Wow! A real hidden gem of a place. It's just off the main Stourbridge to Bridgnorth road and down a country lane, then suddenly you're in a peaceful paradise. We had been recommended to visit by friends and are so glad we did. Everything was faultless. We had a very warm and friendly welcome on arrival. We hadn't booked but this was not a problem, they went out of their way to see if they could fit us in. As it was a glorious warm and sunny day we opted to sit outside in the beautiful grounds overlooking a field where horses were grazing. You could hear a pin drop! All of the staff were so friendly and lovely to chat to. As for the food... delicious, homemade, generous portions and excellent value for money. We had a ploughmans and a tuna sandwich, which came with the most delicious homemade coleslaw you will ever taste! We both had desserts too, rude not to! Apple pie and bread pudding, both with custard, just like my mom used to make! We could have stayed there all afternoon and we were made to feel that we were welcome to! Absolutely perfect.

We were on our way home to Herefordshire on the Bridgenorth road feeling hungry and thirsty when we saw the sign for The Stables tearoom on the main road - and how lucky that we did! A short drive down a country lane brings you to this little gem of a place. Although in the middle of nowhere, it was busy with people who know a good thing when they see it. The welcome from the owners was exceptional and we were treated with friendliness and smiles throughout. Although they were busy, our lunch of paninis served with salad, coleslaw and tortilla chips was quickly delivered, was delicious and just what we needed. Their prices are very reasonable too! We'll definitely come again next time we're in the area. Thank you!

Ended up passing by here and popped in, a lovely place with a lovely setting, the staff were friendly and the food looked good, however they only deal with cash and don’t take card! And because of this we had to leave and find somewhere else to eat. Even though we were only going to get ice cream, we left without. I’m not going to leave a bad review, However in this day and age they should get with the times and accept card transactions.

What a gem The Stables Tea Room is. The most lovely setting, stunning home cooked food and a welcome that most Michelin star restaurants aren’t able to offer. Myself and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the food and company. Such genuine lovely hosts. So lucky to have this on the doorstep.

I visited for the first time today with a mixed group of grown up and young children. What a treat! I called to book in advance which was sensible and we sat outside. They were kind to advise that they only accept cash and I was grateful for being prepared. I did not know cheese toasties with onion marmalade on crunchy malt bread could be so incredibly delicious. The cakes and scones were also beautiful and handmade. The service was friendly, warm and personable. Thank you so much. We had a lovely time and appreciated the thought and care shown throughout.

It is often difficult to find somewhere with the right combination of easy access to the door & within especially with an elderly person, then when seated finding something on the menu that everyone would like to eat. Good selection of snacks that were all well presented, tasty & decent sized portions all at a reasonable price. I pre booked via email with a quick response, noted on arrival that several tables had been reserved, which I take as a good sign & was useful that we did not have to stand around with an older person. For us, congratulations The Stables Tea Rooms ticked all the right boxes!!

The range of food was excellent, quality home cooked options at great value prices. The bill was lower than I had anticipated. Owner initially thought we had not paid (we had) he apologised and then came after us with a free ecclescake, not often you find this level of service. Try it yourself you won't be disappointed!

This was the first time we visited and we didn’t feel welcome. When we arrived, we embraced a friend and we hadn’t realised that we were blocking a couple trying to enter the cafe with a lady in a wheelchair. It was brought to our attention by a member of staff who told us to move down the cafe in an impatient and rude manner as if we were being purposefully ignorant. This was the same couple who we had offered assistant to moments before in the car park so the approach from the staff member was misjudged and uncalled for. We took ourselves to another part of the cafe and sat in the conservatory which was uncomfortably hot and was the final reason we decided to leave. We also paid for 2 teas and received the same small tea pot as our single serving friend but with 2 tea bags. The cake was very good but the experience was spoilt by the customer service and for the tea. I rarely leave comments unless a place is amazing but in this case, it was the opposite. This cafe is a converted house in a neighbourhood where their regulars appear to be their neighbours.

Was a little bit dubious going down the signposted road but soon opens up to a lovely quaint area with pinic areas and inside seating. We had coffees and teas and its a lovely touch they are refillable. Lovely surrounds with bird, dogs and horses. Didnt have food but saw it coming past and it looked nice and seems popular. On recommendation, my mum and I decided to visit The Stables to see for ourselves. Surrounded by lovely countryside, this tea room really is a hidden gem. Although easy to miss the sign on the main road we were surprised how many visitors there were and the place was almost full. Option of sitting either indoors near a fire should you choose, further into the tea room or in the conservatory which has a gorgeous view including horses and doves. Prompt, friendly service, excellent value for money and our lunches were delicious. Our pot of tea for two was topped up with hot water so the tea kept flowing. Disabled access and toilets both available which made it easier for my mum who uses a walking stick. Loved the stables that are still in situ adjacent to the tea room plus the story behind the building. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning.

Lovely small café , hidden down a country lane , ideal if you want a quiet cuppa and some peace, plenty of outdoor sitting areas, but a little small inside , id estimate about room for 20 or so , so does get busy and crowded on wet or cold days , we'd arrived by bike and ive been here several times in the last couple of years. We decided to sit out the front, but were distracted by the owners dog, barking continuously being tied to a door post nearby. We moved around the back and sat out on the lawn. I have to say service is quite slow , so don't go if you have a tight schedule , The owner is not that friendly , passes the time of day with you , but that about it really. oh at the time we went we were told that they don't open on Sundays , which is a shame as our large group of cyclists (25+)are always out on Sundays and always stop for coffee and cake. Summing up to make this place even better would be to open Sundays, be more friendlier, and do something about that dog.

I'm glad to say Mark is overwhelmed at his customer loyalty he opened on the Tuesday at 10am and enjoyed his best ever week. Not been here before but it came highly recommended. We visited on a Saturday when it was very warm and sunny so the place was very busy. There is ample parking as you will probably have to drive there. On arrival we went to place our order and were informed that it would be a long wait for our food (simple paninis) and drinks to come. They were clearly overwhelmed, even though not all the seating areas or tables were occupied. We had a long wait but we were sitting outside in the sun in very pleasant surroundings. The staff were rushed off their feet but delightful and very clear and apologetic about the wait. You can book a table but it is a bit soul destroying to come in and not find somewhere to sit with tables empty and booked - a time of the booking was helpfully marked on them though. This is a wonderfully unique place with lots of quirky details and it is clear that the owners and staff work really hard and do their best for clients - they just need a bit more help to really make this place a bit more of a 'thoroughbred' earning five stars. You will enjoy your visit there and we hope to go again as it is a great place to take guests and visitors (and children too) but just check they are not too busy or it may take a bit longer than you bargained for.

We booked our usual table which we have had since Lisa and Mark openedOur treat is once a fortnight and never once have we said the experience as changed.Mark and Lisa Tina Abigail are a inspiration to team work. This Saturday was a wonderful sunny day and our thoughts before we arrived were one of trepidation. We knew instinctively that it would rammed out and although they cope very well this was a true stress test.Mark Lisa Tina Abigail never let you down.Consistency is the word. When we arrived Mark was assisting a wheelchair user and partner into the tea room.He looked at us his words not mine(we have been slaughtered today had to turn so many people away)What a problem well to Mark he hates that this oasis they have developed will always be comfortable and a truly felt joy.He explained to people it would be at least a hours wait .A new customer said we only want 4 coffees.Mark said to be honest your wait will still be a hour I have 15 orders before yours and only have one coffee machine.Honesty is a rare commodity Mark is so passionate about his business he fears it will lead to negative reviews.I hope this does not happen. Why this tearoom is not rated number one bemuses me.No other tearoom gets the full 5stars.The only way anyone will be sure to get a table is to book mines booked for the rest of the year. The place is special and Mark and Lisa will make sure it carry's on in this wayUnfortunately I could not rate it 5stars the website would not let !e but it is 5 for everything

On Saturday the 15th me and my partner went for a lovely stroll through the fields and Hills at the back of Bridgnorth we came upon the stables tea room which was a refreshing break and give us time to relax before we made our way back the food was very good and the staff are very polite and helpful it was not quite warm enough to sit outside but they did look like a lovely garden to sit in the family the sun has been shining but inside it was fine very clean with a nice little open fire to look forward to in the colder days to come so we have market on our map and we'll be revisiting plenty of times hope you do too and hope you all enjoy as much as we did thanks to the stables tea room staff

Have visited this tea room several times and we have never been let down. A nice menu selection of fresh cooked food and a nice selection of cakes. It is great when the weather is fine to sit outside and enjoy the country side and its views. The hosts a very welcoming and can't do enough to help.

My mum and I regularly have lunch on a Saturday at the Stables. It is a fabulous place in a lovely location serving great food. The Victoria sponge is as light as air. The best thing about it is Mark and the family who make you feel so welcome. In the summer it is great to sit outside and watch next doors rare breed chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys to mention a few. I particularly like Fernando, the Indian runner duck as he is so comical. This is a firm favourite and highly recommended

Always a pleasure to go to the Stables. The added capacity from the conservatory has made such a difference, and today the weather was even good enough for us to sit in the garden. Food always excellent, as is the service, and not too long to wait, even on a good day. A very decent menu for a venue of this size. Mark and the team always make everyone feel so welcome.

I was given gift voucher for The Stables Tea Room. How glad am I that I was. Not far out of Bridgnorth and set in beautiful countryside. Really friendly staff. Lovely homemade food. The ploughmans was really good value with ham, porkpie, cheese and beautiful fresh bread. Couldn't fault it. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area. Dog friendly too in the garden eating area.

My mother and father in-law look so much to their fortnightly visit to The Stables. It was Kens 88 birthday last week and the place was at full pelt.Apparently it had started with a queue at 10 oclock opening then the arrival of 16 cyclists.Endless on slaught according to Tina.We arrived our usual time 2-30 our table only just vacated but beautiful and clean.Mark was in his shorts running in and out with great gusto. The service and quality 100%.How the team keep this up is beyond me and the obvious success well earned. What was amazing even with the place at full stretch Mark Lisa Tina and Abbey came around with a little cake with a candle on and sang happy birthday. This place is special because that's what the owners set out to do.Thanks to the team for creating this special oasis

We visited this tea shop a few weeks ago.The setting is beautiful and there are lots of places to sit.You can sit inside or in the conservatory or outside looking over at the chickens. The cakes are on the counter to see.Being a small family run place there isn't a huge amount of choice. We ordered a cream tea but we were quite disappointed when it arrived. The scone wasn't very big,the jam and cream served was enough for two scones, but the very tiny teapot that arrived really was a teapot for one not two.Saying that this is a lovely place.

We had planned to stop here for a quick cup of tea on the way home from a day out - we went out of our way to get to The Stables as I had been told how lovely it was. Checked website - said 'Open until 4 pm' - got there at 3.20 pm - it was CLOSED. Very disappointed .

Stopped for coffee en route on recommendation of friends, so good stopped on return. Good service from friendly owners who serve drinks and snacks/light meals. Just off 'the beaten track' in a beautiful position with a good car park.

I'm limited mobility, due to a broken ankle and wrist. I found this place through a search engine ("Birmingham, disabled, tearoom"). It was a bit of a challenge to find, but well worth the effort. Prompt, efficient service, food and drink lovely - and nicely presented. Most relaxing, listening to the birdsong and enjoying the tranquil surroundings (sitting on a picnic table outside). The staff were very helpful (I get around on a walking frame) in assisting my partner to bring the car close enough for me and in holding doors, etc.

What a truly wonderful little place. Tucked away in glorious countryside, cleverly decorated and serving scrumptious home made cakes. This will have to become a regular stopping off place for us on trips up and down the country. Worth every one of the few miles off the main road.

I found this tea room on Tripadvisor so decided to visit today in the sunshine and I wasn't disappointed. Friendly staff, good sized car park, fabulous tasty food which is reasonably priced and beautiful calming views of chickens, horses and fields. I would highly recommend the Victoria sponge cake :) My only gripe would be there is no baby change table or not one that I could see.

My Husband and I visited this tearoom a few weeks ago. We got lost trying to find it, so I phoned the owner to get the postcode, however being in the countryside, I got cut off. They promptly called us back and we finally made it. I think that is so showing how much they really appreciate their customers, many places would not make that effort. We were met by lovely owners in a wonderful setting with absolutely delicious food! The ham and mustard toastie on granary bread was the best I've ever eaten followed by a moreish caramel cake and a piping hot cappuccino! I can't wait for our next visit, at least we won't get lost this time!

We were told about the Stables so decided to visit for afternoon tea. The welcome we had when we got there was lovely. The room is really welcoming. The service and the food were first class. We'll certainly be visiting again with friends. There's a good outside area which when the weather improves would be lovely to sit in.

We visited the Stables for the first on Good Friday time having been recommended. We booked a table as we didn't want to be disappointed. So glad we did!! It was busy to say the least. There is a great Menu - I couldn't decide and a special Menu too. What can I say delicious!! We ordered Lasagne, Panini, and Pastie and various hot and cold drinks. We cleared our plates. We couldn't leave without another drink and piece of cake. What can I say, ticked all the boxes. Only negative for me we did have to wait a while for our food, about 45 minutes and had to remind the waitress we were still waiting. The owner was very apologetic and thanked us for being patient. People did however, seem arrive after us that were served much quicker. I can only assume regulars. Not deterred by this really. It was nice to see family working together and a delightful polite boy helping out too. Will be definitely be back soon.

Called in today for a nice lunch, but very dark and uninviting, could it be closed ? Once we were inside we were informed that only coffee was available, no food whatsoever. Having looked at Facebook reviews this place looked great but it turned out to be a waste of a journey so we spent our money elsewhere and will not try again. Very disappointing.

All were hot and delicious. What a treat to have a home delivery and be able to enjoy food without the washing up.Highly recommended if you live in or near Ludlow. Thanks to Chef Nick, the lovely Deborah and of course, Tim.

My husband and I (with our dog) stopped here for lunch on our way to Hodnet Gardens. We obviously had to sit in the bar area due to our dog being with us, but this was a lovely quiet little area which suited us fine. The food was beautiful - we both had a starter and a main, and the quality was fantastic. If we are in the area again, we will definitely be back!
