Good location, not to far and not too difficult to find. Friendly, nice, quick service. However the food was ok-ish. I always love Thai foods and would like to try thai foods at different restaurants. Their noodles were tasty but wasn't too impressive. The decor and the atmosphere was interesting, still a good place to chill and have some foods & drinks.

Worst Thai ever. We ordered Pad Kra Pao and they didn’t add any spice at all because we ask to put less spice in another dished. Then when we told to put some spice they brought the soup extra spicy so we couldn’t eat it. We also ordered a Pad Thai and it came with a piece of lemon instead of Lima. Overall expensive for its quality.

Ordered delivery so no idea about service or atmosphere. Ordered pad see Yue and Tom yum soup as a main. Pad see Yue with pork - rice noodles had a nice flavour, but pork slices were overcooked and dry. The meat could have been cooked the day before and used today. Tom yum soup was sour (tamarind) but not spicy at all. Terrible food, much worse than other options like Banh Thai or Sala Thong. To add insult to injury pricing is expensive. Would never eat here again. Pretty sure any Asian who has actually tried Thai food before would agree this isn’t good Thai food at all. Go elsewhere and do not be lured by the supposed “4.7” rating on Deliveroo. Great regrets ordering here!

Tasty food and friendly service.

I ordered via Deliveroo, and was not disappointed! Portion sizes were extremely large for the price, everything was hot and tasted fresh, and it was one of the best panang curries I’ve ever had! Great for vegetarians, as almost every single dish on the menu has an option to be made with either just vegetables, or vegetables and tofu instead of meat. Highly recommend if you’re ever in Cambridge and have a craving for Thai food!

It’s not a pub, not what you’d expect from one anyways, and it’s not what you want a Thai restaurant to look like either. Food was not great either I have to say, there is plenty better options in and around Cambridge…the staff was accommodating and friendly, but I think they have had enough poor experiences with a certain clientele that there is little love left for their guests.

We ordered takeaway tonight and the food was very disappointing! The ribs had no meat on it and very dry ! We found very little noodles in one of dishes we ordered! Not great value for what we paid!

Went for lunch. Restaurant was empty. Had some prawn crackers which were tasty and then duck sweet and sour. Came with plain rice. No real taste or seasoning. Really poor. Mate had a pad Thai and again his comment was tasteless. Even Diet Coke was flat!! Will not be going back, ever.

I have been going to this place for food for many years and was never disappointed. My favourite Thai restaurant in Cambridge.

Really not as good as its reputation. Overpriced and lazy cooking I've been going on and off for years but prices rising and quality falling. Much of the food especially starters are frozen/bought in and served with sauce from a bottle. Some carved carrots can't disguise the fact that you're eating food largely lacking in fresh cooking or herbs.

Certainly far from the best Thai restaurant I have visited. Visited on a Thursday evening but only one other table occupied, as such, no atmosphere. Very basic inside, staff were ok, usual menu, and the food was ok, nothing to make me want to go back.

We go to this place every couple of weeks as it is conveniently placed but we love it for the tasty food and friendliness of the staff. We always feel welcome and it's a classic now for our family.

My husband had visited here with work one lunch time and said how good it was, so we went with our friends on Friday evening. It is a real gem of a find. The place itself used to be a pub so it’s set out very simply nothing up market in looks but the food is absolutely delicious. Very traditional Thai food, very authentic. Both of us as couple chose the shared starter, we had the chicken satay and the corn cakes, both were delicious. Our friend had the squid and said it was the best they had ever tasted. We all had different mains and none of us were disappointed. The staff were friendly, you weren’t rushed, prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back.

Great food, great service, can't find a bad thing to say about the place. The mixed starter was lovley. The main course (weeping tiger) was absolutely fantastic.

TLDR: don't come here if you are not from England. I hate to give this review, because it's excellent Thai food. But the owner (or is it the owner's husband?) is absolutely insufferable. We have been there many times, but tonight will be our last. Each time he hands us the bill, he wants to know how much we would like to tip. As we are American, I don't fault some English hearing our accent and trying to take advantage of our culture of tipping. But we have politely declined, and tonight was no exception. Tonight, he decided to pick a fight about it, demanding to know where else in England we have been that didn't expect a tip. I told him "many places", although I should have noted that his wife, who often brings us the bill, has never once asked if we would like to leave a tip. That answer did not satisfy him. He berated us for several minutes, before I asked: Do you demand a tip from all your patrons, or just foreigners? He said he brings this topic up with all his customers. To which I responded: And do they enjoy being berated and pressured to leave to leave a tip? He then had the audacity to say something to the effect of "well you keep coming back" as if our continued presence indicates that we enjoy being bullied. I told him that we may have been there many times in the past, but this would be our last.

This was the first time I had eaten here although my husband has been a number of times. In my opinion the decor could do with an update, however the food did not disappoint we decided to forgo the Thai Prawn Crackers and opt the Mixed Starter for 2 this was enough for a starter and very tasty, I had the Giant King Prawn with Panang Curry and my husband had Crispy Sea Bass with Thai Herbs both were delicious. Everything is cooked to order and although they are dealing with a constant stream of orders for delivery, our wait was not that long. The restaurant wasn’t busy and it was a weekday but I would recommend booking a table if you want to specifically eat here am sure the weekends are busy and noisy so possibly not suitable if you are celebrating something special however, if you are looking for somewhere that’s friendly with good food then you should definitely try here.

Food was amazing from the Thai restaurant. The beef was cooked perfectly, and so tender. Cocktail was delicious. Overall, would highly recommend. Staff were very friendly, and it’s a nice simple restaurant.

Friendly service. Really nice food especially the starters; thai fish cake, spring rolls etc with beautiful carved carrots and really freshly made. Noodles and curries for main good too. Been twice in the last couple of weeks, definitely going back again!

Ordered on deliveroo a pad thai and there were hairs in the food. Super unhygienic. I contacted Deliveroo requesting for a refund as I was not going to eat the food. They told me to contact the restaurant, which I did- apparently for nothing because they were not helpful at all and said they would not refund me. Nor send me a new order. Nor did they apologise.

Have dined here many times but will not visit again. The food has gone downhill especially the stir fry dishes. The egg fried rice is just normal rice with a shot of soy sauce, couldn’t find any egg. The food we ordered came in a haphazard manner, no sense to it and wrong rice brought to the table. To top it all for a party of 3 we were charged a 10% service charge this is not mentioned on the menu. Thai on Regent Street much better quality of food. Avoid

Since this Thai restaurant was conveniently located near our accommodation, we decided to give it a try. We ordered some tom yum soup, prawn toast, papaya salad, green curry, spicy chicken stir fry and phad thai noodles. The food was fine, except the tom yum which tasted a bit unusual, while the service was quite good.

Popped in for some lunch and were greeted with a warm welcome from a great host and enjoyed a lovely Thai curry the "drunken noodles". We enjoyed our food in the quiet, cosy back garden and overall had a very nice experience. Would recommend and come again.

Our family visit was marred by a miserable failure to get our meal on time some of us had well finished our meal whilst others in our group still had eaten not a scrap! The chaos & lack of communication between kitchen & waiting staff was mystifying & the landlord was suddenly unavailable when I paid the bill.This pub needs new management urgently!

The food is fabulous, the staff are very friendly. It's clean and nicely decorated- plus there's a very nice garden to sit out in at this time of year. Top place to go for dinner!

My wife is Thai so we’ve tried all the restaurants in the area. She reckons that the best Thai food in Cambridge is to be had at the Cricketers. Certainly it’s better value than most and the service is generally friendly and helpful. There’s a nice courtyard garden for a sly, sunny drink, too.

Lovely outdoor seating in the garden in the back. The food was delicious. I especially loved the pad thai.

We booked a table for 5 people (3 adults 2 children) we arrived at 5.30pm just half an hour after the restaurant opened at 5pm. Drinks and mains orders were taken promptly but boy was it slow in arriving!!! It took nearly 40 minutes before the starters even arrived- and we got there early, before the crowd!! The rice was also cold!! The food was good but nothing special- it’s the lacklustre service that really put me off. The waitress was half asleep - when I said goodbye to her she barely looked at me. Such excellent service- NOT The deco too was dated and unloved- we even saw cobwebs on the lamps😬 Needless to say we won’t go there again!!

I’ve eaten here several times, and had a number of takeaways, usually very good. This evening was a disaster, rice cold and crusty, food Luke warm and a dish with pork instead of chicken. To add insult to injury both main course dishes were barely half a container.

We came to Luk Thai when we visited Cambridge just before lockdown. So good to return to this beautiful city and to have another great meal at Luk Thai. The food was again of a very high standard. Really enjoyed the duck spring rolls and the Thai green curry with jasmine rice. The staff are very efficient and accommodating. Everything was spot on! The cocktails are a new addition to the menu to get the evening off to a great start. Good times!

We have been here a few times but on this occasion it was for mums birthday. Have to say disappointed. The starters where lovely but drunken noodles came out all cut up other than that it was fine. Main criticism was the staff member who cleared up before we where finished, then came over and took the glasses and stood there whilst I finished my drink. Then was asked ‘ you want the bill’ well no we’d like a dessert? We don’t have desserts... ok well can we have coffee? Which was met with a blank expression then saying bill!! Then proceeded to take the money and go over to group of guys pointed at our table saying they are going now!! Really sad as never felt so unwelcome. Normally really good and really like the owner we spent nearly £100 in there ....!

Had a takeaway this evening, the papaya Salad was delicious, very fresh and fragrant. The pad kra poa (beef) was very tasty, however the meat was really chewy and tough. My partner had the pork Siam, again very tasty and delicious flavours but the meat was very tough. I would understand if it was a cheap takeaway but when your paying £14 a dish I would ideally like slightly better quality meat. They were very busy and honest about that when we ordered, they also gave my partner a free pint whilst he was waiting, so the staff are very friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is the meat quality.

Qué maravilloso restaurante tailandés escondido entre la pieza de Grafton y Parkers. Nunca supimos que existía y nos topamos con él por accidente. Menú para el almuerzo con una buena relación calidad-precio y un excelente menú completo. Grandes sabores y grandes gustos. Logramos conseguir una mesa de jardín y eso realmente completó el ambiente. Pad ka Pao pollo para mí, mi esposa tenía el curry rojo de marisco, ambos deliciosos y abundantes. Bien vale la pena buscarlo para encontrarlo.

Whenever I'm in Cambridge I always head to the Cricketers for my favourite red curry with duck and the best thing about it is that everytime it tastes the same, always great! The inside of the restaurant is pretty and the stuff is very nice!

Delivery food is very inconsistent. One week delicious, next week same dish was bland and tasteless.

A great Thai restaurant and take away. Today collected a take away and it was amazing :) but have eaten in the restaurant before and the take away food is of the same high standard. The ingredients are always fresh and the good is always taste so good.

No condiments and herbs in holy Thai basil dish. Only chilli and unpeeled and spotty garlic. Food is very greasy and oily. Can tell that they use meat from Iceland.!! Rubbery and gummy taste. Awful. Other than that, high content of MSG and flavour enhancers and sickly fish sauce and soy sauce. Curry paste is from jars, and partial cooked some dishes. Kitchen isn’t clean. Cheap ingredients but pricey price. Ripped off!!

What an amazing place. This is the best Thai food I have ever eaten. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here and would heartily recommend this restaurant. It’s very low key, comfortable and understated; the food speaks for itself. Wonderfully fresh and tasty. Great service too with very friendly staff. And extremely reasonably priced for such high quality dishes. The duck spring rolls were hot and crispy, packed with meat and accompanied by a lovely dipping sauce. The green curry was fabulous. A great experience.

The food in this pub/restaurant is superb - we had the honey duck, the beef massaman, the beef stir fry with oyster sauce and the Penang curry, and all were faultless. The service is friendly and welcoming, and jugs of water are supplied without complaint.However - and for us it was a big problem - the acoustics in the place are terrible. We sat in the large back room and by the time all the tables were full we could barely hear each other across our own table. The walls are high and all surfaces are hard, and it is deafening. Simply some curtains or wall-hangings would help enormously. In short, if you are at all hard of hearing, or softly spoken, or simply don't want to hear all about how the people on the neighbouring table got tattoos earlier in the day (seriously), then avoid this place on busy evenings. For our part, we shall stick to weekday lunchtimes and hope for fewer visitors.I am sorry to mark this restaurant down as the food is fantastic, but eating out is about more than the food and we found it an unpleasant experience - and indeed we were going to have dessert and coffee but left early rather than stay and shout at each other.

Why "shut your eyes"? Simply because this is the most authentic Thai food We have experienced in England.We had 2 visits in a week to the Cricketers which is tucked away from the main roads near Parkers Piece. We tried a range of dishes, all of which had a true Thai flavour and taste. We would recommend the Issan Somtham, the pork ribs, Thai pork, duck curry and the mixed platter starter. We thoroughly recommend a visit to the Cricketers when you are next in Cambridge.A tip if you are driving, park in the Adam and Eve Street carpark. It is the closest and never full.

Charming little restaurant nestled in between some side roads and pathways in central Cambridge, The Cricketers offers a really relaxed, casual vibe in the front part of the restaurant, with seating for bigger tables at the side and further back.The service is fairly prompt and our waiter and waitress were smiley and looked happy.Crispy chilli squid and prawn tempura to start (note: one starter plate of squid could be enough to share between two). Both plates were really nicely cooked and the batter was pretty decent.The Honey Duck though.... man. That was to die for. Served on grilled pineapple with salad leaves and rice, the duck itself was cool perfectly, with the fat rendered crispy while the meat was tender. Absolutely will be ordering that dish again next time!The waiter did seem to forget that we were waiting for the bill at the end but other than that I’m the whole experience was pretty good!:)

Have been here a few times and never had a bad meal. The food is always cooked to perfection with beautiful flavours and outstanding presentation. Chilli squid is a firm fav of ours and we always try something new from the menu which has lots of choice. Friendly family run restaurant who always make time for a chat can’t recommend this little gem enough, try and u won’t be disappointed.

A little wait for the food to come out but tasted great. Staff were friendly. We didn't book and still managed to get a table for 4 on Saturday night. Reasonable prices. Would go again. Update: Visited again (Jan 2020), vegetarian options only. Ordered veg spring rolls and vegetable yellow curry. Couldn't see any veg options on the chef's special menu but there are stir fries, pad thai and other vegetable curries to choose from (including a few starters and soup). Excellent service, food was nice. Spring rolls were lacking a little flavour compared to the ones I had previous but were crisp and tasty with the sauce. Yellow curry was packed full of flavour, a little spicier then expected but really tasty. Vegetables in the curry included peppers, potatoes, broccoli, pak choi, onions and carrots.

Thoroughly enoyed the chillie crispy squid and sea bass curry and pleased to meet the manageress. We were recommended this Thai in apub and it certainly lived up to the praise.

We love our thai food and have to say that was the best Thai we have ever had. The mixed starters was full of flavour and not greasy. My sea bass main had so much flavour and my partner loved her curry. We would be tempted to come back to Cambridge just to eat here again

Anyone who has eaten at the cricketers knows the quality of the food is outstanding . It’s Tasty and full of flavour using the best prices of meat. But I absolutely recommend you try a delivery.. I have had quiet a few now and live a good 3/4 miles from the restaurant and the food turns up hot and fresh like I live next door (Thankyou to all the Deliveroo drivers ) even in rush hour ..

My friends and I went to the Cricketers last Friday evening and had a great night. I've lived in Thailand for 10 years and this is the best food I've tasted in a Cambridge restaurant/pub. Lovely to meet the owners Noi and Jeremy and thank you to you, and to all of your service staff for amazing service and hospitality.

The food is so tasty that we try to have lunch here every 2 weeks or at least every month. The service and ambiance are both very pleasant. Its location, an old pub the Cricketers, is tucked away behind the Grafton Centre amongst 19th century architecture. The food is exceptional - freshly cooked authentic Thai dishes that excite our taste buds! We recommend the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. Lunch is exceptionally good value.

Came here with my partner during our trip to Cambridge. It’s tucked away but worth finding as the food was delicious! I had the squid starter (which was recommended by the owner sat at the next table) and the yellow curry with juicy prawns. Both were lovely, really tasty. Good service and great to have Singha on draught!

Quite a delight to visit this charming and unpretentious pub that does brilliant Thai food. Tucked away in the back streets of Cambridge just north of Parker's Piece, you will not find a more relaxed atmosphere or helpful and friendly staff. I recommend the Crispy Sea-bass, but so many items on the menu will delight you. This perfect blend of two cultures, Thai restaurant and British Pub, is a gem to be cherished.

The restaurant says its a pub but the setting of the room we were in was more restaurant than pub which was great as that was what we were looking for. The service and the food was great and the best thai we have had on our trip so far. We had a properly prepared slow cooked beef Massaman curry and chicken, garlic and chilli stirfry both with great flavours. Would definitely come back.
