First time for ages visiting the Star, Sunday Lunch. Food was excellent, hard to get roast lamb right, today was slightly pink, cut like butter, add fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection. Pate to start, no room for desert. We will be back in the near future.

Well, just got back after a birthday meal. When the only problem I had was salt and pepper squid wasn't on the starter menu, because all our food was beautiful, and I am sure that would have been brilliant too. We had Prawns (really good) and Pate (excellent). Mains were pork and lamb. All really good, beautifully cooked, plenty of veg, couldn't fault it (bar the fact my wife's pork crackling sounding so good to eat, and I didn't get any). Desserts were profiteroles and apple crumble. Again, all really good. The atmosphere in the pub was really friendly and good. The service from all the staff was excellent and the value for money was incredible. Our first visit, but certainly not our last.

Searching for a perfect location for family Christmas get together within this area...came across this wonderful place. Phone calls dealt with so politely and professionally and booking made. Arrived in the picturesque village with a warm welcome and open fire where all 14 of us were shown to our table. Staff were amazing, plentiful choice of drinks and menu mouth watering. Service was perfect and food was so tasty with huge portions and nothing was too much trouble...even my request for crackling even though I'd ordered beef. Thank you all for a wonderful dining experience and we will be booking our family Christmas get together for 2023 with you. Looking forward to another great dining experience in you company. Just perfect.

Visited midweek and took advantage of the three courses for £12.50 deal, which was great value! Portions weren’t massive, but plentiful and a good range of options. Would have been nice to have had more than one vegetarian starter, but the soup was nice. Friendly staff too and loved that my dog could dine with us.

Went for pre Xmas family evening pub meal weren’t disappointed the star is a traditional pub with traditional pub grub you can taste the home made ness if you want a pie full of meat that needs a ladder to climb the crust or a macaroni cheese to wrap round as comfort blanket then this is the place to go lots to choose from on the menu and friendly helpful staff

We were invited for a complimentary meal after a previous hickup. It was well worth the wait. We had 3 main courses of steak, gammon and burger, and all were well cooked and tasty. The menu is very good value for what you get. Would definitely return. Thank you Richard.

We booked a table for a meal last night,but on arrival were told the chef was upstairs with coronavirus and no food was being served. Despite having a telephone contact number, they did not bother to ring and cancel our booking. We did a round trip of 18 miles, and had no dinner. The nonchalant attitude of the staff was appalling. The male behind the bar flippently said we could have some vouchers, but the female said they couldn't do that. She lied and said the manager had texted to inform us on Wednesday, obviously no text was received. We will not be returning, and future potential diners should be aware of this totally non-pofessional attitude.

We have visited the star twice now for Sunday lunch and they have been excellent both times. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We were quite a big group but the food was hot and nicley served.

Today we , a group of 25, arrived at The Star Inn.. the tables were already set with linen tables clothes, linen napkins and cutlery. When all seated the starters of home made pate and prawn cocktails arrived promptly and were delicious. The main mealsl followed . Such variety, lasagne, chill, scamp, fish , which included vegetarian options. These meals all arrived within a few minutes hot and delicious. The empty plates showed this group of mature ladies and gentlemen enjoyed their food. Desserts were served, consisting of Apple crumble, profiteroles and a delicious beetroot and chocolate cake. I visited The Star for lunch as a group of 6 for a work lunch. The atmosphere was really nice. nice English pub/restaurant. The food was lovely, we all had a range of dishes, soup of the day, steak and ale pie, Cajun chicken baguette, chilli con carne and a brie & bacon baguette. My meal was delicious and everyone else's looked great too. The service was great. The pub got quite busy but the staff did a great job.

the star has not been of the best in the past couple BIT THE NEW OWNERS HAV LIFFTED IT UP TO THE OLD STANDARDS we had Stake and Ale pie Chips and peas it was excellent a good choice of beers and nice to see the fire on

Ordered a lasagne that wasn't very hot, bland and dry. I relayed to the waiter that it was uneditable due to temp and dryness (didn't mention the blandness​ as thought that might be a bit rude) only to have the cook/ owner come out, pissed off to say the least.

We had a three course meal here recently and although it has been in the doldrums for a couple of years, it now has new owners and you can definitely see and feel the difference, newly decorated inside, welcoming staff and getting busier. The food was very well presented and tasty and the serving staff were friendly. Glad this inn is coming back to life and becoming busy again. It is located in the middle of Geddington, opposite Eleanors Cross. Will definitely be visiting again next time we are in Geddington.

A decent traditional old pub in the beautiful village of Geddington near Kettering. We parked in the small car park at the rear and walked in Quiz night!! Wr ordered our food from the limited menu......most things with chips.We ordered ham egg beans and chips....food arrived fairly quickly and was cheap too..£6-95 each......food not bad..just ok.great pub full of character.visited 19th 2016.

Had our first meal in the Starr since it is in the hands of new management. The improvements made to to environment, service and food was remarkable. Nice pub meal by an open fire with a nice ale in a clean environment......well done Jane and her team. If you have been put off before....this village pub is definitely worth another visit

After a rocky year at the star with a landlord that had no clue the star is finally reaching its former glory. Jayne the landlady who has come back to the star is working tirelessly to make the pub a success. The food is beautiful just what you would want from a village pub. The atmosphere is welcoming, staff are friendly. Children are welcome.Dogs are also welcome in the bar area. The pub has also been putting on local bands on Saturday nights which pack the place out!At time of writing there's a Halloween party due to be held on the 31st October....The star is really worth a visit and if you have been before I strongly recommend people give it a try again. My partner and I had steak, I'm a fussy steak eater and it was cooked to perfection!Keep up the good work to everyone at the star

After a long time in the doldrums. At last they have a new landlady and a chef that can actually cook !!!Only a basic menu at the moment (but this is done very well) but this is apparently set to expand very soon.The pub is clean and welcoming once again. Very busy when we visited last night a good mix of people eating or just having a drink.Hopefully its the first step back to the Stars former success !!!

On arriving we were ignored by the staff and left waiting in the draughty entranceway, I would have understood if the pub was busy but when we were finally invited in there were no more than 8 people sat down eating. We were sat in the back of the pub which felt like a poorly decorated village hall with bits of old party decoration hanging from the walls - not the best atmosphere! The waitress had little knowledge of the menu. When my food arrived the chips were cold and limp and the side salad was bone dry and bland. My dad had ordered a Thai curry and remarked that it was both gloppy and powdery at the same time with three very small stringy bits of chicken in. Even the drinks were rubbish! Below average atmosphere, poor service and poor food and drink - we won't be going there again.

Since the change if hands I refuse to go there. One look at the owner/chefs nails and I refused to eat there. Looked like he could do with a bath. He insisted that the very young barmaid hugged him to get her pay and then bragged about it to some customers. He made rude, personal, sexist and sweary comments (think it might have been attempted humour) to all around including us and tried at every opportunity to get the customers to buy him a drink. This has spoilt our local and I now refuse to go there. Looking forward to the pub changing hands again as it surely will. Stay away till then.

My wife and I took a little road trip from Milton Keynes to have a meal here after a recommendation from a friend. Decent food and service ruined by an owner nothing short of belligerent: Drunk, loud and uncomfortably rude to his own staff.I can only sympathise with anyone staff/customers who have had to put up with this fool and feel obliged to recommend taking a hike if you are unfortunate enough to come across this fellow (rounded belly with greying hair). A dismal experience.

We arrived on a Friday night for a drink and to listen to some local music. Instead of a relaxed evening we found a drunken bullying buffoon of a manager making more noise than the artists. Rude and arrogant do not do this idiot justice. Avoid at all costs

We arrived on a Saturday night to a totally empty restaurant. It was 8pm and to be honest we were in two minds to walk straight out again. However as we had booked a table we were obliged to see it through. See it through we did and on reflection we were pleased that we did. The manageress and the waitress couldn't do enough for us. They were friendly and charming and went out of their way to ensure that we had a pleasurable evening. As we were looking at the menus the place started to fill up. Not with diners but a large group of couples who helped to create a pleasant atmosphere. The menu I have to say was very limited. If you didn't want something from the grill then you were left with little alternatives. Even the Specials Board offered only grilled meat. However the steaks that we ordered were superbly cooked and well presented. The pub has a good selection of real ales which went down well. In the end we were the only table to have eaten in the pub which for a Saturday night must be very difficult to sustain. There were many positives from the evening and I'm sure that with some perseverance the pub can be restored to its former glory. I certainly hope so and will call in again sometime soon to monitor progress. Best of luck.

Visited this Inn recently with our friends.We were a party of eight and we have been here before on a number of occasions when it was under different management.Very friendly staff and the service was brilliant. The food on the menu was a great variety and not one of us could fault anything. Food was hot.delicious and presented lovely. It was a great night and we shall certainly be going again. Waitresses were lovely girls and always smiling and chatting. Well done to all.

Called in late last Sunday in the hope of still being able to get food. Nothing was too much trouble, really friendly welcome and happy to take a food order even though I was just past the advertised time. Enjoying a great pint of tribute when roast beef and all the trimmings arrived, well presented hot and tasty. For the quality of food this is one of the best Sunday lunches in the area. Staff are really friendly and always checking you are ok. Will definitely visit again.
