Costa Coffee in Northampton

Carvery was lovely but for me I like my veg cooked a little more.

Very poor service , the lady at the counter was so rude , seems like she just woke up from an nightmare , very appalled 😱

This Costa franchise is situated inside the Weston Favell Shopping Centre on the main concourse. Decent coffee and a very predictable choice. The service was very efficient and the seating area was very clean and tidy.

I would like to say what lovely people work here had the manager Maria Who made sure there was no sugar in what I ordered for my diabetes mum ! She went out of her way to check what a lovely lady! Very professional and friendly!!!

Rude member of staff. "Wendy" We went as a family to costa to have breakfast my family came from aboard and I did want to show them costa coffee. Unfortunately was bad experience from start to finish.

So rude. Don't bother. Treat yourself to a coffee machine and make the coffee YOU want. I did. Best investment.

They need to learn how to make a double macchiato. Always I need to stop them when they put milk. Even one person didn't done it properly. I'm talking about the Costa opposite Tesco. You need to spoon 2-3 teaspoons of the foam on top of the espresso (discard the rest of the milk), not to put milk on it.

Today one of the ladies, i think her name was Wendy, wasn't very glad to see us as customers, no smile, smirking, rolling her eyes, raising her voice, and wouldn't us finish our order she kept telling me how much I had to pay. If you want to see a poor service come and see Wendy in Costa Weston favell. If not bothered, why not leave Wendy?

Abysmal sandwich, abysmal coffee and abysmal service!

The town centre was in utter chaos today due to a bombscare. The girls in there did an AMAZING job serving us all and it was VERY busy! Just wanted to say a big thank you for how well you managed and for keeping all us retail workers spirits up!

Staff are friendly and the service is good but not the fastest. They methodically process your orders diligently without mistakes in my experience, but definitely not as fast as the guys on Abington Street.

All I can say is that the prices are good and the drinks are delicious and to top it of the staff are 100% friendly definitely coming bk for more well done to the staff

I have no idea what’s going on here. I’ve come back to Costa for a drink after Christmas and they still have no cups in Northampton. I know they had piping issues but this has been months now. Why can’t they sort it out

Had an accident with our tray of food when the table topped. Wendy and Nando were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. All was cleared away. New food and drink was sorted and they gave my granddaughter an ice pack as some of the hot coffee caught her. Fantastic service. Thank you so much.

I went to Costa Coffee in Weston Favell shopping centre with the intention to order a couple of drinks on a Saturday afternoon. I was told by the barista that they had no more cream. Fair enough, it happens, and I joked that the cream is what makes the drink. A customer behind me laughed. The barista started putting on an attitude saying "I only work here" etc etc. Two things are evident: one, the barista needs to lighten up and find a sense of humour. And two, he needs training on how to speak to customers. Needless to say, I walked out without purchasing anything.

First of all, this adverse review in not directed at the staff on duty when we visited, who were doing a sterling job, under pressure and under-staffed. We have been visitors here for many years - a regular feature of our Thursday mornings with a succession of pre-school age grandchildren. Over the last few months, there has been an increasing “presence” of delivery service orders which reached an unacceptable peak at our last visit. With only two staff members instead of the normal three, the team was already under pressure but if all they had to do was to serve the face to face customers, all would no doubt have been fine. However, they were hit with a raft of remote orders and apparently had to give them priority over the physically present customers. When the delivery service person arrived to find the orders not complete, he appeared far from happy & the unfortunate member of staff had to spend even more time attempting to placate him. Costa, if you’re going to participate in the delivery order system, either up your resources or set up some other unit far away from your physical customers! If this unacceptable trend continues, I think that we will become even more frequent visitors to the artisan coffee shop which is closed to home; particularly as their coffee tastes better too.

Had a beverage in here with my mum.. overall very good... Served by a friendly staff member named Christian... would recommend this place 🙂

This coffee shop is the friendly place with the best coffee. The staff are always helpful. Keep up the good work.

Gone down to 4 stars, as slow service and card machine not working

Lovely coffee and friendly barista serving us, but the poor girl was down here alone with a queue out the door throughout our visit. Is it too much to ask to spare one of the extras upstairs, wandering around aimlessly, to help out this cosier version of your Shopping Centre store? As an aside, whoever opened up the store this morning obviously forgot to turn on the music, so we were sat in silence.

Very poor coffee today - really awful. Bitter and sour taste to it - Not the usual standard at all. Waste of money - actually took it back for a refund.

The tuna is weird its exactly the same used in subways after hundreds of complaints must be 5% the rest of the ingredients only god knows...but it shouldn't be called tuna melt.....disgusting taste.

Always stop for a drink after shopping,, many a time have a toasted sandwich too or a muffin Chris, Nando and staff always smiling

Very slow. 6 customers in the queue with only 2 counter staff doing everything, taking orders, preparing coffee, food, etc. But worth the wait.

Covid stopped us having our usual time. But great to get a Costa coffee.

Big standard Costa, nothing special

You need to put up to date papers just grabbed the Metro and its a week out of date not good

Not a particularly clean place, and I was served a coffee in a cracked glass. Which I took back the staff were apologetic and re did my coffee. I have been in cleaner Costa restaurant.

Came here for a flat white and a babychino with my daughter today. Coffee was great and staff were nice. I did clean the table we sat at myself, as it was a bit mucky. Odd when they’d only been open about 10 minutes before we went in.

Poor customer service ,Went to downstairs Costa in Weston favell centre and the customer service is appealing and the girl behiNd the counter was rude and the standard of the coffees ect in Costas is going downhill -you are not gettinG the same quality and service in all Costas -so it can be hit and miss depending on which Costa you go to.SORRY TO SAY IM LOSING INTEREST IN COSTA COFFEE

A shambles. I love Costa but this branch is awful. (Weston favell downstairs) the chai latte was weak. The latte wasn't right. Got charged for things we didn't have. Then to be to told the transaction didn't go through which seemed odd. So had to re-pay. The lady serving us acted like she didn't believe us with a sarcastic "really" The forks were dirty. I say forks as he just continued to get out dirty fork after dirty fork. The young lad was more than apologetic but honestly it just feels like this branch management is overlooked. I always wondered why upstairs was the busier one. Plus if you get cold easily. Don't use this branch as you are in direct line of the main entrance to Weston favell and Costa has a wide entrance with no heating. The staff have to wear fleeces bless them. It's just horrible. No tip from me today.

Just called in with some business partners omg it’s filthy , dirty cloths which I wouldn’t wipe floor with all over work top , spilt milk everywhere , bins overflowing looks like they had been emptied for a week , and the coffee machine , 🤢 staff just standing around . should be closed down it’s disgraceful

It is Costa Coffee, had a dreadful cup of tea, with dirty cups and saucer. Good job I had a clean handkerchief.

Good place for a rest after shopping

I stopped by here for lunch with my daughter. We both had the tuna and cheese panini and after one bite, I remembered I had had it in there before and had vowed never to have it again then. Pity my memory failed me. Like last time, the tuna tasted “fishy”. Yes I know it’s a fish, but tuna shouldn’t taste like that if it’s fresh/good quality. It’s obviously cheap tinned tuna not not a known brand that they use. I’d be interested to know their supplier. I did have a strawberry lemonade though which was nice, albeit overpriced!

At the Costa in the upper Mall of the Weston Favell Centre. The coffee provided was of a poor quality and very bitter in taste.

Late afternoon pitstop so no crowds. Coffee n cake as it should be with good company. Nice selection of cakes and sweet treats on display. We opted for the enclosed cafe on the car park level of the shopping centre. Upstairs on the first floor is the open plan seating so you can people watch whilst indulging.

Staff got order wrong at first but corrected immediately, was apologetic and friendly

It's a typical Costa, no better no worse than any other. In the shopping centre there's an open plan Costa on the first foor and a Costa coffee shop on the ground floor near the lifts.

Note that this review refers to the Costa on the ground floor at Weston Favell - I have not been to the one on the first floor. Poor. Understaffed. Two members of staff on. One is doing something somewhere other than where her customers are.

Never again! Pathetic service from this woman who had absolutely no passion in coffee making. Just palmed me off with a couple of cortadis very poorly prepared. I did complain on the spot but she showed indifference.

My Gingerbread Latte Was Very Nice Creamy Hot and Delicious I Ate The Gingerbread Man On Top First. Go To The Costa Coffee On The Ground Floor By The Lifts If You Want Quiet and Less Stress. This Costa Was Quiet Compared To The Small On The First Floor Near Carphone Warehouse and EE.

Service varies from very slow to very good depending on the staff on duty? Cleanliness is similar. The quality of the coffee and food always excellent.

I went in there after a shopping trip in Weston Favell, this was traumatic enough lol I ordered a black forest hot and a billionaire’s latte cooled drink. They told me they had no white chocolate powder for the billionaire’s latte and would I like dark chocolate powder instead? Weird substitute but I changed to the billionaire’s latte (hot drink). The first black forest hot chocolate was overflowing with whipped cream, even though it was overfilled the girl making it decided to put the lid on it making the drink overflow on to the side of the cup and also coming out of the drink hole on the lid. I asked if she could re cup it so it didn’t spill when going round a corner in my car. She did which was great. However after my 5 minute drive home the hot chocolate was cold and severely lacking in flavour of anything at all. Definitely no black forest hot chocolate which is full of flavour. Very disappointing and I would recommend nobody goes here if you like Costa!

We visited Costa (downstairs) it was a very cold place two out of the five was cold, there was only two girls working —it was quite busy , the girls worked very hard , the young server told me they only have five teapots !!!!!!! Overall it was a ok experience , need more staff and a door on the place the upstairs one is very nice and welcoming

I asked for a napkin after having a toasted tea cake with butter I wanted a napkin...

Sane as all costa serves coffee and cake. The problems here are lack of stock for the volume of footfall and cleanliness. However the biggest problem is the manageress and her rude stinking attitude especially how she talks to the staff and customers. There us other coffee shops just moments away. Unroll she is replaced I recommend using one of them.

Costa means coffee, it does what it says on the cup, plenty of choice of things to eat to have with your fav coffee, table n chair area's are always clean n tidy, can sit and watch other people go about their daily lives while people watching and drinking your fav cuppa.....

I go here regularly, bevause I know all the staff make my caramel latte- not to warm perfectly every time. Also the staff are genuinely hospitable and professional.

i always get my latte to go here, its always busy and could do with being twice the size! the staff work in very cramped conditions and they work very hard to please, most times i visit there is a long queue but they try their hardest to serve you as quickly as possible, the table cleaner also works very hard, i saw the size of there washing area, how they manage is these conditions is beyond me! hats off to the staff, give them a bigger working space!

Staff always. Welcoming even when they are. So busy coffee always first class And the food is good might seem. Expensive. But it's good would always go back again and again

We stop at Costa for a Chai Tea and Latte with my elderly Mother-in-law whenever we shop at Weston Favell. The drinks can not really be faulted, the staff are friendly. The food is quite limited - I can never really see a healthy option light lunch which is a shame. Still its handy for a 20 minute sit down.

What can I say..these franchises are much the same more or less.

First visit for midmorning hot drinks after food shopping on a lousy bank holiday Monday morning. Service was surprisingly quick and efficient. We are not normally great enthusiasts for this global café but were both impressed by the service and quality drinks. Good one Costa

The service here is quick, ideal for a lunchtime snack whilst out for lunch at work.

This is a review for Costa at Tescos East Hunsbury store as they don't seem to have a site to leave your comments about. Staff lovely as always coffee shop lovely and clean and looks better now it has been refurbished. Since the refurbishment you get more choice of things to purchase and as someone said in another review the items are pricey, but then the choice is yours if you decide to purchase or not. I took my husband for coffee before we started shopping and he also had a slice (using this word loosely) of lemon drizzle cake. Well l know l asked for the cake as l got charged for it,but when l got to the table l had a hard job locating it until l moved the fork and there it was. Obviously the refurbishment has to be paid for some how but l can honestly say l have never seen such a small slice of cake and the charge was the same as it was before the refurbishment when you did get in my opinion a slice of cake and not a slither!!! Still never mind we all learn from our mistakes and this is one mistake we won't be making again!

Was ok, nothing to rave home about. Set in the middle of a mall so people walking either side. Coffee ok

Much nicer look after refurbished, more seats and friendly staff except for one or two miserable ones. Some chairs are dated and warn in desperate need of new ones.

I'm a coffee addict and the coffee and this Costa was fantastic friendly staff really nice establishment worth a visit!

We cannot resist calling into our local Costa when out and about.

This Costa is always at least half full. The beverages are fine, can be quite good if you like to people watch as it's an open coffee shop. There is not much room to queue which can get annoying as you end up outside the shop.

Nice coffee shop - there are a couple in Northampton town centre - always busy. Would recommend the latte coffee and the peach/lemon ice drink.

This cafe has the usual great Costa coffee with the benefit of excellant and friendly staff. There is nothing better than finishing the chore of shopping in Tesco and being able to sit in a calm oasis sipping coffee and watching the world bustling by.
