Bendigo Lounge in Broxtowe

visited today 30th April for a change from Nero or Costa but wished we hadnt. great menu if dining but the latte was not good, no strength of coffee at all. shall not be going again

Our third visit. Excellent each time. Enjoyed the food and ambiance equally (the lattes we had are superb, with the 'extra hot' option greatly appreciated). You can order through the app or at the counter, so can please all types of patron, again, a great idea to do this imho. Nice touches all round and the chap who served us seemed like a good guy also. Shouldn't have to wait 15 minutes for a tea. When u enquired where the drink was I didn't even get an apology.

I usually work here upstairs during the day and have done so for many years. I have recommended Bendigo to people, been here with colleagues and friends and booked our team Christmas dinner there. Up until this point, I have found the staff to be friendly, enjoyed the food and felt very comfortable. Unfortunately, on this occasion, I came in the evening with my partner and there were a few times where I felt greater care could have been taken to ensure this was a positive experience. I know things can get stressful especially when it is busy, but the service felt brusk, abrupt and unfriendly. This coupled with the fact we waited quite a bit of time for the main meal and between the mains and dessert, made for an unpleasant experience. I feel disappointed as Bendigo was my go-to place and now I am not sure I want to go back. It is worth noting that some people are sensitive to the chemicals in candles so, it might be worth just checking in with customers before putting one on the table.

Be very very careful, Wi-Fi was down in this venue 18th march 2024. following card payment at the bar, fraudulent card activity details being used from this venue after using card payment at the bar, junky company. Be aware!!!! Food was alright but service was disappointing.

We have eaten in Bendigo Lounge several times since Oct 2023 as my teen is a Nottingham Uni Student. It has always been fantastic and offers vegan and gluten free menus. Highly recommended.

The service and the cleanliness was a bit lacking, tables sat uncleared for quite a while throughout the evening, the glasses that came with the wine we ordered were dirty, table service was only for items ordered via the app, we were instructed to fetch our own water for the table, but everything else was table service, the devil is in the detail. It's a nice place to go but for the price I would expect that little bit more from a service and cleanliness perspective.

As with all the lounges I have been to the range of food was good with a nice variaty and not too much to make decisions to complicated. The food was perfect and just the right time to wait between ordering and our cinema showing.

Excellent place to have a drink and have some lovely tasty food, from a great selection of diverse dishes. Surroundings are cosy with a calm laid back atmosphere. Always had a great experience when visiting Bendigo.

Love this place. The food is good. The atmosphere is welcoming and informal. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. They absolutely *nailed* looking after someone with allergies, they take obvious care and don’t treat you like you’re an alien (which is nice). I’d have taken a picture of the lounge breakfast but I ate it too quickly cos it was YUMMY… soz. Very crispy hash browns, not-chewy bacon, runny egg. All excellent. Highly recommended!

The staff were nice, the atmosphere was nice, though the place could do with a good clean. The food however was very underwhelming and overpriced, we had to ask for a refund on 2 dishes that we couldn't eat. One looked like cat food with potatoes on top and the falafel salad had 3 cold falafel on it cut into pieces with feta buried at the bottom and just wasnt worth the money. Thankfully got a refund on these and the waitress was good in giving the refund without any fuss. The kids liked their burger and pizza though.

Lunchtime visit. Busy but not rammed. Quickly seated. App ordering. Lovely food, (flatbread). Quick service. Nice interesting environment. Good value. Nothing to not like. Will return.

My first time in the Bendigo Lounge, meeting with a friend for a catch up. We had the Tuesday deal of 3 Tapas and a glass of wine, value for money.

I recommend this place as a casual evening out, children welcome great value for families and students and some very good deals on offer at certain times and days. Service is either at the bar or via an app/website and served very quickly although did arrive for different people at slightly different times even though ordered together and one drink was forgotten. The food was very good, really tasty and brilliant price. The veggie options are plentiful and I did not feel like I was missing out. Shakshuka with extra avocado for main. The dessert of sticky toffee pudding was definitely not that, it was a ginger cake which was so delicious, served warm and very moist and great texture. But not sticky toffee pudding. The salted caramel sauce it was served with was perfect there just was no where near enough and same with ice cream. Very yummy food and staff were friendly, toilets were clean. But seemed very slightly unprepared for us and the table was dirty despite booking in advance.

Great place. I had cauliflower curry really nice very filling. Child friendly too. Dogs allowed. Really nice atmosphere. Staff great really friendly. Highly recommend.

Nice atmosphere. A little contrived. Very nice staff. But the ordering system is horrible. No opportunity to ask questions and a place to experience being a server for yourself. This system is completely acceptable in places like McDonalds. Or anywhere whence you get the food from the counter. But this place pretends to be a restaurant. Also you pay as you order, avd asked to tip!! It’s me that’s done all the work so far. The servers come quickly, place all the cutlery in a pile and ways they go. They were all very pleasant. No complaints about them. But the management or the company’s set up is to blame. The food was mediocre at best. The coffee was fine, but cane in stained cups. It is dig friendly such is great. I wish more places were. I don’t even have a dog but I like that they are welcome.

We have visited many times before & enjoyed. This time found waitress to be incredibly rude, we were told to choose any table to sit at, only to be barked at by waitress that as a couple we could only sit at 2 seat table. There is way to talk to customers and this was not it. We we’re both shocked at how we were spoke too. What is worse is the place was full of couples taking up larger tables.( Some taking up tables of 8 people) We left without ordering and won’t be back. I hope this feedback is passed on to staff.

Had an amazing time at the quiz on Monday. The host was very charismatic. The bar staff are also really lovely. Looking forward to coming again soon!

Breakfasts are great, other food can be a bit hit and miss, but it's part of a chain so to be expected. Drinks are good, decent selection. Comfortable bar. Staff wonderful.

Love this place! This is my go-to restaurant if I just want a casual meal or coffee with my fiancé, friends or family. There's a great range of food options so there's always something for everybody, the food usually arrives at the table relatively quickly and is tasty and affordable. It's a nice upgrade from a Wetherspoons or a pub if you like something a little 'fancier' without leaving the casual dining category. The staff are great as well, always very cheerful and helpful! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a bite to eat in Beeston.

Really nice large breakfast with orange juice. It was incredibly busy when we arrived and the order did take a while as a result.

It's a bit weird how you find a table then order food and drink via the app, but the app asks for a service tip before you've even seen a staff member. I had the Nasi Goreng, never tried one before. It was fresh, flavourful and very spicy - definitely felt like there was a party in my mouth. I did need specialised equipment to find the tiny prawns though. Pricewise, about £15 per head for a coffee and a main course.

Second visit and the food just keeps getting better. I would recommend it highly.

Christmas lunch: good price, tasty food, good selection, nice staff and we were allowed to take our time. Quirky artwork on the walls adds to the atmosphere. My only criticism is that when ordering by mobile most people don't leave a tip for the staff because one pays before receiving the food.

A geat place for that weekend bruch with the family. the Menu had everything you could want for Brunch. We had a full English and my partner had the Pancakes which she throughly enjoyed. Service was quick and efficent. They are very accomodating to young families.

Romantic setting, candlelit and dim. Drinks were delicious and plenty of options. Staff were friendly.

Always know what you get here, very consistent service and food quality. Great place to come especially if not booking. Lots of food choice.

Ordered two steaks two coffee's, and waited ages for the meals to arrive and then one arrive, after five minutes I asked where is my husband's meal ? I was told we only charged for one, and yet the waiter set it for two, by now I had almost finished my steak, as the wait was never ending and yet the place had very few in we decided to go home and I cooked my husband some dinner. Last time we ever eat there again! That was my birthday meal spoilt, last time my anniversary was spoil when there were eight of us and my steak never arrived by the time it did everyone had eaten. Sadly that's us calling it a day at Bendigos Beeston.

We've been here before and do like this cafe. I just think they can do better. This visit we ordered burgers which were good, but unfortunately they were served with cold fries and homemade coleslaw on the plate which had been left to warm under the heat lamp so inedible! Serving cold coleslaw and hot fries should not be difficult for a nice cafe like this.

A nice place, good menu with variety for all tastes; vegan, gluten free,etc. Prepare to wait, service can be slow on busy days, but always friendly. If you go for a drink, do try the cherry bakewell cocktails. Simply incredible.

Can’t fault the place at all. Excellent menu with delicious food, lovely staff, great location and excellent decor. Furthermore, the drinks menu is interesting, varied and fairly priced. Excellent.

Maybe it was this particular day as it seemed really busy and there was a music thing going on in Beeston but it could have been so much better in so many ways. Staff on entry were just not there...we found our own reserved table upstairs( 13 people)....we got our own drinks from the bar downstairs as advised by the staff member we had to seek out and approach to find out what the system was as no staff were identifiable. We got our drinks....it took ages o ly one staff on bar( who was pleasant) and paid and the system when paying by card asks if we want to tip ????? for buying our own drink from the bar ???? This is beyond rude ...it needs changing.... !!! We all sit at the table and eventually go and find a member of staff who tells us we need to order food at the bar downstairs or via our phone. OK...so we separately,( 3 groups order our food trying repeatedly)....result error for everyone .... give up eventually and 3 people go to bar for 3 different orders. Turns out wifi isnt working. Dont staff know this? Food arrives some of it ok ,some almost warm, !!all of it tasty. Staff who served food pleasant and all food served together... We ate and then left( we decided against deserts due to the lack of service so that was a touching £100 the restaurant lost out on ).no staff in sight. Would I give it another go ...probably ....but there is no service. I have been in once before just for drinks a few months ago and it took ages to get served at the bar...... Basically lovely,lively bar with food that tastes OK but it needs to give some service otherwise we might as well stay at home and get a meal deal.

Unfortunately they had run out of a lot of stuff ranging from food to beer. When food arrived it was nicely presented but lacked a bit of depth.

Great for a casual night out. Really enjoyed the ambience of the place. Went with three friends, early evening. We sat outside to begin with for pre dinner drinks and then moved indoors to eat. My chicken souvlaki was delicious and good value for money.

When ordering cocktails before last orders staff were complaining they “wouldn’t be leaving before 1 am at this rate”. If staff aren’t happy it would be best that they kept this to themselves whilst the customer is stood there.

First time we have gone in here for food and I must say we were disappointed with the brunch . The sausage was over cooked couldn’t cut them as they were so burned . Other then that we enjoyed the rest of our food . To be honest the service was great . Very polite your lad who was very welcoming when you enter . Pity about the sausages

Come all the time here and every single member of staff is always super lovely and accommodating and even recognise us now! Food always comes fast and is always delicious and it’s brilliant for breakfast, lunch, dinner and for just a drink!

The menu is vast, well priced, drinks selection is great, it’s dog friendly, child friendly, staff are nice and service is good, it’s colourful , interesting and there’s something for everyone. Can’t fault it, had a lovely meal of teriyaki salmon and my friend had a full English, will definitely be back and would definitely recommend.
