La peor experiencia de colocación que he tenido. Muy pobre té de la tarde, que era la mejor parte de 50 sin alcohol. Pequeños pasteles, pequeños bollos rancios y sándwiches que parecían reciclados. Guarda tus encantos y ve a otro lugar. Esto no pudo haber sido peor

Nice for a wine before the theatre. Perhaps a little more expensive than a pub for the same drink

Popped in to The Stage Door for a pre-show drink and so my mother could sit down rather than waiting outside The Palace Theatre for Les Miserables. Guessing town centre prices but seemed expensive £2.20 for a small bottle of diet coke (200ml)

Having tickets for an evening show we looked to take a pre show meal and approached "The Stage Door" only to be told that due to a matinee performance there was no food available when we arrive which was 5pm ( show started at 7:30 pm. Very poor planning.

This place was really handy for the theatre next door, we were super early so popped in for a drink. So firstly they didn’t have any of the ingredients for either drink (big flash coffee machine but no milk?!) Ingredients were found and the it took about 15 mins to make an Irish coffee, that came in a thimble and wasn’t a Irish coffee, no layers. One gin, (half) and Irish coffee served up within 20mins for £17.00??? Nice setting but won’t go back.

We were gifted tickets to the comedy club event, when we arrived the place was packed and felt very crammed in. There was nowhere else to sit but right on the front row, practically on the comedian's lap, I felt like my legs were getting in the way of the performance. The gig was fantastic, couldn't fault it and was extremely funny. Drink prices on the other hand were nothing to laugh at! £12 for a small wine and a cider in a plastic cup. not impressed. The couple next to us had paid £16 for a double gin and tonic. I don't believe this is simply down to 'city prices,' just greed

Visited here prior to attending a performance at the Palace theatre, which tends to be the trend with most people in there. Ordered 2 glasses of wine which came to over £17.00 which I think is very expensive for the style of venue. Will probably go for a pre-theatre drink somewhere else next time.

Had a meal pre theatre. Menu limited and uninspiring. Decor and surroundings good with attentive waitress team. The food was average , nothing special but did what it said on the tin ‘bistro’ so I suppose you get what you pay for. At times there seemed to be a lot of staff standing behind bars without actually doing anything but I suppose it’s all part of a master plan. Probably try somewhere else next time for a pre theatre meal

The food was lovely. The wait was horrendous. 40 minutes for soup starter , then another 30 minutes for mains. As this was a pre theatre meal , what was a birthday treat became very stressful as the show was soon to start. Couldn’t have a sweet as we had to rush out of restaurant for show. Such a shame as the food was good.

I wish I had looked at the reviews before I booked. I honestly thought it was going to be a great idea to eat at the theatre so we could relax, enjoy our meal and be in our seats ready for the show with plenty of time to spare. How wrong was I. We arrived at 5.30 for our meal. The show started at 7.30. Should of had plenty of time. The restaurant was only half full but think half an hour passed before our food order was taken then it was another half hour before we got any food. Our waitress then disappeared altogether, we had to go and find someone to take our dessert order. By this time it was after 7 o'clock. Still no urgency from the staff to get us sorted so we didn't miss the start of the show. By the time our desserts arrived there wasn't enough time to eat them so they were left half eaten. Now it advertises "pre theatre dining" so surely the whole idea is to make sure that the food is served and can be eaten in plenty of time for the start of the show. This didn't happen. I'm sorry but we wont be back🙁

Unfortunately I had only chosen two of the main courses that I would like to eat from the Stage Door Bistro menu. Sadly those two were not available. I opted for sausage and mash. Instant mash that is. Although the sausages we good and the gravy was really gravy. The Mrs had a frozen pizza judging by the water on top. The deserts were good and nicely presented. For 50 quid a bottle of wine and few drinks for 3 peeps what do you want? Home made!

We chose this venue for a gathering of friends who all work in theatre industry so we thought it would be a fab venue. My friend tried to reserve some tables, but they said it would be fine, and checked by phone and email if there would be disabled access, as one of our party was in a wheelchair. They told her it would be fine. When we arrived at the venue, there was no disabled access whatsoever, we asked how our friend could get in, and he was told he couldn't. After a rather unpleasant exchange, one of our party insisted that they get a ramp, and they said they would, but we would have to wait, because there is only one ramp in the venue, and the theatre goers were using it. So our disabled friend was left waiting in the torrential rain, and was even told to move because he was 'in the way'. Eventually we got him in, and the manager apologised. Unfortunately I overheard another woman (a manager from another part of the venue?) having a moan about us which was lovely.Drinks are ridiculously over-price, £7 for a glass of wine, and that was the cheap option. The venue is lovely to look at, but I don't think it's appropriate that a fully grown man needs to give a 10 minute warning to go to the loo or the bar by himself.

I wish I would have read other readers comments on here before booking! Firstly, this is not the place to go if anyone in your group has mobility issues as there are a number of steep stairs to climb and no lift! We arrived not long after it opened for dinner, prior to the show starting 110 minutes later. The service from the kitchen was very slow and we had to ask the waitress on numerous occasions about when the food would arrive as we were going to the show - I guess that is the whole idea of pre theatre dining. We had to rush eating the food which took away the enjoyment. Having experienced pre theatre dining at other venues, this place has a lot to learn.

We booked a pre theatre dinner for 6.30 with our performance beginning at 7.30. We mentioned this at booking and on arrival. Staff could not have been more welcoming and smiley and showed us straight to our table. Our waitress said we only had 5 minutes left of the double cocktail for the price of one deal but not to worry as we had arrived before 6.30.We ordered two Kir Royales straight away ( great value at £8 the two) and a couple of minutes later ordered the burger I had seen recommended in TA and my wife ordered the pulled pork on brioche. Kir Royales were great but the food didn't arrive until after 7.10. First thing to say is both dishes were delicious and my chips were hot and crispy. Wifes sweet potato chips were only warm and a bit soggy in texture. The problem was we had to throw the food down and I was defeated at 7.25 leaving a quarter of my burger uneaten which is testament to how juicy and meaty the burger was but I couldn't eat it any faster.I felt sorry for the waitresses who apologised numerous times for the delay and we heard other tables complaining. I thought an other wise almost perfect meal was spoiled by the inability of the kitchen to get the food to us for nearly 45 minutes. Billy Elliot afterwards somewhat made up for our disappointment. So my 4 rating is a bit generous and could have been a 5 save the sweet potato chips and the rushing. The staff apologised that Chef was under a lot of pressure that night so I will give the benefit of doubt. I would go again but make sure on booking and arrival that we would not accept this service level again. Cost £29.00 including the two KR's (recommended)

My boyfriend and I came here and went up to The Bistro for a pre-theatre dinner. We were greeted warmly and shown to a nice quiet table as requested. Our waitress, Sam, advised us of the menu availability and took our drinks order. She was very pleasant throughout the service, knowledgeable, attentive and personalable. We took advantage of the two course offer - £12.99. The options were reasonable, five or six in each section. For starters, my boyfriend had Grilled Halluomi served with bread, rocket and sweet chilli sauce. Whilst he enjoyed it, he feels it was pretty bland and undersized. I had the baked camenbert served with rocket and foccacia, which I really enjoyed, but the two small pieces of bread were not sufficient given the generous portion of the cheese so had to request more. For mains we both opted for the classic 100% Aberdeen Angus burger. The burgers were thick and juicy and the brioche light and fluffy, but there was nothing too special about them. The sweet potato fries which accompanied them whilst tasty, we are big soggy. Given that we were going to a show we didn't really has time to get them changed. Regarding the drinks, my cider was fine but the size of a glass of coke in relation to the cost was pitiful. So to summarise.Ambiance - greatService - lovely, can't faultFood & drink - A bit lack lustreValue - not terrible

I booked for afternoon tea for my friend and I on Saturday, we were going to the ballet at the theatre and thought it would make it an extra special treat, it is advertised as a very special Slattery's afternoon tea. We got there at 5.45pm and were shown our table in the corner, a pot of tea brought over, staff friendly and helpful, so far so good. Then the 'afternoon tea' arrived, tiny cakes, a few very ordinary sandwiches and scones that looked like they had just been brought in from Sainsburys across the road, but the best bit and this was £15 per head, the sandwiches were so stale I wouldn't have had the nerve to serve them if they were going free. We called a member of staff over and explained that we thought that this was not acceptable, and the whole lot looked like it had been sat waiting around all day, he was very apologetic and offered us a free drink etc but we were driving and had to refuse, also we had already drunk quite a bit of tea. He said that Slattery's had not sent any sandwiches so he had gone out and bought some himself... is that not misrepresentation? Anyway we said that we would leave it and could we have our money back, course not as straightforward as that, had to be credited back to my credit card which I had already paid, spent another 20 minutes in the box office while they tried to credit it back, because it was by then too late to go anywhere else my friend nipped across the road to Sainsburys and bought a donut, so much for our treat. Really spoiled our day, we had been looking forwards to it for ages, felt very let down, both by the bar and especially by Slattery's who are supposed to be something special!

Before my daughter and I saw the matinee performance of Jersey Boys we took advantage of the special offer on afternoon teas that the Stage Door has at the moment. These have to be pre- booked and paid for in advance. Our table was ready for us and our choice of tea served straight away. Each afternoon tea was presented on an individual 3 tiered cake stand. Everything was delicious. We were told that anything we could not manage we could take home in a box. There was no chance of this happening, we were not going to leave anything!! We were offered a second pot of tea when we had finished our first. This is a lovely touch as we have sampled lots of afternoon teas and, usually, there are no refills. I definitely recommend this place.
