The landlord of this pub is a rude and aggressive bully. I understand that you may employ a system where only one customer can order in a round, but there is a way of communicating with people that isn’t belligerent and not in keeping with the spirit of good customer service. I would highly recommend you don’t waste your time, effort and money by visiting this establishment that is run by a man who clearly doesn’t know how to speak to people with even a basic level of politeness.

I ordered a bowl of chips as I wasn’t very hungry. I was served a small bowl of cold grey scraps. Couldn’t call them chips. Brother in law ordered chips with chilli. He said it was disgusting and couldn’t eat it. His grandson fished out the chips to eat with ketchup. My sister enjoyed her burger but again the chips were disgusting. I did comment to the waiter but no one seemed to care.

We have been visiting Filey for years we always enjoy going in the station great drinks and prices staff go out of therewayto make you welcome and always treats for our dog Frank great entertainment all added to a special weekend can’t wait to return

Great atmosphere, great landlord and great beer - what more could you need?

We booked a table to watch the rugby league, and 6 meals. We had various items that were all fantastic. Scampi , Gammon, calamari, chicken wings. And a good choice of drinks.

We visited when on holiday and were made very welcome including the dog. The food was very good and the service was excellent

Terrible , frightening experience . If you are a decent law abiding human being and wish to be in the company of other decent law abiding people AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT AT ALL COSTS. Or visit at your peril as this disgusting aggressive bullying landlord is definitely in danger of doing some serious harm to any unsuspecting families / individuals in the near future. As other reviewers have said he is a nasty man with a sidekick of strange bullies ready to pounce on you if you look the wrong way or he doesn’t like your face. We are a family of mum dad mother in law and daughter. We booked a table for dinner . ( although on walking in the bar staff and landlord were using crude language but I bit my tongue as thought well we are away from the bar). We sat and again I wasn’t impressed by the crowd or the venue as looks shabby and bar staff look scary . Anyway my husband and daughter went to the bar and within five minutes the landlord was squaring up to my husband as my husband had told him someone was before him when he went to serve him . He shouted I will decide who I serve and then went on to come from behind the bar wanting to fight my husband. Squaring up also to my daughter in front of the whole pub. My 77 year old mum was in shock . We all were . We had just arrived in Filey . Not had a drink and never ever witnessed such violent aggression . This so called landlord wants stopping before someone gets really hurt . We were followed outside by him still threatening and making jibes that my husband looked older than him . Telling us he would fight us. Really really upsetting . We won’t be visiting Filey again .until this landlord has gone . This aggressive violent pub landlord wants removing .

What a wonderful pub, friendly and welcoming. I ate a couple of times here, the pie and lasagne both really nice! I would highly recommend to anyone visiting filey, very happy I found this place. Great outside space and good choice of drinks. I came with my dog and they brought around biscuits, had water bowls out and really look after their customers.

I cannot praise this pub enough. Very dog friendly and the staff are welcoming helpful and friendly. Tables are spotless. Real ales. The food portions are enormous. I had the Hunters Chicken and my wife had a Prawn cocktail. Definitely will be back next time we are in Filey. Well done to all of you.

This pub is a proper old school. Run as pub should be. Friendly, efficient staff. Dog friendly, spotlessly clean and a really friendly atmosphere. Sport and/or music on. Love this place!!

Some money has obviously been spent getting this pub looking really nice both outside and in but this effort is not matched by the attitude of the staff. Unfortunately not very friendly or welcoming which is a real pity.

basic but everything there what you could possibly need. microwave toaster fridge. there price for the room was very reasonable. and the owner was very accommodating. went with wife and granddaughters all had a great time.

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 children, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, lovely clean room which even had a fridge, microwave and kettle. The pub itself has a great welcoming atmosphere and friendly bar staff. The food was also really tasty and very generous portions and very reasonably priced. We will certainly be back! Thank you for a great weekend stay.

We came here Monday after travelling all day to our haven holiday park. Came across the pub when walking about looking for dinner. The menu was extensive and service was great. The lady running food interacted great with the kids even with all their questions! We came back Thursday night as we enjoyed it so much. The man running food remembered us and the kids loved that he remembered. We had the chilli nachoes which was a big portion and so tasty! Thank you for feeding us great food whilst on holiday!

Cracking real friendly pub. Feels like it's a majority of locals which is a good thing. Always friendly, lovely pub grub. Cannot fault. Superbly dog friendly, staff always nipping out and keeping your dog happy with a treat. Always visit every time we are near. Well worth a visit.

Great pub, very efficient bar staff. Watched the England Euros match, great atmosphere. Plenty seating indoors, and in the spacious beer garden. Food was being served, but we didn't eat. Good (ladies) toilets, several cubicles, very clean 👌 Doggy treats (for doggies obviously!) from the owner 😋 Definitely recommend

The warmest welcome in Filey. Doggies very welcome, with a little treat. The locals are also very friendly. This pub is always our first port of call when we visit Filey. A nice selection of real ales. It has a homely feel.

Nice traditional pub with large covered and open outdoor area. The day we went was the Leeds Vs Southampton play off final and was full of Leeds fans. So the atmosphere was great until Southampton scored. Still a friendly place and decent beer. Didn't have food but enjoyed a few drinks as a neutral

Went here for some lunch, great food nice atmosphere, very dog friendly, nice beer garden area at the back of the pub, very nice overall, good value food and drink, we will be back.

Compliments to the chef Mathew some top food, came quickly and plenty of it. The burger was juicy with plenty of cheese how we like it! And the scampi was light and fluffy. Will defo be returning.

Stopped for a drink today and stopped longer 😂 what a lovely pub made to feel welcome from the minute we walked in the dogs got treats, it’s been along time that I/we have felt so welcome walking into a pub will definitely be going again🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The food was great however the manager was stropping around being very rude to customers. He had a horrible attitude and a terrible manner which created a really unpleasant atmosphere, a few people were unhappy about his behavior. The rest of the staff were lovely and professional but I felt sorry for them having to deal with a manager like that.

The food is lovely. The staff were really friendly and the portions were huge. Definitely value for money. The only complaint is other diners had a dog that kept jumping onto the benches to try and steal food off my plate. No fault of the venue. Just silly dog owners. Will definitely visit again 😁😁

One of my favourite places in Filey. Always have sport on, multiple screens. Weekend evenings they have live bands.

We didn't eat sat outside with our dog it was pleasant and very clean

We were looking for a dog friendly place which served decent pizza. The other places were either full or didn’t want our little puppy in there. Another restaurant owner recommended The Station. We got there and arrived to a warm welcome. When the food arrived it was delicious. Really pleasantly surprised. The pizzas were great. Just the right size and generous toppings. The homemade onion rings were spot on. I had a cheese and ham baguette with home made chips and coleslaw. Very tasty. Emily provided great service. We usually go to Glass House but we will definitely come back here.

We only dropped in here to watch a football match. It was a rather nice experience, the beer was really good. The staff were very good.

We ate outside on the lovely outdoor terrace area, dog friendly inside and out, the drinks were great quality and reasonably priced. We had the homemade lasagna and steak pie. Lovely food, large portions, nicely presented. The waiting staff was very attentive.

Felt very uneasy in this pub,the other clientele stared at us as soon as we walked in. Too many tv screens showing music videos. Didn't eat so can't comment on food.

Had some weekend leave and spent some time in this establishment. First couple of rounds, we assumed there was some tension between the bar staff. One gent who I now know to be the landlord was quite threatening to another patron, to the point of bullying. We should have left then but food coming out looked excellent so we decided to eat there. The landlord gave us abuse that we wrongly believed to be banter, when he was simply being aggressive and he clearly wanted to cause trouble. We didn’t take the bait and quietly finished our drinks, left and spent an obscene amount on excellent food at another eatery, not wanting the trouble and fallout our actions would have caused. The landlord here needs removing before he goes too far and either attacks a patron or picks on someone who doesn’t afford him our restraint. This review should act as a record that should the worst happen, it is documented that the landlord has a record of abusive, inappropriate and threatening behaviour.

We have lived in this area for 4 years and this is the only pub that have really made us feel like a valued customer. We love that we've been able to enjoy the World Cup Rugby🏈🏈🏈, with decent hand pulled ale (which is an absolute gem of a find). The staff are so friendly and welcoming. At the bar you can help yourself to free peanuts. 👍🏽💯 This pub is definitely our local from now on. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

We held a 21st birthday celebration here, The kitchen put together an amazing buffet that included everything you could think of. The buffet catered for everyone’s different tastes and was excellent. What a great night. Thank you
