Friendly welcoming pub, locals are friendly, beer nice a cold and if you like pool they have a really good pool table and straight cues

Just came into the pub for a few pints and got a warm welcome from the staff and locals, will definitely be coming here again

Lovely evening spent here, Tom has done a great Job turning this place round. We are allowed to spend time here with our friends who have children and all are welcomed!!!

Had an absolutely experience at the star kingswood the other week. Was really fast and happy service from bar staff and the manager Tom always had a smile on his face.

Have had many of great night in this pub in the last two years of having moved into the area. Have grown good friends with the locals and become part of the pool team now. The staff are friendly and accommodating and go above and beyond to make sure we have the sports on the drinks poured and the pool table at the ready. Libby , young tom , Liz , Jason and landlord Tom are exceptional and the way Tom has turned the pub around and pulled in the staff needed who do an amazing job and how he operates as a whole makes the whole pub and clientele feel at ease and make it an enjoyable environment to be around sets it aside from others I’ve attended. It does not do food but to attend for the sports or to play pool and congregate with friends or family with the added bonus of a welcome from Rex the dog is class and my children enjoy seeing the pooch and trying to play pool very much! Well done Tom and staff you should be very proud and I’ll be eager to attend again!!

The Star is a great pub with great atmosphere and even greater people. The landlord, Tom, is super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend

Just beware if you put back a poster and it falls out you might get barred and pushed out down the stairs. If that the pub you wanna be in go for it but don’t really think landlords should be doing that.

Booked a table for the uafa cup final. Excellent table right in front of the TV. No problem getting served as plenty of staff working. Excellent atmosphere. Will def book again for sporting events!

Tom and his team are doing a brilliant job in turning The Star around. Not too long ago I wouldn't even use the pub myself due to how bad it had become, but now I'm happy to take my 75 year old Dad in here for a pint. The pub is friendly, relaxed and clean. Keep up the good work.

The star is a classic local. If you like darts or pool, they have both. The staff are usually friendly and there's a community "everyone knows everyone" feel to the place. Since moving house I don't go here very often anymore but I used to spend quite alot of time hanging out in the beer garden and I've never left not having had a good chat with a stranger.

Beautiful English pub with inside and outside seating arrangements. Welcoming to pets too! You got pool, music and good entertainment all throughout the week. Drinks priced quite competitively. Should visit if you're around the corner!

Went into the pub last night. Sue to staff illness there was only one member of staff working. He was amazing! I think every last glass must have been used as it is always busy on a Friday. However the lone barman kept the glasses cleared ( and washed them all up) no one waited for any length of time for a drink. He was upbeat and friendly even though his head must have been spinning! Pub really has great staff always a pleasure to visit.

Lovely, friendly staff, great atmosphere and really good entertainment, especially over the weekend with great access to live sports all around the pub, a large pool area and darts area too. Nowhere else I’d rather be!

Lovely pub, really enjoyed the atmosphere and also that the manager and staff were welcoming. Stoo explained the new coronavirus measures and actually made me feel very comfortable being in the pub. I’ve been hesitant about going out since Lockdown ended but would gladly come here again.

Decent locals' pub, great service, very covid safe in my eyes. Has a decent sized garden too so very dog friendly. Would definitely pop in for a beer again.

Friendly staff and patrons, cosy place yet bright with a great atmosphere as a local though welcoming to a newcomer! Decent prices too with a tempting spirit range (especially gin but that might have been promotional -looked inviting regardless!) Definitely will return soon and probably often, hopefully to beat my pool-shark boyfriend on the table at the back!

Watched the champions League final with loads of people having a great time. Lots of young gentleman were drinking lots, which caused several trips to the toilet.

Good place to enjoy a drink after work. Staff are friendly and it is usually busy during evening that’s a good sign for a pub. The prices are reasonable.

Great pub with a good range of drinks, plenty of Tv's about so sport's are played on them. The pub has a Poole table and darts board (We advise you bring your own darts as only a few are available from behind the bar). The staff and landlady are very friendly and chatty to. There is an outside area to which does have overhead heating to. The overall decour and interior are some what a little run down and is in need of a refurbishment, however we have learnt that this may happen soon ie in 2019. This is a pub which is frequented by locals and has a great atmosphere.🍻👍🙂

The Star is arguably the best pub in Kingswood, with only The Essex arms as a challenger. Good prices, decent local atmosphere, only moan is there were no pump ales available, all 3 off. That should't be the case on a Friday night with the weekend to come. Would of been 4 stars, but drops to 3 because of this.
