality of food. Avoid

Since this Thai restaurant was conveniently located near our accommodation, we decided to give it a try. We ordered some tom yum soup, prawn toast, papaya salad, green curry, spicy chicken stir fry and phad thai noodles. The food was fine, except the tom yum which tasted a bit unusual, while the service was quite good.

Popped in for some lunch and were greeted with a warm welcome from a great host and enjoyed a lovely Thai curry the "drunken noodles". We enjoyed our food in the quiet, cosy back garden and overall had a very nice experience. Would recommend and come again.

Our family visit was marred by a miserable failure to get our meal on time some of us had well finished our meal whilst others in our group still had eaten not a scrap! The chaos & lack of communication between kitchen & waiting staff was mystifying & the landlord was suddenly unavailable when I paid the bill.This pub needs new management urgently!

The food is fabulous, the staff are very friendly. It's clean and nicely decorated- plus there's a very nice garden to sit out in at this time of year. Top place to go for dinner!

My wife is Thai so we’ve tried all the restaurants in the area. She reckons that the best Thai food in Cambridge is to be had at the Cricketers. Certainly it’s better value than most and the service is generally friendly and helpful. There’s a nice courtyard garden for a sly, sunny drink, too.

We booked a table for 5 people (3 adults 2 children) we arrived at 5.30pm just half an hour after the restaurant opened at 5pm. Drinks and mains orders were taken promptly but boy was it slow in arriving!!! It took nearly 40 minutes before the starters even arrived- and we got there early, before the crowd!! The rice was also cold!! The food was good but nothing special- it’s the lacklustre service that really put me off. The waitress was half asleep - when I said goodbye to her she barely looked at me. Such excellent service- NOT The deco too was dated and unloved- we even saw cobwebs on the lamps😬 Needless to say we won’t go there again!!
