I am really local to the area (therefore I don’t know what the rooms are like because that very reason precludes the need to stay at the establishment). The awards won speak for themselves. Staff are friendly too. Prices are very good value for what is offered, and there is a selection of drinks to suit all, from, beers, wines and spirits and soft drinks and everything in between. I hope to visit this pub and have a drink at this pub in the near future. Keep going guys.

Lovely hotel. Just a pity some of the staff will ruin your expectations. Just know they are only there for your money. So fake.

Well run village Pub, with a good range of beers. There's plenty of seating inside and out and food is prepared on the premises. Wednesday is Pizza day and I had an Italian stone baked one which was over crispy on the edges but otherwise good

Good range of beers available. A brewery takeover was on at the time. Friendly staff. Not far from the railway station. Trams pass the front if the pub.

A really nice place for something to eat or just a pint and relax. We are local and this is our go-to place to take friends / visitors when they come here. Always a really nice afternoon or evening in The Star.

We walked along the Trent and were recommended a few watering holes to visit. Out first stop was the Star Inn. Great atmosphere and service. They had a wide choice of ales on tap and the brewer was stood in the corner and was able to give us advice according to preferred taste. I had a couple of pints of the Echo. A tastey light beer, great for an afternoon. We then went on to visit The Crown and The Victoria, all great. A superb afternoon had by all before a txi back into town for a meal.

Stay was ok. The room smelt and the showers were weak. Staff are very helpful and friendly though!!

I had the Buddha bowl with chicken. Despite the food being delicious, the portion size of the chicken breast was considerably scarce despite costing an extra £3.45. Had it been served with a whole chicken breast, I would've given 5 stars for food as the flavour was lovely. But 3 small strips of chicken was a bit pathetic. My Mum had the beef brisket. She stated it was the best beef brisket chilli she'd tried so gave it 5 stars. The mulled wine was delicious. No one asked how our food was during our meal and it was difficult to arouse the attention of anyone because the place was busy. The environment and atmosphere was lovely. I love quirky decor. Some of the toilets were dirty and the toilet roll had ran out in 2/3 toilets. Dog friendly place though!

Nice place, good coffee. Only criticism is the lack of plugs for charging phones.
