Great friendly staff, plenty selection of drinks and the food is amazing!

Choose this pub at it is hallway from my daughters and ours and dog friendly, what a brilliant choice the food was very good and staff polite and friendly would definitely recommend.

Nice pub garden will be great in the summer nice food

We didn't have any food, just popped in there for a couple of drinks and ended up staying there till closing. Friendly team, efficient at collecting glasses.

We attended the Go Nuts Again festival at the weekend. Miranda and her team worked so hard and we all had a fantastic time. We were made to feel so welcome. The Squirrels pub is such a pleasant and friendly place to go to. Everyone worked so hard to put on an amazing event. We were always served with a smile. Hopefully we will be back next year for our 3rd? We will definitely see you before then though!

Hi nice place but Sunday menu was a bit poor on the selection side of food

I was with my 2 friends yesterday one of whom wrote a review about my friend being accused of having a fake ID. Reading the owners response it’s no surprise that the ‘GM’ is just as entitled and passive aggressive. As adults we understand that IDs have to be checked thoroughly. However, Hayley loudly told my friend and the entire pub that her Id was fake and that she was lying about her age. The issue for me and my friends wasn’t the questioning of an ID (that wasn’t fake) but Hayleys’ tone and manner. It was very aggressive and after ignoring my friends other forms of ID she didn’t even have the respect or manners to give the ID back to my friend herself but very badly hid around the corner without even an apology. As someone who also works in a pub I find it completely absurd that an owner would write such a demeaning response when my friend was left embarrassed, upset and without an apology. The majority of your staff who I assume are young adults (excluding the ‘GM’) had made it clear to us that the behaviour Hayley displayed was unhelpful and rude. I’d hope you don’t speak to your staff the way you have replied to my friends honest review. I’d suggest to anyone under the age of 25 to stay clear as you may be singled out and shamed for having a real driving license! Best wishes

Disgusted by the managers people skills and common sense. Hayley stole my 20 year old friends old driving license and insisted it was fake. It was not.Once realising she had backed herself into a corner, she started lying and saying my friend had extra letters and numbers so even if it was real it was invalid. After bringing my friend to tears, she refused to come and hand over the (real) ID and ran off upstairs still trying to prove her point. All the other members of staff were clearly embarrassed. She should really evaluate if this is the job for her, if she can’t even treat people with basic respect. Love from the lengest girls in NN xxxx

A very friendly and nice place with a good choice of ales and a good food menu

Haven't been here for years. It was delightful, food was good, very reasonable prices and staff were excellent.

It was ok I think the staff needed to have some training on how to smile & a little chat...that wouldn't go a miss, We were sitting in the bar & my husband went to get a drink and he fell up the silly step flat on his face cut his head..the girl did bring him a serviette over to him but didn't seem interested, that step should be more prominent looking from a distance the floor just looks flat...

A very welcoming pub. Been many times and will be going many more times. It always seems busy and there is a lot of entertainment. I have always enjoyed myself there.

After spending the Afternoon in The squirrel For fathers day meal and 60th Birthday for 12 of us meant to be having a meal 1. Starters came out burnt 2. Waited over 2 hours for main courses which did not appear together then food was cold on one plate, 3. Food was frozen on another 4. A family member was burnt on a supper hot bowl 4.Rest of food did not come out when o complained to manager and said this wasn’t exceptable was told what do you want me to do with which the manager was unhappy and very off with myself in which I asked for a refund. Shame the managers attitude with zero customer service Fathers Day ruined along with 50th Birthday celebrations I will be taking this complaint further Avoid this place Shame as pub is very nice inside but service and food lets it down

Decent village pub. Plenty of staff on a Friday night, meant I was served quick. Large garden too and good choice of beers.

Last Friday we celebrated our wedding reception here and wow wow wow what a day to remember 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 10 hours of fun fun fun of champagne welcome, beautiful decorations in restuarant, tasty food followed by 🔝 DJ dancing us through the night with fun karaoke slotted in between 💪💪 I started the planning process over 6 months ago and the manager Miranda was absolutely amazing planning this event and being so flexible in making this a day we will never forget…… additionally her squirrels team provided service of the highest level throughout 🩵🩵 a big thank you and huge shout out to the Squirrels simply 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great pub great food great staff. Was served by Spud who was very helpful and attentive to our needs.

It's always a pleasure when visiting the Squirrels, wether for food, a drink or when there's live music on. Highly recommend.

I have been going to the squirrels for years, attending a variety of events such as meetups, live sports, birthdays, New Year's parties, Christmases, and wakes. For most of those times, there has been less staff available for planned events than there was today. However, they handled it well, just as they did today, and fair play to them. Today, after bidding farewell to a loved one, we chose to visit our local pub, just seconds away from our dear Gran's house. We didn't order food and only placed drink orders; it wasn't a wild night by any means. It's unfortunate that there was a need to post on their official business page calling out a mourning family - a local one at that, but that post has since been removed. We even brought our glasses to the bar because that's the kind of people we are. I have never had issues with the service here, but they have lost my 16 years of loyalty. Disgusting.

I won’t lie, this is my local. In the last few years this place has been turned around and given a new lease of life. The food is good and the service friendly. Always a pleasure to visit the pub.

Great atmosphere - really cosy with the fire. Private seating corners and outdoor area with entertainment screen which seals the deal in the summer.

TOILET REVIEW : 2 stalls ladies bathroom spotless, really clean and smelled nice. Toiletries provided as a nice touch. The only issue is there was a clean check sheet but it was rarely updated (every few days) and it's last entry was 10/11. Basically defeats the point of a clean check sheet.

Cant believe how far this place has fallen, used to be a welcoming pub, good food and enjoyable evening out, went in for a pint today, only a couple of people sat at the bar, went through to what was the restuarant to watch the football scores, and was amazed to see 3 young lads who didnt appear old enough to be drinking, openly smoking in front of the barmaid who didnt seem at all bothered, went into the bar as the smell of smoke was overwhelming to find 4 other lads again not appearing old enough to drink sat in the corner, again the bar staff didnt seem bothered. Wont be seeing the inside of this place again i am glad to say, very sad to see what was a nice pub become such a sorry place to go. I wrote this review about 11 months ago and was asked by the new owners to go back and see the changes they have made, I have now been back twice this month and am glad to say that the changes are obvious, nicely decorated, much better atmosphere both in the pub and the garden which is much improved, you need patience at the bar which surely is a good thing as it means people are returning to the pub because of the changes made, no annoying under age drinkers smoking, a far better mature clientele, we had the Sunday dinner today which was nice, we shall return to try the normal menu but so far, very impressed.

Popped in at lunchtime during the week. Food and service really good; would go back! Car park is small though so if driving you may need to find alternative parking.

Firstly I want to say the when talking to the staff they are lovely, but that’s all I can say about today. I wanted to have dinner with my children and not cook after the weekend with there dad so it was half five when we arrived. There was a band on and it was so loud you could barely talk. I asked if food was still available and they said yes, no roast dinner and the wait is half an hour. Well the wait was just over an hour and the food was disgusting.other Greene king do the two for 12. And that food should be the same but this was awful. My pie was still cold in parts , the mash looked like it had been mixed with gelatine. When we tried to speak to someone we couldn’t get any help because it was to noisy. I like the owner and would not normally write something but it was just awful. Great pub for drinks and entertainment but awful for food and food service. Friendly pub that has a good selection of beers on tap, and for our party most importantly, Sky Sports was available for the Monday night Premier League game. All in all a good experience.

Went to see kick start great band. Was busy but they had enough bar staff on so you didn't wait long for a pint . Great place

Great place one of the nicest pubs in Northampton

We thought we'd give the pub another try as we heard they had improved and changed their staff. I was hopeful Unfortunately, the place has not improved for a few reasons: - knowledge of staff... when asking for a dark porter, we were offered a dark rum. We were hoping this would have improved, but what surprised us was the extra issues below - the bar area was out of control, main areas of "traffic" blocked by children playing - dogs roaming freely around the gardens looking for scraps of food - with the noise of screaming children and shouting drunk parents, it was just unbearable Clearly, the pub is positioned as a place for parents to bring their children whilst having a drink.

Really nice pub...food was good quality and the young girl waitress was lovely.

Lovely pub. Chilled atmosphere, and lovely friendly staff. They always look after us when I come in with my two children,I'm heavily pregnant and they are so helpful! Food is always delicious and fast service. Play park is perfect and the decor is lovely.

1 star for kids meals being well priced but otherwise food was a disappointment given how great the menu looks. The rump steak sandwiches were well below par, cold and looked like it had been slapped together by a child. Bar staff were really good, the guys who were serving the food were obviously young and don’t have the best communication skills to deal with problems that may arise working in the food and beverage industry. Lovely pub set up, friendly to all but a disappointing experience.

First time visiting and really enjoyed the live music they have on Friday evenings. Looking forward to visiting again. Good variety of drinks.

Fantastic Decor and furnishings inside and out. Lovely bar garden with nice seating both in sun and shade with TV for football etc. Played nice game of Snooker too- Machine is contactless £1.50 so don't need to worry about having enough coins.

Booked this venue for a family get together to celebrate a birthday, all 23 of us were well looked after, understandably due to numbers we had to pre-order the food. The kitchen and waiting staff were fantastic ,getting it all out on the tables at the same time, no complaints from anyone in the group. A great evening was had by all, thank you Squirrel staff for making it a great night.

As a regular, I think we had eaten our way through the menu. It was refreshing to see a new menu, with such choice. After ordering five separate new dishes, we were not disappointed. All cooked fresh and very tasty. As always, service was impeccable.

Food was fantastic. Some new tasty looking dishes on the menu that were delicious. Staff very frequently and welcoming. Great atmosphere. Will be back again soon 😊😊

Had my first Sunday gig here.. never been in this pub before. I had no idea it was a greenking. It has been fantastically refurbished. The Food was amazing and the staff a fab!! This place is very up market, perfect for a quiet catch up, date night or all day drinking session! Can't wait to come in the summer as the garden looks amazing! Would recommend!

Went for dinner Saturday night with son in law and grandsons. I was quite surprised by how welcoming the staff were and the standard of the food. The prices were extremely competitive aswell. Well done all, will definitely go back.

Met a friend for lunch and we were warmly greeted on arrival. We had our two Labradors with us so it was great that the dog friendly area had plenty of space around the tables. We all chose from the seniors menu, the choice was excellent and more than enough food on the plates. The staff are all friendly and the service is superb.

Having booked a table for 4 at 5pm.we arrived to find our allocated table was a tiny window table .There were other empty tables that we assumed were also booked.But we seemed to be the only people dining. When the food arrived the only food reasonably warm was the fish and chips.The Hunters Chicken was barely warm .The chips on the Burgers were cold but this only noticed after I had queued at up at the bar to comment on the chicken meal. Very curt response from the member of staff and the poor lad who was food server unfortunately had no clue. All in all a treat for our visiting Grandaughters lasted less than an hour from ordering to leaving the premises . Such a shame as we love using the pub side of this business

Having used the pub for drinking only and been more that satisfied, we decided to take 2 grand daughters for dinner Unfortunately it was not a good experience Having booked a table for 5pm we arrived early ,our table was very tiny.We assumed larger tables were also reserved so made the most of being cramped. Food was ordered just before 5pm. When food arrived the fish and chips were edible but the Huntets Chicken was cold and very dry.as the girls were in the toilet it was only when they got back to the table we realised that their burgers and chips were also cold.My chicken had already been sent back so as not to make a fuss the girls ate what they could.The replacement meal was hot but very unappealing.As we saw no other meals come out of the kitchen whilst we were there there should be no excuse for poor meals. The discount on the meals was appreciated but should not have had to happen. Poor quality food for the price. We left the pub at 6pm. Very disappointed

We come to our local pub for a quick drink and we were greeted with 2 lovely staff members, Andrew and Nadine, both who catered for us really well, went above and beyond with customer service. We are very happy with our time spent at the Squirrels and will definitely be returning!

Miranda and the Team have made massive changes to this pub and made it into a welcoming place to come for a drink with a great atmosphere and weekly events feom disco bingo to live acts.

Fantastic place. I walked i today and first thing I noticed was how immaculate the cleaning was, it was so clean! The bar tender served me polite and smiling. It was very quiet but it is Monday afternoon. They have great funky furniture and artwork on the walls about the history of the northampton town. The lager is a good price as the whiskey. The toilets are clean and tidy. I looked over the food menu and the prices seem really good for a pub. Didn’t eat so can’t comment but the menu is good with food for all. Pool table, gambling/fruit machines/dart board and TVs in the seating area. I guess for sport? Nice place ❤️❤️❤️

Really enjoyed my afternoon at this pub/restaurant. Went for some food with some mates and the menu was amazing, great choices and the burger was cooked to perfection. Great selection of beers for all drinkers. TVS showing the sports in both sides and a pool table which is always a bonus. Big outside seating area with an additional TV which will be lovely when the weather gets better but also saw a couple of sheltered tables for all weathers. Staff very friendly and helpful Highly recommend

Great to see this pub firmly back where it belongs, team were run off their feet but smiling and friendly throughout. Service very quick and professional and a mix of guests from young to old, just what a community pub should be!

We came for disco bingo on wednesday and it was so much fun! The staff were great, the food was brilliant & the land lady just makes the whole atmosphere complete. Would definitely recommend a game but make sure to book bingo it was packed!

Maybe change the times on your website of your not going to stick to them Also this was on a Saturday NOT a Sunday In response to the coment from the pub below..I asked the owner of the pub for food, she spoke to who I presume was the kitchen manager or chef, so I had spoken to the right person.
