When you get over having no ensuite, and a carpark away from site, this as a bit of a gem, very reasonably priced, clean room and bathrooms. Great choice of ales and ciders, the bar staff are exceptional, knowledgeable, helpful and make you wish it was your local pub. Good choice of places to eat nearby when staying on a budget.

It was a great place for a cheap stay, nice pub with an excellent range of drinks. Situated near the bus stops. Accommodation adequate, clean and comfortable.

Needs a better selection of Spirits, specifically Whisky....might encourage folk to linger after their meal a little longer and spend more. Masterful food though. Recommend.

A little story of how being nice can make someone’s weekend. We were visiting the area for a family party in Nottingham (21 Oct) and were looking for some lunch. Although the lunch menu did not suit for us, the barman (maybe landlord ?) was so helpful in finding us a different place to eat, detriment to his own cost. His recommendation was spot on. As a result of this, my brother and I felt compelled to revisit and sample some of his real ales - WOW! He had some crackers, and he thoroughly explained everything about every beer on tap and was plentiful in his tasters. From what we seen of the place it was tidy, well run with nice regulars and the landlord was a truly awesome chap - wish we’d got his name.

Clean, basic bed for the night. Comunial washroom. TV and kettle in room.

First visit her on Friday. Stagg extremely friendly and genuine, not forced friendliness. Great selection of beers. Was very busy, but no screaming or shouting by anyone, just nice people having nice conversations. Would highly recommend and we will be returning often.

It's a very nice hotel. Security wise, I will give them 10/10. Staff Approach, I will give the.m 10/10 (the lady that met me even helped me with my luggage). A very nice place to stay with good room.

Not usually into Real Ale pubs, but needed accommodation for a weekend whilst working locally. Brilliant range of beers, well kept and served by really friendly staff. Loved the sausage rolls. Will be returning the next time I'm in the area.

Absolutely amazing welcome by Austin.Not just given a key and some basic info, I was escorted to my room and shown exactly how to get through key coded entrances etc. I was a little bothered by the dreaded "shared bathroom" however it's not one but 4 individual bathrooms with even more toilets so it's no issue whatsoever. Lovely pub, great little very clean room. I honestly can't believe the price. EXCEPTIONAL 👍🏻

So having lived in Nottingham for 47 years and have been living in Beeston 2 miles from this pub for 37 of them .....I'd never been before. As a finalist for UK pub of the year I really thought it was time. You see as a lager drinker 'proper beer ' pubs like this used to look down there noses at drinkers like yours truly. But just recently I've noticed a slight change in attitude and quality of the lagers offered. This pub is a delight. A very friendly welcome. Nice decor and Internal layout with a lovely compact covered outdoor area. The added bonus is dogs are most welcome to. We called in after 5 miles of a 7 mile walk to Bramcote hills to see the Hemlockstone and the Erewash valley trail. Its well worth its camera winning status I'm sure but for me as a lager drinker I felt most welcome. Throughly enjoyed the walk the hospitality and my beer. I'll be back soon. Cheers 🍻

Well worth a visit if your into your real ales, on our last trip 11 handpumps were available, covering a wide range of beer styles, two tiered seating, with a small outside area, will certainly visit again in the future.

A superior range of beers that I was a little unfamiliar with. Enjoyed the 3 pint learning. Quiz night but plenty of people saving their brain.

Stayed here for a few nights while on a short trip from Germany. Rooms are good and warm with adequate clean separate toilets and showers. The staff are very friendly and willing to help in any unplanned situation. The pub beer various real ale is definitely one not to be missed. All in all a pleasant experience.

Lovely pub. Great selection of ales of all kinds. Owner very knowledgeable about what he sells and very lovely atmosphere. Warm food available and the pizza nights on Thursday sound great! Will be back 100%.

Stayed here just overnight as was working away in this area late into the night and again early in the morning so just wanted a place to get some sleep, was pleasantly surprised after a warm welcome at the bar I was give a wealth of knowledge of the area for eating etc... My room was comfortable and quiet and was perfect for my needs. Didn't have time to try the pub but what I saw was impressive and busy for a Wednesday night so that says a lot. Would stay again if in the area.

You will be spoilt for choice by the selection of real ales and ciders, and there is a nice covered area at the back for those brave enough to venture outside. Although I haven't eaten here the menu always looks delicious!

Fantastic pub has an extensive range of 13 real ales with a wide selection of strengths and styles. It is very friendly with spot on service. The landlord has an extensive knowledge of breweries and the pub trade. The cleanliness of the pub and toilets is outstanding

1st visit, pleasant pub with good atmosphere, we'll be returning. Front door access isn't disabled friendly, and there's no obvious nearby easy parking either, otherwise very well worth a visit.

Used to live this place bit on our last visit was surprised to find that 3 out of 4 of the real ales we bought were well passed their best. Large choice of beers made up for that though.

This is one of the best pubs for real ale enthusiasts in Notts and anyone who simply likes a proper pub to socialise or simply enjoy a quiet drink. Always a good beer selection and range of pies and sausage rolls if you need a snack. Outside area which can store bikes (though you need to go in first to open the gate). Won many CAMRA awards.

If you love a decent real ale then this is easily the best pub in Stapleford.

Booked a double room and was welcomed, but when I entered the room,it had no windows. It was literally a box. I am claustrophobic so as soon as I shut the door I had a panic attack. Who provides a room without a window? I immediately left and slept in my car. I have never had a hotel room with no access to fresh air via a window. Nightmare.

Me and 3 work colleagues got placed here for a week whilst undertaking works in the area. Honestly, this is probably the worst place we’ve stayed. Poxy box room with no window, the landing smelt horrid, communal showers & toilets aren’t looked after by other guests, walls made of paper maché, kids running up and down the hallways. We couldn’t even see the week out, ended up going home early. I’m sure the pub is lovely, but the “hotel” upstairs is an absolute hovel.

This is a great pub for Real Ale lovers. There were 12 to choose from starting at £2:80 a pint! I loved the Stancill Barnsley Bitter at £3:30 the most. The pub grub was more than passable. This pub might not be everyone`s cup of tea but i loved it!

Very welcoming and friendly pub. It is obviously a locals pub but all the locals were very friendly and accomadating with information for our stay in Nottingham. The room was clean and had a fridge, fan and refreshments in the room. Toilet and shower facilities were separate but very private as no on suite in the rooms, do not let this put you off. Highly recommended as great value for money.

Excellent over night stay here. It exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and cleanliness. Really good value for money. We had two rooms. One with double bed one with twin beds. Both were very comfortable. Bonus of Pizza night in the pub below too.. delicious! Very little noise from the pub and the shared bathroom was more that adequate. Friendly staff and a great little walk nearby in the Erewash valley should you want some fresh air and exercise!

This is the Mecca for real ale enthusiasts. So many real ales and ciders. There is also a selection of lagers the more common lagers but also lagers that are slightly rarer that you do not see in the average pub that are quality. Bar food is available that is good value. This is a traditional old English pub. Bar staff are polite. This pub has won awards for real ale and the staff are meticulous in keeping the beer in top condition regularly cleaning the pipes. The pub has a board detailing the type of real ale on a chart so that you can see all the details of the beer in comparison with others. Dog friendly. Nice traditional boozer please give it a try.

I love the atmosphere of this pub, our favourite local. The beer is always an interesting selection with lots of local breweries and excellent quality. Staff are very friendly, bar snacks are fab.

Absolutely lovely restaurant, rustic and cosy. Brilliant live piano over a fantastic dinner, the food was amazing start to finish. And I'd recommend the creme brulee to finish it was amazing! The staff were friendly and attentive, top class. Thanks!
