I love this pub so much the food is so good and the actual building is beautiful inside and out. Only thing I would say is it a a bit pricey. But it’s expected for the model of Belgravia. Expect to spend around £20 per person on one meal and a drink 🥲

An impossible crowd on the table next to us, women barking and men mewing. Did not diminish pub though. Guinness went down nicely. Good brass lights, nice pictures on the wall and pleasant sense of camaraderie. A negative is that you cannot bring your pint outside to smoke.

The Star Tavern 📍6 Belgrave Mews West, London SW1X 8HT 🚇 Knightsbridge 🍺 £6.75 Asahi ❤️ An exquisite pub with London folklore attached. . The Star Tavern is located on an idyllic mews in swish Belgravia. The nearest Tube is Knightsbridge which is a gentle five minute walk away. . This striking Victorian building was built in 1848 and has been a bolt hole for some famous and infamous punters over the years. The Star is infamous for being the place where the Great Train Robbery was planned, it was masterminded by Bruce Reynolds and carried out in 1963. This pub’s heyday was in the 50’s & 60’s, celebrities who frequented The Star include Bing Crosby, Princess Margaret, Peter O’Toole and Diana Dors. . The decor here is traditional, there are wooden floors, shabby furnishings and memorabilia-covered walls which give this boozer a proper London pub feel. On the right as you walk in is the small but perfectly formed servery and on the left is a good sized bar which has a ample seating and a unique feel to it. Upstairs is an additional bar which is where it is said the planning for the great train robbery took place. . This @fullers pub has an excellent beer choice, it’s in fact so good that this pub has featured in the good beer guide for fifty years. Being the uncultured swine that I am, I decided on a pint of Asahi. My pint was top drawer if a little pricey. Fullers do pub grub very well, the food menu here has lots of traditional fayre, fish and chips will set you back £17.95. . I arrived just after the pub opened with my Brother and Nephew, we ordered our beers and took a seat at the far end of the bar. We were all in agreement how impressed by the look and feel of this boozer. Just after we had our first sups a large group of senior gentleman arrived and the atmosphere was elevated and upbeat. The service was good, we were served by a nice chap behind the bar who was very welcoming . . @thestartavern is yet another outstanding pub that calls Belgravia its home. The mews setting, the fabulous decor and architecture, and who doesn’t love a story about a bit of London skullduggery, its all here. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 04.11.22 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻

Typically British tavern, in its own right but in good taste, isolated in the street which gives the impression of a confidential address. Not at all touristy on the contrary, we don't have the impression of being in London but in the countryside. Calm and good. The marinated beef steak is very good and the dish is hearty. You feel good in this tavern, like at home. The service can be improved in terms of responsiveness, we went to find the waitress.

Decepcionante.

We had an absolutely fantastic meal in this cozy, inviting pub. I had a mushroom pie and my husband had the steak and ale pie- both were delicious hot water crust style pies! When we finished our meal, I wanted to order dessert but didn’t realize that the kitchen had closed; even so, the chef made me an Eton Mess after seeing how much I had my heart set on it. I thought this was above and beyond (and it was on the house!). The pub is in a gorgeous, posh neighborhood but felt so welcoming and homey. I would highly recommend this pub.

Very disappointing. We went for a Sunday roast. The food took a while to come, the beef was very dry and overdone and my friend’s roasts were missing some of the sides like carrots and a Yorkshire pudding and several of the sides weren’t hot. I asked the staff (who were very apologetic and nice) and they said unfortunately management has decided to cut costs so they had far less staff than they needed.

The Star Tavern received The Evening Standard's 'Pub of the Year' title in 1992. The Star Tavern is an award-winning, traditional London pub, just off Sloane Street with its trendy boutiques and a short walk from the luxury British department store Harvey Nichols. The Star Tavern is part of the Fuller's Pubs & Hotels Group, which has been in business since 1845. The Evening Standard's 'Pub of the Year' title was awarded to the Star Tavern in 1992. The pub has a wide menu with seasonal ingredients, in addition to the classics, it also offers pan-roasted salmon and crab & crayfish salad. I had lunch there recently and ordered pan-roasted salmon with buttered new potatoes, peas, mint & balsamic reduction for £24.00. I also treated myself to a British lemon curd pudding served with raspberry sorbet and meringue. My pan-roasted Scottish salmon was a delightful dish, full of flavour, moist and tender. Minted peas was a delightful side dish that pairs perfectly with fish. The subtle mint flavor doesn’t overpower the peas but adds a refreshing layer. New potatoes, had a creamy texture and a buttery taste that complemented the dish well. Overall, it was a satisfying meal with a balance of flavors that worked well together. To drink, I ordered Aperol Spritz, the perfect cocktail for the summer season, it is light, refreshing and sparkling. The cocktail has a slightly bitter taste, with an orange-herbal sweetness. The pub offers a cozy and laid-back atmosphere without loud music, perfect for good conversation. The Star Tavern offers function rooms, with nice decor including fireplaces, perfect for weddings, birthdays or business meetings. Overall, my dining experience was great and I would recommend it to anyone craving traditional British food! https://youtu.be/8sUwK7KcmSU?si=BV65qlygkVkbTeog

The Star Tavern is a beautiful little pub located down a mews in Belgavia - not quite as hidden as the Grenadier, but on a similar little street. The interior is not quite as cozy as the exterior would make you think, but it's still quite nice. My family and I visited for dinner and we were very pleased with the menu and the food. Our server recommended the chicken roasted in garlic and butter, which was delicious. My kids had fish & chips, which was massive and perfectly cooked, as were the chips. The one dish we didn't care for was the Welsh rarebit - the bread was mushy and the sauce was very heavy on the mustard. So skip that and enjoy the rest of the menu! Great place to stop into for a pint, as well.

Sadly this visit was not great. Ok it was lunchtime and they should not be surprised to have business but delighted. Ok 17 folk walk in before us but the two bar staff worked hard to try to deal with lots of food and drink orders all at once. The kitchen seemed overwhelmed with waits of nearly an hour for something simple off the menu. Bar service could be improved with somebody bringing out and serving the meals and not the two over worked bar staff. Fullers London Pride at £5.30 a pint was ok but taste and cellar not as good as the beautiful cellared London Pride in The Three Kings at Hammersmith at £4.80. However once the food arrived the Beef & Ale Pie to share (£35.00) was described as Stunning, Wonderful and Outstanding. Just such a shame it took so long to arrive. Sadly the sandwiches were very disappointing to the point a complaint was sent to the kitchen. Oh well it's Pot Luck but should not be. Many did not order food due to delay and a number left for another pub. Disappointing as we know the pub and returned as we had a good experiences here over time. No reason not to go back. TIP: try to avoid peak lunchtime.

Found this tavern on Atlast Obsura, whose sites are places that my wife and I prefer to visit as opposed to many tourist traps. Here for dinner before heading out to the theatre for our second performance in as many days. We started with drinks, and then attacked our starters and entrees. Marmite Potatoes, Cheddar Rarebit, a Cheese Burger, Black Scotch Eggs and Squash Wellington. Our server was attentive and ended up giving my wife and I a list of places we had to visit in Dingle, Ireland, her hometown, where we were headed in a few days. Very historic, comfortable and busy the entire time we were there.

Cosy, quiet and authentic pub a little further from the busy Harrods. Fish and chips are delicious, especially with a beer!

Disappointing - they weren't serving 2/3 dishes on the menu, staff were friendly but inexperienced, they'd not bothered to light the fire and the main lights were on full brightness killing any atmosphere. Oh and £7.80 a pint. Won't be going back!

Went here for lunch and the positives were that the welcome was warm and the staff were friendly and the service was good, unfortunately the food was very disappointing and mediocre and not worth the money so would not wish to return when they are far better places to dine out.

Atrocious standard of food. £9.50 for a rarebit which was one slice of floppy bread with grilled cheese on top. Pigs in blankets looked anameic, probably microwaved sausages. And a small bowl of packet bought frozen chips. Just really poor all round

Magnifique pub où la décoration et l'ambiance se conjuguent avec l'amabilité du service et la qualité des bières (enfin un pub avec un vrai choix de bière anglaises !) De plus, les prix sont vraiment abordables. Un magnifique souvenir

I had a great chicken burger here. I hadn't realised this pub existed until a 007 treasure hunt took us past it. I went back for a visit and was glad I did.

Good spot to watch the football, does a nice pint of Guinness and the staff are friendly on top of that. What’s not to like?

A lovely little pub in one of the most expensive areas of London. Expected a boozer and then a posh man with a hat and tails greeted us on the door, which is very fitting for the area. A decent pint in a traditional setting

Very bad service, got ordered/shouted randomly by the employee
